The first KQi2 I received was DOA, and NIU sent a new controller that I replaced. If your scooter is under warranty NIU will repair it for free or send you the parts, depending on what you prefer. You have a 2 year warranty on NIU scooters.
What sort of light, usually if there is an issue the scooter display shows an error code. Here is a guide from NIU on buying spare parts: "For the customer from the NA region, if you feel comfortable changing the spare part yourself, please follow the below-mentioned steps: 1. Please go to www.niu.com/us and scroll down to the bottom; 2. Click [After Sales] and follow the instructions on the pop-up window; 3. When you fill out the form, please fill out what spare parts and how many spare parts you need. 4. Select [Send you replacement parts] For the customers in the EU, if you are capable of repairing the kick-scooter by yourself, you can purchase the spare parts by referring the following steps: 1. Please visit niu.b2x.com/shop/ 2. Click the flag icon located at the upper right of the corner and select the region; 3. Select Your Model 4. Select the parts you need and confirm the quantity 5. @Lantea13 there is no after sales button u just send people on a wild goose chase so it appears to possible buyers that the NIU has good support but in reality they have none

The controller (at least in my scooter) seems to have the wrong wheel size - it's showing speed 2..4 km/h more on the display than the actual speed seems to be, as the rent scooters are overtaking me and pulling away, while I'm supposed to be at the 25 km/h. Is there a way to change that whell size value?
There is no way to change the scooter wheel values or other parameters. The 2-3km/h slower speed is a known issue/feature? NIU knows about it and towards the end of last year they wrote on their facebook group that at least for the German model they were working on fixing it, as that one was going 17km/h instead of the intended 20km/h and apparently legally it can go up to 22km/h (10% over the limit). So the hope was they would look into the limitation on the EU version as well, but I havent heard anything since, but I dont often check facebook, so maybe there was some updates on trying to address the lower speed.
@@Lantea13 I had an exchange on reddit and they basically gave me the basic PR stuff. Maybe there is a way to replace the actual controller with something that is programmable, without any official blockades? ...also, maybe flashing a firmware from a different model might help with that problem?... like the kqi3 pro.
Unfortunately that is not something I have experience with. I remember a while back some guys on a German youtube channel put an expensive vesc controller in a NIU scooter. But honestly that is just not worth the cost and hassle, imo. At that point its just esier to buy a more powerful scooter. But if you have experience with such mods would be interesting to see what you come up with.

I somehow pressed the lock button during a near fall from a bump the that threw the stem back at me. Since then, I unbound my primary account and tried a new account. I cannot seem to get software back to bind it with my iPhone Bluetooth. It has stayed locked and unable to bind. NIU service says they will unbind my two accounts. They said it will take 2-3 days to unbind by the engineering group. Is there an easy way to fix this? Has this happened to you or anyone?

That should work in theory. But the top speed of the KQi2 is 17.4mph which is 28km/h, so you won't get faster speed than that even with US controller.
