people dont realize playing this game actually trains the player, you go through the 5 stages of grief over and over again until you become immune and you suddenly realize that hey its not too bad.. just like in real life, if something bad happens, move away from what makes you unhappy and start over
Moving away would just be to stop playing it and go play Cyber Sleuth instead, right? 😂 Yeah it tries to make you feel tied to these Digimon and get very sad when they day so you're ready to grind them up again for hours. You're too numb to realize all the time you are wasting.
@@urekmazino5125 I am never been a big fan of the original Digimon World style games, though I think this is the best of those. I certainly play other Digimon games much more.
Im running on my 3rd gen rookie, age 1&2 days and got around 2500-3000 stats for both of them now. Trying to reach at least 8500-9000 stats hopefully this guide will help me achieve that. :) I have tips for whoever starting this game. I use this tips and it works for me. 1st gen just do whatever you want. Explore this gameplay and try to understand how this game work with your gen 1. Only 1 target for this stage is clear chapter 1. Because in chapter 2 you can open many place that will be helpfull for you to grinding your next gen digimon. 2nd gen you train your digimon with many guide around the youtube you can easily reach stat around 3-4k at your digimon. Usualy when your digimon start digivolve to champion. Then stop grinding and start progress from there. These stats is ok for mid game - open infinite cauldron on chapter 4. (2nd gen is where i got my population growth from 15-105) after i open infinite cauldron my digimon age 20&21 and i can wait them to die peacefully. They already do a lot for me. :') The last for 3rd gen. (While im still doing this by myself) focus on grinding and try to reach highest stat you can get. Im targetting around 8-9k. And try lock your digivolution so you can get your dream MEGA digimon and good if you can get your first DNA digivolution there. 3rd gen objective is clearing all end game story and post game. Including dimension when you figthing many MEGA digimon to become your citizen.. Thats it. You can finish this game by far only with 3rd gen digimon. Thats my sharing. Happy grinding. :)
By your 3rd gen you should easily be able to use this guide to reach those goals if you are willing to put in the time grinding them up. As for your advice for this first couple generations that sounds pretty solid. This game can be quite complicated so getting your bearings and any progress is good in the first couple gens.
i never listened to people who told me to battle train bcs i didnt know how or who or where to do so this helped greatly lmao, also side note your voice is so calming i like to watch stuff in the background and when i accidentally let the video keep playing i found it was so much more peaceful then anything ive left playing
This made the difference. I went from a chaosdukemon and Dynasmon with 30,000 Hp, 20,000 mp and 4000+ prior to following your guide to a shinegreymon and metal garururmon with 50,000 HP and MP and 8000+ stats to beat the base game then I evolved them to Omegamon Alter-B and shinegreymon achieving max stats in the post game. Currently they are Chaosmon and DukemonCM once again at max stats. So yes thanks for this guide I will be using it every time I do the grind in the future. Though I hope in the next digimon world style game they just give the partner digimon a base level to scale the difficulty instead of chaotic stat insanity that is hard for the devvs and players to balance the difficulty around. That way your digimon gets stronger each generation while encouraging experimentation
Glad you could make it into the max stat club. We welcome you. I mean with Tamer skills your Digimon do get stronger, but yeah allowing more different builds and options to work would be more fun. I mean using a quick move and buffs is so much stronger than just about anything else that you can use. It would be nice if more things were viable to make the grind a little less samey.
@@Rordrik agreed. I figure if your partners have a base level and evolution to give it fixed stats throughout the game it would fix the pacing problems and take away the feelings of Lowe and anxiety of losing out on inherited stats. A level 50 Birdramon for example would have fixed stats just like a typical rpg but you would still learn moves. My idea has evolutions being unlocked based on what you fight though level requirement could lock some routes in the early game although turning into a royal knight like Gankoomon in chapter 1 was appealing. As for the gym I wouldn’t get rid of it just repurpose it. Instead of it increasing base stats I think the gym should be a daily stat bonus to give your partner a bit of an extra edge but it is not required just something extra you could upgrade. My final idea is a digimemory system. Any adult evolution or higher can be evolved into once or twice a day in battle with a digimemory chip equipped to your partner. If your digimon were say Tyranomon in its previous cycle you unlock the tyranomon chip and can use it as a form in combat. A child or adult can use an adult chip. Adult and perfect a perfect chip and so on and so forth. This way the player can personalize their digimon with their favorite evolutions while unlocking new ones as well as having more access to the moves in the game(so I guess in the menu you’d have to assign moves to a given digimemory) these are the three big ideas I had tell me what you think
@@zettas1157 1) I don't think they would ever do fixed stats, that is what the other games like Story are for. Plus if you had to grind for levels I don't see how that would really be different than grinding for stats, unless you want to use it to help balance things better. 2) The gym already isn't needed. That is what this guide is all about. Though in all the other World games it is the center piece of training. So yes having one where a nice mix or way they could work together would be nice to mix things up. Increase stat gains of one type for the day or whatever. 3) DigiMemories were already done in ReDigitize, but you seem to be looking for something different than those. I assume to make things easier a DigiMemory would just have whatever moves that Digimon had last time you used them since it is a memory. Though if you had a favorite form you kept going back to that would probably lower the amount of variety, but it is a choice to do so.
I really struggled at the beginning of the game. I'm in chapter 2 now, 3rd generation of Digimon and following your tips I have a Rosemon and a AeroVeedramon at 6 in-game days, while also max friendship and able to perform ExE at any given time if needed. The difference is WILD.
We all struggled in the beginning of this game. You were likely just doing what the game told you to do and that just doesn't really work that well early on to let you get a lot done. I'm glad the tips helped you out. Always glad to see more people enjoying Digimon games.
Thanks for this! The bitter reality of knowing I've wasted so much time in the gym, but the peace of mind knowing all future playthroughs will be better is down to you
I hope that it helps. I know I got stuck in Chapter 2 before I started doing this to make some progress. It takes a while, but saves so much in game time later playthroughs should be much smoother.
It already has on this playthrough. One thing I probably missed and I do apologise asking, but my Digi's evolved to Ultimates whilst fighting the Growlmon and I kind of get diminished returns, is there something I can do to fix that? Or just go to the next enemy?
@@stefanjackson1127 Yeah, as your Digimon get to higher stages of evolution it becomes harder for them to gain stats from many things. Being Ultimate at that point it is hard to get maximum gains so you have to upgrade to tougher enemies. As you can see in the video I was fighting them with rookies. Though sometimes the higher enemies are too tough for your stats. At that point the gym/restaurant might be enough to help you recover, but it might be tough to train too much more in that generation.
Thank you for that. Would you say while I'm trying to reach max stats and I've sort of hit a wall on their growth, it'd be best to just now blast them in the gym until they die to raise their parameters and do the battle cycle again? It's so strange like you said being a rookie and blasting ultimate enemies haha
@@stefanjackson1127 If you have reached the point that you cannot make progress in the story or whatever else you might be trying to do, that is certainly a way to do it. Buffing moves and plugins do help a lot. If you are late game and looking to speed up death you can do the gym or feed them devil chips. The only game where your stage might matter less to determine your stats are the DS games. It is strange.
It will take some time, usually a couple hours, but you can do it. Even if you don't max out your first try this will get you strong enough to handle many things in the game. I believe in you.
Glad it could help. Even with near max stats sometimes you might still need plugins for the post game, especially if your partners don't have natural moves to buff STR and STA.
I finished the game! Would like to thank you for putting this video - I had a hard time in PS4 back then lol. This time only the training period is hard the rest are smooth. 1st gen - it is hard to follow this guide step by step due to very low early stats. Gen 2 partially, yes. 3rd Gen is when I was able to follow this guide when I maxed out the Boost parameter after battle (watched your other video on Tamer Skills). I trained both my rookies (chapter 3) then faced a bottleneck between Orange WGrwlm and Blk WGrmon. I reached the last day of my Champions so I decided to DNA Digivolved stingmon to Paildramon (5k~5.5k stats) then XVeemon returned to Veemon with 2.5K stats. Grinded Veemon again to 6K stats. I rushed Chapter 3 and was able to reach Infinite Cauldron while I'm still Veedramon (champion). Basically, I have Paildramon and Veedramon when I started to get access to Infinite Cauldron. Right now, my 3rd gen digimons are still alive thanks to Seraphimon and turned them into Imperialdramon PM and Omegamon Alter -B (90K+ HP/MP and 9999 stats). Now, I'm confused what to do next - either I let them die to go for other digimon or try new game (hard). lol. Gen 1 and Gen 2, for me, the goal is basically to unlock as much area and tamer skills as possible.
I am glad my guides were able to help. 3rd generation is about when I figured most people would be able to follow this guide. There is post game content as well past beating the cauldron so you should still have plenty to do. Though I will also warn you that hard mode only reduces the gains your Digimon receive in training in the gym and in combat, it does not change damage taken or anything like that. I really should DNA some Digimon besides just using ExE so I learn that. I honestly haven't really touched that mechanic in any of my playthroughs.
@@Rordrik the agumon can be a tad bit annoying, but with stealth chips you can take them out and get Taomon alone. But love this video, I watched it over and over again, super helpful
@@joelsifilis Ah I do not think I have ever used Stealth Chips but those could probably be useful. Too bad this isn't the original Digimon World and they beat each other up.
This has made me restart my entire game. I was on generation 13 and struggling. Now I want to do this and get that feeling of actually being with my partners for more then 5 minutes
You can start using this method as soon as you get any new generation, but it may feel better to start over fresh. You will easily be able to see and feel them grow over time as fights get easier.
@@Rordrik oh I did! My first generation has gotten me all the way to chapter 2 and I’m now upgrading my Dojo so I can control my digivolutions! I may not be able to follow the full path because of map limitations but getting 1,400 stats on the first generation feels much better then what I originally did This also is freeing up TP for more interesting skills early on
@@cendregaming3200 Sounds like you are enjoying it much more. Glad I could help out. Just keep on pressing on and soon enough you'll get those max stats with ease, it you even want to train that hard.
@@Rordrik oh much more! I spent an entire day with my first generation of digimon rather then burning through 3 generations in a single session. It is making the game feel more like the show and having them more naturally progress through the ‘adventure’ really helps make me more attached to them rather then seeing them as throw away tools to get through the game. I do agree with you though, the game poorly communicates this. If I wasn’t exposed to this video randomly then I would still believe the training hall was the better choice given, when you first start, you are given very little stats on return for your effort but that changed after a couple hours of play
The hard part of this isn't getting max stats, it's holding onto your sanity when your digimon dies after you max out it's stats... cause now you have to start all over again.
That seems to be part of the allure of the games is to start over and train up something new, but I don't get it. Even with this method it takes at least 2 and a half hours of mindless grinding to get back there. Thankfully you only need a couple max gens to really beat everything the game has to offer.
Yeah it is ridiculous. I can see if you lose multiple matches and or you don't feed them / take care of them then they should die. Not after a couple of days even when you take care of them.
@@Mr.HootieHooRDK Its a game based off of a Tamagotchi. The whole thing is about raising and fighting a companion through its life cycle. There's other Digimon RPGs that you can play that takes that element out.
@@Bahamut84 This general idea can be used from the start. Though without the best items, tent, and tamer skills it is much more difficult to do it solely. Early game the gym will still have a place in training, just it isn't as efficient in the in game time usage to let you get more done.
That is my Guilmon using the move Muscle Charge. Any move you find that buffs stats will make this grind far easier and will stack with any Plugin Boosters you use as well if you need them.
After encountering problems with some post game bosses, I found out that I played this game entirely wrong. Until I found your video I always trained at the gym until my Digimon reached Mega. I only questioned that method after witnessing that stat boosts decline after reaching certain parameters.
You just did what the game was telling you was best. It makes sense. I'm impressed you made it that far without using battle training. It goes to show that other methods can work, but this is far more efficient at least in getting more done per Digimon lifespan.
I’m in chapter 2 and I just train until ultimate and then play the game normally recruiting and stuff. Chapter 1 I was stopping at champion and using the gym for about half the day.
In early game the gym can certainly be needed and with some work just Ultimates can get you going for a bit. Some people swear by the gym and restaurant alone, but this is the way I do it. Play the game however you like if its working for you.
I need help with the dungeons, I want to unlock dimension T yet i don’t know were is machinedramon at or how to recruit him or is he the one I should recruit
From what I can research it has to do with the KaiserGreymon quest. Which once you are in post game head to the Tower Area of the Server Desert and he should be on the left lower area. The quest will take a bit, but completing that should give you Dimension T.
Ffs just got to the cauldron and got wrecked in the first dungeon. After 50 hours and recruiting everyone I can to the city until this point I realised I’ve been playing the entire game wrong Thanks a bunch for the video!
Hey you were just following what the game told you to do. You did well to get that far without looking things up. I had to look things up to get past the first Machinedramon.
Yeah it takes a bit of time and effort to get the rookies that strong, but it is certainly doable. It gets easier and easier with each generation you do.
Excellent video, much appreciated. I'm almost 40 hours in and on my 3rd cycle. I assume this all applies to the PS version, or were there significant tweaks made for the switch version?
This was made on the PS4 version. The only real difference with the newer version is you can be faster with the sprint button and if you're on the new easiest difficulty then you should have an even easier time getting stats in all ways.
@@Jeff_H86 I honestly have yet to play the new version, but from all I have heard there isn't anything more that was changed. Good luck. Once you get into the rhythm of training it takes a bit, but isn't hard.
Hey I'm planning to buy this game after finishing digimon survive my question is, there are stat requirements for digivolution. What will happen lets say if all the digimon's stats are way higher than any of the digivolution requirements will they go through their default digivolution tree? like your Guilmon in the video it has above 3k stats which already surpassed all of his champion digivolution line requirements will it default digivolve to Growlmon?
It is true that typically my stats are very high, so I qualify for all of them. If you qualify for multiple digivolutions then I believe it is normally randomized among the ones you qualify for. Later on in the game you can block off certain routes so you can ensure you get the ones that you want so long as you get the stats to qualify for it or use Digivolving stones to force certain forms.
Man I remember playing this the first time and could not make any progress due to my digimons being weak but then I found videos on youtube that told me pretty much gym is bad after the first generation and to focus on battleing as much as you can as a rookie because theres no cap stat gains on rookies. Once you are a champion and Ultimate they put limits on stat gains from digimon that you fight and then its removed once again when you become a mega. Once I learn how to properly train and level up and had a good prosperity it was a fun time whooping everything lol.
It might take a little while to get things right and going each generation, but once you're trained up you can feel unstoppable. It is strange how they make it hard to train if you're higher level so that it just makes catching up all the harder if you didn't do it while rookie. Glad you enjoyed the game.
@@Rordrik yeah exactly. It was sort if a process done like the first two generations will probably be your weakest and by the 3rd the stats that are regained when you start over and hopefully by then you learn more moves thats what helps with the battling. Overall after several attempts and better understanding I got to relive my digimon world 1 days lol. I enjoyed it but man that grind for the town oufff. I just beat the game with some max stats and took on that dlc boss and did as much as I could with the town and was like Im good lol I did not platnium the game like I did with survive and with cyber sleuth and hackers memory.
It is certainly quite the grind to get it all. I know I have yet to fully platinum it myself, but that will probably happen someday. It is infectious getting all the little progressions that make you want to keep going for more of them. They just eventually slow enough it gets hard to keep going.
@@zacziggarot yeah the game doesnt even really tell you. But from all the guides I have seen on youtube several of the ppl who made the videos mention it. And its pretty much true since you see like oh your not getting stats at 24-26 on anything anymore as a champ or ultimate unless you fighting a certain digimon but if you dont have the stats to take that digimon out its pretty dangerous. Those vending machines with the drinks are your friends in this game too btw. The drinks lower the stress level. Think its thr waters or the soda Idr and those battle items help alot but you will need the money for it. Plus the food at the restaurant in the city.
Thanks for the guide! I just bought this game on PC a few days ago. I am a complete beginner so I feel like I might be missing a few pointers. You mention that this strategy is not so good with a first generation of digimon, so I was wondering: - At what generation should I start following this guide? - How should I train my 1st generation of digimon? (Right now I have 2 champions at about 700-800 in each stat) - I see that you have rookies almost the whole video, I should mostly train when I still have rookies? Thank you so much!!
This game is a bit tough to start getting your bearings, so good luck. 1) The second generation you could probably start using this method to at least get some decent stats, but certainly not all of it. By your 3rd generation you should be good to do just about everything before the spoiler warning if you push for it. 2) Your first generation is tough. You can get away with a little combat training, but your skills, attacks, and city just aren't good enough to support it yet. So mostly it will be training in the gym enough to get through the first few recruitments. Sadly they will never get too strong (unless you are really knowledgeable and speedrunning) so they will likely die as Ultimates. 700-800 for Champions in Gen 1 is pretty good. 3) Especially for battle training method training early is key. As your Digimon get beyond Champion they game puts a cap on stat gains from lower stage Digimon. Therefore they are much harder to train after that point. Once fully up and running you can get Digimon with 8k+ stats when they first get to Ultimate. I hope that helps. Stay tuned this weekend for another beginner tip video for this game and possibly more in the future.
The best training spots for 1k-5.5k is garurumon black then seadramon the megaseadramon mod 2.0 cabin. These are all getting 26+ and you don't need to command at all really well except maybe the beginning.
Yeah I certainly use both places for Black Garurumon and Seadramon in my usual path, though I have never tried out the MegaSeadramon as a trainer. Some people have offered some alternatives that will be interesting to try to shake things up.
I am on my first gen and reached 4K stats. Trick is get "BLOCK/Defend" tamer skill on your first rookie day, By recruiting patamon, palmon, kuwagamon, wormon and numemon, also by collecting materials. Use your low levels digi as Auto Pilot by killing them, which forces you to return to town. After getting the skill, grind Arauramon a few times, then go to black gabumon then Numemon lvl7 at Dusk, make sure to get the single enemy only. Get "Stat Boost" skill as soon as possible to get +24. After the stats feel off go to server desert step step and kill psychemon/numemon at dusk then black garurumon. After that go to Mod cape and kill the Single seadramon on the lake. After the stats gain dwindles go to Faulty Ex machina East coast via Mod ship. Get the single Orange Wargrowlmon, Grind until done. This is the best Grind you can have at early game.
Oh I love the Grind and also the repeated cycle. They do die, and thats the point. A cycle of life where your Training never ends. My first RPG is Digimon World, after that I have difficulty playing normal RPG, which when you maxed a Character thats the end build, fully maxed and nothing else to do but to easily and swiftly end the game.
Yes, defending is a very important skill to pick up and learn how to use it properly to avoid the big damage your partners can take. I'm glad you've found one working for you. 4k in gen 1 is a pretty good milestone to reach. The World style games are quite popular, so clearly many people like the reset and the grind. We all enjoy different things in our games. That is what makes Digimon games so great, they are quite different and everyone can find something they will enjoy.
I think what a lot of people don't know is how overpowered STA really is. You can have Rookies with 3000+ STA grind the WarGrowlmon (Orange) enemies for a single in-game day or two, all while eating Seraphimon's food every so often, and by then my STA would probably be at least 5500+ to 6000+. After that, I continue to grind in the inner core of Infinite Cauldron where you find a Meteormon, Datamon, and WaruSeadramon for another day or two, until I hit at least 8500+. Then finally I grind the GranKuwagamons at the end of Infinite Cauldron and possibly grind the Dimensional Dungeons if I have time. By then, every single other stat will be a breeze.
Stamina makes you HP go much further, so it is always powerful to put more points into that, though most battle training methods will raise just about all your stats equally. I might have to try more things in Infinite Cauldron since I only currently use Wizardmon/Sorcerimon and PlatinumNumemon.
@@bayumahendra1797 Battle training starts at rookie and continues through most of it. They will eventually grow up into Champions but so long as you get far enough before then you should be fine.
As you can see at the end of the video my Digimon are age 7 so that means it took me 7 in game days. Digimon Rookie through Ultimate eat 3 times a day (Megas are 4). So 7 days times 3 meals is 21 meals. With 2 Digimon that's 42 meals, so if using just meat roughly 84 meat or so as 2 will usually fill them, but I use a variety of things that I find around from picking up or beating enemies too. Or if I want to be fancy go back to the restaurant to get better food, but I usually only feed them that stuff when I'm in town at night and in the morning.
I just use Seraphimon’s food in combination with the gym. It extremely increases the amount of stats you gain from the gym. I actually beat the game with my pair of Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon from only using gym training and seraphimon’s food. I got halfway to max stats with likely a lot less effort than fighting other digimon will take
If that works for you and you enjoy it all the more power to you. Though I am curious how you afford all that food without battling? Do the fights once your stats up do it or are you doing a lot of fishing?
@@Rordrik A combination of a lot of fishing and using the earnings from my previous life. I tend to not spend a whole lot when my digimon are at their max level, and beating high level digimon to recruit them to the town gives you quite a bit of money. Particularly after beating the game I had a lot of money because of all of the recruitment fights you do in the final are. Fishing can get boring but at least the time doesn’t pass while doing it and there are perks you can get to increase your chances of getting a bite to speed things up a bit.
Wish this video was out 6 years ago!!?!? Im on gen 16 or 17 and my digimon cap at around 60k hp and 5500 in all stats Granted ive been able yo raise the health by 10k and all other stats by 1k for the past 2 gens but im gonna try this on my new partners Thanks
I know I certainly had to look this stuff up back when I played in order to get my Digimon some decent stats, so don't feel bad. They will keep growing slowly stronger the gym training way, but this is so much more efficient at least in terms of Digimon Life spans. It has proven effective for me and many others, so I hope it helps.
@@Ztronithon Yeah I have never bothered to max out HP and MP though it can be done. The Dimensional Rift can still raise it and the restaurant food will help. The gym will do it too just as it gets too high the gains seem awfully low.
@@Rordrik hey so Ive been working on a video of like everything about digimon world next order Like tips and tricks. Im wondering if I could use some of the methods shown in the video in mine Ill credit you by putting a link to this video and channel in the desc and pinned comment Sorry if this is weird and thanks
@@Ztronithon I don't think this is weird, this is probably a normal thing but it is the first time anyone has asked me. I don't see a problem with that, go ahead. It was researching other people's work all those years ago that got me started to make this video so share the knowledge and Digimon love.
So, all i need to do is fight with this digimons in yours respectives zones? can someone give me any tip besides the food? any routine? I recently improved the city for the first time and I am just on my 2 generation
In gen 2 doing all of this will be hard, only a little bit of it. But if you are going for max stats it is pretty much all that you do. Take the sender to the area you want to train, fight all day, come back to get daily items and sleep. While still early in the game I generally will train Digimon in the gym until their first bathroom break. Then go out to pick up daily things and then do some battles for a little training until tired and need to rest in the tent. Then the rest of the day is walking around to recruit.
@@Rordrik Well, first of all thanks for the advice, I admit that this routine sounds much more productive than what I've been doing. Although my idea in general is to be able to digivolve to MEGA more than reaching the maximum statistics itself. If it's not too much trouble, could you give me any tips regarding getting to MEGA evolution?
It is all based on your current stats and your Digimon's Stage. This only works if you start while they are still rookies because the game makes higher stage Digimon harder to train. If your stats are high enough go try the next area. If you can't beat it some training in the gym and/or the restaurant meals can help your stat gains.
@@southelgin25 Early on I use Colorful Mushroom Soup a lot because it gives some extended Life too from Renamon. She also has Marinated Forest Veg if you want to train MP, WIS, or SPD in the gym. While Meramon has Volcano Meat if you're training HP, STR, and STA.
First, thank you for this informative video! However I've a question regarding hitting specific stats/requirements for a Digimon I would like to get. If I decide to train by battles, how can I ensure that I hit precise stats for further digivolutions? Especially when it comes to intersections with other stats, probably triggering another digitation. In the gym on the other hand, I can precisely train a value to make sure I am within the "tolerance space" for wished digitation.
You are correct. In the early game this method would not allow you to make sure that you go down specific lines because of the stat gains. Once you get GrapLeomon to unlock the Digivolution Dojo and upgrade it to level 2 he has the ability to lock off unwanted paths. So you can disable the paths that you do not want and force the Digimon to go down your desired path even if you qualify for many.
There are a few way you can do it. Mainly I just use the tent while out and about to rest for an hour or rest at the gym if in town. Certain foods can also reduce it like fruits that you can find lying around like Cheerful Apples.
Early in the game this can be hard to correct. Later on you will have more tools to help fix their age difference. General training failures such as untreated wounds, failure to feed, and such things can help lower a Digimon's lifespan. If you fill the poop gauge they will become Sukamon which could also even things out. Once you have access to Devil Chips or find them they will shave a full day of life off a Digimon as well.
sorry, i'm new to this type of digimon games, i've only played cyber sleuth that's way more simple as monster rising, so my question could be really stupid: what's the point of all of this if your digimon will die anyway and then you have to start all over again? is there a way to prevent dying? when it dies, will it evolve faster? cause all i cared in digimon games was to had my mega level digimons and be big and powerful, but what's the point if it lasts 2 hours and then i'm back to rookie?
This is very different from the Story games, yes. I mean there is some progression that carries over as you get to keep your Tamer Skills, and all attacks you have learned so training the next generation is easier. Once you get far enough in the game you can nearly keep them alive forever using food from the restaurant and life gains in the Dimensional Transport. I understand your frustration with that. These are not my favorite style of Digimon games either.
@@Rordrik thanks for the answer! That's a shame tho, I was so hyped about the Pc version coming soon, and this is the only "new" digimon game that we currently have, they've also closed all mobile games, it looks like they want to make money only from the new TCG card game
@@unpaninoconilsalame Digimon Survive came out earlier this year and that doesn't have any Digimon going back or dying in it. Hopefully that sold enough copies it won't take us quite as long to get the next new game. Which from what I hear should be another Story game based around the Olympus XII.
Did you know the vpet formula is based off of tamagotchi? And also did you know bot vpet(aka Digimon) and tamagotchi are made by the same people? The digimon games never started as a story focused rpg like the Story series It actually started as Vpet, even their very first video game on the ps1 uses the vpet formula Heck the digimon available in that specific game are from the first generation of Vpets, said first gen vpets have 5 versions with each having a different set of digimon Heck unlike next 0rder nor world 1, vpet has no way to tell you their stats Only their weight, fullness and health And let me tell you, when they get sick or injured, they get super fussy and not want treatment
How soon can you access the “end game” areas (understand Metalseadramon is only after main story)… I’m in chapter 2 and just got to orange wargrowlmon, wondering how far I can get
Naturally they should be a bit higher than the rest of your stats as they cap out at 99,999 instead of 9,999 like the others. Plus you gain 260 in them for a perfect fight. I rarely bother to max them because it usually takes longer. For most of my training my HP/MP are about 3 times the rest of the stats.
@@trippypanda911 It varies quite a bit from Digimon to Digimon if they have more MP or HP, but so long as you have at least 3k or so you should be all right. Usually you'll have more like 5k.
I've definitely been thinking of make a guide to your first gen video. As for early tips make sure to always get your daily items from Koromon, Palmon, and Numemon in town. Tentomon is great early on to recruit to get the item shop so you can have items. Always remember these games have the built in timer before your Digimon die of old age so training is important but once they're strong enough story and recruitment is important.
@@ximstation3886 The gym does still have its place, but for gaining stats more efficiently so you can get more done in the game the battle method works better. You still need the gym to train up to rookie and early game you might not have the skills and items to constantly battle so it is most useful early. The more tamer skills you gain the better battle training is and is sustainable.
The Digimon shown in this video are Generation 5 I believe. I have beaten this game a couple times, so have a few save files. That sucks that your console got stolen. I hope you enjoy getting to play this game again.
@@ossu7496 Plugins do stack with attacks that raise your stats. Though if you have two attacks that both effect the same stat the newer one will override the old one even if it is weaker.
It means the rest of your stats are too high to get gains there. Each Digimon you train against is better at giving certain stats than others, so other gains won't always be perfect. Once you feel you are strong enough it is time to move on to the next one. The numbers given are general guidelines and will change slightly depending on the difficulty you are playing on.
Thanks a lot for the video! Just one question, let’s say I want my digimon to reach around 7k stats, how much in game time should that take? I mean, should I just wait for them to die if they haven’t reached 3k on day 1-2? Thanks!
If you are aiming for stats that high typically you will want to be able to take on the WarGrowlmon Orange in Champion form (which happens on day 3) so to be in at least at about 3k stats or hopefully a little better. An reaching Ultimate at around 6k stats (which happens on day 6). The main problem is Ultimate and above because that is when stat gains become hard if you can't handle the really tough enemies. I hope that helps.
@@mishu2105 Those numbers will be a bit more lenient if you are playing on Easy mode and more strict or even tougher on Hard Mode. The main difference is how hard it is to gain stats in the different difficulties.
Yeah the first generation can be a little tough, especially your first time playing. There are easier fights in the main area of Nigh Plains but the stat gains aren't great. Though you can use them to stock up on Bits to get some healing items to help.
There are the stat requirements to be able to reach certain forms, but also they must be old enough. Age 4 they'll digivolve to champion, age 7 to Ultimate and age 11 to Mega.
It is the same in Cyber Sleuth as well. I always called them Fresh because I use the English names more, but yeah they've always had a different name. Was someone upset that babies were fighting in some game?
honestly, battle training isn't ideal either. Sure, it' optimal in terms of ingame time, but think of how much time you're spending in real time. If you're 1-2 shotting, let's say every fight, menuing included, takes 30 seconds. From 0 stats at 100% efficiency, you need just shy of 400 fights to hit max stats. Going with 400 to account for room resetting and traveling to new areas, you are looking at 3 hours if you have all the learning skills. But the thing is, you won't always be oneshotting. You will struggle at the start of each leg of the train. So, what's really the best way to train? Seraphimon food. Your digimon get hungry twice a day. It's possible to get 3 times a day, even. Each time they're hungry, they will want to eat around 3 times. Buy the Salad and 2 Fruit Baskets from Seraphimon, and then go to the training hall. You want to optimize for getting back to Seraphimon for more food, and the training hall pushes time forward the fastest plus it gives stats, triple stats thanks to the salad. You will absolutely *tear* through stats very quickly. This is still slower in terms of game time for training than battle training, yes, but if you actually want to play the game and have a life to live, rather than spend 3 hours of prep just to enjoy your mons, use seraphimon performance enhancing dru- I mean, food.
It does certainly take a lot of time, but this is what helped me to get started in the game before Seraphimon was around to even beat the first Machiendramon. The restaurant is a great help, but you need to be able to afford it and without battles or fishing I don't know how people solely rely on it. If you find ways that work for you awesome, this game can be played the way you want to. Especially in end game where you have all the skills and facilities mix things up and have fun.
You certainly can if you want to invest the time to do so. I never found a reason to, but if you have the desire you can keep increasing life to keep training and do it.
Idk if anyone has said this, but in this video all of the sound from your mic only plays through the left side of speakers or headphones. The effects play on both sides, but your voice only plays on one. I feel like at this point, a year later this has probably been addressed. But just in case xD
In all this time I had not noticed that. Though most microphones are only mono, so it takes some extra work to make it stereo to be in both ears. I may find an easier way to fix it, but it is still that way to this day. Thanks for mentioning it.
@Rordrik Of course! It'll help a lot to hold some viewers if you get that figured out. Best of luck, and keep up the great work! Your video was appreciated ^~^
@katirastar-kfpdeliverydriver I appears in my newer videos it has been fixed. I'm not sure how I did it, but maybe when I switched recording/streaming software it happened. Glad the videos can help.
TF stands for Training Failures. These can happen by failing to go to the bathroom, failing to feed them when hungry, not taking care of their fatigue and such things will count as Training Failures.
In my first gen hard mode I make my rookie special evolve to numemon and geremon then etemon and monzaemon lastly 2 platinum numemon at age 11 and finish chapter 2 at age 20 They need low stat to evolve You cant do that grinding at first gen because map progress, story, building upgrade and low money
That is pretty good for a first gen. This training method doesn't work immediately so it can start rough. Age 20 is a long time for your first without many Tamer skills or buildings to help.
@@Rordrik yeah, i take all 3 life Tamer skill... What i want to say here is, focus your first gen to have Mega Digimon for exe and avoid wild digimon... Just do training, until ultimate... With ultimate Digimon, Digimon at desert and plains wild not target you Then go outside town to quest.. and training again while waiting taomon quest and upgrade building... training until Mega and beat chapter 1 and 2... And open all first map When your Digimon age already 18... Just focus fishing at mod cape until your first gen reborn and grinding your secon gen like your video
@@updater5707 Beating chapter 2 is a right of passage in these games for new players. That Machinedramon doesn't mess around. That seems like a good plan. I know I don't always have the same plan I do every first gen so it can be rough to get started, especially on hard.
Hi, how do i know how much stats is a good increase per fight? e.g. my fight with globimon adds about total 18-23 across all stats. Is it too little or should i move on to other higher levels digimon
If you have the tamer skills for it the maximum you can gain is 26 per stat or 260 for hp and mp. Typically when multiple stats start dropping below 20 I consider moving on. If you want to play it safe you can fight them longer but should be ready to move on.
Unfortunately my digimons evolved to champion just after reaching lvl 21 black garurumon. As a result, I'm not able to get a pumping stats there and facing lvl 29 seadramon is out of my league. But this tutorial is amazing! Thanks al ot
Yeah the game really does punish you for not going fast enough in training. The Saberdramon might be able to help or the level 43 Black Agumon in Mod Cape can sometimes work, but sadly that gen might just be too far behind to get too high. I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful.
@@Rordrik backing here... is it really possible to beat wargrowlmon with only 3200 stats? It's impossible, even though you showed on your video. I dont know if was maden any fix or changes on switch version, but I've got owned every single fight against him. Is there any tips that i'm missing?
@@alexandreaugusto7095 They are quite tough, a liberal use of Defend is critical early on to avoid taking huge hits. Using Hand-to-hand attacks will deal more damage to them. Buffs and plugins are also very strong in this game. They are probably the hardest hitting enemies compared to your stats that you will run into up to that point.
What do I do if my rookies despite being the stats yours are, fighting the same digimon are getting less stats? My hack mom with barely over 1000 stats gets nothing from black garumon. Is it cus my mega is helping ? Black agumon only increases strength
There are two different Black Garurumon to fight. The one near Logic Volcano is weaker than the one near Oghuino Wastelands. Using the Growth Burst of having a Mega shouldn't negatively effect stat gains for the rookie, though I will admit I always try to keep my partners at the same stage and age.
@@Rordrik I'm fighting guardsman at flowerbed island with less then 3000+ stats and I'm still not getting anything.. It is so weird . I'm to weak to take on the growlmons
Well the 3000 range ends with fighting the Seadramon in Mod Cape. Someone else also recommended that the Taomon (Silver) in the cabin just behind them can also be a good stepping stone on your way to the Orange WarGrowlmon.
I think I'll have to hit only the gym, because I try to follow the training spots but they never match the tutorials I get some xp in some stats or none at all, than I think "maybe I need to go to the next spot, maybe im too strong to get any stats" But than I just too weak for it wth im doing wrong ?!
The main thing about these strategies is you have to do it early as rookies and then into champions. The game severely limits gains at higher stages. When first going to new fights it is tougher. You will need to defend, use buffs, and healing items.
@@Komoty1 If you continue to have issues then you should have enough BITS by now and some people in the restaurant. Using them to help your gym gains can work a bit especially if the new areas are a little too tough.
Yeah this is a great way to make money too, so if you wanted you can easily bounce back and forth from this method to the gym/restaurant method. I find many during that type of training will do a lot of fishing to get BITs.
In hard mode it will be close, but some of them you may have to move on earlier because it makes stat gains harder. As with all difficulties it is a balance between how many stats you are gaining before you want to or feel safe to move on to harder enemies.
Im struggling a lot at the 1000-2000 mark, even with champions(And i've seen people say keep them as rookies but they always digivolve when I get to the 600 mark). My digimon barely do 200 to 300 a hit(Unless it's the special 150 OP move) and my digimon are taking 500-600 damage in return. And they're already around 1200k on each stat on top of that! It's eating up at a lot of resources(Bits and healing items) and taking overall a lot of time.(Also yes I do have defense already, but the timing for when to activate is so janky i often fail it. On top of often the other digimon getting in front of the digimon defending in mid of a spin attack from the black garurumon, which is very annoying) Am i doing something wrong or is it normal to struggle at this point?
This method will be difficult your first generation or two until you build up Bits and Tamer Skills. I generally don't try this all out until Gen 3. The reason a lot of this training has to be done as rookies is the higher stage your Digimon get the harder it is to find places to train them in battle. Especially when you get to a new Digimon in training they can hurt a lot. It isn't uncommon to need multiple healing items in the early battles. Defense works immediately after hitting the button, though if you need to chain them sometimes it can get awkward.
Thank you for the reply! (Also hope none of before seems to be a complaint to the video far from it). I just wanted to be sure it was in fact an awkward part because most I've seen is people having success with this video(One which said they managed to get megas with their first generation mon using this method). I was having a nice time, the video was very informational but got unsure if it was either a skill/error issue of my part or something others could struggle with when i got to that part. I'll keep trying! Since I only began to play it this week hah. (Also In regards to defense at times I've had certainly moments where the attacks of the enemy digimon still hit for full damage through my digimon even already having their arms raised up, I'll assume it is game jank thought lol)
@@starmaniac2197 Yeah, no worries these kinds of games have a lot to learn. My only guess if they are getting past your defense is you're panicking and telling them to do it a second time before it is done so that cancels it.
So I have seen this method explained 3 times and no matter what I do, I cannot get enough stat points to get from farming spot 1 to 2. Something always goes wrong like one will digivolve and all of a sudden the stat points I should be getting tank and the black garurumon's absolutely destroy me. Is this only viable after beating the game? I have restarted a good 4 times to try this and it just doesn't seem to work for me in the way I keep hearing it explained it should...
Your first generation will always be the hardest with fewer skills and attacks to be able to use. And yes if you Digivolve then the stat gains from many Digimon of your stage or lower will suddenly not give the stat gains anymore that you want to see. Some places that you can try between Goblimon and BlackGarurumon are the Gotsumon in the Server Desert or the RedVegimon on the way to the Mod Cape going the other way. Even my first generations of a new save file might not make it to mega. It is meant to be a game where you build up over time to get stronger and easier with each generation.
You have to be able to stop the digivolution to champion. You'll get the option as you progress through the game. I got it mid way through chapter 2. As for the start of the game you'll only have about 2 days in game to grind after rookie so you'll have to be quick. I found it easier to work out in the gym starting out.
@@MrJakle421 Yes for the very first gen and training up your Baby/In-Training in general the gym can still be useful. Find out what method works best for you.
Okay sure, the gym uses far more in-game time, but honestly I prefer it to running back and forth seeking out battles except if I'm not in the exact right area either my digimon are going to get decimated or I'm only going to get like one point to a few stats in the aftermath. The gym might be a lot less efficient as far as in-game time goes, but as far as real life time goes, I'd much rather train for a couple of minutes and get hundreds and hundreds of stat points than spend the same time battling and get like, a hundred, tops.
When I do my next playthrough I'll have to try out the gym training more. Using the gym on my first try I couldn't get past the chapter 2 Machinedamon so I had to learn these kinds of things. Though I suppose some Defense would have helped back then too I have learned a lot since then.
@@Rordrik I will say, having put some effort into battle training a newly born agumon and getting it to over 5K stats before evolution, I see where the 'gym bad battles good' viewpoint comes from. Given the aging mechanic, battle training is no doubt the only way to get truly powerful digimon. That being said, the gym is still way, way faster in terms of IRL time, so I think the two have differing good and bad points. Also I kinda cheated BC HerculesKabuterimon was still alive, so I could battle things Agumon had no chance of defeating.
Having birdramon made all the grinding much faster. Even in early game, i made full use of auto pilot and birdramon to clear the story asap. I hate wasting time walking. Money u can get more by unlocking drop item and bit acquired tamer skill. Even low level mob can drop great item like red vegiemon that drop hunk of meat that can sell for high price. And all other that drop recovery item too. Fishing is great but it waste time. If u are doing battle training might as well get the perk that benefit from battle.
Thosnreqlly dosent make sensento me it takes a ingame hour to train once whichbis the exact same time it takes tobtravel to garurumon do the battle travel back and then travel back to garurumon i dont understand how exactly that is quicker than training
Some of them are slightly longer runs than others, that is true. Some of the longer ones can be 20-30 in game minutes of walking, or less if you are using the newest version which can sprint. Though in the end it still gives more numbers to more different stats than training in the gym does. Real world time this is far longer, but gives you more time in game with powerful Digimon to get things done.
I have a major problem, I’m trying to do the exact same thing as the vid but I’m only getting 20 stats point per kill. Is it because I beat the game already? Pls help
There are two ways that could happen. A) You are not fighting strong enough enemies to give you the full +26. B) You do not have the Learning Type Tamer Skill - Skill Research which costs 15 TP and increases the maximum amount of stats you can gain from a battle.
@@salmansalah1295 Yeah, it can take a while to get enough TP for that. Just keep playing, recruiting, and doing everything you normally do and you will eventually get there.

Once you get far enough into the game to lock off different Digivolution options getting the mega you want should be quite easy with this method. Good luck.
The only way to de-digivolve in this game is to let the curse gauge fill if you are in Ultimate or Mega, or allowing your Digimon to die of old age. So yes eventually these two did die. I'm not sure if you are asking something else?
@@demianezequielbroggi5226 Yep, all of this was done on Normal mode. With the new version have even easier versions it is even easier if you play that to keep up good gains.

In the video you talk about "item that encrease stats", but i don't understand: which items are you talking about? where i can find them? because i fight against seadramon and i don't get 26 for every stats...
The main things that increase your gains from combat are the tamer skills Learn From Experience and Skill Research. Those increases your stats gained from combat. As for items increasing your stats some food can increase stats and chips can as well. I hope that helps.
@@Rordrik mmmm ok i should take a look to my tamer skills, anyway, if i'm not wrong, to get 26 for every stats, i have to use rookie or at least champions digimon, right? because right now i'm using mega, maybe that's why i don't get 26 every stats
@@walterwhite794 Being mega does not help. You have to fight much stronger enemies than what is listed to get those gains because the game tries to cap the gains of higher stage Digimon. It is why early in their lives training is important.
The game constantly gets me confused. I could easily kill the lvl 26 psychemons (not sure if it was those), but when I touched the level 27 growlmon, it melt me down. I believe not having the level parameter would be best for this game
Yeah the levels are deceiving because the level 40+ BlackAgumon are not as strong as the level 21 Saberdramon. Their stage is also important to consider. Idk if no level at all is the best then it really is complete trial and error how strong something is, which to be fair there is a lot of already for first time players.
The best moves to look for are Upgrade or Muscle Charge for buffs and Dark Spirit is the best attack in the game for raw damage. One that has all of this is Darkdramon who can be gotten by going down the Guilmon line > Growlmon > BlackWarGrowlmon > Megadramon.

I have never used them for stats, but yeah the Meteormon are pretty good BITS early game before you can get the better one like BlackWereGarurumon. I tried to get into DMO, but I just couldn't. Even as a Digimon fan and creator the grind was just too much.
So when I battle train sometimes not all the stats go up they just stay the same, is that normal, then some other times it just doesn’t up any stat except by maybe 1 and I’m not maxed out for how high it says my stats should be in the video, am I doing something wrong, I’m on 5th gen
Each Digimon that you fight can be better at training some stats more than others, so they will sometimes give you less or no gains while others stats are still going up. If that goes on too long I tend to move on. All of this grinding and video was done on normal mode, different modes will change the exact numbers you will get from each spot. Also if your Digimon become higher stages (Champion) too early it also makes it harder to train this way because the game puts harder caps on them.
Digimon do not Digivolve based on stats, but on age. Rookie's evolve generally after about three in-game days, Champion after seven days, and Ultimate usually around 12 days So you can have really high statted Digimon that are lower stages.
In trainings only have a very weak attack and typically not very good stats so they can be hard to do battle training with, the gym works just fine. Later game you will have ways to control your Digivolving routes so you can get an Agumon and Gabumon for sure.
Man its odd seeing many newbies here in the comments Most are clearly happy the battle training does work While some...not so much The video's method works even as far back as the ps4 version way back when My own videos prove it I already lost count how many generations of partners i maxed in post game already its super easy
Not much has changed from the PS4 so this method works just fine still. Late game things are pretty easy so you can mix it up. Restaurant and gym combined can break things up if you want more time to pass.
I assume you are referring to fatigue and them getting tired? Well very early you must go back to town to rest, but soon enough you can recruit Greymon and get the tent. Using is will allow you to do the one hour rest in the field, up to 10 ten times per repair at the max rank tent.
@@Rordrik do you Rest directly If They make the sweat symbols or do you wait? "example See that They become hungry in 1 Hour so make 6 Fights even If They have the sweat Drops?"
@@gsnamine3958 I do not know the exact numbers on this, but usually I will go a battle or two after the sweat drops appear. Since the amount they lose when resting is fixed and only a small portion of the bar it doesn't make a big difference to get greedy. High fatigue can make them more easily get injured or sick as well.
Yeah higher stages does make stat training hard. It seems from my experience that as long as your champions can handle the WarGrowlmon Orange you are all right, but it does like to punish those gains. Especially ultimate and mega.
Actually in Digimon World 1 and Re:Digitize this is not the ideal method. It is a lot of time in the gym usually in those games. If people are used to that and the game tells them to use the gym, it is no surprise people don't realize. Play how you want, but this is how I got by.
I always hear every one talking about the DigiEgg Polish. I honestly just get the first rank because it's cheap. The extra 1% never really seemed worth it until late. But everyone has their own styles, if it worked for you great!
i dont know how u do that... im now on my generation 6 rookies and my stats are btw 300-600 i did the same route... i dont get the stats from the first lvl 8 gobblins like u and my digimons evolve to quick to champions... help pls
You are right since I have done this path before my stats were already high when I started since the previous gen was 9999 stats but I wanted to show the whole route. You are correct that if your Digimon digivolve before your stats are high enough it can cause problems in gaining stats later. The Goblimon are the first place I always go. Other places I can think of that is that easy and maybe a little easier is you could possibly start on the Goblimon/Numemon in the other Power Plant area just off of the Nigh Plains to get started. Or possibly the Gotsumon you find as soon as you enter the Server Desert.
I go over it in my Digimon Tamer Skills video. The base amount passed down is 10% of each stat plus an additional one percent for ever rank you have in the Reverse Type skills like Digi-Polish. Up to 14%.
It helps because there is no stat cap on rookies. Generally so long as you get a bit into the Seadramon 2.5k to 3k range in rookie you should be all right. The problem is especially in Ultimate and Mega forms there is an artificial cap on your stat gains so it becomes far harder for them to gain stats.
@@setogod7 Yeah it is another thing that is not at all explained by the game, but you can notice it easily as you get further in. Gaining stats is really needed to be pushed early on in their life to get to high numbers.
Some Digimon aren't as good at giving some stats as others. One stat will not give as good of gains before others. It up to you how long you want to keep battling the same one before some stat gains get too low and you move on. Usually if 2 stats drop below +20 I start to consider it.
The main way to deal with fatigue is resting for an hour. Whether in the gym or later in the tent once you have it. The only other way I know of to reduce fatigue is to use food that will also reduce it. These are mainly drinks from the vending machines found outside the city though they can be a tad expensive early game.
conductor lemons are also a way to reduce fatigue which can be found immediately throughout several places in Nigh Plains (around the batteries sticking out of the ground in several areas)
It's kind of weird but with how easy it was to get to mega I kinda missed the grind and care it felt like you needed to do in the original digimon world. I remember pushing forwards with my centarumon into the dino region, feeling like I had really high stats but still unable to break into Ultra. On my first gen without any guides I managed to get two ultras, even snagging phoenixmon. Going to use this video to just grind past black weregarurumon and rush through the story. I do love how it's tied in so many of the digimon world games though, even bringing back the og protagonist!
All of these training spots it really depends on how low you are willing to let your gains get before moving on and the difficulty you are playing on. It is easier but may take longer if you fight each one longer.
If your still active it would be amazing to make a video on weight. There's no videos on that any where. Even though I feed my wormmon meat he doesn't gain any weight and that's the only guide j could find on gaining weight was meat Weigt is crucial to some evos it's a shame nobody mentions it
Are you having an issue that he is bugged and not gaining weight when eating or just the weight gains from meat are not enough to counteract the losses from using the bathroom? I could do a video on that. Getting weight high is usually easier in my experience than keeping it low.
Question: What if your two Digimon are on mega evolution with 11-12k HP and struggle to verse a level 30-40? I'm having a hard time doing this and I'm on chapter 2 Do I have to wait till they both die and reset to rookie evolution? 😅
Sadly yes it becomes very difficult to train up once you reach Mega without having high enough stats to fight the toughest things already. The game naturally has a cap on stat gains from lower fights as you get higher stages. So with weaker megas there is only so much you can do to fix that in chapter 2. The restaurant might have some food that can help you, but the gym will be low gains and most fights will be quite tough to get any gains from. Sadly the best way is to start at rookies and use this method. The game is cruel if you don't train early and often.
These principles can be used for your first gen. Though with a limited city, tamer skills, and buffs it will be difficult to go too far unless you are experienced in it.
@@Rordrik My second digimon died. The other is in ultimate. The rookie needs to be trained and is second generation. What do you advise on doing? Also I dont understand the stats thing. You kill Goblimon until stats are around 500. You mean each stat like STR, HP, MP etc or do you mean all of them combined?
When your Digimon are on different stages the younger one does get a large boost to stat gains to catch up. If you have defend you can bring along the younger one into tougher fights still. I typically try to even out their life, but you don't have many tools to do that early in the game unfortunately. So long as you have the ultimate I generally would recommend trying to progress in story and recruiting. The stats recommended are roughly where your gains will drop off in Str. Sta, Wis, and Speed. So for Goblimon if your Str is above 500 you will not get much Str from defeating them. Your HP and MP will be many times the other four stats as it goes up much faster.
@@Drake00000010 so pretty much the training is for the rookie evolutions. Theres no limit on stats gain from battling for rookies and I think maybe Mega. So the numbers he is showing on the videos is around what you can get up to from fighting that particular digimon. So in the case of the gabumon once you see your stats hit 500 you will notice that you are not getting 26 points a stat after battle thats when you know to move on. From a different video I watched that helped me Its recommend to gain battle skills to maximize money and stats gain from battle and certain other skills as well. I also recommend gettinf those vending machines to lower their stress levels when it gets high from fighting and once you got the $$$ to start with the restaurant eating when they get hungry to really boost life and stats
If you are struggling to use this method to gain stats while in the ranges specified it is likely that they are too high of a level. Stat gains get capped hard as they become ultimate and mega, so training early is crucial to getting high stats.
Thank you for some honest feedback. I guess I figured I needed to explain why the typical game advice wasn't accurate and might be a little long winded. My other videos are so long I could probably use some attention to shortening things up in general.
people dont realize playing this game actually trains the player, you go through the 5 stages of grief over and over again until you become immune and you suddenly realize that hey its not too bad.. just like in real life, if something bad happens, move away from what makes you unhappy and start over
Moving away would just be to stop playing it and go play Cyber Sleuth instead, right? 😂
Yeah it tries to make you feel tied to these Digimon and get very sad when they day so you're ready to grind them up again for hours. You're too numb to realize all the time you are wasting.
@@Rordrik yes move away and find another digimon game hahahaha
@@urekmazino5125 I am never been a big fan of the original Digimon World style games, though I think this is the best of those.
I certainly play other Digimon games much more.
Yes! You nailed it.
It’s to learn about the cycle of things and learn to let go.
Except digimons will always reborn physically
Im running on my 3rd gen rookie, age 1&2 days and got around 2500-3000 stats for both of them now. Trying to reach at least 8500-9000 stats hopefully this guide will help me achieve that. :)
I have tips for whoever starting this game.
The last for 3rd gen.
Wow thank you for the kind words. As most people are I'm not a fan of my listening to my own voice, so hearing people that enjoy it is nice to hear.
Started a new game to implement this and what a game changer! Thank you
I'm glad it helped. I know I didn't make it far into chapter 2 before I had to learn some of these tricks.
Though I hope in the next digimon world style game they just give the partner digimon a base level to scale the difficulty instead of chaotic stat
insanity that is hard for the devvs and players to balance the difficulty around.
First time playing Digimon World Next Order on Switch (out today)
Your videos gonna help me a lot thank you!
I hope it helps. It is quite the tough game to go into blind. I know I had to look things up to get through it my first time.
You make It look so easy that i believe now, that It is possible. Thank you
It will take some time, usually a couple hours, but you can do it. Even if you don't max out your first try this will get you strong enough to handle many things in the game. I believe in you.
I've been struggling with the post game. so thanks for the metal seadramon tip. I needed that.
A good stepping stone between seadramon and orange wargrowlmon is the silver taomon in the captain’s cabin, and he’s on the way haha
Yeah he would be right there and he is not far from either exit to the area. I have not used that one, but it would make sense.
I may not be able to follow the full path because of map limitations but getting 1,400 stats on the first generation feels much better then what I originally did
This also is freeing up TP for more interesting skills early on
@@cendregaming3200 Sounds like you are enjoying it much more.
If I wasn’t exposed to this video randomly then I would still believe the training hall was the better choice given, when you first start, you are given very little stats on return for your effort but that changed after a couple hours of play
you get 9999 on first gen with this.
@@Rordrik can this method be use at the start of the game? Cause some areas you mentioned is post game
@@Bahamut84 This general idea can be used from the start. Though without the best items, tent, and tamer skills it is much more difficult to do it solely. Early game the gym will still have a place in training, just it isn't as efficient in the in game time usage to let you get more done.
How did u get buffed at start of fight 4:14?
@ sorry, bad wording. I meant I was training using battles until ultimate/champion.
After 50 hours and recruiting everyone I can to the city until this point I realised I’ve been playing the entire game wrong
Thanks a bunch for the video!
Hey you were just following what the game told you to do. You did well to get that far without looking things up. I had to look things up to get past the first Machinedramon.
Congratulations on the job! Seeing two Rookies destroy an Ultimate in a fight surprised me.
Yeah it takes a bit of time and effort to get the rookies that strong, but it is certainly doable. It gets easier and easier with each generation you do.
Numbers, well timed orders and item use, plus hard work and properly caring for them
Are what matters to win
Also being persevere
The restaurant if u have money is so strong that u can max your digimon only in gym ( and restaurant)
@@Rordrik Understood, I'm playing it on my PS5, just wanted to make sure in case I missed something haha. Thank you, my fellow Digidestined!
@@Jeff_H86 I honestly have yet to play the new version, but from all I have heard there isn't anything more that was changed.
Good luck. Once you get into the rhythm of training it takes a bit, but isn't hard.
thanks for the info. I didn't even realize my mega lvl digimon had stats in the 1000's lol.
Yeah you can make it to some mega forms fairly easy, but they won't be able to do much with those stats past chapter 1. Keep training up and enjoy.
I was wondering why I was having issues following these guides, I didn't know that champions and megas had caps on experience
You mention that this strategy is not so good with a first generation of digimon, so I was wondering:
- At what generation should I start following this guide?
- How should I train my 1st generation of digimon? (Right now I have 2 champions at about 700-800 in each stat)
- I see that you have rookies almost the whole video, I should mostly train when I still have rookies?
Trick is get "BLOCK/Defend" tamer skill on your first rookie day,
By recruiting patamon, palmon, kuwagamon, wormon and numemon, also by collecting materials.
You do that with rookie digimon?
@@bayumahendra1797 Battle training starts at rookie and continues through most of it. They will eventually grow up into Champions but so long as you get far enough before then you should be fine.
Since it pauses time, how often did you even actually have to feed the digimon during all of that?
Im on gen 16 or 17 and my digimon cap at around 60k hp and 5500 in all stats
Granted ive been able yo raise the health by 10k and all other stats by 1k for the past 2 gens but im gonna try this on my new partners
Thanks
I know I certainly had to look this stuff up back when I played in order to get my Digimon some decent stats, so don't feel bad. They will keep growing slowly stronger the gym training way, but this is so much more efficient at least in terms of Digimon Life spans. It has proven effective for me and many others, so I hope it helps.
@@Rordrik yep will do

I’m on my 3 gen digimons but when I start from the first location I’m not getting no experience at all
It is all based on your current stats and your Digimon's Stage. This only works if you start while they are still rookies because the game makes higher stage Digimon harder to train.
If your stats are high enough go try the next area. If you can't beat it some training in the gym and/or the restaurant meals can help your stat gains.
@@Rordrikwhat the best meals to have help gain stats
@@southelgin25 Early on I use Colorful Mushroom Soup a lot because it gives some extended Life too from Renamon. She also has Marinated Forest Veg if you want to train MP, WIS, or SPD in the gym.
While Meramon has Volcano Meat if you're training HP, STR, and STA.
The best tutorial I ever seen
Thank you, that is quite high praise. I have made more and will hopefully continue to make them to help others learn these games.
@@Rordrik Thank you for your answer! So I guess a combination of battle ans gym training is the way to go if I aim for a specific digitation. :)
How do you deal with the fatigue? 😊
There are a few way you can do it. Mainly I just use the tent while out and about to rest for an hour or rest at the gym if in town. Certain foods can also reduce it like fruits that you can find lying around like Cheerful Apples.
How i can eliminate a digimon in early game? Unfortunately i have 1 mega and 1 rookie and i want to raise them at the same time
Early in the game this can be hard to correct. Later on you will have more tools to help fix their age difference.
General training failures such as untreated wounds, failure to feed, and such things can help lower a Digimon's lifespan. If you fill the poop gauge they will become Sukamon which could also even things out.
Once you have access to Devil Chips or find them they will shave a full day of life off a Digimon as well.
sorry, i'm new to this type of digimon games, i've only played cyber sleuth that's way more simple as monster rising, so my question could be really stupid:
what's the point of all of this if your digimon will die anyway and then you have to start all over again? is there a way to prevent dying? when it dies, will it evolve faster? cause all i cared in digimon games was to had my mega level digimons and be big and powerful, but what's the point if it lasts 2 hours and then i'm back to rookie?
@@Rordrik oh cool
Did you know the vpet formula is based off of tamagotchi? And also did you know bot vpet(aka Digimon) and tamagotchi are made by the same people?
The digimon games never started as a story focused rpg like the Story series
It actually started as Vpet, even their very first video game on the ps1 uses the vpet formula
Heck the digimon available in that specific game are from the first generation of Vpets, said first gen vpets have 5 versions with each having a different set of digimon
Heck unlike next 0rder nor world 1, vpet has no way to tell you their stats
Only their weight, fullness and health
And let me tell you, when they get sick or injured, they get super fussy and not want treatment
How soon can you access the “end game” areas (understand Metalseadramon is only after main story)… I’m in chapter 2 and just got to orange wargrowlmon, wondering how far I can get
You can defeat up to Blackweregarurumon at that point. Everything else past that requires a new area to open up in the story in chapter 4.
I was just wondering should my hp and mp be around the same as all my other stats or?
Naturally they should be a bit higher than the rest of your stats as they cap out at 99,999 instead of 9,999 like the others. Plus you gain 260 in them for a perfect fight.
I rarely bother to max them because it usually takes longer. For most of my training my HP/MP are about 3 times the rest of the stats.
@@Rordrik what do you think my hp and mp should be when all my other stats are around 700
@@trippypanda911 It varies quite a bit from Digimon to Digimon if they have more MP or HP, but so long as you have at least 3k or so you should be all right. Usually you'll have more like 5k.
just start dl this game in steam..can u give tips for newbie for this game bro?
I've definitely been thinking of make a guide to your first gen video. As for early tips make sure to always get your daily items from Koromon, Palmon, and Numemon in town. Tentomon is great early on to recruit to get the item shop so you can have items. Always remember these games have the built in timer before your Digimon die of old age so training is important but once they're strong enough story and recruitment is important.
@@Rordrik thx for your tips bro..so for getting stats fighting is better than gym bro??
@@ximstation3886 The gym does still have its place, but for gaining stats more efficiently so you can get more done in the game the battle method works better. You still need the gym to train up to rookie and early game you might not have the skills and items to constantly battle so it is most useful early. The more tamer skills you gain the better battle training is and is sustainable.
What generation are your digimon I had like gen 12 digimon but had to start over cause some stole my ps4 and game so I just got it on pc.
The Digimon shown in this video are Generation 5 I believe. I have beaten this game a couple times, so have a few save files.

Attack Utility X and Defense Utility X make the later fights go a lot smoother and quicker - atleast until your stats catch up!
Yes they are incredibly helpful and do stack with buffing abilities to allow your Digimon to effectively have stats well above 9999 during battles.
does it stack with support skill likes burning heart or earth coat?
@@ossu7496 Plugins do stack with attacks that raise your stats. Though if you have two attacks that both effect the same stat the newer one will override the old one even if it is weaker.
Help! Im only in the first zone and only my str is getting that 26 point gain? How do i get them all across?
@@Rordrik it does help, thank you!!!
@@mishu2105 Those numbers will be a bit more lenient if you are playing on Easy mode and more strict or even tougher on Hard Mode. The main difference is how hard it is to gain stats in the different difficulties.
I'm playing for the first time and im struggling with the first training spot😅 is there any other ones that are a little easier

Thank you very much my friend 😃👍
If the game isn't going to tell you, someone has to. I'm glad I was able to help.
In all the time I've played this game I've never even noticed they changed it to In Training 1 and 2, I always just called them Baby stage lol
You can also max out your hp and mp

Could someone maybe tell me what the TF stat means?
TF stands for Training Failures. These can happen by failing to go to the bathroom, failing to feed them when hungry, not taking care of their fatigue and such things will count as Training Failures.
@Rordrik think you 👍
Best video on the topic. Thank you
Thanks I am glad it has helped many people.
In my first gen hard mode
I make my rookie special evolve to numemon and geremon
then etemon and monzaemon lastly 2 platinum numemon at age 11 and finish chapter 2 at age 20
They need low stat to evolve
You cant do that grinding at first gen because map progress, story, building upgrade and low money
With ultimate Digimon, Digimon at desert and plains wild not target you
Then go outside town to quest.. and training again while waiting taomon quest and upgrade building... training until Mega and beat chapter 1 and 2... And open all first map

What do I do if my rookies despite being the stats yours are, fighting the same digimon
are getting less stats? My hack mom with barely over 1000 stats gets nothing from black garumon. Is it cus my mega is helping ?
Black agumon only increases strength
There are two different Black Garurumon to fight. The one near Logic Volcano is weaker than the one near Oghuino Wastelands. Using the Growth Burst of having a Mega shouldn't negatively effect stat gains for the rookie, though I will admit I always try to keep my partners at the same stage and age.

The main thing about these strategies is you have to do it early as rookies and then into champions. The game severely limits gains at higher stages. When first going to new fights it is tougher. You will need to defend, use buffs, and healing items.
@@Rordrik well damn... time to reset again friends *loads gun* xD
@@Komoty1 If you continue to have issues then you should have enough BITS by now and some people in the restaurant. Using them to help your gym gains can work a bit especially if the new areas are a little too tough.
If u don't have money this are good advise to max up
Yeah this is a great way to make money too, so if you wanted you can easily bounce back and forth from this method to the gym/restaurant method. I find many during that type of training will do a lot of fishing to get BITs.
Do these stat ranges still hold up on Hard mode?

There are two ways that could happen.
A) You are not fighting strong enough enemies to give you the full +26.
B) You do not have the Learning Type Tamer Skill - Skill Research which costs 15 TP and increases the maximum amount of stats you can gain from a battle.

I haven't made it to end game yet and I'm playing my first playthrough what is the best Evolution line for the end of the game
The best moves to look for are Upgrade or Muscle Charge for buffs and Dark Spirit is the best attack in the game for raw damage. One that has all of this is Darkdramon who can be gotten by going down the Guilmon line > Growlmon > BlackWarGrowlmon > Megadramon.

ill prob wait for wemod to max the stats, should i need it,considering girnding in dmo was way worse unless you have the correct tamer lv which was the actual grind there (doesnt help there are bots stealing your mobs) also that meteormon at the volcano near the pidomons/ the entrance of fire circuit arent too bad either if you have around the 700 stats and they drop you like 2-3k a battle + aeo heal chips)
@@Rordrik Alright, thank you, I knew about the champion and higher stats but I didn’t know about the others, so thank you
How come your digimon hasn’t digivole yet
Digimon do not Digivolve based on stats, but on age. Rookie's evolve generally after about three in-game days, Champion after seven days, and Ultimate usually around 12 days So you can have really high statted Digimon that are lower stages.
I’m here now buying the game first time player teach me the way lol
It is not the easiest game to figure out and get started in.
Good luck, with a bit of practice and guides I'm sure you'll be able to do just fine.
I was thinking i want to get Agumon and Gabumon so i thought fighting with the in trainings 2 until i get Agumon and Gabumon stats correctly
In trainings only have a very weak attack and typically not very good stats so they can be hard to do battle training with, the gym works just fine. Later game you will have ways to control your Digivolving routes so you can get an Agumon and Gabumon for sure.
@@Rordrik well i was trying to do that but they automatically digivolve both to the same digimon saberdramon wtf
@@Rordrik and i am like why can't we get Agumon or Gabumon that's the problem we also need the Digi extension pack
@@Rordrik what stats should i focus more on?
Man its odd seeing many newbies here in the comments
Most are clearly happy the battle training does work
While some...not so much
The video's method works even as far back as the ps4 version way back when
My own videos prove it
I already lost count how many generations of partners i maxed in post game already its super easy
Not much has changed from the PS4 so this method works just fine still. Late game things are pretty easy so you can mix it up. Restaurant and gym combined can break things up if you want more time to pass.
The battle method honestly is more efficient in terms of stats gained per ingame time
How do you handle the exhaustion?
@@Rordrik thanks alot x3
If you're further than Rookie stage you're pretty screwed for stat grinding unless you're in the post-game.
Yeah higher stages does make stat training hard. It seems from my experience that as long as your champions can handle the WarGrowlmon Orange you are all right, but it does like to punish those gains. Especially ultimate and mega.
wow ive been playing this whole game wrong since digimon world 1
Actually in Digimon World 1 and Re:Digitize this is not the ideal method. It is a lot of time in the gym usually in those games. If people are used to that and the game tells them to use the gym, it is no surprise people don't realize.
Play how you want, but this is how I got by.
Just start with the parameter inheritance. You'll be slapping level 20's with your rookies in no time
I always hear every one talking about the DigiEgg Polish.
Or possibly the Gotsumon you find as soon as you enter the Server Desert.
how much stats are pass over?
I go over it in my Digimon Tamer Skills video.
The base amount passed down is 10% of each stat plus an additional one percent for ever rank you have in the Reverse Type skills like Digi-Polish. Up to 14%.
All these training spot, our digimons must be in rookie stage??
It helps because there is no stat cap on rookies. Generally so long as you get a bit into the Seadramon 2.5k to 3k range in rookie you should be all right. The problem is especially in Ultimate and Mega forms there is an artificial cap on your stat gains so it becomes far harder for them to gain stats.
@@Rordrik oh thats how you where getting to 5200 on wargrowlmon ornange mine are caped at around 3k mark well bum
@@setogod7 Yeah it is another thing that is not at all explained by the game, but you can notice it easily as you get further in. Gaining stats is really needed to be pushed early on in their life to get to high numbers.
why did i only get 20 wis from seadramon?
Some Digimon aren't as good at giving some stats as others. One stat will not give as good of gains before others. It up to you how long you want to keep battling the same one before some stat gains get too low and you move on. Usually if 2 stats drop below +20 I start to consider it.
What's the best way to deal with fatigue?
The main way to deal with fatigue is resting for an hour. Whether in the gym or later in the tent once you have it. The only other way I know of to reduce fatigue is to use food that will also reduce it. These are mainly drinks from the vending machines found outside the city though they can be a tad expensive early game.
conductor lemons are also a way to reduce fatigue which can be found immediately throughout several places in Nigh Plains (around the batteries sticking out of the ground in several areas)
@@twilimarlena3968 Good point any fruit can lower fatigue. Another common one that can be found in even low level areas are the Cheerful Apples.
Bkgrmon i would say more like 1200 than 1000.
All of these training spots it really depends on how low you are willing to let your gains get before moving on and the difficulty you are playing on. It is easier but may take longer if you fight each one longer.
If your still active it would be amazing to make a video on weight. There's no videos on that any where. Even though I feed my wormmon meat he doesn't gain any weight and that's the only guide j could find on gaining weight was meat
Weigt is crucial to some evos it's a shame nobody mentions it
Are you having an issue that he is bugged and not gaining weight when eating or just the weight gains from meat are not enough to counteract the losses from using the bathroom?
I could do a video on that. Getting weight high is usually easier in my experience than keeping it low.
@@Rordrik it could be that, I fixed it by using hunk of meat. But using normal meat they were always below 15
@@sussbob use the baby strawberry for +5 weight, one feed can usually get you +15g
Question: What if your two Digimon are on mega evolution with 11-12k HP and struggle to verse a level 30-40?
I'm having a hard time doing this and I'm on chapter 2
Do I have to wait till they both die and reset to rookie evolution?
Is this for first gen or more?
My stats always stuck at 2k, my digimon keep dying
If you are struggling to use this method to gain stats while in the ranges specified it is likely that they are too high of a level. Stat gains get capped hard as they become ultimate and mega, so training early is crucial to getting high stats.
Its a great guide but damn it was frustrating at the start of the video it felt like you were deliberately beating around the bush 😵💫
Thank you for some honest feedback. I guess I figured I needed to explain why the typical game advice wasn't accurate and might be a little long winded. My other videos are so long I could probably use some attention to shortening things up in general.
@@Rordrik It was still a very informative guide and I can’t wait to apply it when I play again, thank you for the content.
