Jake's guitar went out just as he was blazing into the solo - instead of stopping or walking off stage they were all smiles, Josh continued working the crowd & Danny kept the rhythm going while Sam stepped forward with some improvised shredding on the bass. A technician changed guitars for Jake and connected him, whereupon he picked up right where he left off and the band finished the song like true champions. It only took them 40-45 seconds to work through it, but I could see that we have an uncommon band of professionals here!

In this song Highway Tune Josh Kiszka opens up with a yell, which is to me the most similar to Robert Plant's vocals. Unfortunately many fans of rock music have critisized (rather abused) GVF for an all over copying of LZ's music. I fear due to this, Josh K. began to avoid sounding similar to Robert P. ( Perhaps only unconciously). In any case: It's a pitty that so many people followed the impulse of wanting to destroy everything which might get equal quality concerning the characteristics of their idols. I like bands, who play music they want to hear and celebrate what they love to listen themselves.

I think their stuff sounds very Zeppelin-esque and I love it for that, but there is no reasonable comparison I can draw between them and AC/DC any deeper than it's an older rock style and their lead guitarist often uses a vintage SG. To be honest I think Greta Van Fleet's style predates AC/DC's by quite a few years, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I seen them open up for the foo fighters in Ottawa,Canada. They opened with this and blew the place up! It was awesome to see so many people who didn't know them blown away by their performance.
These young men are simply incredible. You hear the guitar is out of tune. Jake waits until the vocals come in. Sam carrys the rhythm on the bass, Jake tunes up, and comes in just in time for the chorus. Absolute pros at this...
I listened to an interview of theirs and the interviewer went on to say that the pinnacle bands in the 60s/70s reinterpreted blues and soul in their own way and Greta reinterpreted the reinterpretation. They all agreed. As do I. I seriously hope this band from no-wheres Michigan is etched into the epics of forever with the likes of Zep, Queen, Hendrix, and the Who.

I seen them open up for the foo fighters in Ottawa,Canada. They opened with this and blew the place up! It was awesome to see so many people who didn't know them blown away by their performance.
They sound really good live, would go see them.

I listened to an interview of theirs and the interviewer went on to say that the pinnacle bands in the 60s/70s reinterpreted blues and soul in their own way and Greta reinterpreted the reinterpretation. They all agreed. As do I. I seriously hope this band from no-wheres Michigan is etched into the epics of forever with the likes of Zep, Queen, Hendrix, and the Who.
Well, no - they are nowhere near the epic greatness of those four you mentioned. But they are great for sure! And hopefully in the still early stages of a long career!
