See what his dad said "I'm not going to let him win, you have to work hard at things". That's what young kids are missing today. Success is through hard work and accepting defeat when it comes. No participation trophies. You have to work to be successful
Jeter wasn't just a great Yankee, but a role model for many people. I watched him as a young kid and he retired when I was in my 20s. The way he didn't showboat or run his mouth, or ever really say anything controversial were the things that many kids emulated as they got older. I have no problem with people who know their talent and boast, but when you win 5 rings and are responsible for some of the most memorable Yankee moments, and you do it the right way without coming off arrogant, it really resonates with people. I think after his Mr. November home run, he said "if we don't win tomorrow then tonight didn't matter" just seconds after cross home plate. Just prefect.
Next to Don Mattingly Derek Jeter is my fav Yankee he was the reason I played Shortstop in High School I just wanted to try it cause I was a pitcher and outfield
I think that’s fitting that Jeter, always a “team” player, never won an MVP. Although, one could really make a case for his 2006 season being MVP worthy
He got screwed out of an MVP in 2006. He probably could’ve won it in 09 as well. But some of his best seasons were also some of Pujols’, Ichiro’s, and Cabrera’s best seasons. Tough competition in those days.
One thing I have in common with Derek Jeter I have family in New Jersey. My parents were born and raised in New Jersey. My parents moved to Long Island in 1989. I was born four years later after they moved to Long Island. I grew up going to new jersey as a kid to see my grandparents. New Jersey was like a second home to me. My grandfather was a huge Yankee fan he use to tell me stories about Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Jackson, and Mattingly.
I'm no yanks fan. But I am a Jeter fan. I remember his rookie start until his retirement. He was a class act. For the big stage he always kept his head level and grounded to his game. You could tell he.didnt have the big ego some players seem to have being in that position. His stance and batting style was incredibly effective at always making contact and got him lots of hits
Saw him play in 2010 at Yankee Stadium, took Rachel and Alex to get a bobble head at Waterfront park and saw him play! The captain! We eat at the restaurant he goes to in Tampa Boca Kitchen, saw him at Steinbrenner Field and wore number 2 in CYO basketball
My all time favorite Yankee He’s the reason I love baseball But he’s not even the best Yankee of all time. One of the best. But definitely not the best. He’s not even close to being the best shortstop let alone the best baseball player. Guys like Ozzie Smith Omar Vizquel and Cal Ripken were 10x better than he was
Well I grew up in Atlanta. While I love the Braves, I hate the Falcons. They sucked every year and I never understood why they still liked them. We don't have to like the teams in the cities our parents decided to bust a nut in
Thanks for this nice video 🙏🏻 but I would like to see another one because this one had some technical issues. The ending was not good and I have seen other better.
This needs much better editing and how could you possibly cut out the very last of his career? I feel like I wasted a whole hour and 12 minutes watching this while it was poorly edited and not seeing the very end.
I remember Joe Torre. 3 b. Cards way back. I didnt know he caught for other teams. I wasnt to much on national league as a kid. Living in american league and red sox country. But I do remember Joe well on 3rd very well bk in the 70s.
I remember watching Derek Jeter get his 3000 hit with my dad. My dad predicted home run and I'm like no he'll just a get a base hit. When he hit I'm like my dad was right.
"You can't root for the team your dad roots for you're younger," says Jeter. You can't? I was a kid once. I don't think I knew anybody who chooses to not like the team his or her dad rooted for. What a stupid statement.
See what his dad said "I'm not going to let him win, you have to work hard at things". That's what young kids are missing today. Success is through hard work and accepting defeat when it comes. No participation trophies. You have to work to be successful
It's already begun for me. I've had my ups and downs. I've succeeded and failed at things in life so far.
For the last time no one cares about Soccer MANCHESTER UNITED
If you are going to say that you go have a channel of your own
Absolutely!
If that was true then every janitor in america would be a billionaire, guarantee they work harder than almost every CEO lol
Thanks for stopping it before it was over bro! And thanks to Michael J. Fox for editing! FANTASTIC!!!

As a red Sox. Fan great battles I have nothing but respect for jeter just a class act. Just the best
Next to Don Mattingly Derek Jeter is my fav Yankee he was the reason I played Shortstop in High School I just wanted to try it cause I was a pitcher and outfield
Even if you hate the Yankees, ya gotta love Derek Jeter. 2nd to none baby!
Kobe and Jeter had a very similar career is mind blowing
I still cannot believe that he never won an MVP award. He was definitely the MVP of the Yankees for 20 years.

@MANCHESTER UNITED No one Asked Bud! screw soccer

He got robbed twice by the Yankee bias
@M United States is the only place in Earth where Football is played with the hands and called "soccer"
Very soon we will be looking Jeter like Yogi, Whitey, Martin & Mantle.
DJ's Bob Shepard voice is GOLD! He's a winner.
Derek Jeter is a baseball legend

Idk how some people call Jeet overrated.
Defensively overrated that’s how
@jc3productions362 yeah, in the league 20 years and 13 all star games. Definitely avg.
He played for the team not Derek Jeter
Charlie Win! That's all he wanted to do.
The greatest baseball player in major league baseball history.
i agree the GOAT
He's. My fave player but the best is babe ruth guys
My all time favorite Yankee
He’s the reason I love baseball

The Captain
Une biographie PARFAIT
The face of the last great Yankee dynasty, and lets face it only the Yankees build baseball dynasties.
You are my favorite player
Great player
57 of 61 games had a hit. That's insane.
I didnt understand why he didnt want to be a fan of the team his dad likes
Well I grew up in Atlanta. While I love the Braves, I hate the Falcons. They sucked every year and I never understood why they still liked them.
We don't have to like the teams in the cities our parents decided to bust a nut in
LE MEILLEUR🙏🙏
He’s never been arrogant, or at least it really doesn’t seem like it
Only yankee Red Sox fans loved

Roger Maris incarnated...

Agree with dad. They would not like if they knew I let them win.
Could someone out there explain the difference between upload and download?
#JeterIsTheGoat
Muy buen reportaje x que no en español

Good old Don Zimmer. Ex red sox 3 b coach.
I remember Joe Torre. 3 b. Cards way back. I didnt know he caught for other teams. I wasnt to much on national league as a kid. Living in american league and red sox country. But I do remember Joe well on 3rd very well bk in the 70s.
Those adds are just pissing people off and sound is so delayed compared to images.
Gehrig WILL ALWAYS BE THE CAPTAIN!
What’s the song called when Derek Jeter flys into the stands
Oops I did it again- by brittney Spears.
Is it true that Joe Gerardi threatened to break Jeter's legs?
I remember watching Derek Jeter get his 3000 hit with my dad. My dad predicted home run and I'm like no he'll just a get a base hit. When he hit I'm like my dad was right.
Dude, the person making this needs to learn how to pause for commercials....
I stopped watching the yanks and baseball in general after he retired
When he beat Gehrig, he beat the THE Captain!
Terrible Video. Ads in and out, all over the Damn place. Really hard to watch.

I disagree. I have never liked the same teams as my father. Shows individuality
I wish he was a met
