Seeing how much you all respect each other is heart warming. Seems like in other sports and even body building, that respect isn't really there. I really enjoyed seeing all these guys outside of what I've seen on espn.
I enjoyed seeing that as well. Shook everyone's hands and said hello. Rare to see mutual respect these days sadly.
It’s not a surprise! Every time anyone of those guys makes a video they always express how much they honor each other and the camaraderie between them and the respect! Maybe you’re new to this sport, because they’ve always been that way. Even dating back till when it was on TV once in a great while in the 90s.
That's because this sport has its roots back on the golden era of the 80's, with characters like Capes, Sigmarsson, Nummisto, Wolders, MaGee, Grizzly, etc. Since then and even way back on the 70's all te contestants of WSM (and the rest of major strongman competitions) were really nice people, very respectful, cheerful and even funny. Nowadays we have a more sterile kind of interaction but the camaraderie is still there.

Because in strongman people respect the other's people power. Like, they know there are much stronger people than themselves. But in bodybuilding everyone wants to be the best / most cutted / most respected etc... That's narcistic sport so they don't evet let their mind to tell "you are not the best". Cause they would take another tons of roids, to prove they are. That's sad sport (bodybuilding)...
I think it's cool how all the top strongmen know each other, they're like yeah we're pal's, .....but I'm going to beat you
it's pretty much the same 10-15 guys at every event at that level of strongmen competition
The competition would be toxic if the men were bitchy towards one another. It's healthy for the competition I think if all the guys get along.
And even more the fact that they often train with each other

@Baxter James Mateuz Keiliezkowski is definitely a top contender now. I actually think he will reign supreme for a long time in the near future. Dude is only 24 keeping up with the best already

It's completely unbelievable that every strongman competition has to be held in hottest parts of the Earth, the guys lose strength due to dehydration and the sheer heat. Anyway Big Brain all our best goes with you, bring home the trophy and that big payday. Your brothers in Louisiana!!!
I was thinking the same thing, especially this year's WSM being in the Phillippines. But at Dubai it looks like a few events were at night so I'm hoping it cooled as the competition went on

This time of the year, the climate is not that hot compared to the other months, it starts turning cold towards December and some of the events I feel are going to be held at night so I guess it will be fine..

Brian is Mr. Thorough, never leaves anything to chance and always studying his craft. This is one of the reasons he's the best and so successful because he's all in. Really don't think most of the other strongman are this cerebral and thorough in their approach, and without question this gives him a little edge on the competition imo. Best of luck Brian!! Bring the championship home.

I like both sports but you must be stupid. It's only some of these new guys coming into the UFC. You're not a real UFC fan if you haven't seen the brotherhood within it. One example Mat Serra and Din Thomas. You haven't seen a pure sport till you see two guys beat the shit out of each other then hug and cry not because you lost but because your brother just won and you couldnt be more proud of him, and happy for him.
maybe it has something to do with the fact one of these sports involve the two of em throwing punches to each other...
@ UFC and fighters didnt need hype to sell their earlier events. Without McGregor UFC would be in big trouble. Joe Rogan even said each year for the last 3 years they've lost 11% of their viewership.

From what I've heard in interviews Eddie is pretty much finished with competing. From what he's said, his body is starting to break down and his blood pressure is through the roof, so he's been trying to cut down and get back to a healthy weight/blood pressure.
Now he is just going around to different shows for meet and greets. I could be wrong though. He has lost a tremendous amount of weight, I think he's down 100 lbs or so.
He's supposed to make a comeback at either Britan's Strongest, or UK's Strongest man.
Was watching the workers during the shield lift. lol.

It’s amazing to see the absolute strongest men on the planet, the genetic elite in strength, in one room. It’s literally mind blowing. Just as impressive is the respect, warmth, and comradery, they have for each other. Definitely not a room of pretentious Primadonnas.

Lil Lol I certainly don’t work for 50 dirhams an hour. And I grew up here, meaning I have tons of experience with Emiratis. Some are assholes, some aren’t, just like the teenagers in the rest of the world. At the end of the day, this is their country, and immigrants vastly out number them, which is why they have government aid and benefts

Terry was even leaner a couple of months back, looks like he put some on for his lifting.

Looks like strongman is starting to the leaner route now. Or they've found a new roid that keeps them as strong. Whatever the case is im curious to see how this will affect the shows. 1000lb deadlifts are becoming common now. Was the case 5-10 years ago.
