The 3 brothers and the drummer/guitar player all seem pretty well grounded and quite polite. Great parents apparently. Great to see and hear. I've heard 95% good/great things. I did read a bad review or two about not being able to understand Josh's vocals live and ripping on him. What's childish is thinking that these guys are saving rock and roll. It never needed saving, and a band like this being shown to the mainstream and pop audience as true rock revival is a shame because they look like clowns.

Plus they all seem so lovely and coming from supportive family backgrounds with functioning relationships. Amazing
I love to see the transition from just chatting to actually interpreting the song because you can see how the start to get more comfortable as the song unfolds. These guys rock!
Despite what anyone things the younger generation positively knows about the great rock bands like Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bad Company etc. They are the ones seeking out and playing vinyl now cause its great music and some of them are starting bands and just like this band is and interpreting the music the way they hear it which is great. This particular band has what it takes to make a major impact and bring rock music back in the public eye. I personally don't think it will be the way it was in the 60's and 70's but this band with a little guidance and refining could have people listening to rock music again instead of this rap crap. I give these guys a lot of credit for getting out there and doing what they do. Hey playing sold out shows is a great start cause it means people are listening and paying money to check this out. I wish the band a lot of success!
It's kinda sad when Gen Z and younger millenials prefer classic rock and 80s-90s rock to modern rock. But then it's cool coz hopefully people of my generation get inspired to pick up the guitar or drum sticks or the microphone and start a band
The Rockingbird . Hi Rocking. Its not that sad in reality cause the bands playing "modern rock" were all influenced by what everyone calls now classic rock or "retro" music. No matter what spin you want to put on it modern rock is taking ideas and sounds from classic rock bands. I listen to interviews with the newer rock bands and when asked what got you started and who influnced you its led zeppelin, Aerosmith etc. Thats where the younger bands get it from and its great to hear how they interpret the music.
@@UncleRots Well lots of artists would get pissed at that because they wouldn't want new artists to copy them. I don't know what it is about this generation and being negative about everything they can possibly think of instead of seeing the good in things and in this case just enjoy music. Clearly Led Zeppelin is way better though but I wouldn't necessarily say that Greta Van Fleet is a horrible band and they don't deserve the hate.

I heard a sound bite of Robert the Plant talking about how he first listened to them and was taken back of what he heard. I can only assume by the way he had spoken of it that he was flattered. Later on when these guys had been asked about who their main influence was, they had cited Aerosmith. They sound nothing like Aerosmith, and needless to say, The Plant felt the sting. I'm sure that he acknowledges their talent either way but being a Led Zepplin fan myself hearing plant talk about that soured my ears to them. Sue me.
THen the problem is that you don't know about anything outside of the top 40 ... rock is alive and well - you just have to search for it. Only kids and cretins listen to the top 40 ffs

OK I'm a fan now. All the right answers to the questions at the end, the drummer & bassist come in with guitars, the kid sings this stuff in the upper register cold (good to be young!). I worry that he's going to shred his voice singing like that, but maybe that's just how he's built. Cool kids, good players, and I say they're not a ripoff of Zeppelin. Influenced? Yes. But clearly they have a lot of classic rock influence. The tunes are cool, the music is raw... what's not to like?
@@ccshredder9506 they are not replicating. Otherwise you could tell that Bush is only replicating Nirvana. That all these mumble rappers are replicating OG Mumbler. Why all this negative comment? I'm a 67y old singer/musician and I know one thing for sure; - You gotta be phenomenally good.....to be called a Led Zep rip off !
well said
LAZY THINKING.
Nothing negative here but this band better tighten up if they want to be in the same company as Led Zeppelin
Nobody is saying they're not good. We're saying they're not original. Blatantly unoriginal to the point of being called a ripoff. They're awesome musicians.
you 're right . I actually find myself being so negative about them cause it seems to me another attempt by music industry to rewrite rock and make something profitable out of an old product
So mad that I found them so late. Phenomenal band, can’t wait to see them in Tennessee next month. Can’t stop listening 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Same. Franklin !
I'm sad I missed here in Tennessee. They are now on to Texas.
Derek, you’ve found them early. I’d say They at least have 15 more years of rock and roll buddy
So late? They’re not even ten years old, the heck you talking about?
Oh this is just the beginning. (:
If this guys kick ass being so young, I can’t imagine what they’re gonna write when they mature even more as musicians.
Synth pop with no guitar
This is what I'm waiting on. They havent matured yet. They havent LIVED yet. When the losses start reeling in, honest emotions will flow through their music.
just hope the drummer wont end up like bonzo
@@iyot1020 I hope he becomes as good as Bonzo, but never drinks like Bonzo.
Sad you mesure maturity with age, theses guys are old souls but not everyone understand that
When they start played with 3 guitars reminds me of The Eagles. Thank god they exist. They have tremendous talent.
@R230Tuner isn't Sam the bassist
It is just Eagles, not The Eagles.
"Not the Eagles, man."
Gets tossed out of the cap. PS. This band is a group of pretenders. Sounds nice but can't love someone who only want to rip LZ off. Zero class.
shut up dummy they sound exactly like led zeppelin
You play? I play. Been at it for 30 years. You show me your band. Show me your experience in the trenches. Introduce me to your outfit that has gone from garage to Late Night. Go ahead. Impress me. I doubt you even play.
They are the real deal. Drove my 13yo son 5 hrs from Ontario to the Fillmore in Detroit to see their 1st tour. They kicked ass and took names! Not sure who enjoyed it more ...me or my kid! All hail the return of real music!
yusss! thank the rock & roll gods.
@John Fischer Thanks!

maybe on a classic rock station, but these guys are played on new rock stations which don't really play rock.
@@oldnatty61 where im from, even the 'modern' rock stations play zepplin and sabbath. my point is that recycling the old ways isnt going to save anything. there's a market for it yes, but the people actually pushing guitar music forward are in the progressive and metal genres, so far divorced from this dusty blues based rock as to be almost unrelated at first listen. nothing on the radio is going to truly upset the status quo, its all processed and approved by the powers that be.
I hope so. Because what's played on my supposed rock station is mostly shit.

iwonder why I like Led Zepplin and Greta but in fairness Led Zeppelin tipped off artist they were inspired by two good examples are their songs Dazed and Confused and Whole Lotta Love.
that vocal power and he's sitting down...just wow!
The singer correcting himself giving "Jake" credit for building the band is a sign of his modesty. I'm impressed
If I didn't see him singing I would never believe this voice was coming out of someone so soft spoken...great song, great voice, great band...thanks!

Does anyone find it odd he hits those high notes with his eyes wide open? Most of the time you will see singers squinting if not completely closed. Impressive!
Very impressive. Also his speaking voice isn't so high yet he hits really high notes without straining
If you can sing, find your native key and you'll be amazed how good you can sound especially with skilled musicians backing you up. Not to discredit Greta Van Fleet by any means. They're absolutely brilliant.
When you're high your eyes work in reverse.
He does! Although, if you watch enough of their live performances, you will see him squinting/closing his eyes often. 👌🏼
Never thought about that but you're right.
Never left a comment before, but was getting ready for work listening to RUclips blasting rock and heard this band and thought to myself I have never heard this Led Zeppelin song. I came out and immediately pressed the button for info and found this awesome band. Have worn out their videos since and will see them in concert one day!
Guys, he's sitting at a desk, obviously not ideal singing conditions. He's incredible
You can still sing in sitting position but the technique needs to be correct. He has his back hunched and neck far too way up to sing properly but it isn't his fault because the microphone isn't positioned for someone to sing.
SO THE DESK MADE HIM SEEM CONTRIVED AND UNNATURAL??
He's PURE ARTIFICE IN HIS SINGING and movement!!
and properbly did not warm up either
Pretty sure he already has nodules on his vocal cords. Better save your money, kids.
He can't sing a lick of vibrato. If you can't do that then you aren't a real singer. Period.
This was a great interview. I'm 53 this year. My rock and roll depression began in 1995 when Jerry Garcia passed.

The 3 brothers and the drummer/guitar player all seem pretty well grounded and quite polite. Great parents apparently. Great to see and hear. I've heard 95% good/great things. I did read a bad review or two about not being able to understand Josh's vocals live and ripping on him. I'm very sure he is selftrained with minimal to no formal vocal lessons prior to this recording.

Thats where the younger bands get it from and its great to hear how they interpret the music.
aerosmith is trash dad
Plant digs em...nuff said.
@@UncleRots Well lots of artists would get pissed at that because they wouldn't want new artists to copy them. Also I find it kinda funny how only kids seem to dislike them and accuse them of copying Led Zep while most people who grew up listening to Led Zep loves them judging from most of the comments I see.
Supply link......or might that be concocted fake news....that says "Page & Plant support them wholeheartedly" ?.... bytheway.......Lady GaGa and Axl Rose 'support' them also .......
Although they certainly are refreshing opposed to crap rap saturated radio , but they still remain a lot of loud screaming loud gittars and loud drums , missing the "L .Z." subtlety. Anyway...any band that is a favourite of sir Elton John 🙄, is suspect in my little red book.....
Sue me.
Rock & Roll lives again!
Lol by copying another old successful band.....???? Rock is dead......
Rock and roll never died - it just became techno. This shit is just a kid cover band. Lame.
Nah mate, go fuck yourself
THen the problem is that you don't know about anything outside of the top 40 ... rock is alive and well - you just have to search for it. Only kids and cretins listen to the top 40 ffs
Jonathan Ahlbrand it never died
If there is any doubt in the authenticity of his voice....this video proves it s doubters wrong. I enormously respect their style that clearly elevates the work of those who came before them. The more I hear GVF, the more I like what I hear.
Unoriginality
@@ccshredder9506 adding new music to an existing genre means it's unoriginal?
@@MegaNovaSix not like this. I understand we loooove the Zep but leave it in the past. Innovate, dont replicate. Its either that or do covers.
@@ccshredder9506 they are not replicating. Otherwise you could tell that Bush is only replicating Nirvana. That all these mumble rappers are replicating OG Mumbler. And that Led Zeppelin was just a rip off of J.R.R. Tolkien as Richard Plant admitted that laot of his lyrics were inspired by Lord of the Rings. Are every classic rock band rip offs of The Beattles? Maybe we should cancel all classic rock bands because they are unoriginal?
I like how the DJ recites all the 70's bands and doesn't mention Led Zeppelin, as they have not mentioned in one other interview I've heard.
Greg Fox I was thinking the same thing bro !
I was thinking the same thing.
well, the bands he mentioned were all 60s bands, including the Yardbirds which is what Led Zeppelin formed from. it does bug the shit out of me that they still havent named zepp as one of their influences tho because they obviously sound exactly like them...
They mentioned Led Zeppelin & Robert Plant alone in this. Are you deaf or only watched the first 2 minutes of the video?
well yeah but he did mention the yardbirds
Love this group, they've got that extra swagger. I was worried my grand children were never going to experience the awesome Rock music I grew up with during the late 60s & 70s these guys will make sure they do👍
this interviewer is amazing!!! he asked such good questions for this band. the blues question made me smile because i knew they’d love that! ☺️
