I would like to thank you. I used to be a keen modeller building Airfix, Frog and Revell kits back in the day. With the current situation i, have begun to get back into building the amazing kits available now .I decided to restart my hobby by building the Tamiya 25PDR Quad and gun kit. The reason for this was my Dad was the gun layer on this gun. I only have one photograph of him while he was serving. He was a member of the 78th "Battleaxe Division. I have for a while now trying to find decals of the 78th. As a result of your review of the carrier I noticed that the Battle axe divisional sign was included. So thank you very much.
Great build.. I would have hidden the track gap behind the front side skirt.. but I see somebody has already suggested that.. :) I am waiting for this very kit to arrive in the post, not sure when I'll build it, but this video has given me some interesting ideas, as what to do with it.. :)
Great to here! Yes, in retrospect hiding the track behind the mud guard seems like an obvious fix! I'll just have to make do by using some thick mud...
@@ModellingWeekly Yes, that is the beauty of building ground vehicles.. you can always cover any 'defects' with mud.. or at least some of the time.. ;)
funny thing with this kit is that it was modeled off a carrier in a Japanese museum, but what they didn't know was that it has the hull of a Mk2 carrier and the rebuilt armour off a Mk1 carrier with bits of Mk1 here and there
😂😂 well, you can find it at PSBMusicStudio, though I've changed by recent videos to use something more calming. This stuff was controversial as you'd expect xD
@@ModellingWeekly Thanks man. Somehow I`ve only just discovered your channel, so I`m playing catch-up. I like it a lot, far more organic and `hands on` than the big boys, Plasmo, Dusan etc, a welcome change.
That wicked intro music is motivational, makes me want to do some evening lawn mowing. Is there any drastic difference in this kit & the MK "forced reconnaissance vehicle" kit, other than figures ? Do you still get the extras & weapons?
@@ModellingWeekly I definitely want to build this kit. I loved your weathering technique on this. The paint looks really good. Do you thin hairspray at all ? Seems kinda thick & sticky but I've never tried it. Only ever used panel washed before. I want to try that technique as well. Thanks for the cool content!
@@doejon9424 glad you want to give it a try! Depends on the thickness of your particular hairspray. I didn't need to thin mine, though I was using a fairly large 0.4mm nozzle. If you do need to thin, I'm pretty sure you can just use tap water. A hassle free alternative is buying some of AMMO MIGs pre made chipping fluid! Good luck!
@@ModellingWeekly I will be trying the hairspray over the MiG because I like the idea of having something in bulk, easily available to use on my models. I'm sure you get a small amount with the MiG AMMO project. I also like the idea of sealing the decals early on to avoid damaging them. Sometimes washes can get them wrinkly like a a raisen. I'm not new to models but I always built them "normal" so this info is all useful. First heavy weathering & then maybe a knocked out vehicle eventually!
@@doejon9424 cool! Well, as I said, good luck! Oh and by the way, it's worth noting that hairspray chipping works best with paints like tamiya acrylic, as I've discovered in more recent projects. Other Acrylics aren't bad, you just really need to be careful with them!
I can't remember the combination exactly, but if you try to match it to this: www.hurricanemodels.co.uk/images/cache/b_35249.500.jpg it should be fine!
Very nice build, subbed, I've got one of these waiting to be built. Unfortunately mine only came with 2 figures for the Africa build, should have checked at time of purchase, I'll remember next time. I notice you attach your tools after the weathering process, do you weather them a little later?
I'm building Rich model's UCs some detail in them and only £25 the amount of PE though is crazy if your not keen haha but nice real springs for suspension etc
@@ModellingWeekly Bought it today. V reasonable price wise and there's some great after build extras out there for them. I also picked up some paper shaper from vms for some tarps. Apparently it's v good?
Hi. So I've bought it and half way through. I take it the Vallejo were acrylic and then the humbrol gloss acrylic too? As the Tamiya panel liner is enamel that should be ok? I'm just concerned about the panel liner damaging my painting. Sorry for the questions!
I'm glad you like the videos :) Most of the time they are dark silver, with a silver muzzle. If you do a google search of 'Bren gun', you'll see what I mean
I hope you enjoy, and stay tuned for the next video in this mini series, where I will build a small diorama/vignette!
Excellent video! If i ever get this kit now I have a reference! Excellent choice for 🎶too👍!

No problem man, I'm very glad that I could help. Enjoy your re-ignited model building, I hope everything goes great!
Tamiya brown panel liner is perfect for green viechles. Used it on a Churchill tank, really nice.
Very nice! My Great Grandad drove and instructed on these in the Second World War, with the Royal West Kents regiment.
Thanks 😄 that's amazing!
Nice build and finish. Shame about that track though - unusual for a Tamiya kit that. Great vid thanks for sharing.
you're right, tamiya tracks are generally problem free!
Good thing is you can hide it with the ttack cover that the front so not all bad hey

the thing that i like about your vids there in one vid not heaps of little ones

Strange,Tamiya kits are usually insanely meticulous in their quality fit and finish. Great build.
thanks! I know, it was pretty confusing...There is always the possibility I had done something wrong, but not anything i know of
That model is almost 50 years now. Compare it with any airfix from mid 70s.

Хорошая работа. А стык гусеницы нужно было спрятать под крыло...
Да, теперь, когда я думаю об этом, это было бы хорошей идеей!

How did you paint the bren guns?
Vallejo metal colour gunmetal :)
what about the wood?
@@seantaplin581 ah, that's just Vallejo old wood, streaked with various wood shades
can humbrol 53 (gun metal) and 110 (natural wood), be used?

I always wondered why the Brits designed a PERSONNEL carrier with NO ROOF!!! I guess the Germans wouldn't shoot at the HEADS!!
Same reason Jerry did ... so the chaps could get out fast and into the fight.
👍
Don't get to see Bren gun carriers enough. Thanks for this.
But next time please close the door to your garage -- the music was distracting. ;)
:) Thanks man - will do!
I think your paint is not dyluted because it is splettering bud it isn't so bad
Yeah, I think when I built this my nozzle was really blocked, it stopped sputtering when I cleaned it out
Another video I have to watch with the sound muted. Good old kit though. One of my favourites.
Sorry about the sound lol. It's an old video, nowadays j use calm music in every video. Glad you liked the build though

God could you replace that backround music in the future? Sounds like a dying cat + drums… and even the drums sound kinda like trash 😞

Sorry, this is not British colour
Silly me!
Could well do without that noise in the background.
