    I have completed the double wedding ring and now moving onto the binding. I can't say enough how helpful your videos were! And I was so happy you referred to John Flynn's book - because I bought it months ago but was so intimidated by it. Your directions were very helpful and clear. Thank you!! =)

    This was a fabulous tutorial! So many, many helpful techniques and tips! You made it look fun, instead of tedious, although I can see this is a time consuming project. But not as time consuming as most other methods. Thank you for the detail. Saves making mistakes and figuring everything out on your own.

    Totally agree with you about KAI Scissors. I am gradually exchanging all my Gingher Scissors. (Still keeping them though!) I bought a pair of KAI 8" shears for my sister who is just starting to learn to sew. I have been sewing for many years so I have bought equipment for her that I considered were the best that I could afford.

    You are far and away one of the best instructors I have ever learned from (although I do wish you’d use a second close up camera angle when sewing so we can see the sewing technique instead of your ring 😉) Your method for picking fabrics is brilliant and I enjoy the fact that you don’t just mention different tools, but explain how you use them. I’ve already ordered John’s book and several size templates, and am looking forward to starting my first wedding ring quilt. BTW, that was a gorgeous awl.

    Thank you so much Nancy for the great tutorial on how to make a double wedding ring. I have always wanted to give a double wedding ring tutorial on my RUclips channel called Kathy's Kwiltz. I purchased the templates needed for the double wedding ring from Quilt in a Day...will they work for my tutorial? Where can I buy the Double Wedding Ring book you showed us at the beginning of your video?

    How long does the glue last on the ruler when cutting the parts of the circle. Thanks This is from EP 406 Beginning steps for a double wedding ring quilt. Where did you get your scissors?

    • @QuiltingWithNancy
      @QuiltingWithNancy  5 лет назад

      Hi Donna, the "sticky" from the 505 adhesive last for the whole quilt really - it gets a little less sticky as you go but it is sticky enough I find. You should be able to find those scissor on www.quilting-warehouse.com - if not, you can contact her through her website and she will get them for you :)

      OnPoint-TV I love the idea of the 505 on the ruler. I did find a semi-permanent glue dot roller and I’ve used it successfully with paper templates. I’ll have to give it a go on this method when I try it! Thank you so much for the very inspiring tutorial! I think you’ve wet a lot of whistles for this technique! I especially love how you made a way to strip piece and save time! What a thoughtful and time saving method!

    If I were to order that book from amazon.co.uk (as I live in the UK) it's beyond expensive. It's "you've gotta be kidding me!" If I were to order it from amazon.com (USA's version) the best price I could get as used in very good condition is $40.00 plus international shipping. Is there another alternative?

    • @QuiltingWithNancy
      @QuiltingWithNancy  4 года назад

      Hi Phyllis - no better options, sorry. Even if had one to sell and send you, the shipping would be rather outrageous. So you need to plan a trip to the States for a holiday and when you are here will be load you up with all the quilting books for you and your friends :) - Nancy

    I stopped video ta ask why you didn’t just layer your different colored strips one on top of each other then cut seems easier than accordion folding. Just curious.

    • @QuiltingWithNancy
      @QuiltingWithNancy  5 лет назад +3

      Hi Sandy - not that your idea wouldn't work - and if you absolutely needed the segments to be all alike (mine come out mirror image because of the accordion fold) you could do what you suggest. I like the accordion fold so the one strip gets me 8 pieces, where if you do stack the strips you would have to sub cut them into smaller sections in order to cut out with the scissors. Someday i want to have that little template i drew onto the template plastic, made into the acrylic plastic like John Flynn uses so that we could use a rotary cutter :)

    Holy cow did anyone else flip out when she just nonchalantly sprayed that 505 on her template with nothing behind it 😳 I see what her templates look like after so many layers of 505 but what does her floor look like where all the overspray lands??
