  • Here's my quick review of the Anker 521 Solar Generator. I use this around the house and especially for camping. In this video I power all sorts of different devices you might take with you outdoors or camping. I even find the generator's limits using a space heater. Thanks for watching!

    Fantastic presentation 10/10 One thing you forgot to mention don’t leave unit out in the sun whilst solar charging as it will overheat the power station , try and position in the shade Thanks again from England UK

    Great video. Thank you. I ordered one of these for camping and I need something small to fit in the boot (trunk in US/Canadian) of a BMW Z4. Not arrived yet after being promised for last Friday but hoping that it will arrive in time to charge our phones, my camera batteries and the drone for a few days. I didn't pay too much for it. Power on the campsite would have cost 2/3rds of the cost of the Anker and we can use it over and over. For anyone who doubts that you can go on a 2 man family camping holiday for 10 nights in a Z4, we've done it many times and had incredulous looks from people in pickup trucks and SUV's. We used to manage it with the roof down on the way but the new hard top takes more room to drop down so we travel with the roof up, pitch the tents and then get the roof down for our trips down country lanes 😁

    Forget the Anker 521 ... the Anker C1000 is the best alternatively, you can make coffee with its 1800 watts of continuous power and has a 100 watt USB-C charger, the C1000 is lighter and more compact than the Anker F1200

      I agree, a middleweight version is your best bang for buck if you don't have to move it around a bunch. Cheers!

    Thinking of one of these as a UPS to run my tv, cable and dvd unit as a testing platform. Thanks ( kill a watt shows a tv, cable dvd draw of 114 watts ) will do a month of testing before buy another Anker unit

    I can’t get my display to show power out. Does it not work if you are 💯?

    • @ThomperBeThompin
      @ThomperBeThompin  4 месяца назад

      It should work regardless of the state of charge. Maybe try plugging in something different and seeing if it then shows power output?

      @@ThomperBeThompin so, camped with my knockout O2 Cool fan. Turned it on and fell asleep to find it off. I had it in the power saving mode. Again this fan doesn’t show watts being used. Do you think this somehow uses such little amount that it falls under whatever it takes to trigger the power saving mode?

    • @ThomperBeThompin
      @ThomperBeThompin  4 месяца назад

      @@RobBardgett likely not. Even when you have the onboard light on, it shows a 2-watt draw. You may have a faulty unit. It's tough to say without physically seeing it to be able to diagnose

      @@samuelmensalvas9990 it might be close. Volts x Amps = watts. So 100 x 1.8 = 180 at a minimum in your scenario. I'd get the size up to be certain.
