Yep. The worst of the hate comments on here are by the people saying they don’t know anything about music or the music they are picking out , essentially calling them posers. Annoying. If anyone actually took the time to research the band more than just reading what the pretentious hipsters at Pitchfork said , you’ll find out that they grew up on their parents vinyl collection. Sonic Boom, I been there once. Soon as this started I went looking for the name of the store, thought it looked familiar. Very Cool Record Store! Right at the start, he got Bob Dylan - Planet Waves in his hand, great taste these guys! 'The Harder They Come' soundtrack, great compilation of old school early seventies reggae (the real soul music) 'Tea For the Tillerman' ultimate Cat Stevens Fairport Convention, classic British folk music Hendrix, Elvis, say no more
It's fun to see how much knowledge they already have. They are young and from a different generation. To know The Beatles Revolver or Neil Youngs Harvest might not be that "hardcore".. But Joni Mitchell and The Basement Tapes? My favorite of the mentioned however must be the soundtrack to The Mission by Ennio Morricone. Which is fantastic!
wow there is actually a big record store left somewhere. when I was 17 in high school many years ago, there was a record store across the street from my school. I used to go into it all the time and buy used albums for a dollar each. I miss those days, and I miss being 17, and I miss the 70's, GVF truly love this older music, so it is natural for them to create music influenced by what they listen to. but now new bands are going to come out trying to sound like GVF or like the 60's and 70's, even though they don't listen to the bands from that era. but either way I am hoping allot of young people will be influenced into listening to the many great bands of the 60's and 70's. hands down the best era in music, and hopefully we will see some more cool rock bands come out soon.
photographerjonathan I compleatly agree with you but who knows. Maybe GVF talking about older music from the 60s and 70s will encourage kids these days to listen to that style of music and then the next generations people will already know. I'm pretty young and love 60s and 70s music. My favorites are The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and Rush!
Shows you these kids are very music literate. How they listen to music is very different then many other people do. This is why they're very much Blues/Rock influenced and are taking it back it it's roots. Sooooo much better than listening to computer beat music on the radio and why I listen to classic rock stations.
I have to admit they have great taste. I am embarrassed that I don't know his name, but the one who picked up Tea for the Tillerman, gained a lot of respect from me. There are literally no bad songs on that LP
XeverettX If I was gonna pick 5. 1. Hendrix- Are You Experienced. Jimi, Noel, and Mitch greatest most influential power trio of all time. 2. Beatles- Let It Be. Dig a pony baseline! Need I say more. Oh and Billy Prestons lead into the guitar solo on the B3 organ. Album version. The radio edit guitar “lead” if you can even call it that, is garbage. Atleast by Beatles standards. 3. CREAM- woman guitar tone, Ginger Baker, Marshall stacks. 4. Leaf Hound- Growers of Mushrooms. Straight up Rocks. Classic late 60’s Camaro crank and cruise. Plus the influence on every modern stoner/doom/sludge band from Fu Manchu to Earthless to Mount Carmel and even CLUTCH!! 5. Led Zeppelin- Houses of the Holy. Page, Bonham, JPJ, Plant. Those four men made albums together!!! Really you can insert almost any album I just chose houses of the holy because it was the first to pop in my head. (Honorable Mention)- Black Sabbath selftitled-to Vol.4 Past 4 is garbage but those first four are absolute devastators. (Above and beyond Rock N Roll Gods) The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Co., Muddy Watters, Johnny Winter, The Groundhogs, Alvin Lee and Ten Years After, Canned Heat, Sly and The Family Stone, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet. Ok enough is enough!!!!
well, this is terrific because they dont do drugs or party 'round everyday, get drunk or something like that. they spend time looking for good music and enjoy them
Me watching this when they reference Neil being Canadian and not Joni knowing she did it to herself with songs such as California and Woodstock! Our girl is from ALBerta babbyyyy a Canadian girl at heart!
honestly tho, with their taste in music, it wouldn't be difficult for them to change their sound to be even more artistic and creative... i feel like once they stop doing the led zeppelin stuff they're gonna be extremely impactful, rooting for them!
After watching that there is no question, greta van fleet is the real deal! All those classic albums getting the respect they deserve! My favorite Neil Young Harvest, now we no why that 70s vibe in greta is so good!!

Sonic Boom, I been there once. Soon as this started I went looking for the name of the store, thought it looked familiar.
Very Cool Record Store!
Right at the start, he got Bob Dylan - Planet Waves in his hand, great taste these guys!
'The Harder They Come' soundtrack, great compilation of old school early seventies reggae (the real soul music)
'Tea For the Tillerman' ultimate Cat Stevens
Fairport Convention, classic British folk music
Hendrix, Elvis, say no more
Danny has immaculate taste imho
Danny had the best picks. Beatles are my favorite band but he pulled out Fleet Foxes and Cat Stevens which are both amazing artists
Miriam mekemba wowow these guys have ✨TASTE ✨
It's fun to see how much knowledge they already have. They are young and from a different generation. To know The Beatles Revolver or Neil Youngs Harvest might not be that "hardcore".. But Joni Mitchell and The Basement Tapes? My favorite of the mentioned however must be the soundtrack to The Mission by Ennio Morricone. Which is fantastic!
I want there album so bad! I know what I’m asking for Christmas! Love you guys!!!
It's worth buying, I have them all so far, well the one's we can buy right now, I will buy all of their album's.
Im 20 yrs old and im proud to say im educated in music just like great van fleet! I freaking love them
wow there is actually a big record store left somewhere. when I was 17 in high school many years ago, there was a record store across the street from my school.
Sooooo much better than listening to computer beat music on the radio and why I listen to classic rock stations.
they’re so genuine I love them
What??
I went to this store and it was so cool...lots of goodies, I could have stayed for hours.
1:17 wow I just got that today! Along with Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, Disraeli Gears and Paranoid
Jake just became my favorite pulling out John Denver’s WindSong 🙌🏼👌🏼
I have to admit they have great taste. I am embarrassed that I don't know his name, but the one who picked up Tea for the Tillerman, gained a lot of respect from me. There are literally no bad songs on that LP
Most all on my playlist.
Great taste.
They really do own my entire heart🖤
I love them 200% better now I know they love STEPHEN STILLS
The fact that they mentioned Ennio Moriconne in addition to Beatles and Dylan and whatnot gives me life.
Timothy Leary!!!!!"you can be anyone this time around!""you can be anything this time around"!love you Josh!!!!and all your brothers of course..
THE STEPHEN STILLS REPRESENTATION IM OVER THE MOON OMFG
I love that they love John Denver, he's always been guilty pleasure of mine, maybe I will just own it from now on. And Cat Stevens. And Neil Young.
XeverettX
If I was gonna pick 5.
Ok enough is enough!!!!
i was planning on going there tomorrow to buy their album!!!! LOL
i LOVE these guys. they are my new favourite everything
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THESE MEN
So glad he picked out the Stills records. Good stuff
Danny just showed a v small percentage of my own collection, bless him
how the fuck can anyone hate on these guys?! they are literally saints.
I'd get along with these guys pretty well. Love Gretta Van Fleet.
well, this is terrific because they dont do drugs or party 'round everyday, get drunk or something like that. they spend time looking for good music and enjoy them
Me watching this when they reference Neil being Canadian and not Joni knowing she did it to herself with songs such as California and Woodstock! Our girl is from ALBerta babbyyyy a Canadian girl at heart!
It made my heart happy when they pulled out the great Poco!
honestly tho, with their taste in music, it wouldn't be difficult for them to change their sound to be even more artistic and creative... i feel like once they stop doing the led zeppelin stuff they're gonna be extremely impactful, rooting for them!
Sammy looks especially beautiful in this video
After watching that there is no question, greta van fleet is the real deal! All those classic albums getting the respect they deserve! My favorite Neil Young Harvest, now we no why that 70s vibe in greta is so good!!
What a bunch of music nerds. Love it. These kids rock
Now I feel like listening to some new music. Btw I'd totally wear Danny's shirt!
PLEASE ANSWER ASAP
What does he say at 3:50 when talking about Windsong by John Denver?
