you can adjust the kickstand, a little screw on the back side of the kickstand, just loosen it and let it slide down

Mine must be different. I only have the 2 mounting screw. But the shim seems to be working fine.
It would make sense to have a screw for the kickstand. The angle of the bike changes alot when you adjust the psi of the rear shock.

Hi, It's me again, I hope I'm not bothering you. But yes you do have a adjustment screw on that kickstand, I saw it in the video. trust me it's there, It's on the back side of the kickstand about 3 1/2 inches off the ground, It's countersink in a round hole. Or you can take off the kickstand to see it better. Sorry I'm just trying to help. have a great day.

We live 5 miles from town and up in the mountains, so it’s downhill all the way, so coming home is uphill.
Our PO Box is in town, so that was the main reason why I bought my ebike.
If I don’t need the battery assist, then it’s not in use.
If I’m being lazy, I’ll let the battery bring me home.
Since getting the bike, I’ll load it into our pickup and take it to a local 15 mile loop trail along the Columbia River in north central Washington state and enjoy riding around with some friends.

We finished building our house in 19 and it was appraised at $550K. It’s now worth $1.1 million. There’s only 9 families who live on our private road and we all have acreage, plus the 9 of us own 1/2 of a mountain with hiking and quad trails. Get this, because the land is unbuildable, it’s not taxed.

I'm very tempted by this bike but got a Magnum Peak T5 back in November, so I don't really need a second eBike.
I'll be interested to see how you find this rides, I understand it's a cadence sensor, and I'm used to a torque sensor now.

    • @retirementwithpete9859
      @retirementwithpete9859  5 месяцев назад +1

I just read the specs on your bike. Very impressive. They packed alot into that frame. Yet its still only 60lbs😳. I like the look of the T5 also. The Freedom is a HUGE bike. The standover height is 29.5". My Rad Rover is 27.5". Do you know what the T5 is?
The Freedom, with the battery, weighs 88lbs. That a heavy bike.
My Rover has a cadence sensor and the Freedom, according to the specs, has a torque sensor. Im very curious to see the difference!!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    • @ziploc2000
      @ziploc2000 5 месяцев назад

@@retirementwithpete9859 Using a tape measure it's at least 28.5", not really much difference. I contacted Wired and they say the Freedom X is a Cadence sensor. Not necessarily better or worse, just different.
I am lucky enough to live only a couple of miles from a dedicated eBike shop, so before buying I was able to test ride half a dozen different bikes, all good in their own way, but the Magnum felt the best for me - though they didn't have a Wired Freedom to test, I think technically it's no longer an eBike in my State of Oregon, but a motorized vehicle, that technically should be licensed and insured, though the website is not clear on this. Of course it's how you ride it that counts.
I did test ride an Aventon Adventure 2, which is a 26" fat-tire bike like the Freedom. It was fun to ride and surprisingly more agile than I expected, but the extra tire and motor noise was very noticeable for me, and the chain was rattly; I suspect it needed adjusting. The T5 is 2.8" tires, still much bigger than anything I've ridden before, and 27.5" diameter.
The attraction of the Freedom is LOOKS like a normal eBike, but has that much more power available in the motor, and a bigger battery. Most "eBikes" with this much power/speed potential are not built to look like a normal bike.

Hi Ken. Yes, the bike is a tall bike. Im 6' and it feels very tall. My old rad rover has a 27.5" mid bar heighth. And the Freedom is 29.5". You can lower that by reducing the pressure on the rear air shock. I'll try and show how big the bike is compared to my Rover, on my next video.

@@retirementwithpete9859 What a coincidence, I had originally ordered the green but contacted Wired about 10 day after placing my order and asked to change to a black one. I love the black but this green one looks beautiful too. I'm also 6'0 and got my bike delivered back on Jan 26 near Seattle. The height seems perfect even with a much larger and cushier seat and that suntour suspension seatpost. The ride is pillowy soft like my dads old Cadillac. I've ridden it about 50 miles between the rainy days up here in Pac Northwest. Was thankful that it arrived in perfect condition. Not even a scratch on the box. Can't wait for the weather to improve so I can put some serious miles on this thing. I also just retired this past summer, and I am feeling bored already. Was advised not to buy the boat that I always wanted, so for now I will have to amuse myself with the bike. Went to the Seattle boat show last week to see the new boat models. Feel like I should have bought one 10 or 15 years ago when my kids were still young. The older I get, the more difficult getting that boat in and out of the water looks.

Havent regretted a single minute. The first thing I bought after retiring was my Rad Rover. And I have loved it. But it just doesnt have a long range. Im hoping the Freedom will be better.

I'm originally from San Diego and landed here in the PNW while serving in the Navy back in the early 80's. Back then I used to drive thru Portland going back and forth to SD to visit my family but never even stopped more than just to gas up and grab a bite to eat. I've made regular trips out to the stunning Oregon coast on a regular basis over the years. None better in my opinion.
You are right about the boat. My wife is not as enthusiastic about the idea as she once was years ago. There's a sober reality that takes hold as we age. Some things we thought we want give way to practicality and ease of use. lol.. Case in point, our house is much too big now that our children have left, and the landscaping of our property is too great a commitment for me now that my son is not around to help lol.

I want to purchase this bike, but we're rather short on funds, so I'm hoping I can go up there and pick it up from the warehouse. The only problem is that I have a little Honda Fit and I'm not sure if it will fit in the car or not. I live down here in Southern Illinois, and I'm guessing the warehouse is about 6 hours from me. It will be worth it if it will fit and it will allow me to save a couple hundred dollars.

We actually owned a 2009 honda fit. I was amazed at the amount of storage it had, when the back seats were down. But Im not sure it can fit the box that the bike comes in. The box is 36" tall, 66" long and 12" wide. I would try taking the bike out of the box. The bike is 62" long, with the rear tire on and the front tire off. If that doesnt fit, you can remove the rear tire, fender and rack. Guaranteed to fit inside your Fit.
      (Haha, sorry about that one).
I bet the guys at Wired would help you with all that. They seem like really nice people. But bring a Cresent wrench just in case. The bike comes with a nice allen tool set.

Most of these criminals aren't worried about jail since they see it as a vacation from the 'toughness of life' they all feel like theyve had to endure, plus they get free food, get to hang out with the homies. I think its crazy just how much of the deterrence factor we've lost in our society compared to previous generations. FAFO used to be a pretty hard ass deterrent. Now, theres nothing stopping em. I imagine it was partially an inside job which probably adds some paranoia for Wired when they already offering a pretty great product and a very decent price point ie: maybe not raking it in as much as other outfits?
Anyway, cool video. Your the first video Ive seen with the green color. I like it the best, although, their website makes it look more of a hunter green color, but I like this one better!

Its a veru sad staement of our society.
Im realy glad I went with the green. The bike is an absolute beast!! Unbelievable torque. Almost too much! Still trying to find the sweet spot on the settings.

      Haha, you nailed that one!!
Im still trying to figure out why they used a tv box to ship the bike in. And of course my bike is already obsolete, with the release of the new Wired Freedom.

@@retirementwithpete9859 That is odd on the TV Box. I've been looking at the Freesky Warrior with dual motors. Any experience with that?

I have not heard of them, but there are so many ebikes out there now, that doesn't surprise me. I can only imagine how quick that bike is. Ill check them out.

Impressive bike. I like the 18 month warranty. The 4 piston brakes. And the range. Are you looking at the M530?

I just cant believe that a huge company like Uber Logistics would hire an independent trucker that would then steal an entire load of ebikes???
But I guess I shouldnt be surprised!
Sadly, this is almost the norm now!
