I would consider this probably your most significant video to date. This is in the heartland of creativity and filmmaking. Your analysis of the component parts is so profound & clearly articulated. You have taught us many techniques over the last few years, and now this brings it together on basis of us putting in the ongoing work. No one covers this elusive stuff. Bravo Ted
Thanks Ted for your video. Wish I could bottle your enthusiasm I would be a rich man. Thanks for the Tunetank thumbs up. I have registered with them I am just fed up with this wet and windy weather over the UK. Sure your UK followers need some settled weather to try out our new knowledge you have given us.
@@TedNemeth Never been only last week me and the wife were on about doing a train holiday on the IOM. There is so much to see and do. Have fun at the TT.
Thank you for dispelling with the myth that simply adding drone footage makes a thing better. This can't be said loud enough. I appreciate how you delivered this message without it being condescending.
My perspective alot of emotion is brought out by the music alone then flowing the video to follow that emotional roller coaster creates a story by itself. Just playing some nice elevator music to some cool drone shots is to reminisce of the last 30 years of computer screen savers.
Thanks for some awesome advice Ted. Agree with all of it and will be applying in my future videos. 80:20 rule springs to mind here - 80% of the outcome is achived in the first 20% of time. So ditch the rest. Keep up the great work!😁
In this episode, I feel like we (your subscribers, as a group), have followed a global training program altogether up to that point, and finally pushed away the introduction about gear, mindset to develop, direction to follow and false problems when filming. We are now chewing the heart of the filmmaking process, and the creativity methodology. On my drone channel, I constantly try to keep in mind your mantra about this…. Keep up your good work, super useful ! 🙏👍
Best video ever from you IMO! Great ideas and advice. Another thing a person can do is turn the lights down in the room and play some evocative music and let the theater of your mind build a movie to the music. Then go out and make that movie.
yesssss! you made my week with that. now that I’m 52 years old i try to share little bits of experiences I’ve picked up along the way and hopefully they land with a few people. That’s all I want from this RUclips venture.
What a bloke. I am starting to think more when I take Big Remo out, and the results are improving dramatically. My editing still sucks, but not for much longer! Thanks Ted.
Thank you, Ted! I just returned from my trip to Utah, where I collected 30 or so Gb of ground- and aerial-based pics and vids to begin my next project. That's more than enough raw material to use as ingredients to bake my next video-entree using your recipe.
I love your channel mate. Its totally different from the rest and all about getting the art right before hitting the record button, slowing down and thinking about it first. I initially stumbled across your videos looking for drone related things but its much more then that. Great wisdom and advice. Thank you.
You’re a legend Ted, love the tips and you’re so right, practising more frequently generates more opportunities for reflection and learning. Will also jump on that masterclass. Not only is it really decent of you for the low price so it’s accessible to many but the way you represented your sponsor and thinking of your audience just demonstrates not only that you know exactly how to reach your audience like you tell us, but proves how genuine you are. Thank you Ted, looking forward to your next masterpiece!
Matthew thank you! man i put a lot of effort into these little playful tutorials. When I hear kind supportive words like yours….thats the juice for me. I bow to your good graces my friend.
Fantastic analysis! I plan to implement this workflow into my process immediately! And I'm one of those satisfied students who thinks that I get a tremendous bang for my buck with your Master Class! Best money I've spent since I bought my drone!
Obviously other viewers share my opinion, this video is the very best you ever made and for me this will become edged in stone as the key to successful videography! THANK YOU, YOU ARE AWESOME‼️👏👏👏👏👍❤️
As always… great. I learn so much from both drone flying tutorials as well as the way you tell your stories. You’ve developed a unique brand and style that works very well for you. Keep the videos coming. I know how difficult creating content can be, but you make it look so easy. Thanks Ted.
Ted, I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel, I'm getting so much out of all your content, thanks so much for putting all this info out there! I feel like, if I'm ever in the States I'll need to head your way and buy you a beer 🍻
Bill you are the man. Thank you for the kind words. I see your thumbnail you’re on an adventure motorcycle. Super cool. I have much more motorcycle content coming. Are you located here in the US?
@@TedNemeth Yep, just south of Seattle. I do one big solo ride every fall & would love to slow my pace a bit to capture the adventure on film. Tons of helpful info, high quality production & presentation. Really good stuff my friend.
I think this is my 5th video i have watched of yours. I was mainly trying to get tips on lighting, ND Filters, Best Drone, what gear do i need, Color Grading. I was heading down that same Rabbit hole so many go into. More worried about the shutter speed with the right ND filter. Not paying attention to what i was filming. Back of my mind I'm thinking can i color grade this? Is all this stress worth it on trying to get the right "Cinematic Shot" without just going out and have fun. Thank you, I'm going to try your tips, and see where it leads me. I have a Air 2s and the mini 2. I'm also getting my Part 107 License next month. This is a great place to start. One question: You noted no music in the "rough cut" but later noted, choosing a song as part of the rough-cut steps. By 'choosing', so you mean, do not drop them in the timeline just, yet as part of the rough cut but just locate the music you might want to use?
@@TedNemeth Yes I love the M4P, I still love my M3P but the 4 has a clearer camera I think plus lots of extras too. My favorite is cruise control, it makes your flights way more cinematic I believe

I really like the channel. Your approach to shooting cinematic footage is refreshing. Quick question for you or any of your followers. I have a Mini 3 Pro with the DJI RC remote (with screen). After shooting my videos, I would like to preview them using the iPhone DJI Fly app or the DJI LightCut app. However, for some reason I can't preview any of the footage. I can see the thumbnails, but I have to download the videos to the phone or iPad before I can see what I shot. And to download, I have to turn off cellular. Has anyone else had problems with previewing directly from the drone? If so, how did you solve it?
Danny I appreciate it! Man I had fun creating this episode. Sharing what I’ve learned about creativity is my sweet spot in life. The Japanese call that IKIGAI.
