From what I've seen everyone embarking on these narrow boat restorations go through a tough patch , they nearly always seem to be a total re-fit ❗️it's a labour of love ❤️ and look great when finished 🎉

Well tiles should stay in place! Used simplex 522 to glue solar panel brackets to roof of van about three years ago. You have more chance of wrecking roof than shifting Panels! So make sure you get it right before it dries!

I know you’ve probably done this,… but maybe set a date to leave ,and what isn’t done ,gets done on the go,or not done at all.
This way you have an end in sight as it were,(and something boaty to look forward too.)
You’ve come so far ,both boat wise and vlog wise. I now genuinely log in to watch these ,and was disappointed when these were late.( no pressure😊).

Chris I understand down days and I feel sorry for you but, the other side of the coin is at least you’re on your narrowboat, maybe lots to do but you can go to bed and listen to the sounds of a narrowboat knowing in the near future you’ll be on the cut. I do similar here in Oz, I SO, SO want a narrowboat but as you know it will depend on a Lotto win, and yeah I get down but I never lose hope of winning. Can you will yourself to win? LOL. Sikaflex is great but expensive and such a good adhesive you’ll struggle to get it off ever again. I find butyl sealant at a quarter of the price better to use. By the way, as soon as you open the Sikaflex nothing will stop the rest of the tube curing in a few months. PPS meths is a good solvent to remove unwanted Sikaflex.
Oh wow, maybe I should use it to attach Chris to the wall if he misbehaves 😂😂😂 That interesting about it curing so quickly. With it being expensive and only using a little at a time I will definitely be lookin into butyl sealant in the future. Thanks for sharing your wisdom 🙂

What is not realised is how long it takes.
Working in a mess all the time creates anxiety and stress which like a silent ninja creeps up on you.
It's daunting for you both

If you were rich you’d have bought a new or nearly new boat and had no problems. However, when you finally get there, you will appreciate it much more and feel very proud. It will be worth it and what memories you will have to look back on. Don’t give up !!

Absolutely, although from experience, new boats always have problems too. It's part and parcel of boat life generally! But yeah you are right. Theres no point in wallowing in the negatives when you could see it as an opportunity to build on your skills 😍

It may look a lot like a tasty commestible from Planet Crobot, but when you're taking on human form, you may find that it causes some uncomfortable problems. 😅

😉😂 CT1 is my go to flexible adhesive/sealant but sikaflex works 👍

On a boat getting your finger out only helps if it's not pluging a hole below the water line.

Given the opportunity and the potential fantastic outcome to your project, I'd swap you tomorrow. All the hard work can take a toll on people, but seriously, you are both doing a great job and despite what seems like one step forward and two steps back, just gather your thoughts and look at how far you have come. Keep at it and soon you will be cruising your life's little dream.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You both are doing a great job and have been for quite some time. You have been able to keep your spirits up against all kinds of obstacles that you were not expecting ……water everywhere for one….. so I would be frustrated also. This time of year is hard, less sun, if any, and short days certainly don’t help. Becca is amazing with her creativity and craftsmanship, but I am guessing that you do a whole lot more to help than you give yourself credit for Chris, or she would be using power tools on you! Thanks Kathy. Like is often the way in life we are best to play to our strengths so Chris does most of his hard work on the editing of the vlogs whereas I tackle the DIY. I feel that's a pretty good balance really! Thanks for watching 🙂

A lot of long term projects make reevaluate, is this the right thing to do? Sounds like you could do with a few weeks break. You both have achieved a lot in that time, most of the hard work has been done. You also learnt new skills along the way which will help you in years to come. It's the best way to learn by making mistakes. Go and have a break guys, trust me you feel a lot better and will have more enthusiasm later
it is really, and if we look back there's so much progress that we have made, just a shame we havent been able to enjoy really narrowboat life yet, but it will come, iv had my moan...im already feeling better haha thanks Chris

Good choice on the sikaflex , I used it to stick up the battens when I converted my van and they still holding up the T&G
Plus been using some sikaflex on a bowl I'm turning with some Yew inlay

Oh wow that's good to know thanks! As you'll see in a later episode we managed to find out where sikaflex works well and where it doesn't but so far those tiles aren't going anywhere so I'm happy!

I can certainly vouch that Chris has very much felt very worn down by the work we've been encountering with the narrowboat of late so if you are referring to the title then I can assure you it's sadly very genuine!
