I can't thank the Yankees organization enough for presenting this team like this. I'm reliving my best memories. My dad and I watched the yankees religiously. I was 16, a high school baseball player, pretending to be my favorite Yankees. He had Mantle growing up. I had Jeter. Now my daughter has Judge. The Yankees is what bonds my family. It's more than just baseball. It's life. Thank you for all the great memories. That's what life is about.
Nice to hear the word "bonds" used in a positive light for MLB! I grew up on the mid 70s Yankees, the 78 team will always bring tears to my eyes, even as I type this I get choked up.
@willmack5909 I know how you feel! I got choked up multiple times while watching this. I now see why my dad loved watching Old Timers Day. It's fun to watch the players that gave us all of those fun memories. Cheers to you my friend.
As a Yankee fan that no longer lives in the NY tri-state area, I want to thank you so much for streaming this. It was killing me yesterday that I couldn’t watch Old Timers Day, especially with the return of DJ.
I went to my first Yankee game at the ripe old age of 12 in 1969, got to say Mickey play in person albeit as an old timer in the 3 inning game before the real one, it was bleeping Awesome. The greatest franchise in history!!!!!
As a Cleveland Indians fan you have to give respect to the Yankees and there storied history. Of all these Yankee old timers I did not see Mr October? Reggie Jackson one of the most feared Yankees legends. Very cool that the organization does this!
Yankees fan since I was 10, and the ‘98 team is easily my all-time favorite. I loved all 25 of them. We had a different hero (or pair of heroes) each game; the crucial hit could’ve come from anybody, including a deep bench of capable hitters like Strawberry, Raines, Spencer, even Homer Bush or Luis Sojo.
These tributes are beautiful. All of these players touched us in some way growing up. I grew up in the shadows of Yankee stadium but admire the Mets. I'm an '80s boy. But the '90s sure are memorable. I liked seeing Tim Raines also. I believe he played from the late '70s to early 2000s. Great to see Andy Pettite too! Really just everyone. Thanks for the upload!
There was just something special about the 96-98 Yanks and 98' Yanks in general. You couldn't beat them. No homo. When I heard the Derek Jeter chants, i got watery eyes and emotional. Damn that brought back childhood memories.
Thank you for posting the 75th New York Yankees old timers day ceremonies. I don't have the channel so this is the perfect opportunity to view this on here. Plus to honor the 25th anniversary of the 1998 World Series championship that the Yankees won a record overall of 125 games that magical season...JP
I want thank you for streaming and sharing this. I had to be away during the Old Timers Day. I set it up to be taped, but something went wrong. Again thanks for bringing this to us.👍
When are they going to bring back Girardi for old timers I know it’s gonna take time as it did for Torres but Boone is only an old timer cause he’s the manager Girardi was apart of 3 World Series as a player and was starting catcher for most of those runs and was the manager of a World Series team put some respect on his name
Where’s Reggie Jackson…. I remember watching (Ground Round in White Plains,NY) Reggie hitting 3 HOME RUNS in the ‘77 World Series. I went crazy… Drinks on me. Haha. I had no money. Good memories.
What a classy thing to do. This is what makes baseball great. Love all the lady’s there, celebrating their partners. 😊 this should be before every game.
What an embarrassment that NYY has decided to no longer play the OT game. All the 90s players are still in decent shape. I want to see Mariano and Pettitte pitch to Jeter and Bernie. They're a bunch of primadonnas for not playing.
Michael Kay messed up the Derick Jeter introduction by not saying Derrick's name, and just called him the captain... Because of that, Derick didn't know when to enter, and the fans didn't know when to cheer...
I remember when these games were free. What a mess they made out baseball. Bring back the twi-night double headers. Bring back the free games. Bring back the fundamentals of the game. Let pitchers pitch 9 innings. Let relievers pitch 2+ innings. Stop going for the HR's all the time. Stop bring in the fences in. Stop with the commercials every break. THESE ARE SOME THE REASON ATTENDANCE HAS BEEN DOWN FOR THE LAST 16 YEARS.
David Wells showed hatred toward Nike and Bud Light because he says they're "too woke". Just another example of someone hating somebody that looks different than him. He's likely another Trumper... theathletic.com/4847490/2023/09/09/yankees-david-wells-nike-mlb-rant/
Hmm what was up with Paul not only not taking his cap off during the remembrance part of the ceremony but also talking during it? Paul, loved you as a player big time, but big time violation there.
geez you think there would be moore people there for this festive occasion but nope. bet you anything if the yankees were in first place that place would be packed but nope
Yeah it looks like they hasd about 20000 people there - PRETTY SAD !! That's because all the REAL GREATS ARE DEAD like Berra, Ford , Joe D, Mantle etc. Back in the 70's and 80's Oldtimers Day WAS REALLY SPECIAL with all those guys there !!
I need the old timers game back I miss it
As do I
Agreed
Typical of Hal to eliminate it

Hi 🎱
I went to my first Yankee game at the ripe old age of 12 in 1969, got to say Mickey play in person albeit as an old timer in the 3 inning game before the real one, it was bleeping Awesome. The greatest franchise in history!!!!!
As i watch this i’m in tears because i miss that era, i wish the current Steinbrenner would be more like his dad!
Thank you so much for sharing this. Very special day.
It's hard not watching the ceremonies being out of the NYC market. So, thank you for sharing.
Back wen the city was worth visiting n the Yankees were worth watching!
Shuttttttttupppppp
The ultimate in Yankees nostalgia! Awesome day!
As a Cleveland Indians fan you have to give respect to the Yankees and there storied history.
Of all these Yankee old timers I did not see Mr October? Reggie Jackson one of the most feared Yankees legends.
Very cool that the organization does this!
Yankees changed traditions every old time game they get out and play on the field

One day, my captain, Donnie Baseball, will return as a Yankee. #23
Matsui is still a monster.

Thanks for posting this. This is the team i grew up watching. Love these guys
Godzilla Matsui is the Japanese who looks best in a Yankees uniform.
There was just something special about the 96-98 Yanks and 98' Yanks in general. You couldn't beat them.
No homo. When I heard the Derek Jeter chants, i got watery eyes and emotional. Damn that brought back childhood memories.
The Captain is in the right for saying that. 2 of his 5 World Series titles were against the Atlanta Braves franchise. If you know you know.
You can look it up.
I absolutely love the look and smile on Joan Ford's face when Derek Jeter approaches her with a hug. Just pure joy and simply sublime.
Being a 13 yr old young baseball player, and Yankee fan at this time (1998) can’t be matched
Leave it to Waldman to make things awkward 😂😂😂😂
Yeah they could have left her out!
She needs to be put on an ice floe along with Sterling.

Thank you so much ⚾️ Sadly Hulu doesn't carry the YES network anymore! Really great to see everyone again... Thank you ⚾️💗⚾️
thank you so much for sharing. I no longer live in the NY market.
El duque!!!!!!
Where was Chuck Knoblock?
I want thank you for streaming and sharing this. I had to be away during the Old Timers Day. I set it up to be taped, but something went wrong. Again thanks for bringing this to us.👍
thanks for this

Man how much does Chuck Knoblauch look like Rob Dyrdek lol
Where’s Reggie Jackson…. I remember watching (Ground Round in White Plains,NY) Reggie hitting 3 HOME RUNS in the ‘77 World Series. I went crazy… Drinks on me. Haha. I had no money. Good memories.
Walks out on the field: Hey Jill, you're fired.
**Lou Gehrig was unanimously elected into the hall. Mariano Rivera was not the first**
Will you be showing the 2024 old timers game too? I don't currently get yes network
What a classy thing to do. This is what makes baseball great. Love all the lady’s there, celebrating their partners. 😊 this should be before every game.
Wtf
Straw and Cone get the both of best worlds.
Matsui 18:50
Remember as a kid that place would be sold out for old timers day.
An old-timers team would've been more interesting & maybe more competitive than what they trotted out this year.....
No Reggie?
No Roger Clemens is a crime
wait so do they no longer play a game on old timers day?
My question too
It sure looks it at this point. I don’t think they’ve played the old timers game since 2019.
@@SethW398cause of covid, they need to bring it back though
@@slapshot68I don’t think Covid is a factor any more. I just think too many of the Old Timers are just too …well, old, now.
They dont play a game anymore ? Thats sooo dumb wtf
The only thing good about this year. Right the ship next year Yanks let's go.
What an embarrassment that NYY has decided to no longer play the OT game. All the 90s players are still in decent shape. I want to see Mariano and Pettitte pitch to Jeter and Bernie. They're a bunch of primadonnas for not playing.
Needs to be renamed to legends day not old timers day
Michael Kay messed up the Derick Jeter introduction by not saying Derrick's name, and just called him the captain... Because of that, Derick didn't know when to enter, and the fans didn't know when to cheer...
You can barely hear it but the reason Michael didn’t say Derek’s name was due to Bob Sheppards voice announced it
Jeter wanted Bob Sheppard to announce it

great season! hopefully they will finish below .500 ....time to clean house!
Wonder why David wells has the Nike logo covered up?

Because he is a giant wingnut cry baby. Great athlete, but a total headcase.
@@sdot5389head cases are cutting their weiners off and then calling themselves women
Did they play a game? Seems not because their uniform shirts are over their private clothes.
No, they don't do that anymore.
TOO BAD THERE WASN'T ANYBODY IN THE BALL PARK.
The players should at least be 50 years old.
Hmm what was up with Paul not only not taking his cap off during the remembrance part of the ceremony but also talking during it? Paul, loved you as a player big time, but big time violation there.
God we miss Bob Sheppard. The announcer they have now is the all time worst!
"The all time worst" in what way? Paul Olden is a different person and just fine.
None of the players on the 2023 team are even in the same class as any of these guys and never will be including the money grab judge
Nah, Judge plays with a passion, he isn’t a selfish me 1st player
Why do they have to get old, wish they were playing this year so we could have a winning team again!!!!!
Wish Giuliani and Pataki were in charge again so we can get a great city again
geez you think there would be moore people there
for this festive occasion but nope.
bet you anything if the yankees were in first place that place would be packed
but nope
Not to mention the city itself is a complete unsafe mess, I miss the Giuliani-Pataki days!
Maybe if the tickets didn’t price out the blue collar fans you’d have more people attend
Someone's not from ny. You don't know how exoensive it is to buy a ticket. Then the price of everything afrer that
These are old timers?…
