Never heard of this my entire life but it just hit me like a bunch of bricks. Yeah, why is it gendered? Let's make sure, whatever it is, both side gets the same.
It should have been called, 'equalism'. It refers to the point of equality, and authentic fairness, without including the presupposition of a gendered favoritism bias.
Same. First I heard of feminism and what it apparently stands for I thought ‘what a unnecessarily one-sided term’. No matter how you slice it it implies that either men or masculinity is a bad thing.
Feminism’s problem is treating 99% of the average man as if they are the top 1% of men that are in office and actually have power. I’m not oppressing anybody, on average women probably make more $ than I do. But yet I’m treated like I’m a senator trying to pass laws against women, or I’m somehow more well off because I potentially have an ancestor 200 years ago who had slaves.

I'm a 28 year old male living in the UK I have a 30 year old Sister we're not idiots, and we're both in similar getting by financial positions, we get on well and what I'm about to talk about was in no way personal. but a few months ago I was driving my sister somewhere and we had a conversation about men's issues and she acknowledged that young men are suffering from poor mental health, struggling to find a place in this world and all the traditional advantages of being a man no longer apply to young men, however she then said but that's not my problem that's your problem, so in a world where all the traditional societal advantages of being a man have disappeared and all the societal advantages of being a women in terms of relationships and help that's out there still exist, an educated women in my age group that I respect tells me that the problems young men face are not women's problems so women have no responsibility to care.... in the UK women under 30 are on average more likely to receive higher education and on average make more money than men do in the same age demographic, women don't view young men's issues as something they should care about, women naturally support and love each other more, whereas men are competitive, so as a young man their are very few people out there who care about you or your struggles.... so tell me why the fuck should I care about or support feminism?
You should tell your sister her answer is cruel. Women who come to the conclusion that only men should care about men’s issues are cruel, period. This is coming from a 28F from the US, btw. Yes, women have suffered before, but now we suffer much less, and it does keep getting better over time. Ask her this - “Why would you tell me the same thing men told women 50 years ago?” The vast majority of men back then had the view that the ladies needed to lift themselves up. Men ended up helping out over time. Is this how we repay them? Life is give and take. Don’t be cruel, don’t divide the genders in such a way.

@@GothicGali To be honest, I am not so sure women are suffering less. As we've thrown out traditional roles, women are forced to be both father (provider) and mother (nurturer). Over 25% of them are on SSRIs and report disproportionate levels of mental health issues (especially if they are liberal). They are having less children, report less life satisfaction and increasingly, are finding themselves alone as they age. You are correct that we are all in this together. We all benefit from living in healthier networks and using ill-perceived historical interpretations to demonize or subjugate half of our citizenry is not a sustainable pathway. All of the problems we are seeing, especially in the youth, could be mitigated by women simply reembracing or at least reprioritizing their roles as mothers without the need to throw away any pursuits they may have. Instead of spending their 20's and 30's chasing a career, and if they are lucky, finding a man and then having children--they could focus first on finding men and building a family and when the kids are old enough, pursuing their careers with zero interruptions. Its a win-win-win for everyone. Men can reembrace their role with women, women can have kids with reduced risk of infertility, and kids win because they get a bit more of that established reinforced household that is statistically proven to produce better-prepared kids.

Historically theyd hire one (pretty)woman everywhere just so the boss had a good looking woman around on his payroll. Now you get tax cuts for hiring certain % of women that are so large that if you dont your business literally cant stay competitive(by design)... Its a 'soft' mandate
Had it happen with a little gaming store in a city I lived when I was younger. If you don't want to hire me, just don't hire me. Don't tell me you only hire women because they are more trustworthy and responsible. I think he had other reasons he only hired women but that's besides the point...

Now I didn't mind going to the army for a year and didnt think much about it because it was something I knew was coming since I was kid. It gave me more time to mature but when I think about it now its kind of bs. When I started college every girl I knew from high school was already on their second year, starting internships, etc. 1 year ahead of me and I was 1 year older with 1 year less experience pretty much. In the end I got a bunch or stupid, fun and awful memories from my 1 year in the army but if I have ever seen inequality between genders I would say this is one of those things.
Funny, a study just came out showing that something like 6/7 Finnish women agree with mainstream social justice talking points vs 1/7 men. It also showed that the more you agreed the more miserable you were on average. Interesting read
They haven't changed that yet? I thought most of us in the Nordic were pretty similar there? in Norway in 2010 they made it so gender didn't matter, everyone has to show up now for that first meeting at least.
Similar in the US. Politicians talked about bringing back conscripted service during the big Middle East conflicts. Men in the US would have Ben forced to serve. Women wouldn't be. Who's pushing for equality again?
One of the big problems for the "good" feminists that theoretically don't hate men, is that they rarely if ever acknowledge, let alone criticize, the feminists that hate men in their name. That makes it very hard to defend the ideology as one that is really about equality for men and women. It comes across more often as "men and women should be equal, but also women should be more equal than men."
Ideologically, they can't criticize it. Diversity of tactics is a political ideology that is specific to the left. It's why they don't call out riots or physical attacks against ppl who don't agree with them.
Tbh it’s more of a situation where two things are happening: - echo chamber effect that is the internet, where you tend to surround yourself with confirmation bias Along with: - the Lefts propensity for cancelling itself having different viewpoints The patriarchy concept is widely understood by normal people to be problematic for everyone in that type of structure. Unrealistic expectations on all gender roles. But twitter is full of psycho people who surround themselves with people who support a view that doesn’t reflect the majority of people and blows it up, making it seem like it’s mainstream … but it’s not.
Don't ask "good feminists" to call out "bad feminists". You tell "bad feminists" that they're not feminists. It's VERY effective. They don't have a counter for it.
Feminism was never about gender equality, even in the beginning. Many of the historical claims of feminism are simply one-sided interpretations of how genders were/are required to function in society. For example, women claim to have had less job opportunity back 100 years ago, and while that might have been true, it was due to the fact that men were expected and required to support a family. Women were not required to support their families with the money they earned. So giving jobs to women would lead to supporting 1 person, giving jobs to men would mean supporting 2-3+ people. Another one: men got the vote just because they HAD to go to war. Women claim they had a lot of limitations and obligations, but so did men. Both sexes were oppressed by their obligations.
While men were traditionally the breadwinners in the household, that did also give them more social power and freedom. Womans limited job opportunities also stemmed from the lack of educational opportunities, legal rights etc. In the early 1900s more universities admitted women, but the choices were more restricted to fields deemed appropriate for women at the time. In the US until the 1970s woman couldn't open their own bank account without a man, be it her father or her husband as a co-signer. Also, why wouldn't she spend her money on her children? Its not like women today only spend money on themselves.
Men didn't even get the vote until after so many of them died in WWI that it was seen as unfair that men could be sent to die by a government they have no say in.
So I work an office job for a large company and on international woman's day the head of HR (who is a woman) sent a company wide email in response. I'm all about equality, but to paraphrase what she said it was along the lines of, 'Men need to understand the advantages and luxuries they enjoy in the workplace, especially when it comes to career progression' . I worked so hard to get where I am now, and instead of empowering and uplifting woman, it undermined the effort of and diminished every male that has worked to get where they are. Also this is in a company where majority of upper management is female, and she was praised and applauded for doing this. HOW is this okay?? This is the point where modern societal feminism is at (in many cases) so it's no WONDER we're seeing younger guys turn on and become aggressive towards what was originally about genuine equality.
And after reading that email is when some dude goes to rumble and continues his Tate or Fresh and Fit podcast on his phone about how to become more masculine and get an overseas traditional woman to become his wife and live a happy life.
100% The CEO of the company I work for is a woman. Half or more of the administrative positions are held by women. Yet during company meetings and presentations, they bring up inequality towards women in the workplace etc. A female CEO and a heavily-female administration, telling a huge group of men who make significantly less money about how much work "we still have to do towards equality". The dissonance is insane. And yes of course the women in the company are celebrated every year on international woman's day. Celebrated purely for the genitals they were born with. And of course it includes people who identify as women. In other words, companies celebrate people who were born female, or those who renounced their masculinity, with absolutely no tie to their performance or hard work. Truly it is a mystery why so many men are bitter about it.
Complain about it, make your voice heard, that’s what women did that’s why they are the bosses. If you don’t think it’s fair then push back. Don’t expect them to give up their new found power though. Men didn’t want to give it up, why would women want to? You have to at least ask, and if that doesn’t work then demand it

because this people are progressive... that is why, they think they are right at all cost and if you are becoming conservative that is bad... because man are the only ones that can stop or change stuff.
Yes. Because alot of people that do the analysis and that work in media, have the deeply flawed idea that "Progress" is always a leftward march over time. This means that they don't even think twice about how insane the left has gotten over the last 2 decades, and instead are terrified and flabbergasted by even the slightest push in the other direction. A visualization of how different philosophical views see things: 1) Progressive worldview can be seen as driving on a collapsing bridge and staying ahead of the crumbling behind you, meaning any slowdown or reversal in thier mind would be catastrophy. 2) Extremely conservative people view it as a road where on the left side of the road is a cliff-face and on the right is further inland, thus safer from falling off a cliff and therefor consider 0 drawbacks to going further right (and thier strongest argument is that the values they hold got humanity through actuall millenia of evolution and the rise and fall of civilizations). 3) The centrist position see a road along the top of a mountain ridge, where if you steer too far to either side you will obviously fall off the edge and crash and burn. Personally I am in the center. If something is tried and obviously isn't working, the solution usually isn't to TRIPPLE DOWN on that path, but to turn back onto the road. And if you over-correct to the other side, you neee to turn back again before going off that edge instead. It's a balancing act.
it's funny how we use that word "liberal" yet those liberals want the most rules and structure the world to their ideals in a forceful way and anybody who disagrees is a bigot.
A couple of years ago I was on R*ddit and responding to some far left people who were going on about how "gen z will save us", I told them that gen z will end up being the most conservative generation in a long time, they laughed and insulted me. I bet today they are screeching to the skies.
I love how other people tell us how we should behave. That's the classic "You're lazy" or "You don't work hard enough" we've been hearing from older generations but now it's "You will save us" because they were too lazy to help themselves. It's almost as if the older generation was projecting what they wanted to see in the younger gen.
@@Dante02d12 this is something that nobody else talks about but im gonna bring it up here because i feel like people ignore this thought process. so my theory is: Every single generation after gen Z will be more conservative than the last, and the left is trying to take over the culture to counteract this. Think about it, most modern people of the left want to live child free lives, as seen by the rapidly declining birth rates and the new sense of self prioritization taking over old gen Z and young millennials, you wanna know who are having children? People with traditional conservative family values, people who go to church, etc. A majority of the time, children eventually take on the values they were raised with, including myself. The left knows this, so they attempt to take over social media and education, turning it into an echo chamber of leftist ideology, therefor swaying people away from right wing values.

For them the mother will either be a poor single mother so its actually the not present dads fault for everything wrong the mother does. If the parents are together then it's actually still the dads fault and he's the abuser who made everything bad. Obviously these kind of women often never had a father themselves so they just don't understand, they hate because it's something they never had. And then you just have all the rich/middle class girls from a perfect nuclear family who are spoilt and lived without struggle who NEED to be a victim somehow to capitalise on the attention. Never mind they're the most privileged in society.
They forget that. They also want to blame men for "beauty standards", but leave out the whole fact that its not fathers teaching their daughters they need to care about cosmetics or fashion, its their mothers, sisters, aunts, and female peers. Dudes don't really care about those things, we can appreciate them some, but anyone who wants more than a fling knows that those things wash down the drain and aren't important in the least. No, genocide wasn't all men. Look up the history of Madagascar. If women had seats of power more often, I don't think there would have been less death or wars, it is simply that the role women played in politics was usually different, but behind almost every despot are women who usually agree with them. Just look at how many serial killers get married in prison. The common name is "Bonnie and Clyde Syndrome" and a certain percentage of women are attracted to and sexually fetishize violence.
At least in Europe, it was statistically shown that female leaders were slightly more likely to instigate conflict. Just think of a girl trash talking some dude expecting her boyfriend to defend her. Yeah, a Queen does that but instead she uses an army.
In regards to the Bonnie and Clyde syndrome, isn't one happening now in the USA? I forget his name but it's a dude currently on trial who killed girls, and women are swooning for him, women even made a gofundme for him
Egalitarianism when applied to men and women is arguably worse than feminism since it hurts both sides instead of just one. Women's sports for example isn't egalitarian, yet it's necessary to be fair because women aren't equal to men.
@@sticks7857 Egalitarian doesn't intrinsically mean you instantly ignore obvious aspects that aren't equal for specific reasons such as in sports. Just that you are able to treat situations without a specific bias towards one side or the other. @@JohnA... Men and women have different problems, and treating them as though they're equal when they're anything but isn't going to work. It's not that it's "unfair" that a 19 year old man can watch his 19 year old female counterpart making 8k/week. It's that she makes 8k a week while complaining about how hard life is for women compared to men.
If she's making 8K per week, data shows that she's overwhelmingly likely to be receiving, on average, approximately 70%-75% of the 10K+ per week a man is receiving for the exact same job. Ignoring sh-t like that is why this video is nothing but whining that will perpetuate the conversation, not end it. You want it ended? End those kinds of disparities. How many male OF creators are receiving even close to 420K a year?
@@esqueejy There are zero situations in which a woman makes 70% of what a man makes for the "same" job. You're being lied to with statistics to get an emotional reaction out of you. A man can make 70% of what another man makes, because he hasn't demanded a higher wage nor worked for it. In static salary ranges, it is illegal to pay someone based on gender. Feminism since its debut in the Order of the White Feather has always been created to emotionally coerce men into jingoism. Even Declaration of Sentiments was worded so as to avoid addressing the issue of power abuse.
Growing up and watching the societal shift over the last 2 decades or so made it almost impossible for any sane man to be / stay a feminist. Women were behind and struggling in some ways, so we changed literally everything to help and cater to women. That's fine! I'm okay with that, I want everyone to have equal opportunity. Now, men are behind and struggling, and what do women say? "Man up", "that's men's problem", "women are just better". Women have really showed their true colours, and yes I'm confident in that generalisation. Look up the statistics for college attendance and graduates by gender, look up deaths of despair, look up homelessness, look up sentence inequality, job mortality, the list goes on. Men are hanging on by a thread and yet feminism keeps grinding. This may be a unpopular opinion but the women in my generation don't seem loyal or worth trusting to start a long-term relationship with. I am born in the late 90s. I married a woman my age in my early twenties and was cheated on, told i had toxic masculine traits, and physically abused. I left this marriage and stayed single for years with deep trust issues when it came to women my age while i just dated around. I currently am with a woman 12 yrs my senior and yes she still is emotional but there is HUGE difference in generational ideology/standards/upbringing WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT TO CALL IT. Is so massively different and i cannot overstate it more. My point is this. I speak in majorities as nothing is black and white typically. Women in younger generations have been raised wrong and will end up old and alone because men will not stay with them as they demand w.e it is they think they want and in turn ruin the relationship they are in due to total lack of respect for their male counterpart. This will come from poor upbringings and poor social and societal pressures that the world convinced them of in early age masked as independence and equality.
I was also born in late 90s and I never had a relationship to beginn with because of social media and trust issues like you (after your marriage). I'm not alone because I can't get any woman. If I want to, I could. But I just can't trust anyone since social media is a thing. (it started very early for me to not trust anyone) This is ruining my life but also isn't. It's kind of a crazy the time we live in. I'm mentally already preparing to die alone and I'm kind of okay with it. I wanted to get married and have kids someday but not like this, I rather stay alone and die alone than to be in a toxic relationship with trust issues just because I'm afraid to die alone (yes, people really are in a relationship because they don't want to die alone, I have seen examples in real life) I think the key for GenZ Men is to look for GenY woman (or maybe not, what do I know) Sorry for my English, I'm not native speaking English

What are you talking about? Feminism in its earliest politically effective forms stretched across liberal and conservative groups. The first wave feminists fought for the vote and for women to be able to own their own property and be protected in the event their husband or father died rather than having to rely on whichever man in their family got “their” inheritance. Second wave wasn’t even “hyper leftist” though there was a lot more overlap because pretty much every social movement was pretty leftist. That said there were LOTS of anti feminists on the far left. So on the one hand, there’s the good stuff, but on the other hand, it’s not hard for children to simultaneously get the message that they should put their needs last, not take care of themselves, put themselves in harms way, etc, especially if that sort of thing is further encouraged by society.

Although it doesn't talk about American values that much, i think a good look into how superman's ideals can be manipulated by societal influence is the the Superman: Red Sun series/movie where he landed in soviet russia instead of america. He's almost the same person at his core, wanting to help others and keep the peace, but the different cultural background leads him to learn values that are completely opposed to the ones of the main universe superman. What i think is at the core of the question of whether or not he is a good role model is the interpretation of what “Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow” means to different people. In a culture that's very patriotic, it could mean putting others before yourself, while others, like soviet Russia, would think it means to have a strong leader willing to do anything to ensure the survival and success of their own country at any cost. Again, we see the same thing of men weighing the blame for their own negative actions on men and letting women off lightly. Well, that's at least one step closer. To find the truth, you don't add up the two opposing sides and divide by 2.
"I think this is because of the lack of family structure and the lack of respectable father figures in media and in people's personal lives." Feminism individually came for each of these things one after the other(one of their first targets was the nuclear family) until we're at a point where young men who have father figures have to consider themselves lucky.
I think as a 19 yo gen z guy i did pretty good with little to no father. My badass mom taught me most of everything. Manners, social skills, standing up for myself ( although i get stressed quickly ) and how to respect people of they respect me )
I just wish people could have conversations in good faith with the goal of improving each other's lives. Back in 2017 when hurricane Maria destroyed half of Puerto Rico we all helped each other out, nobody was creating divides based on boxes and prejudices, some people even breaking into restricted areas to "steal" supplies that the government was hoarding for political leverage and passing them out to rural towns that were almost completely cut off due to structural damage and bad terrain. My two brothers and I personally went house to house helping who we could to prepare for the incoming hurricane and after we helped cleared debris from our community cause we had a lot of elderly neighbors, not once did anyone there think of themselves as separate from the community or have an Us VS Them mentality. I feel like people who create these issues don't seem to understand that at the end of the day people are more alike than they think but nobody ever wants to give the other the benefit of the doubt, they'd rather make each individual person that stands "against" them the epitome of all that they hate than think that most people just want to be happy and don't mind other people being happy. It's honestly sad because I feel as human beings we are better than this, but I also know that not everybody thinks like this and some of these people are just very vocal and chronically online. “If you look for the light, you can often find it.But if you look for the dark that is all you will ever see.” - Iroh
Guys, this shit happens with every major shift in progress and politics. The pendulum swings one direction until it goes too far and then swings back the other direction until it goes too far again. But in the end real positive progress that benefits everyone does remain.
Something interesting to me about this is I recently tried to bring some awareness for men's health since its Men's Health Awareness month on the WoW forums, and that thread was taken down within a few hours because advocating for men is hate speech, antagonistic, and offensive. Meanwhile, a post that leaned very heavily into racism from both sides of the fence was allowed to stay up for three or four times as long. I guess the forums think men are worse than racism.
Many people don't understand feminism. It started 200 years ago I suggest everyone reads "Occult Feminism" by Rachel Wilson, it follows the whole history of it

As cruel as that answer might seem, it’s completely true, no one in the world owes you jack.

As a college student trying to be a waiter cause it paidwell. They hired attractive girls instead even tho I was busboy there (happened in 2 restaurants)
As an adult, my job in construction you need 4-5 years experience to apply to big companies but woman gets instantly hired as soon as they get the diploma
So yeah I grew sceptic about the purpose of feminism nowadays.

Lets not forget that if the worst comes to pass everyone will expect the women and children to flee west and all men to grab a rifle and march east.
They haven't changed that yet? I thought most of us in the Nordic were pretty similar there? in Norway in 2010 they made it so gender didn't matter, everyone has to show up now for that first meeting at least.
it's never going to be "good enough" for some people, they'll just keep moving the goal posts.
@@TitusAndromadonIt isn't specific to the left. Lol

No True Scotsman fallacy basically
Tbh it’s more of a situation where two things are happening:
- echo chamber effect that is the internet, where you tend to surround yourself with confirmation bias
Along with:
- the Lefts propensity for cancelling itself having different viewpoints
The patriarchy concept is widely understood by normal people to be problematic for everyone in that type of structure.
Men were allowed to vote because they were the only onse conssidered to make rational decisions.
I'm keeping that somewhere in the back of my mind

This means that they don't even think twice about how insane the left has gotten over the last 2 decades, and instead are terrified and flabbergasted by even the slightest push in the other direction.
A visualization of how different philosophical views see things:
1) Progressive worldview can be seen as driving on a collapsing bridge and staying ahead of the crumbling behind you, meaning any slowdown or reversal in thier mind would be catastrophy.
It's a balancing act.
it's funny how we use that word "liberal" yet those liberals want the most rules and structure the world to their ideals in a forceful way and anybody who disagrees is a bigot.

people often rebel and do the opposite of their parents. millenials being hyper liberal are pushing their kids towards conservatism.

There is a word for it. Egalitarian, meaning you actually want equality without picking one side's issues over the other.

As in both men as women have problems, we don't need to just worry about one side or the other as they can both be worked on. That is an exceptionally simple minded view of the idea.
@@JohnA... Men and women have different problems, and treating them as though they're equal when they're anything but isn't going to work.
(it started very early for me to not trust anyone)
This is ruining my life but also isn't. It's kind of a crazy the time we live in. I'm mentally already preparing to die alone and I'm kind of okay with it. I wanted to get married and have kids someday but not like this, I rather stay alone and die alone than to be in a toxic relationship with trust issues just because I'm afraid to die alone (yes, people really are in a relationship because they don't want to die alone, I have seen examples in real life)
I think the key for GenZ Men is to look for GenY woman (or maybe not, what do I know)
Sorry for my English, I'm not native speaking English
is not unpopular bro... every man in 2024 that is still single or not knows this in their heart... you just roll the dice, there is no telling if a woman is going to be the love of your life or destroy it just because one day she saw on instagram that you are not giving her celeb life style xD
@@x360mason Yea i have heard similar things from friends and colleagues. The choice to die alone is becoming more appealing than just the RISK associated with committing to women in this social media filled generation I.E the younger ones. All i will say is this to that point. There is loving yourself where your fine being alone... Then there is loneliness they are two different things brother. I say keep a open mind trust your instincts and see what comes. I am more happy than i have ever been and it was finding that woman that makes me feel like I'm important to her that did it. Yes she could leave me and turn out not to be loyal as a lot of women can do. But i would never say she was abusive , toxic, cheater. IT would be just because we didn't work as people.
Social media is to blame as well. Specifically, tik tok. Women literally get brainwashed by the shit they watch on that platform.

The insulting of women is just that, insulting, but at least from what ive seen, the ownness is always back on the men, and not to make demands of the chicks.
Yet again, pretending that bad things happen to both sides equally.
Its... simply... NOT... true.
Every fucking time someone even attempts to address men's issues or men in general almost exclusively, they still for some reason have to pay lip service to women.
It looks pathetic.
It is pathetic
And then saying as many men say women are the problem as women do. NO! NOWHERE close! 🤦🏾♂️

Good God. Sometimes Asmon reminds me that not everyone follows politics. Feminism STARTED as a progressive/hyper leftist idea with no stated "end goal" to achieve. It didn't need to be "infected". The parasitism was baked in from the start.
The hippy movement, who were avowedly leftie anti establishment, tolerated and even celebrated violence and rape against women.
@@fifab82 Feminism has it's roots within communism. This is well known by anyone who studies history. A core tennant of communist beliefs is the destruction of the nuclear family. Modern women are rejecting marriage and giving birth. Coincidence? I think not...

I actually think superman is a good role model personality wise. He's genuinely a stand up guy who has faith in humanities' capability to do good and doesn't feel superior for having superpowers. He helps those who need it by using his strength as a protective force rather than one meant to do harm and talks things out before getting physical if its at all possible.
I grew up looking up to Christopher Reeve as superman, that's who I admired. I had a dad and two older brothers, couldn't look up to those narcs.
He's a good role model, which is why it's funny that his existence can still be considered damaging for kids
@@Willy_Warmer I don't think Ive heard that before and i dont see how anyone could see him that way. Unless they are referring to man of steel or some other superman iteration that doesn't get what the character is about. But that's only because they give the wrong impression of the character.
@@TimeyWimey. nah it’s not that. You encourage kids to look up to Superman as someone who you should want to be, which is good, because Superman is a selfless hero with good morals. However, at the same time, he also doesn’t really care for himself. He puts himself in harms way constantly, puts others needs before his own, doesn’t ever take the time to examine his mental health (despite the amount of shit he’d be dealing with realistically), and both feels and is essentially told in a lot of cases that he’s basically obligated to do all that despite the fact that he’s not. So on the one hand, there’s the good stuff, but on the other hand, it’s not hard for children to simultaneously get the message that they should put their needs last, not take care of themselves, put themselves in harms way, etc, especially if that sort of thing is further encouraged by society.
@@Willy_Warmer I see what you mean, and what you are saying helps to make him a more interesting character than what people see on the surface. I believe some authors have delved into that aspect of how he represents America's societal expectations, albeit not very often. Most get stuck at him being stronger than 99% of the dc roster.
Its a concept that is basically whatever you make of it and can have good and or bad implications depending on what you think they mean.

When you say the feminist movement was co-opted, if you mean that it was co-opted back when third-wave feminism began to take over decades ago, then you’re correct. If you’re trying to make some claim that it was co-opted recently, then you are absolutely wrong.

If you disagree with the explanations of third-wave feminism that are online, you should make it into an argument. Just calling it bad whilst also disagreeing on what it is, only serves to muddy the waters.
Just a reminder in the second wave, the movement stated being in a family is oppression and that the family needs to be abolished, that chicks should just date each other as form of political blackmail and because of how awful men are.
