Where have you been all my life? Oh thankyou so much. I inherited 2 queen size double wedding ring quilts and have no idea how to bind and back. You teach well.
Haha, I love how you said, "a Double Wedding Ring quilt NEEDS a hand binding." Super. And yes, I agree some traditional quilts deserve more time and care. This tutorial makes me more comfortable with the idea of curved binding. Thanks!
Thank you so much foe posting how to add binding to a double wedding ring quilt. I have long armed one for a customer and really didn’t know how to do the binding.
Wonderful instructions, I just did a practice piece after watching this. I did a scalloped edge binding last week and felt that my points weren't "full" enough. I think I trim down too much. Thank you
Great Fun watching the new double wedding ring video's. I made a DWR years ago using the Flynn method. I cannot wait to make one using your additional methods. I never thought I would make another one it took me so long to finish the first one! haha I ordered another set of templates from you and hope to start soon. I felt like trying a little bigger ring. Bigger quilt less rings. Thank you for all the information you share on your video's!
I just finished a king size double wedding ring and it is at the quilters. After 2 1/2 years of working on it on and off I am very afraid to cut into the quilt at the indents. Is that the only way to put the binding on?
Nancy, I just recently came across you older videos from several years ago. You're a delightful instructor and very informative, esp on beading on quilts which I once heard of from Cindy Needham. Your detailed video gives a very doable instruction, and I'm looking forward to using it on 2 work in progress wall hangings. You also mention using 606 spray adhesive. I just heard about 505 from a Patsy Thompson basting video. When would you use 505 and when 606?
Hi Elisabeth, they are from the same company but do two different things. 606 is the idea of a spray of WonderUnder fusible and the 505 is a temporary basting spray they washed out of the quilt when done. I have used both but they are really very different :) - Nancy
Hello. Thank you for your video. It was very helpful! I'm in the process of finishing a double wedding ring quilt (wall hanging) and want to know if you have a video on how to combine the quilt top to a foundation style border?
Loved watching your series on the wedding ring, however I am wondering if there is a way to applique onto a background fabric just the arcs . What would the best method be ? I want the melons and center to all be the one color, and to avoid all the cutting want to applique the arcs onto the fabric but not quite sure how to figue placement and yardage.
Hi Mimzy, actually there is a way - I think there is a vendor out their that does it with a pre-printed fusible interfacing. I think it is from www.quiltsmart.com
@@QuiltingWithNancy Thanks, I saw the fusible before and not sure I want to go that route...but thanks for the time to suggest it.I'm sure I will figure it out......just thought there might be a way already.
Absolutely love the this series of DWR videos!! Your tutorials are awesome as always and I learn so much!! I love the fabric you used with the creams, pinks green and wine. What fabric line is that? I would love to purchase them. Thanks
@@QuiltingWithNancy lol that's ok, I can look for fabrics similar to that pattern and colors. There's soo much to choose from out there. Happy quilting.
I are using a Pfaff sewing machine that has a built in walking foot so yes i am, but on most machines that you need to add the foot you may not want to, they can make it a little hard to see.

Ruby Charlton hi Ruby, thanks for watching. Haven’t done a video on that yet but I’ll keep it in mind 😀
Nancy.
Great binding to try. Thanks
Thanks for making my life easier with your videos on DWR quilting series. Where did you get the template for the 18 inches DWR squares?
Hi Rosemary - they are available on quilting-warehouse.com/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct&q=john*+flynn*
Nancy
Thank you now I know how to do

Hi Yolanda, truth is I started that sample about 12 years ago - I have no idea what the fabric line is now, sorry :(

I missed the live machine quilting of the wedding ring but the video is now no longer available....is there a way to see this?
Yes, I missed it too!😢
How much fabric do I need to bind a 108 x 108 wedding ring quilt?
I would use 3/4 of a yard cut on the bias - 2 1/4" wide
@@QuiltingWithNancy thank you.
Is that double fold?
Disregard my previous question Nancy. I finished watching your video and got the answer I needed. Thank you again and have a blessed day.
how do you figure out how muchj bias binding you need for a queen size double wedding ring quilt?
Hi Jane, I don't have an exact formula but for a Queen size I would cut the bias strips from 3/4 of a yard.
Lovely quilt. Can't imagine putting this together and then binding with a tuck in the end binding. Don't really get it.
Are you using a walking foot?
I are using a Pfaff sewing machine that has a built in walking foot so yes i am, but on most machines that you need to add the foot you may not want to, they can make it a little hard to see.
