Thanks for contacting the company. Good idea, I went on to purchase one and it is $249.99. Though the video came out 11/30 you mentioned it was a Cybo Monday sale. Hmmm...???
Best friggin' Anker review on the web! I don't know why the vast, vast majority of channels don't even show the unit in use! Thank you, just subscribed!
Back after the trip, I have the #Anker757 and used it on my desert trip with the 300w soler, it is a BEAST!! more then enough to power the camp and to keep my #Domitec 92 CRX3 ruining the hole time. I think the fast charging is the key for it to stand up for its readiness. It did handle the work all day specially when we make coffee on the Nespresso machine.
Great test. And yesterday I got the EU version of the Anker 521. Tested it with the Jackery SolarSaga 100 and can confirm: they play well together (>58 Watts solar charging).
Been following Jackery, TOGO, prices for months, ever since watching the 300W models review. Waiting for Jackery to have the 300 back in stop and comparing against the TOGO 330 and 350 models. So I had pricing and discounts memorized. Both announced Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday deals. TOGO raised their prices back to retail then discounted. So you really didn’t get the 30% off that they advertised in comparison to pricing a week ago. Jackery flashed a $209 price yesterday on the 300 for about an hour, went to buy and it was back to $299, which was the list price for months. So no surprise these companies advertise one price and bait/switch. Just need to be fast I guess!
Got one to run my astrophotography gear.... get about 8 hours of use and takes it down to 70%. thats running cameras (guide camera, dslr) , focusser, mount, asiair, heater
Actually this is only their first LiFePO4 power station, NOT their first power station. I’ve had the 400 watt Lithium of theirs ( Anker Powerhouse II 400) for over a year now. Their extremely good info screen was what won me over on it. It’s been my go-to for awhile. The Powerhouse II 800 came out about 9 months ago.
I have Anker Solix 1000. In the manual says to charge to 100% after use. Pretty much recommending to store it at 100%!?! Isn't this increasing the battery degradation? The manual also reconfirms if stored for long periods to recharge to 100% every 3 months. I see online information that the string at 100% for LFP is still somehow bad, the reason it needs 100% is to calibrate the BMS. What is you take on this?
Interesting...been wondering when one of my favorite companies was going to enter the race!! Still love Bluetti as well, Hope Anker keeps on competing!

When I first saw the 521 I also thought it was 521 watts. Bummer...but I love Anker & the dual charging & pass through. Most power stations don't let you use AC & charge the device at the same time or use AC & DC at the same time.
Hopefully they will listen and keep the pass through and double charge and then add some real (up to date) ports. (QC3) in a 2K unit and bypass all the other models. Make one that competes with Blueitti and Ecoflow

Greetings, I am watching tons of your video's which are very informative so thank you. Can you help with a question I am struggling to find an answer to? When we a product claims 2000 cycles for the battery, is that from bottom to top (0-100%), because in the camper truck set up I am building I would like to keep the battery charged up as I go, so if I camp for a night and use let's say 50% then top off during the following day, does that count as one full cycle out of the 2000, or would it only count as 1/2 a cycle because I did not exhaust or recharge a full cycle. Or, if I hypothetically only used half a charge at a time would it extend the initial 2000 estimate to 4000? I just can't seem to find any information to help answer this question so if you are able, I would greatly appreciate the help. Great vids, fun too, more cameo inserts...
Great review, thanks! How does it compare to the bigger Anker 535? I am on the fence between the 535 and the EcoFlow River 2 Pro but have no experience with either company. Subscribed
Can you charge via solar, directly from solar panel to 8mm dc adapter cable to 8mm dc jack in the back of the unit WITHOUT a middle unit to convert the power. My apologies, I have no idea haha
u have not shown the power on the back , and did not test with solar ? i have one Anker powerhouse 2 and its great , tuns of ports ..please review again with complete detail.
Would this be enough to run a portable projector @60W for 2hrs? I think it would, I’d like to use this for camping, watching a movie in the middle of no where lol
lots of people are getting into the Chinese Diesel Heater craze. This solar Generator would be perfect to run the Heater in startup ,and shutdown mode. The Heaters draw a little over 8 amps once fully powered up draws less than 2 Amps continuously.
The Anker 521 has similar specs to the GoLabs i200. Which is better? For $30 less at the moment on Amazon, the GoLabs has more outputs, one year less warranty, and slower charging. Otherwise, specs are similar. Either should charge a 12v fridge.
@HOBOTECH what happens if you try to charge the Anker with a solar panel kit that can generate more wattage? Does the anker's dc port have a built in safety feature so it will only take what it need?
Just looked this up on Amazon - on 11/30/2021 the price is $249.99, so they were wrong about the price staying past "Cyber Monday" until the video came out.
Professor Hobo Tech. Another great video but here is a question from a totally non-tech guy. I'm overlanding with a 50qt ARB (ac/dc) and while driving it runs off either the AC or DC in the truck. I would like to have another power source to keep the ARB running during prolong stops (long lunch breaks, vehicle stops, etc.) From the specs, it draws 64.3 watts for cooling. Question is, of all the units you have reviewed, is there one in particular that you could lean toward if you were looking for a power source for the ARB?
I've always been impressed with Anker powerbanks but their multi-port usb wall chargers are unreliable. I have several of their wall chargers and they've all had USB ports that stopped working. I just Liked this Video and Subscribed to your channel ! I bought an Anker 521 Power Station and hoping to locate a suitable adapter to charge it with a Solar Panel. I have seen a few reviews on Amzon that some folks are buying a common 8mm plug and have to cut or modify the barrel to get it to fit. I have a ZAMP folding Solar Panel with SAE connections. I understand that the Controller with most Solar Panels needs to be Bypassed to properly charge most Power Stations. I believe that Anker recommends using a 7.9mm plug also know as a "7909 DC" to charge their Power Stations with a Solar Panel. I am looking for a quality Plug and Play adapter / cable. Any comments on what specific make and model of an adapter to fit an Anker 521 to an SAE connection would be Great ! Hello Professor, I'm new to your channel and new to the portable power generators. Can you possibly do a review of: Oukitel CN505 Portable Power Station 614 Wh Life PO4 500 Watts Pure Sine Wave. Thank you Professor. What are you general comments about this?
What is the name of that instrumental at the 3:17 mark?
It really sounds kool
First Lemmy Kilmister cuts off the mole and now Hobo kills the wacky intro!
Dropping the intro to grow the channel.
Can you charge USB and USB c at the same time and charge it faster?
is it ok to use a 65w usb-c charger/cable to charge it? i assume yes but just checking...
Anker has a bigger one. Have you had a chance to review it yet? Newest version has lithium iron batteries. "Anker Portable Generator 512Wh, 535 Portable Power Station (PowerHouse 512Wh)"
Thank You for taking the time to Help me and lots of other owners of an Anker Power Station :)
I got it on watch through the link guess the 15 minute video I missed the window.
Can use on something that power is 240? Volt
works great with the TopSolar Solar Fairy 60w
Ho Ho HoBo Christmas to me with an AnkerBiter ! Thanks for the presentation.
Hello
I bought the Anker 521 yesterday. If you had to pick only one solar panel charger for this unit, which one would it be?
Also, am I to understand that using a 100W solar charger will not harm this unit? Thank you
