@@j.jwhitty5861 I quit opioids and other drugs to enlist. He has to be sick of it. Sick of the people, sick of himself, and sick of the trajectory his life has taken. The old adage you can lead a horse to water, but can't make them drink applies. I did what Taylor did here minus the emergency room, I had sleep meds on hand to help. You can use high dose loperamide(immodium) to help dampen the physical symptoms a bit. It is an opioid that does not bind to the receptors in the brain, just the gut.

I kicked 3 different drugs at the same time in County jail.. H, xanax, & coke.. kicked for two weeks straight and didn’t sleep the entire time.. kicking in the comfort of a hospital bed is excruciating but this was another level.. I remember wishing I was dead instead of enduring that suffering.. I still have nightmares about it all the time.. then I’ll wake up panting and thanking god it was just a dream.. looking back though it was the only way I was gunna stop because jail forced me too.. I have nothing but gratitude for my life, what I’ve been through and who I am today..

Best advice ever is "change your location" . This is platinum level advice. The reason is because the brain is forced to lay down or forge new neuro pathways . It doesn't have the quick option to relapse by simply following that addiction pathway in your brain. It's got no map, no contacts , nothing familiar to accomplish that high it seeks. Change of location is a "check mate". The old map is no good, so it becomes a blank slate , a new canvas to paint a new portrait of you. Proceed with caution, establish new contacts and comforts carefully. A new clean canvas is as much an opportunity to paint a wonderful new portrait as it is to paint something worse. Still, it's the way to go for real shot at a new life. Thank you Tcav, you are doing the Lord's work. You're a real one, you're a hero and good brother to all your brothers out there. Life sucks, but having leaders like you makes it better. Thank you again sir, ..permission to go ashore!

@@ericaddis7414 a support system of good people with no ulterior motives is indeed as important. Relapse happens because the healthy connection we need is not there(not blameshifting, just highlighting a missing piece).
Always remember this brothers.." the opposite of addiction is NOT SOBRIETY...IT' IS CONNECTION TO PEOPLE, ACCEPTANCE, COMMUNITY, COMPANIONSHIP. "
That high we feel and chase is nothing more than a quick concentrated dose of the SAME feel good chemicals we get when we are a part of a group of good people!!!
Drugs are a supplement to what's missing in our lives.
Keep pushing brothers..you are not alone, many are hurting along side you..help replace what's missing out there by having gratitude and love and willingness to help others...lift others first and you will be lifted! @@tcavofficial it's an honor to highlight this sir. If the minds of men are like gardens..you have enriched the soil , planted seeds, pulled weeds, poured water where needed, and helped the overall eventual harvest of good fruit to grow much bigger. A job well done on a harvest you won't really see for yourself...that's love brother..for that I am thankful....only one will see this harvest.. the owner of the farm and His Son, and many will rejoice at the banquet because of your work and the work of others like you. @@angelagreen1266 one thing i would say is talk to your doctor and see if you can get on a suboxone or methadone taper, i did it cold turkey but that's really unnessecary brutality if you can get access to one of those two.
if that doesn't work, your second option, depending on your local jursidiction it may be legal to buy, which is kratom, long story short it's an opioid plant but it's a lot more mild and in terms of OD potential is essentially impossible (if you go overboard you'll get sick though, don't try that), that will help mitigate withdrawals and you can easily scale out your doses and cut each 7 days or so by 0.5g.

This is such a great video for those struggling. Your advice is spot on and honestly works, I lived it too. Been addicted twice and both times relocating helped me defeat my habit. When you have a dealer living 10 mins away, on a phone number you memorized because you tried blocking it and that won’t work. You try taking off work, and toughing it out. Or go camping for a week. Well, when you come home you will be that close all over again, and giving in is always easier than sticking it out. FORCING yourself by relocating, even temporarily (6 months to a year) can do wonders. You have no contacts, no way back to the source, and you have no choice but to go for it. This alleviates so much of the mental temptations and makes it easier to go through, at least in my experience. Thanks for your video bro you’re the man

You should speak more on this. There's no shortage of people who need to hear that there IS a a way out and it CAN be beaten. The hopelessness that addicts face every day is overwhelming and to see someone who has beaten it and not looked back is like hope to them. Most addicts only see other addicts and the like so they spiral downward but hearing from someone who cut all that loose and moved on really sticks with them. You may never know how many people you've helped but I bet you'll be blessed for it. Karma works both ways.

There's only one way out of this, and that's to make a complete change in your life. You need to have the determination to improve yourself, become stronger, and take charge of your life. Get rid of all your drug-dealing contacts and stop hanging out with friends who are addicts. That last part should be easy, considering how dangerous fentanyl is these days!

Got news for the drug free drinking types like me. Choosing not to was amazing especially getting rid of cigarettes a year afterwards. Then the inflammation began. I could barely get up at 4AM to go to work a 12-14 hr easy day on my 6-7 day workweek. You realize part of the reason you boozed was to kill your inflammation and joint pain. Once I realized a Fck ton of it was nutrition I began to use my booze $$ I used to spend at the bar on certain supplements. Keeping what worked getting rid of what didn’t. Pretty soon the body that “Wanted” to repair began to. Because it realized I wasn’t trying to prevent the process anymore. Then after retiring I got back into the gym. Haven’t missed days other than 4 injuries from skipping brain day lifting wrong or too heavy. But at 59 I’m in better shape with more mass than I was at 25-35. The gym is the answer for raising energy levels and getting into a business friendly attitude that is change friendly. Tx for sharing T/Cav. Glad you pushed through it. Keep writing things down and focusing on future not past. Enabling you to stay in your present frame not your past. You should seriously consider starting a one or two week retreat camp for guys who want to improve lifting techniques and nutrition intake and attitude improvement somewhere it’s sunny AF like the keys so guys like me in New England can plan a winter vacation but still lift and get the necessary Vitamin D we lack up here. The good weather just happened here 2 days ago. Spring this year has been pretty limp. You can market yourself as the John Anthony West of bodybuilding retreats like he used to with trips to the pyramids. Get Goggins to do motivational seminar days. Hell I’d go just to hear him make us all laugh our balls off busting out jokes.

I've battled addiction as well. Somehow, my withdrawal wasn't extreme, but instead I suffered a lot of mental health issues like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I'm past all of that now after lifestyle changes, a long period of medication and growth, and treatment with neurofeedback. I know that I am actually cured and sober no longer need meds and have been off then for years, but am still working my way through the stigma and governmental restrictions of having these kinds of records. I've had to learn the hard way that stuff like that, legal and mental health records, don't go away easily or never go away, and this might be a lifelong process. However, everything you're saying is absolutely true, especially about location because that's how my bf did it, and I hope this message reaches a lot of people. It can truly change many lives for the better. ❤

Appreciate your honesty! Its wild how withdrawals effect everyone so differently. For me it was heart rate and blood pressure high, hot then cold, sweating when cold and sleeping for only 30 to 45 min at a time for 4 or so days then my joints hurt and had zero energy, appetite ect for another few days and finally came out of it. I was put on percocet for multiple surgeries then put in pain management. The crazy thing is they wanted to give me another drug thats also physically addictive to come off the opiate which i thought was crazy. Keep killing it man really appreciate your honesty and content! The gym & my dogs luckily keep me sober and focused on something else on those days when the suck is bad now

Been a big fan from early on listening to your stories, experiences and motivational words for both men and women but young men especially and it gives me hope to see more men coming forward and stepping up to give and set positive representations of grown men in their communities and that applies to both online AND offline (And sadly whether we like it or not, with the current trajectories the amount of kids whose social lives and communities will exist mostly if not ENTIRELY online is increasing immensely so)
Keep up the good work bud. 🤙
(Also for anyone who might be confused because on video or text can be hard to convey content, intent and such , Opiates doesn't get woven into your double helixes *Just like methadone doesn't get deposited or build up in your bones/bone marrow* Although with how immensely pervasive and endemicly widespread its influence, it's effects - and especially the hellish effects of what happens when it's suddenly physically NOT present anymore, it's like it shouts, shoots and screams even louder to make itself and its presence known even more? it sure fucking feels like it*
And to anyone going through it right now? You will, and each step of the way even if you might have a small "slip up" you're going in the right direction, just be honest with yourself and those around you- even at the cost of upsetting/angering or disappointing someone because I can guarantee you, you're not as good at hiding it and your behaviours as you think you are, and people talk and worry. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
And when you DO make mistakes, make sure you pick yourself up, look at what just happened, WHY it happened, what decisions you made / didn't make, write shit down and take down and learn from all of those lessons, those triggers and what you will do about it next time to ensure it doesn't happen again, dust yourself off and get back in the fight.
I love you all. Be safe, and be better, for you and when you're ready, those around you who love you.

Just discovered you and I’m a new sub! I have done it all man and I remember coming off just lortabs and it was hell. I thought lol, I got myself back then and endless amount of money to buy with and didn’t run out. If I did it wasn’t long. But Fentanyl became something I clung too at the end. With the tabs I didn’t go thru anything you did but I used that same thing. I told myself I went thru Ft. Benning and that was tough I can do this. Yea I beat tabs that way but I didn’t change my location and the first day I was over it a “Buddy” hit me up and I ruined that. Then 3 years more I was coming off fent like you. Bro that is the worst! I went weeks wondering when it would let up. I finally suffered thru to an appointment I made for a sub program. Anyway years later I’m still on subs but haven’t touched a thing. I changed my location too and don’t know anyone anymore. Thing is with these I’m in that same boat. Out and gotta work and get thru, like this morning, but coming across your video helps! Great job getting thru! This shits for the birds man! I’m hoping one day to never have a second thought about “meds” ever again!

So if you’re going through withdrawal it’s well worth the money to buy the iv combo to come to your house and get you feeling better.

Man I wanted to change cuz I was injecting fent multiple times a day for years as well as using crack. Fent withdrawls are a million times worse than heroin. I was arrested again in my area so when I was out I forced myself into rehab somewhere far away. I did detox for a week and a half, rehab for 3 months, moves into a halfway house for 6 months, then got a job and moved into a sober house for around a year. I was still on a low rung of society but I was doing okay. Then I had to move back home to deal with court and my remaining sentences cuz I got house arrest and 2 years probation/parole. So stuck in the same damn place. Even not using those drugs my spirit is just dead being here. No job, live In the middle of nowhere, can't drive cuz they took my license. I did all this work and it just seems so wasted. I wish I could find one single thing to be locked onto. Always used to be music but everything feels pointless. Just saw your interview on that urban channel and the story was crazy but gave hope.
