Same. First I heard of feminism and what it apparently stands for I thought ‘what a unnecessarily one-sided term’. No matter how you slice it it implies that either men or masculinity is a bad thing.
But what if they don't actually want it?
Growing up and watching the societal shift over the last 2 decades or so made it almost impossible for any sane man to be / stay a feminist. Women were behind and struggling in some ways, so we changed literally everything to help and cater to women. That's fine! I'm okay with that, I want everyone to have equal opportunity. Now, men are behind and struggling, and what do women say? "Man up", "that's men's problem", "women are just better". Women have really showed their true colours, and yes I'm confident in that generalisation.
Look up the statistics for college attendance and graduates by gender, look up deaths of despair, look up homelessness, look up sentence inequality, job mortality, the list goes on. Men are hanging on by a thread and yet feminism keeps grinding. Women look at the top 0.0001% of men, these rich CEO types, and cry about oppression, not realising that the majority of men are way below them already.

There's a bunch of very kind-hearted women I know, and it looks to me that you've only been exposed, either through social media or through real life, to the kind that you mentioned in ur comment. I believe a lot of what you're saying though, because I've met a lot of nasty women who hope for all men to suffer and all that (and those appear to be the ones that surround you online/irl) but u just gotta trust me when I say not all women are like that.
Sorry if my answer seems like it sucks, but I feel like for this type of question, rather than answering with statistics that some people may prefer (like "according to a survey by Rice University, only 12.3% of women in the U.S. believe in true gender equality"), it's better to use empirical evidence, so yeah.

Feminism’s problem is treating 99% of the average man as if they are the top 1% of men that are in office and actually have power. I’m not oppressing anybody, on average women probably make more $ than I do. Imo, the issue isn't that feminist people don't care about men, but institutional feminism doesn't, and that's where the funds go and where policies are made.
Example:
For STEM, there are initiatives to get more women into those studies. For humanities, teaching degrees, etc , nothing for men, despite similar gaps. Do my feminist friends care about that? Absolutely. Feminist institutions? Not one bit.

I hard disagree. I think it's about emotions and control and has nothing at all to do with being right. The right answers should be obvious and simple but it gets muddled for an agenda.
@@DrHuxley- There is no obvious answer for this. It's too complex. I honestly do not think there is an answer. I was saying years ago that Japan was just ahead of the curve. Well. The US has caught up to where Japan was and Japan is further still. All those years ago Japan didn't have social media or Tinder. What they had was an economic system after the crash that incentivized being single and an absolutely exploitative toxic work culture. Some other social stuff in their too, and they didn't have this version of feminism. But those were the two big problems. Back then it was mostly men checking out after looking at it. Now it's both men and women. Well. The US is catching up fast to where Japan was. Add in social media and other internet apps. Here we are. To fix this we have to rearrange the economy, which isn't going to happen. Fix work culture, which isn't going to happen. Fix some social stuff, which isn't going to happen. And convince the entire country to drop certain parts of social media. Which isn't going to happen. We're going to have to do the same thing Japan is reluctantly doing. Redefine normal. It isn't going away. It's a new feature of society we just have to learn to deal with.
Oh And Asmon is wrong. It's possible to work very hard, do everything right, and still end up broke. He got very very lucky. He knows that, he says that, but I don't think he truly understands the full ramifications. I know he still has RL friends outside of this that aren't doing the greatest. He's talked about it. But it's very hard to put himself in that mindset completely.

Most red pill content doesn't say their problem is women per se. They say work on yourself, fix yourself. Go earn, go to the gym, but avoid women because they won't help you get better, especially if you are already broken. You will not be valued by a woman or society except in your capacity to earn. Going into it with eyes open and knowing that doesn't hurt a guy. It lets them engage without being surprised by the way the world will treat them. It also tells them it is on them to fix it and themselves.

Generally, i see MRA's as the type of male advocate who's interested in revising the laws and policies that needlessly leverage women over men in society. As a male, I've seen sexism several times but mostly against male.
As a teen trying to get a job in fast food restaurant employees telling me the boss only hire girls cause they clean better than boys. (mostly in subways)
As a college student trying to be a waiter cause it paidwell. They hired attractive girls instead even tho I was busboy there (happened in 2 restaurants)
As an adult, my job in construction you need 4-5 years experience to apply to big companies but woman gets instantly hired as soon as they get the diploma
So yeah I grew sceptic about the purpose of feminism nowadays.
Historically theyd hire one (pretty)woman everywhere just so the boss had a good looking woman around on his payroll. Now you get tax cuts for hiring certain % of women that are so large that if you dont your business literally cant stay competitive(by design)...

That can be in trying to get sexual favors in return for favoritism at work, or in the sense that women tend to be less argumentative to "authorities" so you can pressure them to do or accept things more easily(in context to actual work, or pay)

As a teen i worked at a coldstone where the boss only hired girls. The only men were me and my brother and the GM was a sexist who literally would tell the boss all the men are too slow to work there. I had to fight for my job at 16 and play work politics to get the other woman to speak up for me and my best friend who also is a male from being fired because she didn't like men. Funny thing is when a 300lb woman came into the store and shit all over the bathroom (walls around the toilet it was everywhere it was like she exploded) The Toxic Fem GM asked me to clean it because "I'm a man" I told her to do it because she's the GM lol. She later called the store owner and HE cleaned it up. I think she loves woman so much he should have made her clean it. The audacity to tell me to clean it because I was a man was insane to me. Some people just have no business with even an ounce of power.

Only time a woman listens to a man's feelings (good mother's excluded) is when they can use it as ammunition shamelessly in a later argument. I have been with multiple women, and this is one thing they've all had in common, but God forbid you do the same. The lack of accountability in modern woman is also a huge problem and the fact that traditional values are being left in the dust. People are painting the traditional woman as weak but it's the opposite being able to raise children and have the empathy to nurture and heal others is a superpower. It's a shame that so many modern women are naive enough to fall for the scam that being a divine feminine is wrong. This message coming from a single father whose baby mama doesn't see her son. We lack family structures because society is telling woman that looking good for a decade of their life is more important than being a mother and proper individual. The game rewards the behavior that is encouraged. Mothers are failing their daughters not teaching them how to be respectable young woman and somehow will teach their daughter it's the father's fault creating "daddy issues" and to some degree it is but no one expects a mother to teach her son how to be a man like they expect a father to so why should a father be held to teach his daughter more than her mother. These anti-woman internet celebrities are horrible too teaching a guy to just focus on him and get his money up is a good thing until he realizes he now has all this money and is unable to find genuine love because now girls see him as an atm and a means to getting what they want in life. Western society feels like shit for men when it comes to dating and relationships that's why we have so many passport bros, they figured it's easier to find a traditional/grateful woman in a 3rd world country that has nothing and hasn't been tainted by the extreme ideologies of the west. Bring back the nuclear family just don't let men beat and mistreat their wives like it's the 30's (which wouldn't happen cause divorce isn't looked at a insane sin anymore) and it'd be fine you'd have a lot more mentally stable folks walking around.

So I work an office job for a large company and on international woman's day the head of HR (who is a woman) sent a company wide email in response. I'm all about equality, but to paraphrase what she said it was along the lines of, 'Men need to understand the advantages and luxuries they enjoy in the workplace, especially when it comes to career progression' . I worked so hard to get where I am now, and instead of empowering and uplifting woman, it undermined the effort of and diminished every male that has worked to get where they are. Also this is in a company where majority of upper management is female, and she was praised and applauded for doing this. HOW is this okay?? This is the point where modern societal feminism is at (in many cases) so it's no WONDER we're seeing younger guys turn on and become aggressive towards what was originally about genuine equality.
And after reading that email is when some dude goes to rumble and continues his Tate or Fresh and Fit podcast on his phone about how to become more masculine and get an overseas traditional woman to become his wife and live a happy life.

The CEO of the company I work for is a woman. Half or more of the administrative positions are held by women.
Yet during company meetings and presentations, they bring up inequality towards women in the workplace etc.
A female CEO and a heavily-female administration, telling a huge group of men who make significantly less money about how much work "we still have to do towards equality". The dissonance is insane.
And yes of course the women in the company are celebrated every year on international woman's day. Celebrated purely for the genitals they were born with.
And of course it includes people who identify as women.
In other words, companies celebrate people who were born female, or those who renounced their masculinity, with absolutely no tie to their performance or hard work.
Truly it is a mystery why so many men are bitter about it.
Complain about it, make your voice heard, that’s what women did that’s why they are the bosses. If you don’t think it’s fair then push back. Don’t expect them to give up their new found power though. One of the big problems for the "good" feminists that theoretically don't hate men, is that they rarely if ever acknowledge, let alone criticize, the feminists that hate men in their name.
That makes it very hard to defend the ideology as one that is really about equality for men and women. It comes across more often as "men and women should be equal, but also women should be more equal than men."
Ideologically, they can't criticize it. Diversity of tactics is a political ideology that is specific to the left. It's why they don't call out riots or physical attacks against ppl who don't agree with them.

As a man who lives and grew up in Finland its always ridiculous to me when I hear a Finnish woman complain how women are disadvantaged here,etc,etc. the things you hear in the U.S. and every single time I bring up how she wasnt forced to sacrife a year of her life before college for mandatory military service with the threat of going to prison they dodge the subject or say thats not relevant. Now I didn't mind going to the army for a year and didnt think much about it because it was something I knew was coming since I was kid. It gave me more time to mature but when I think about it now its kind of bs. When I started college every girl I knew from high school was already on their second year, starting internships,etc. 1 year ahead of me and I was 1 year older with 1 year less experience pretty much. In the end I got a bunch or stupid, fun and awful memories from my 1 year in the army but if I have ever seen inequality between genders I would say this is one of those things.

Yes. Because alot of people that do the analysis and that work in media, have the deeply flawed idea that "Progress" is always a leftward march over time. This means that they don't even think twice about how insane the left has gotten over the last 2 decades, and instead are terrified and flabbergasted by even the slightest push in the other direction.
A visualization of how different philosophical views see things:
1) Progressive worldview can be seen as driving on a collapsing bridge and staying ahead of the crumbling behind you, meaning any slowdown or reversal in thier mind would be catastrophy.
2) Extremely conservative people view it as a road where on the left side of the road is a cliff-face and on the right is further inland, thus safer from falling off a cliff and therefor consider 0 drawbacks to going further right (and thier strongest argument is that the values they hold got humanity through actuall millenia of evolution and the rise and fall of civilizations).
3) The centrist position see a road along the top of a mountain ridge, where if you steer too far to either side you will obviously fall off the edge and crash and burn.
Personally I am in the center. If something is tried and obviously isn't working, the solution usually isn't to TRIPPLE DOWN on that path, but to turn back onto the road. And if you over-correct to the other side, you neee to turn back again before going off that edge instead. It's a balancing act.

I love how other people tell us how we should behave. That's the classic "You're lazy" or "You don't work hard enough" we've been hearing from older generations but now it's "You will save us" because they were too lazy to help themselves. The college I went to now has a massively higher female attendance and graduation rate than male. Despite this they still have a litany of programs exclusive to women that aim to aid them along in their education. They even have entire female only programs now. Men attend and graduate at a significantly lower rate, yet women are still the ones getting held up and primarily supported.

Something interesting to me about this is I recently tried to bring some awareness for men's health since its Men's Health Awareness month on the WoW forums, and that thread was taken down within a few hours because advocating for men is hate speech, antagonistic, and offensive. Meanwhile, a post that leaned very heavily into racism from both sides of the fence was allowed to stay up for three or four times as long. I guess the forums think men are worse than racism.

Egalitarianism when applied to men and women is arguably worse than feminism since it hurts both sides instead of just one. Women's sports for example isn't egalitarian, yet it's necessary to be fair because women aren't equal to men.

Just that you are able to treat situations without a specific bias towards one side or the other. The other thing that I don’t think women understand is that gaining power and influence brings with it an immense amount of responsibility to use that effectively and ethically.
Movements never die, even when they've completed their purpose. When there's no injustice they need to fabricate it, or make differences seem like one sided injustice to continue justifying their existence. So social movements always turn toxic when they've achieved their original goal.

Soneone at 6:35 said something I've been saying for a while now: "It's important to know there are many good women and men out there, the internet just portray[s] the bad things."
Rage bait is common and a rampant problem online, and it's effective for a reason. People are much more responsive to negative outcomes than positive ones. This is common among not just humans but pretty much all animals. This doesn't mean there aren't issues that need to be addressed, but it does put things into perspective. There are a lot more decent people out there than there are bad, we just only hear about the bad because it makes headlines.
Lastly: None of this is to invalidate or make the problems that people have dealt with lesser/reduce their importance. If people are dealing with racism it should be called out and the racists should be called out too. Same goes for any problem of prejudice or objectively immoral hate. Handle individual problems on an individual level.

While I do agree that improving the family structure and going back to nuclear families the norm would help a lot. The issue is that feminist cant let that happen. Because you'd need to fundamentally change how divorce law and the family court work.

For example, US government entertained the idea of adding the draft for women 4 years ago. as a mother of 3 young boys, i have genuine fears about them growing up in a culture that demonizes masculinity. i was raised in a conservative christian home where men were revered as the strong leaders, head of house figures. women were nurturers and supporters. and i don't personally think there is anything wrong with these roles, it has been the structure and backbone of the family system for thousands and thousands of years. and i might get a lot of hate from other women when i say this but we can see examples in society where when women are given leadership control, the systems fail. one example, the education system is now almost completely dominated by women, and our education in this country has gone to shit. and i believe it is because women are more easily manipulated. i said what i said. i think men need to be supported now more than ever, and i try my hardest to raise my boys with the mindset of being a strong leader and protector, but this world is definitely doing its best to make it as hard as possible for men to succeed in that role.

Discipline has plummeted, and finland has dropped quite low. On some facets of education, Finland is now below the OECD average. We are now trying to figure out what went wrong, and it's mostly that all discipline disappeared.
Who goes to war and gets blown up or watches their buddy get blown up in a trench? Who takes all the hard jobs? I work in a pulp mill. 12 hr rotating shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off. Take a nap then repeat. There's zero women here. Not because they won't hire women, we'd love to have some women around here it's all smelly dudes right now but women don't apply to jobs like this. Same with construction and any field that involves long shifts and or hard labor. And that's one of the real reasons for the wage difference between men and women. They want to force gender equality then are you going to force women to go to war and take hard jobs or is it only going to go in the other direction?

historically speaking that is fairly true, you had the "war front" and the "home front". while yes people at the home front were working hard to ensure they get the equipment to the frontlines, you need to realise that a lot of these people didn't wanna go to war. take ww1 for example, if you were a young men who refused to go to war, you would literally be shamed and called a coward for not fighting for you country, then you had the veterans who came back from the war and looked down upon as pathetic and useless. in either case, you you lost either way. the best way i can put it, if you were a civilian, life fucking sucked, badly. but if you were a soldier, you didn't care if life sucked, you would care more then you live another day and not die a gruesome death (big difference).
i don't think OP was insinuating he wanted people die fighting in a war. i think he addressing that if people want gender equality, why not also force women to serve (in the same way that men get drafted), if you wanna have gender equality, you have to enforce the same standards across the board.

I'm bipolar to the point that I'm medically disabled . I've been rejected for the most basic of help for the most ridiculous of reasons . If I was a woman or if I was a member of a minority group people would be losing their shit at the level of incompetence I've had to face in the face of a mountain of medical documentation and evidence. Instead they just keep telling me to call back when I'm 55 and that's including the cowardly lawyers that won't take the case cuz they might have to do a little work. They're literally making me have to come to the point where it is going to reach a day where I'm going to have to choose crime over hunger. Whose fault is that going to be ..... I've been screaming for help for 25 years but who's fault is it going to be ......

An Australian here, in the news recently there has been headlines about a court case where this women set up an art exhibition in am museum where basically its a women's only gallery and no man can see it. the women basically said her exhibition is an "opportunity to gather in peace as women without men." and teach men how women were treated in history. the court case was brought up on discriminatory grounds. to quote from the "artist"' "The Ladies Lounge is an essential space for perspective and reset from this strange and disjointed world of male domination,” .... “There should be more of them.” '.
