May I ask, I just bought a PC (HP laptop 15-dy4013dx) and on the box there is a bullet point states "WIndows 11 Home in S mode" does this mean I get Windows 11 automatically installed into this HP computer for free ? Shouldn't I have Windows 11 installed for free ? Thanks for your time

That app switch out of s mode is no longer available on Microsoft store what's the alternative to disable s mode?
with this 11 home s mode is more security needed like MacAfee or is it good enough.
I want to download zoom for video conference but will need to get out of s mode right? But then will not be able to get back to s mode? Is that right too? What do you suggest? Help please 🙏🏼

I just bought an HP, and in Settings it says I am running Windows 11 Home(no S mentioned)- however, I can't download anything except from microsoft store- where did they hide the freakin' S mode stop? Nothing on mine looks like your step 2 in "activation" TIA
Your not clear...! It appears a Microsoft account is mandatory to get out of S mode. So I can't have a local account and exit S mode..?

I got that same laptop days ago and I'm very comfortable with windows 10 but it came with windows 11 which I'm not completely familiar with.
I sometimes wish people with making technology more advanced would, just for maybe 2-4 years, stop.
Once I switch out of Windows 11 S Mode can I then download from other site’s as well as Google?

Keep in mind that Edge browser is built on the Chrome browser so anything you can do on Chrome you can do on Edge.
The Microsoft Store isn't working for me. Can't install apps, or switch out of S Mode. Keeps giving me error messages.
The Microsoft Store should always be working no matter what version of OS you have. It sounds like you have an OS issue. Back up the data and reinstall the OS is your best option. We have tutorials on how to make a bootable usb device to reinstall step by step

Same thing for me it’s actually very frustrating as I got the laptop for a specific app and can’t even get it to setup, try to click the get button like like your supposed to to get out of s mode and keeps saying try again
As a gamer that likes to record gaming i cant use any of the capture cards to store videos in the laptop because it requires obs and it cannot get obs because of s mode, now i would just simply leave s mode but the warning of switching out of s mode can lead to further on damage... I'm afraid if i do this that'll be 800 dollars down the drain..
Switching out of S mode enables you to fully use the laptop's capabilities. They are giving you that warning to keep people using the micrsoft store. Technically it is safer as you cannot download programs from outside sources lol. If you need OBS, then swithc out of S mode 😁👍

Update your Laptop First!
Do a Factory Reset.

If you’re running older unsupported models then this won’t help you.
Don't want an MS account, so no way to leave S Mode without one that I can find.....
register one and then switch out and never use it

The amount of annoying adds on S Mode is ludicrous.

This is completely bullshit. It should be just a toggle at login screen, not system wide.
It says 1 month free and it says I have to pay 99.99
That sounds like that is for Office 365
They FORCE you to create a MICROSOFT Account to get out of S MODE. Help? 2024
I had the same problem with a Lenovo laptop a friend of mine got recently, Have always had a problem with using a Micros**t account but with no way to switch it off without using one I was a bit stumped, then I found a “CyberCPU Tech” fix the other week. Hope this helps.
