This documentary is amazing. I love how those rangers are risking their lives for the gorillas. And it makes me so sad the fact that these gorillas are killed and have family’s just like we do. Those poachers have no heart.
Years ago I saw an article or something about a young lady that moved to Africa or Australia to join a militia fighting against poachers. Makes me wish there were more documentaries about such tactics, but they are understandably dangerous
They also mentioned a lot of rebel groups. I wonder if these groups also do poaching as a side hustle, or that their main beef is simply with the government and it's politics. It would be nice if leaders of the main rebel groups could agree to not harm the gorillas. They may or may not have legitimate reasons to hate the government but at least it would be nice if they didn't also poach. Give them a chance to commit in return for a seat at the political table, a ceasefire, some more autonomy to whatever (ethnic) group they represent, etc.
Those 'poachers' do have a heart, for feeding their own families, in spite of the fact that often the only paid work is to kill the animals which are often "set up" in these parks to be readily available to be hunted, for profit. Most of that profit is not left in the country of the animal's origin. Consider other animals on game preserves all over Africa. The pangolin, for example. "protected" as are the rhinos. So, how do they perish on the land where they are supposed to be safe? Who is really getting away with eliminating these glorious, majestic and peacecul beings?
@@diatadiatainternationalfol6038 No they dont have a heart im sorry but id rather die of starvation than kill a innocent animal there are other means to feed your family
Park rangers are real heroes. They risk their life to protect the amazing species of their homeland often for a scarce salary. As Earthwatch Institute member I will ever do everything I can do to help them
LOL!! Conservation areas were created in Africa to provide cover for resource theft. Pretend to care about animals so that locals will not profit from the resources coincidentally found in the Wild Life Parks. Yeah, a good scheme. Notice there are NO wildlife parks in England like this.
@@Nonpeon Get off your high horse. They have these conservation areas mostly for tourism and education: without the animals, the government receives no tourism investment and no investment from universities and research institutes. The government NEEDS these animals to fund them. In an area like this no tourism can occur. One reason why there isn't a wildlife conservation like this in England is because you have no wildlife of major conservation interest. England doesnt have a high density of animal, insect, and plant species per unit of land, and is also extremely small in comparison to other places like Africa. Having to control a major land area of a conservation is much different. England is also a 1st world country. These people do care. Are awful things happening behind the scenes? Of course; it happens everywhere. There if always greed. But that does not alter the hard work these individuals put in to protecting these creatures. Putting their lives on the line, they most certainly care. So get off your high horse. You will never have a conservation as beautiful in Englad because England is boring. 🤭
13:50 So true. The interaction with the dominant male was surreal. The non-dominants were scurrying about wounded and defeated. But when you reached the dominant... The way he carried himself was so, well, human. Confident and successful. You can tell he has a lot of respect for humans, and he shows no fear. You can see him thinking. You can see him being anxious. And I think he even actively was showing off... That freaking model pose he struck killed me. Nice going, Mark. Been a while since I loved a video this much!

5 days and 1.3 million views is the example that there are still humans in the world who love nature and want to protect it rather than destroying it Directly or indirectly by ignoring these legendary documentation.
It's ironic that a lot of the humans who "love nature", are the biggest threat to it. You can love something to death. If many of these nature lovers truly loved nature, they would leave it alone and let it be. Loving nature is not being all in it's face, and always trapesing through it.
I agree. They have to know something. If the people in this video were Tigers, or any other animal: the gorillas just simply wouldn't act the way they did, they recognize humans/human nature in some way, and respect us in some way.
@@Flamingo123e Yes we would and also we wouldn’t there are plenty countless times where people have been kind and respectful to foreign people. My favorite wild animal's, are the large male gorilla's. When I was 5 yrs old, my parent's took me to the zoo. It was the zoo in Dallas,Tx., where I grew up. I headed straight to the gorilla area. There was a particular very large male gorilla, that I had made eye contact with. I was so thrilled to see him! My parent's knew how fascinated I was, so they would let me watch him, for as long as I wanted to. I knew he recognized me each time we were there, and from that first time on, my parent's would take me to the zoo often. I came to form a real bonding relationship with him. He was so majestic!!! As soon as he saw me, he walked over, and he never walked away for as long as I was there. I looked into his eye's, and I really felt love and care for him, and I believe he could feel that. I wanted to go into the gorilla area, take him by the hand, and tell him that I was going to find a way to take him, and his family, out of the zoo. I truly wanted them to be back into the jungle, once and for all. I know to this day, he understood that I cared about them. I also knew that he and his family, were being very well taken care of, and he seemed happy where they were... I just wanted to take them back to where they belonged, and that was into the jungle. Now, that was back in the 1960's, and 1970's. The last time I saw him, was in 1979. I cherish the memories of him, and all of his family members, I always will. Everyone that truly love's animal's, can understand what I'm saying. Looking back, I thank God, that I had parent's that were sensitive to the need's of their child. 🤗 🙏💖

Such a generic comment lmao
Yeah truly just garbage humans, props to the rangers and anyone fighting to protect them.
