This movie had a legit psychological effect on me when I was a kid. My dad showed it to my brother and I when it came out. We lived in a rural area surrounded by cornfields and forests. Our home county in our state happened to have the most UFO sightings per capita in the entire state. So you never went outside at night. Especially when the corn was up. If you did then you brought a pocket knife or something. Even to this day when I go out at night at this time of year that the movie is set in, I am strapped, locked and loaded lol. Nothing will likely ever happened but you can be damn sure I will be ready if it does

How can he go back to preaching the Bible is true? He just assumes the signs were from God and not something else. Am I mistaken, or would the existence of Aliens disprove the validity that the Bible is from any all-knowing god let alone ...God? I sort of understand when Christans do not want to test to see if the Bible is true, or false in order to maintain their ability to have "faith". It gives them plausible deniability. I do not understand when a Christian is presented facts, and they deny reality.
I think anyone from any religion could choose to believe that the aliens and other signs/coincidences came from their god(s), regardless of if they are Christian or not. Christians don’t necessarily believe in extraterrestrial life, but that doesn’t mean God couldn’t create them now and send them to Earth for a divine reason. I mean, if aliens exist, from a Christian perspective God had to have created them right? Maybe they are a part of the apocalypse in Revelations? There’s also a theory that the aliens are actually demons, either actual demons or physical manifestations of the characters’ inner struggles and trauma. That could reconcile the whole “aliens aren’t real but the Bible and Graham’s faith is being validated” thing. Ultimately, I think the Bible was written thousands of years ago, and so things that were said then might not be true today, and God can do whatever he chooses; He is not limited by anything. I know for me personally, if aliens showed up in my town, I wouldn’t stop believing the validity of the Bible, I would probably grow closer to God because of praying to him to get through this crazy event!
