One of the best testing methodologies for smart products I've come across. No installation and monitoring deviations between the two tested products. That's how it's supposed to be done. Thank you. I'm primarily looking at the Ring Pro 2, but considering others, and your review provided just what I needed to make final decision (Pro 2) now that I know what to expect. Much appreciated!
Wired is still the best way to go. Spend the money on a good system because this camera will capture the most detail of people coming up to your house. As always thanks again for all of your hard work!
Just ordered the Pro 2. Like the wired feature. Have the Pro model now. Main reason for the upgrade is the Head to Toe and the prerecording. Thank you for another informative video.
Your videos are AMAZING! You helped me decide on getting an arlo for myself about a year ago and now you just helped me decide what ring doorbell to get my parents for Christmas!
I never leave comments on videos. But dang man you did great on this and it 100% made up my mind to spend $50 moor on the pro 2. Thank you for the video
Love your videos and how thorough you are with comparisons. Your content has been helpful when picking which products to buy. I have been interested in the Logitech Circle View Doorbell and wonder how it would compare to other products that you have tried when put through your normal tests. Please consider reviewing this one in the future. Thanks
I have some very positive comments about Ring. I have been shopping for security cameras recently. My home was badly damaged by hurricane Laura last August. We aren't able to live at our home while it is being completely rebuilt, mostly on the inside. We hope to move back into our home in about two more months. Someone stole my Ring video doorbell 2 in the garage and video doorbell 3 on the front door. I found out first from Ring when they notified me that someone tried to activate my front doorbell and they had blocked them from doing so. So long story short. Ring is going to replace both of my doorbells for free. Now, what other company would do that? I am very grateful. I am through shopping around, my next purchases will be Ring devices.
First off, sorry to hear about your house being damaged and on top of that your Ring doorbells stolen..but Ring will take care of you. They have pretty good customer service in my experience.
My ring pro 2 is worth Every single penny you pay for it it works great notifications are on time it even gives you the option to turn off night mode the only hiccup I have is at the LED in front of the camera is very dark and sometimes the camera gets hot
First off all, love your video. It helped me to decide to go for the 2 pro. I gave you a big thumb up and subscribed. Second thing, did anyone ever noticed you look a lot like LayedbackFDR? This guy does a great breakdown, when it comes to numerous rap songs. Got you both in the top 10 Keep making video's like this one. In my opinion you do a better job than ring themselves. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I had nothing but problems with Ring Pro2. Hard wired and revolving light extremely dim so you cannot see during the daytime. Then connection was poor and believe me it's not my wifi... I have super wifi... They said it was not getting enough voltage. So electrician came and although the transformer seemed fine, I got a new Transformer. 19.2 volts at door (only needs 16v)... The Ring Pro2 constantly dropped out... Just awful experience, so I got Ring 4 and it's works beautifully. Would not recommend Ring Pro 2. Too many issues!
Great comparison video as always. Hope you can review the new Eufy outdoor cam pro, and compare it to the Reolink Lumus, and the Wyze cam v3. Thank you for making these videos, they are really helpful for everyone worried about keeping their family and home safe. Cheers, stay safe!
Hey I'm sorry if I missed it but I was wondering if you were still planning on making that video on how to install without precious doorbell setup, I don't have one and that video would be super helpful!! Thank you!!
The Android App used for this doorbell has received many ONE-star reviews during the last months. I think it is important to include the App in your review as they work in tandem.
Bought both and returned the Ring 4, it was really disappointing. Ring Pro 2 was great but I had to drill a couple holes here and there to run the power adapter through to my bedroom power plugs but well worth it, so much better than the Ring 4 imo.
I just got the Ring 4. Overall happy with it except how it doesn't pick up people at times. I can walk out and picks me up but then Amazon shows up and doesn't pick them up.
Thank you for all that information. I don’t know if you can answer this question. If you have to buy a smart door bell camera what those you get? Ring bell 4 our Arlo ? Thank you
Hi, i recently found your channel and I really like your reviews. I have a question, I recently bought a Ring Pro 2 but the back side of it is really warm or hot at times and I’m wondering if this is a device defect or a transformer issue that may be affecting the Ring doorbell as a result. I had the Ring Doorbell 2 and never had this issue. From what I’ve seen on the app settings on device health for some reason the transformer voltage fluctuates from 16v to 15v (when I finished installing at first it showed the voltage was 60v but I think it must have been a fluke). What are your thoughts and what would you recommend? Thank you (my door/doorbell is in a shaded area and my shaded wall isnt hot despite the Arkansas summer weather, it’s a brick wall btw)
I’ve been updating my home security and have found your reviews extremely helpful. Thank you so much! I do have a question I’m hoping you can answer. I have the ring pro 2 on the front door with the special jumper in the chime box. If I want to add wired ring to the back door too do I need to use a jumper on the rear door chime too?. Thanks again!
If you have the Pro 2, it should have the power kit...anyways, as to your question, yes or just wire it together with your front door...meaning just use the “front” and “trans”
I have some questions. My old hard-wire doorbell is in a poor location for a camera. The opposite wall, which is a better location, would be extremely difficult to hard-wire and/or run power to. If I went with a battery operated doorbell, but yet kept my hard-wire traditional doorbell, would the new camera doorbell work if people only pressed the old doorbell? Would I get notifications and video clips if no one ever pressed the camera doorbell? What problems, if any, would I have with that set-up? I understand that if someone pressed the camera doorbell only my chime would not go off...and I'm ok with that.
@@LifeHackster buddy I can pull up hours on my phone that I can fast forward. Im just saying maybe there is something going on but I can. its ring 3 I think the 4 is a downgrade to be honest, at least from everything I have seen of it and my experience with mine. its not perfect but I also have other systems in place. The visual of the ring deters on its own, I think most folks use poor camera placement, I put mine up at almost neck level so folks see it right away and it detects way faster. also it gives them the feeling they are watched right away which they are, except to those that know they should be there.
Yes, you can but it will still have battery features like using it's PIR sensor and the 4 second low resolution pre-roll unlike their Pro, Pro2 or wired doorbell which uses camera based detection and true full resolution 6 sec. pre-roll.
@@LifeHackster, the quality seems fine when I tested on Doorbell 4, nothing significant when live or view pre-recorded. Just can't justify on 2 Pro price. Quality of your WIFI definitely play huge part for the video quality.
I had the Ring Doorbell 2 installed with my ADT Pulse system. It's pretty much been garbage the entire time. I've got awesome high-speed wifi, but can only successfully connect to the Ring Doorbell 2 about a third of the time, and notifications have been known to come MINUTES after the event. I like the idea of the thing, I just want it to work properly. It looks like the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 is a significant step up from what I have, but I still see people in the comments section commenting on poor connectivity and performance, which would kind of make the thing useless. What is your opinion/experience with regard to connectivity and reliability of performance?
Ring wired cameras like the pro and the Pro2 always have the pre-roll.. or pre-recording ..6 seconds..these cameras are always ON so when motion is detected, it will add 6 seconds of buffered memory prior to the motion event.
Everything wired doesn't always come out on top. Look at battery powered tools, cameras, cell phones, etc. If a certain brand can't keep up the times thats on them.
Not with WIFI security cameras... because of the type of motion detection that it uses..and a battery powered camera cannot and will not be feasible for 24/7 recording unlike a wired one.
well that's awkward. I'm using a wireless ring, don't know what version but it cost 99$ i'm guessing ring 1, 2020 edition and my live feed doesn't lag like the one you're showing here the ring 4, mine looks pretty decent and better
Really finding a hard time picking a wireless video door bell. Unfortunately I don't have an existing wired doorbell. What wireless video door bell you like the most??

Once again, when someone says, "LONG story short," please keep it short.
Please do a review on the Ring Doorbell Elite
If they will release an updated model, I probably will.

I really like your review on the ring doorbell pro 2 but i do not have wire connections
Great video comparison. Really helpful!
I noticed that the pro 2 night time footages are much dimmer and the colors are less vibrant than the original pro
Yes...that is one of my concerns.
If you have to keep charging up the battery, then the wired is better
The battery does hold up for a couple weeks though
What drains the battery?
so the 4's preroll can't be HD/HQ if it was wired?

If u could pick just one ring doorbell what would it be?
Did you rotate your doormat so the welcome was the right way round for the video? 🙂
Do you have to have some kind of chime with the Ring Pro 2 ?
No.. but what you might be hearing on the echo show demo was the chime from Alexa itself.

Great video. Can I put two of the ring video doorbell wired to the same chime box? Thanks!
Yes you can, just name it different.
I'm assuming your traditional chime box..Yes, you can jump and use also the rear terminal on the transformer.
Do any of these features require a Paid Subscription?
thank u for helping make my decision!!!
