I refuse to believe this skit came about from any other way than Joel saying "somersault" out loud in a French accent and deciding we needed 5 minutes of that (we do)

As a French guy, it sounded more Italian to me than French, but maybe my opinion is based on the hands gestures Joel does while talking
loving the "nobody ever uses these" transitions. I am going to start using them in my audition tapes just so casting directors think "WOW. This guy must be inspired by Jean-Michel. I bet he can do a somersault."

Everything about this is great. The transitions, the incorrect dimensions stretching the image, etc. This brings me back. Lower expectations came in briefly

When Jean-Michel gets woman to love, perhaps then he has then friend to somersault with.
Not many people know this. It's a very little-known historical fact that the Vikings used a special type of warrior that helped them defeat almost all of their opponents in every country they invaded for generations. When the attack happened they had people at the front leading the charge who when approaching the enemy would roll on the ground toward them, which would surprise the enemy and startle them and give them pause long enough for the Vikings to breach their ranks and annihilate them. The Vikings would always assault in the summertime, which is where we get the word somersault from.
