So you want classic rock to come back, but when a band shows up you don’t like them because they sound like a certain classic rock band?
Besides how many times has zeppelin been in court for ripping off another artist?
Mason C it’s not that we’re angry that they sound like a classic rock band, it’s that they sound EXACTLY like the best rock band ever created.
Completely different
Exactly!!!
aHeroicPeasant Who gives a dam who they do and don’t sound like, at least it’s good and not RAP!
@@ronniefrutschi2011 You don't know real hiphop/rap. 1, rap is great and rich in history. Eyedea, Slug, Slick Rick, Cane, Big Boi?! Get real. 2, I agree with the original comment. Everyone always has to complain.
@@Grim_93 yeah so go check Rival Sons Pressure and Time it's sounds very similar to the great band you mentioned as well there's many bands inspired by Zep but people seems to say shit only about Greta uh it doesn't make sense... the lead singer has a vocal range similar to Plant so what? Is his voice he can't help that
Is common in rock scene singers who sound alike.. just cause recalls Plant and Zep who are big names people go nuts and just decide hate rather than enjoy also
Greta has many influences Zep is just one among many others
Sad that there's people who doesn't know the difference between influences/inspirations and plagiarism (which was what Zep did in many of their songs specially in lyrics copy cat most of them! Greta write their own stuff the lead singer may be young but he is an avid writer and reader most of his life he studied and writed short movies filmmaking was his first passion some songs are inspired by the scripts he writed or by philosophers and experiences they lived they all grew up around a lot of literature and roots/classic rock music of course, when they do covers they credit the original artist Zep ripped off stuff and credited themselves as the writers on the albums
Anyways people who dislike them are minority won't stop them moving forward sorry there's new breed in town and are very talented

She had The Final Cut of my birthday cake and on my mother's half, that was A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Another bad memory was when my mother used to teach maths and she would have different bells for different sums. The worst sounding bell that used to give me nightmares was called The Divison Bell. When the fuck did rock go away?
I'd say nirvana but that's not a popular opinion...honestly just about any band that whines about their girlfriends and social status and stupid first world problems. whining about this shit is for the blues, which ironically if cobain had a modicum of blues influence it likely would've ruined nirvana's vibe
So basically what you're saying then is rock is only rock when it is the one singular mainstream.
well no not really, rush sure isn't mainstream, even here in canada and they're a great rock band. i mean more so rock has a certain quality of strength to it, even fleetwood mac had some balls, though i'm not sure that helps my case because they sing about not banging each other anymore lol. the grunge era kinda just had a bunch bunch of depressing tunes and lyrical stuff; Jeremy, Rooster (just about any nirvana and alice in chians tune) and they were mainstream as fuck. i mostly have it out for cunts with fuzzy guitars and sing about their depressing or whiny shit.

No discouraging words here... Glad to see the next generation isn't all consumed by the machine.... Keep up the good work guys... You make all of us old rockers proud... Glad your dad exposed you all to the classics!!!!
Brian lentz I'm glad my dad showed me the classics. I can't stand pop music or hip hop, or whatever it's called, and I'm not even 18 yet. I like the good stuff, that had some backbone to it, and had some skill that was required to play. Now, you just walk into a studio, and you have one guy doing things on a mixer and then one person singing, and that makes "music" but it has no rythm, no consistent beat, and in general are just about the same as I could make with a dead chicken skull and a harmonica.
Timothy Turner Pretty ignorant of you that you think pop and hip hop are the same .-.
Timothy Turner Plus there have been beautiful productions using only "machines". The art of sampling is just as tough as playing instruments.
Timothy Turner I mean....the beatles were "pop". I get what you mean if you mean the mainstream pop in the charts now, but I think it's impossible to hate something with such a vague classification that could in theory be anything. Also there are/were plenty of very talented musicians and lyricists in hip hop
Abhinav Parashar i agree there is an art of instudio production and even a science but you really shouldnt call a kid ignorant because he doesnt like wimpy no back bone music that someone isnt actually producing the sound from a musical instrument you are feeling.... Very one sided of you!!!! Who the fuck are you to call someone ignorant????
Sounds like classic rock in the modern era. Such a good sound!
Mark Senn My thoughts exactly. It felt retro yet current and fresh. I’m a fan.
This is EXACTLY the kind of music I want to hear from the new generation! Hats off, keep it up!
Yeah let's do the same music people did in the 70's but without the feel and originality they had back then... I want new music, not bad copy of the past
@@tdb517 I dont think they are a bad copy of the past! And btw if this can replace the shit pop music of today I will be more than happy even to accept the bad copies!
@@tdb517 exactly. Zeppelin was a super group with a generationally exceptional musician at each post who did something unique and new (cough, with a little plagiarism thrown in cough). This is a nice homage to what was done but also proof that there are no more heroes left
@@adamrosner7736 That just shows you don't listen to new music. There are exceptional musicians today, in my opinion even more than there ever was because of how easy it has become to create and share quality recordings. Jazz and hip hop are at their peaks, there are tons of hyper talented young musicians making incredible music. Just one recent example : JD Beck and Domi. Super young, super talented, unique and new.
@@adamrosner7736 “no more hero’s left”
You are the type of person that is going to ruin the next generation. Stuck in a time far gone, and blind to the millions that are doing exactly what zeppelin did just in a different form. Just because there isn’t the exact same music does not mean we’re out of legends. You just haven’t looked hard enough
I’m 31 and love classic rock, glad its not dead, keep rocking, we need more bands to do this, totally 70s 80s vibes
Same! Brings back memories listening to the radio with my pops. I was born in 92 as well.
Same here! I’m 41 years old and I love classic rock!! They brought it back!! He is even playing the Gibson SG! 🤘 I have one

I swear, the first time this played on some random spotify playlist i found, i thought "wtf, Led Zeppelin is back?"
I thought is was some Zep tune I had missed somehow.....Loving this band.
No kidding guys. I thought the samething
Mark Garcia me too...
No way Robert Plant can hit those notes these days.
Daniel Suzuki Silva same here but today I found out they're the from the town right next to mine
For so long to the Lord I would pray
That the Zeppelin would return one day
To my surprise, my ears heard a treat
What I really wanted was Greta Van Fleet

I saw them back in the 1770s right after the independence. Hell of a show

Sounds like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin had a love child. I like it.
Just the fact that you put AC/DC as a comparison proves that you don't have musical knowledge
@@jens-r8l there is a reason... Even as a die hard Zeppelin fan I must remind you, in 41 years of their career, AC/DC sold over 200 million albums worldwide, roughly 71 million in the US. Back in Black alone sold 22 million copies (50 million worldwide), and went on to become the third highest-selling album in history.
Steven B. Numbers aren’t everything
Jens Harald But it’s something.
@@jens-r8l When they represent albums sold and money earned (because of popularity) they most certainly do. Again, even as a die hard Zeppelin fan I must admit AC/DC not only has a fan following as large as Zeppelin (even among Zeppelin fans) but they were also pioneers of their own style of rock that still survives... even Zeppelin can't boast that accomplishment.
The lead singer looks like Bob Dylan, dances like Freddie Mercury and sounds like Robert Plant. WTF is going on?
Right!!!
I love this! Yes, they sound like Zeppelin, but they're getting airplay. Rock needs to be revived and it's great bands like this that will do it.
How many of YOU can sing like Robert Plant? My guess is ZERO...
Nobody on earth can sing like that. Sincerely Led Head for 52 years. That voice is beyond Plant...:)
Actually, considering a lot of the people here are Led Zeppelin fans, and this has 11M views, I'm sure at least one of those people can sing pretty well like Robert Plant. This guys's probably better than any of those few people though.
Zachary Wheat
I doubt that...performing is also more than a great voice. He has the whole package, but that voice is haunting.
Rock hasn’t gone anywhere it has just evolved. This is just new classic rock

uh... nope. I agree that there are some good bands out there even today, but you have to look hard for them. The only good one that's gotten really popular is Dragon Force, and even they're getting kind of old now.

I don't understand why people hate GVF for sounding like Led Zeppelin. As if that's bad thing.
They sound like Led Zeppelin. No where near as good as Led Zeppelin. Or as good as a band in general compared to others this decade.
@@lesliezett4758 they are original. They sound like Led Zeppelin but they make their own music. I like this better than a bossa nova version of Sweet Child o Mine or reggae version of Hotel California.
I mean if you look at a lot of the Hip-Hop tunes nowadays, they all sound the same. No uniqueness which is pretty disappointing
I think that it's good we have people like GVF "reviving" the rock sound of the 70's. As one video about them said, it is cool for us younger people (and others ofc), who will never have a chance to see Led Zeppelin perform. And, they sound great IMO, but I have to agree with some of the other guys as well, they have the talent to become something more than just being Led Zeppelin's shadow.
@@subinbae3604 that's not true at all. Trained ears know.
I could swear that the initial scream was recorded by Robert Plant
Yeah 30 years ago, it sounds like.
@Chris Johnson can we just appreciate good music is coming back? Just because someone sounds similar doesnt mean they're intentionally copying another artist ffs

Listen to the Wanton Song. You can see where these guys got the riff from
Because this is 2018 not the 1970s, I really hope this band gets their own identity though then I’d enjoy them a lot more
Chia Man Totally agree. Their most popular songs are the ones that sound like Zep. Listen to their EP From the Fires, it has some songs that don’t really sound like Zep and I hope they go down that path
Bioniking I can’t wait for them to go down that road man they have so much potential and I really hope they just don’t become another shitty cover band
Chia Man Definitely. We have to keep in mind that these guys haven’t even released an album yet. We’re living it now and we don’t have the luxury of having an entire catalogue to listen to bands like Zep or The Stones , who really found their voice after a few albums
I was at Led Zeppelin's concert at Knebworth in 1979. I was 21 then. I now get to see these guys in October with my son! Everything comes full circle!

No, it's not a good thing, It kills creativity.

@@nathanbrady538 They are making a name for themselves thanks to a creative effort made by others. Is it so difficult for you to understand simple things?
@@yaledioma00 they write their own music. You’re saying their music kills creativity because they sound similar to Led Zeppelin. You don’t hear that type of music anymore. It’s all pop or that mumble rap so why is it bad that they’re trying to bring back the older sound. What creativity are you doing to change music?
@@nathanbrady538 I don't like easily catchy musical genres (which is why most people like them) like pop or rap. However, trying to bring back the sounds of the past means avoiding the effort to create a new style (as the led Zeppelin did at the time) and continue to do the same thing without innovating (an innovation that lz instead carried out from album to album, thus having the courage to change what they knew worked to explore new paths). Even Metallica with their latest albums are bringing back the sounds of the past but it is a pathetic operation because it is clear that the sound does not have the freshness and vitality of the moment when something new comes to life.
