I think Digimon has a lot of ways to enjoy it, and as much as the games are my favourite way, I dont think Digimon is getting smaller...I think they're getting bigger.

I never was interested in Digimon. Preferred Pokèmon over this. But a friend of mine does play Digimon. As someone who basically buys most of the same games as my friend, I decided to give this a try. I hope I do not regret it.

At least in Hong Kong, for the first 1~2 years, Digimon was actually more popular as the anime story was so much better than pokemon. But then the trend started to reverse. More and more pokemon games were out with uprising quality. (Despite the anime was still meh...) While digimon was too late in developing console / pc game (They focus on developing digimon gadet like tamagochi, which was getting outdated), and their anime was falling in quality since season 1
Funny that you mention that the two difficulties might as well be called Normal and Hard. Since, that's what they were in Japan. The translators just goofed up, and labeled hard normal, and normal as easy. When I found this out, my first reaction was: "This explains so much." lol
@@mastertrainergaming Actually the difficulty modes were made for the international release. On PS Vita in japan there was only one difficulty mode, when they released internationally they added "normal mode", Easy mode is the default that the game just had in japan.
Very excited to have this on the Switch finally and I really loved my playthrough on the PS4 years ago but once I saw the full price point for this version, I will have to hold on for a sale. Its is a Bandai Namco game, they go on sale often and for very cheap too!

Its got a simplified mode (making it easier to start), running (great QoL) and its got drop in/drop out playability thanks to the Switch. I reckon its worrth your time
The machinedreeyymon bothered mo so much 😂 I played world 1-3, rumble arena, card battle, re-digitize and cybersleuth so this is definitely a buy for me. I don't really notice the difference between this version and the Vita one though.
The main differences are Beginner Mode and the running button to make map traversal better. I hope you enjoy it! I never played Re:Digitize, so I'll have to look into that next
I'm a lifelong Digimon fan yet I just finished Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and absolutely loved it, so I was stoked to hear You Will Know Our Names in the background
@@mastertrainergaming 100% agree. There's something for every occasion. If I want to get pumped for workout I can jam to Mechanical Rhythm, if I need study music I can put on any day theme, and if I want to doze off I can put on any night theme.
The first one was my favorite out of the original 3 I was hooked, and I used to have my friends over with their memory cards to battle. Damn multi-player was something else back then.

If this is your first time playing the game, I rate it 10/10 without bias from reading the ratings. It is expensive for an old game but the experience was worth it. It became easier when i used walkthroughs and guides. Even on beginner mode you will be challenged since the difference is the grinding part. Even on beginner mode, I need to grind a lot. I am on post game and beat the game on 66 hours. I am satisified eith the game.

The Digimon Stories games are pretty much the World 3 formula, like Cyber Sleuth (and the DS games which were stupidly named Digimon World in the west despite being called Digimon STory in japan.
Ahhh the Mugendramon/Machinedramon name. I grew up with Digimon World PS1 as one of my favourite games, and I replayed it all the time. So I never knew of Mugendramon until my late teens
I grabbed this one for the Switch yesterday, I prefer the World games over the Story games, though CS & HM weren't bad. It's a shame the game is missing the Japanese dub, the English dub is pretty poor, hopefully BandaiNamco will offer the JP dub as DLC. Not sure if I want to play on Normal or Easy to be honest, I want to play on the "intended" difficulty.
So, I'd argue intended difficulty is Easy mode, as that is 'Normal' in the JP version. And yeah, definitely a shame about the JP dub not being available.
The footage in this clip is from IGN, I couldn't find my own PS4 footage. Agumon and Gabumon seem to have some pretty high parameters to hit to obtain them, I've not managed to get them as partners in my first generation before

I love the Digimon Anime season 1-3 and 3 Games (Digimon World DS, Digimon World Champianshio and Digimon World 1) realy realy much, but much the Animes. The game was released in 2016. The graphics are terrible by today's standards and the PC version was just released for $60 dollars? They should have just done a remaster or remake.
TBH graphics dont make a game, but WOW do those 2016 faces and facial expressions cause some recoil when you see them. And I agree, a full price rereleaseis a bit much.
i dont get why you suddenly have 2. and why are there so many humans. i want an improved digimon world 1, not a game where they just try to crank everything to 11. 2 is more then one, yes, but it doesnt mean its better. with one digimon, you can really care for it. with 2, your attention is split.
This is probably one of the worst grindy game ever. On top of that, you need to read guides to really enjoy this or you're digimons will keep dying. I loved digimon when I was a kid but this is not what I remember about it.
Your over use of hand gestures is so distracting, I just want to hear about the game, ideally while looking, at said game. So annoying when people feel the need to get their face involved. A few of my favourite RUclipsrs never show their face and it's better for it
