You are a treasure! Thank you for all the videos on this Scooter:) made me secure to buy and I’m grateful, for all the hard work you put into making the content. Excellent!
Bought this per ur suggestion on reddit to one of my posts. WOW. Epic scooter. Legitimately feels like a $800 scooter to me. Build quality, handling, layout, design, superb. Only complaint is the handles are slightly tiny and wouldnt mind more padded handlebars. But that's nitpicking. A+ product.
Happy to see you are enjoying your new scooter. I have about 850km on it so far and plan to do a short review update at 1000km. So far its been holding up really well over the past few months of winter riding.
Great video, and thanks for having some of the only disassembly videos for the kqi2. I had an issue where the scooter wouldn't start but the bluetooth and speaker still functioned. Turned out the blue wire from the battery got disconnected. I don't know why the battery and controller connectors, that are behind multiple layers of disassembly, don't have a locking mechanism I also wish I had spent a little extra for the KQi3. The extra speed and distance would have made a big difference. In the city (US) being able to go 20mph is very comfortable for safety reasons. I'm still looking for options to boost the speed and capacity but there aren't any afaik
i will buy this scooter and completly rebuild it, with new motor controller and display i will use Samsung 50G Cells, Smart BMS and G30D Gen 2 Motor... maybe i can get a 13S3P Configuration that would be 720WH otherwise its 13S2P with 480WH i think when i sell the other parts new, i can build it nearly for free
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have hands on with the xiaomi, but going by the specifications the xiaomi has only 8.5" wheels compared to the 10" on the KQi2, so it will be less comfortable on rough surfaces, but it has the benefit of being 4kg ligher, so that might appeal to you. In general the xiaomi is well reviewed, but personally I would prefer to have bigger tubeless tyres. The power of both should be about the same with 300w motors.
I've recently purchased this product; and I love it. Although I have a question about how you would go about locking it with a physical based lock (U-lock/Chain Lock/etc.) rather than just the app lock. I keep this scooter with me wherever I go but I was wondering for future cases.
I would probably attach a lock behind the front wheel around the neck of the scooter or maybe through the front wheel. But so far I keep it with me wherever I go, so I haven't tried any locks on it yet.
I am about 175cm tall. So about 10cm shorter if my conversion was right. I think you should be fine, but to be sure it would be best to go to a store and try out any scooter(if they don't have the KQi2) and compare the handlebar height to that of the KQi2 and you should have a bit better idea of the fit.
The max weight for the scooter is 100kg, so if you are 118kg, it might not be an ideal choice. As for how it climbs hills you can see that at 14:20 in the review video.
If you can't send it to NIU. Ask NIU support or their service partner besender to send you a replacement throttle under warranty. You can also check shop.besender.com/store/ Once you have the replacement, I made a guide on how to replace it here ruclips.net/video/6U0HE3f7d9M/видео.html follow the steps and you should have it fixed. Its not too complicated, if you have any questions just ask me and I will be happy to help :)
Yes, I still have it and ride it; it still works without any issues, I am at around 2500km with it, would be more but I used the KQi Air a lot this year.
Do you have any idea on how to make this scooter Faster? Is there any new firmware that you can download for the USA version (it's the fastest firmwhere. as I live in England this scooter is limited to 15.5mph which isn't very fast) I've tryed an APK file on another RUclips video and it just did not work. It would be so cool 😎 if you know how to do this as I own this scooter but could do with some extra speed my friend??
Sorry but I don't have experience with changing the scooter firmware. I only saw one german video months ago where some guys were talking about it. Plus, imo, its not really worth it as you will loose your warranty if you mess with the scooter firmware.
@@Lantea13 yes I saw exactly the same German video and it does not work. The only other way is to do it manually by unplugging the dark blue wire inside the scooter which is the speed limiter, but then I would have to take half the scooter apart and remove the grip tape and I'm not willing to do this plus,as you said,it will void the 2 yeah warranty on the scooter and I've not long had it so I've decided against the idea,at least until the warranty expires anyway lol I just thought I'd ask you because all your videos actually work my friend 👍
Yes the KQi2 can be ridden in rain, BUT keep in mind that water damage is not covered by warranty. That being said so far I had no issues riding in rain ruclips.net/video/4-GrSpbhWH8/видео.html but be careful.
The KQi2 has only a 300w motor so there are limits to what hills it can handle, especially if like me you are near the maximum weight limit. If you have steep hills where you live it might be best to consider more powerful scooter options such as the KQi3 Pro or KQi3 Max. If the hills are very steep you might need a dual motor scooter.
Your in-depth review is absolutely GOATED bro, thanks so much for going above and beyond. Finally, made a secure perchase no more overthinking!!
Thanks, happy you found the review helpful :)

I had the same problem only two weeks after starting using it.
Everyone is hoping someone finds a way of unlocking the max speed limitation 😅
Excellent comprehensive video, 👍
