Possibly the best looking pit viper, and one of the most beautiful snakes I've ever seen, the vibrant emerald green really sets it apart from other snakes along with that red tail. To think you guys still produce documentary style videos on RUclips for us to watch for free, keep up the good work.
I'm fairly certain the gorgeous Sabah pit viper was swearing up a storm at you, Mark! But as you say, it's justified! The grumpy gecko too, for that matter. I have an almost identical reaction to anyone who wakes me up, unless they have a cup of coffee in their hand. 😅
11:19 the snake looking straight at the camera, that is VERY intimidating! The snake is gorgeous. Black and green pair beautifully together. I was expecting it to strike the camera at that moment.
It's probably similar to the other pit vipers in its genus, most of those green bean pit vipers from SE Asia pack very potent venom, on the upper end of toxicity among vipers and rivaling some Elapids.
This is so cool. So happy you guys got permission to look at not only the unique toad but this beautiful snake! I love the vibrancy you find in vipers, I can’t believe this one is so unheard of. Keep up the awesome work crew!
Mangshan Vipers are up there too, tho more probably in captivity than in the wild. Paradise Flying Snakes are absolutely gorgeous, along with the Red Headed Krait, Cave Dwelling Beauty snakes... Lot of really beautiful snakes out there, and thats without getting into the amazing captive examples or just very pretty morphs. Green (Blue) Tree Pythons and Emerald or Amazon Tree Boas. Rough Scale Pit viper and Rhino Vipers are some of my favs. Blue Insularis too.
The fact that you would do this is CRAZY! All of your videos that you create are just mind blowing! Nobody in my family, nor me, would ever do this! Respect to you for your braveness! 🙏❤😊
What a unique and gorgeous snake. Brilliant stuff as always. A couple of suggestions for your next rare snake documentary: 1. Naja christyi (Congo water cobra) 2. Oenpelli python
Those creatures are amazing, there was great moments with some of them! The snake that you wanted to find is so beautiful, I definitely noticed the red tail.
Malcomsi is a cool snake. You could find a Bungarus Flaviceps (Red-headed Krait) on Mount Kinabalu. It is equally as stunning and much, much, much more venomous, but not as aggressive as a pit viper. Easier to handle, probably, too. Very elusive, but worth the hunt to find them.
Apologize for the multiple comments, but just wanted to confirm, I already think snakes are cool, but you're right, now I think they're even cooler! Gorgeous!😮😊 Wait, you found it by a landslide? I thought it was on a tree beside a hill! 😉😏 Thanks for another exciting episode! 💙💙💙
Lmao when this guy said,no one have ever filmed an adult Malcomi i instantly knew that these guys have never came across @Ruperts Reptiles channel. That's so funny how he said that 🤣🤣
Love seeing other fans of Rupert or David. They are where I went to watch reptile videos when BW stopped doing their thing. Not sure why coyote and mark don’t film together anymore but either way love hearing more fans of Rupert and David. They may not have the funding as others but they do such good for conservation for reptiles all over Asia. Plus Rupert’s video came out a month ago only, this BW video was filmed many months before that so at the time it was 100% correct. They film and it takes many months to release their videos due to their editing and sponsors etc. but you are absolutely correct Rupert technically beat them to it since he released the video first
@ I apologize if I’m wrong mate, but I thought it wasn’t possible to post links anymore to the youtube comment section. Either way his page is called “Rupert’s Reptiles” First video ever to show that snake is called “this will go down on history” it’s about 5 months old.. the newest video with that snake is about a month or 2 old only and it’s Called “it happens on the first night” I hope that helps because it’s worth the watch, plus Rupert and David deserve so much more subscriptions for their love and excitement for these wonderful creatures.
If you’re up for a challenge to find a rare snake species, I got one for you: The thread snake! Also known as the blind snake, it’s native to the USA, and they’re super tiny and actually kinda cute.
When I was a little elementary school kid, I used to tell people that snakes do not hiss, because I used to catch snakes all the time and never got bit and never made one angry. Now I know that they can hiss, as a vocal form of defense to try to scare away what they believe is a possible threat.
My son wants to send an episode idea: He thinks it would be really cool if you went down to the Titanic and explored it in a submarine He also says: Be Brave. Stay Wild. See you on the next adventure!
Some of the info in this seems to be incorrect. 1 - I may be wrong, but the red tail of the viper is probably used to lure prey animals to the tail because it looks like a worm, not used to warn predators of venom. We see this tail luring in many other snakes including pit vipers. 2 - It seems to be a common myth that geckos lick their eyes to keep them moist, because their eye is actually covered with a scale called an eye cap, so when you touch it it is completely dry, like a snake's eyes. They probably just lick them to clean them off. But overall, great video.
Holy cow I've never seen one of those. Such gorgeous colors, scale patterns & the shape of its head is awesome. ~Mark have you ever found a Spider Tailed Horned Viper? They have a coddle lure & insane scale texture
I had to laugh at the gecko biting you, as he seemed to be giving you all he could. I get a lot of skinks where I live and some get quite large, maybe 20cm + and one day I was rescuing one such individual when he turned and bit me! No real power in the bite but it was the first time a skink had bitten me so I dropped it in surprise. Thanks love the show take care.
Wasn’t too thrilled initially with mark doing the videos but he’s came a long way. Seriously rivals any of coyote’s content and definitely the most stunning reptile. And I thought blue eyelash vipers were cool! 😅

I think that's called a nictitating membrane, but I could be mistaken. Many geckos don't have them, though, which is why they "lick" their own eyes to moisten them. With that said, I'm very much a reptile hobbyist, not a herpetologist, so take this comment with a grain of salt.

I'm kinda shocked Coyote hasn't made a video on the Wolverine Frog yet. It's a unique frog with hair and claws, those claws being their bone that cuts through their flesh in self defense, like the character Wolverine.
Hey Mark, you should find and showcase the Malayan Blue Coral Snake. They're just as rare, if not more rare than the Malcom's and way more dangerous. I hope to see one on the channel one day! But the Malcom's was super cool, nice yoinks.
they are definitely less rare or at least have a wider distribution. malayan coral snakes are found all over malaysia and thailand. malcolms pit vipers are only really found around mt kinabalu.

Neurotoxin
Hemotoxin
Cytotoxin

Proteolytic
