Listening to this man since I was 5 in my parents car to hearing him driving home from work decades later. Sad he's retiring but happy for all the entertainment he gave me. Thank you John!!
90% of these calls are just dumb
@@skinnie2838it doesn’t matter millions grew up hearing him as the voice of the Yankees.
@@jackcaldwell3493 No one cares
No one cares about you
Skinnie no one cares about u
It's an a-bomb for a-rod.. best call from the legendary John sterling. He is the greatest of all time. He retired on his own terms and is the classiest guy you can meet. God bless you John for 35 terrific years. No one will ever be better
Idk man, Vin Scully..
@@cptsparklfingerz9210 I agree & we heard that call so many times.
Tom Hamilton up there too

Cleveland fan?
@@busterb11702 yes, so I guess I’m a bit biased, but he recognized as one even outside of Cleveland. Even though there a decent amount who find him annoying because thinks he’s just yelling all the time.
Love John Sterling🎙after 35 years will always be the voice of the Yankees. I listened to him since he started in 1989 with Jay Johnston on WABC radio in NY. I also want to give a beloved retirement good bye to another long time NY news anchor Dana Tyler who started in 1990 on WCBS news just retired after 34 years. Two of my all time favorites, I loved them.
90% of these calls are just dumb
The Tino and Brosius calls near the start of the video always give me chills. I sure will miss Sterling calling every game - been listening to him since I got into baseball and the Yankees as a kid in the mid-'90s.
I’m a Cubs fan so I’ve been blessed with a great radio broadcaster in Pat Hughes, I’ve always enjoyed hearing Sterling’s calls as well. Baseball has had some legendary voices man!
A-rod is another level
No doubt!!
We gonna miss you John Sterling. "The voice of the Yankees". God bless you and enjoy your retirement with your family. You the man.
I was a teenager listening to John Sterling, He is basically the only guy I've listened to during my lifetime. He will surely be missed. Glad we can watch memories on RUclips. A lot of great calls.
This video could not have been made better! It started with his very first personalized home run call, and ended with his last! You made this video to perfection, Major League Baseball!
the best thing about XM satellite radio was I got to listen to Yankee games in California. not that I was a Yankee fan but I was a John Sterling fan. he was my 2nd favorite baseball announcer behind Vin Scully
An A-Bomb from A-Rod 😂 best call ever !!
This video has more Commercials than a Actual Yankees Game
You will be missed. It was an honor and a great privilege to be able to listen to your voice every game. Best team in the world and best announcer in the world. You made every home run more memorable! Thanks John!!
This man was a part of so many childhoods. The energy let you know he was one of us. A fan first and foremost. There will not be another like John Sterling. Thank you and god bless.
Giancarlo Stanton. That's why he was the last one. Stantonion blast. Nosi quo con Palo. By far the best home run call. Facts.😂😂😂.
Thank you so much for including his calls in your game recaps these last few years.
My favorite radio broadcaster of all time.
Of every call I've heard since I was 19. '89 when he started w Kay...my favorite call is
"The Sun will come out...Tanaka" fkn brilliant. Enjoy retirement..well we'll deserved.
Thank Mr. Sterling you Sir have long ago earned your place in Yankees fans hearts. Your contributions to not only the greatest sports organization in the world but to the greatest sport and our nation's pastime. Your name will be forever part of the Pinstripes history with the same esteem of the late Bob Shepherd and Mel Allen
Classic New York Yankees
John Sterling deserves to be in the hall of fame if they induct announcers.
No
Yes
“The Bamtino” has always been my favorite Sterling call!
I could listen to this all day. That is not an exaggeration.
I was surprised he didn’t finish the season.
I'll never forget 25-30 years ago sitting in the back of my dad's car listening to 1430 while my mom was in the E.R. or one of her many DR visits. We would listen to the Yankees and he would teach me about Baseball. John Singleton's voice always takes me back to those very rare happy childhood memories. I'm glad John is around to see how much he means to people. A lot don't get this outpouring of support before death.
I became aware of Mr. Sterling’s play-by-plays during the 1996 playoffs. And he was just as entertaining back then reminiscent of the Mel Allen/Bill White/Phil Rizzuto chemistries. He will be sorely missed.
I say BERNIE GOES BOOM, BERN BABY BERN & THE GRANDY MAN are my favorites 😊
End of an era 😢
Those 2017 balls were wild
“Hayes - MAKES THE CATCH! BALLGAME OVER! WORLD SERIES OVER! YANKEES WIN! THEEEEEEEEE! YANKEES! WIN!”
By far his best call.
Damn I’m getting old man
One of my favorite calls that it’s not specific for any players…when any 2 player hit HR consecutively, Sterling goes: 😂👉🏼 5:10 THEY GO BACK TO BACK AND BELLY TO BELLY !!
End of an era 😢 this man was the voice of my childhood ❤
How do you not have Sterling's call of Bernie's walk-off against Randy Meyers in game 1 of the 96 ALCS???????? His best call ever, by far.
My personal fave was always Jorgie juiced one. But Bern baby Bern and the Bam Tino are also awesome.
Robbie Cano and Aaron Judge
And like a good Gleyber, Torres is there
This is great ! I miss these days
I’m not in New York at all, on the other side in California, but, my fav saying of his, all rise, here comes the judge! case closed!
God Bless John Sterling…We all will miss him in the booth !!
ALL OF THEM ARE MY FAVORITE... THANK YOU, MR. STERLING.. YANKEE GAMES ON THE RADIO WILL NEVER EVER BE THE, SAME.. I LOVE YOU..🙏
Scott Brosius. Unbelievable. All time clutch postseason.
They were all iconic you will be missed John Sterling enjoy your retirement sor
Love this. For the couple nuts on ESPN and radio talk shows that make fun of Sterling (well, when you are an echo chamber and whatnot...) this is so fun. Best sport for originality
Phils fan here. Enjoy retirement John!
Cant believe we didnt win in 2017. & Manfred covered for them.
You got beat by a better team. And would continue to get beat by them for half a decade. Cry more.
@@skinnie2838 but what is so funny is that team is now in last place and sucking so how about you start crying now
@@youngtripp5184 Im a Ranger fan. Shut up nerd.
Man we lost because of ourselves. We had a 3-2 lead, and just could not hit in 6 and 7
@@nc_vince3934 we lost every game in houston…do you not realize why cmon dude
The GOAT
An A Bomb by A Rod and Thrilla by Godzilla are underrated. Bern Baby Bern is the OG though
Sterling and that shaking camera.
As A Cubs Fan Thank You John Sterling And I Wish You The Best In Your Retirement
I always listened to him every game and would mute the TV and listen to him and Susan. Will miss him
I always loved the Bobby Abreu one
that postseason for Ibanez tho......
needed more arod calls. He had tons of huge hrs as a yankee. He was the greatest yankee hitter of the past 50 years. Soto 2nd, mattingly 3rd
It’s high it’s far…..it’s a ground out….thats him
“He’s the ultimate warrior” would hav ben a great HR call for Paul O’Neill, Don’t kno any for Scott Brosius
Downtown goes Frazier was my favorite
Grew up with this guy. Yankees Win Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win
All curtain calls deserved but one is i cant understand whats the meaning to gian carlo stanton curtain call
may have been his first hr at yankee stadium as a yankee
The YANKEES WIN, THEEEEE YAAANKEESS WINNNN ! Which ever, that’s his best call of all time
Overall, a great video which includes the most notable Yankees' hitters of the past 30 years, but there's one very big omission: No Sterling call of any HR by Paul O'Neill?!? Nine seasons worth of options.
Some of my favorite calls include
DIDI GREGORIUS MAKES YANKEE FANS EUPHORIUS!!
THE GRANDYMAN CAN, THE GRANDYMAN CAN!!!
BERN BABY BERN!!!
The most thrilling calls on 330ft homeruns in the history of baseball.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ll see him in Cooperstown
Stanton
Juan
My fav is BERNIE GO BOOM!💥
I love John but I almost busted my ___ over a false Stanton home run call in the ninth no less. It was a west coast game and I was half asleep, jumped up out of my bed and damn near killed myself over a warning track "home run".
27 up 27 down baseball immortality for david wells
Yankees win baaaaaaaaah yankees win
1:13 not sure why the pitcher is surprised here. You threw a fastball right down Broadway, what did you think was going to happen? I mean that's literally right down the middle.
THE GIAMBINO and BERN BABY BERN!
Young Kim
Where's Stanton?
At the very end 21:38
@@59cond12 Oh it's the last lol. Thanks!
96 ALCS gm 1 was the best and MLB missed plus a ton of others from the 90s when he was in prime ....bad job
Gio Urshela ?
I would have traded 96 and 99 for 2001.
Naa. 96 is too iconic
Should've ended this video with DJ3K.
The best Call was clearly
"It is High, it is Far, it is Caught by...
i need sterling calls of
the 2004 alcs
on a real note… as a sox fan, this guy was great. hope he has a great retirement
I'm certainly in the minority here, but man.. I was not a fan of John Sterling. I've been watching the Yankees my whole life and hearing John and his dorky calls and general lack of baseball knowledge. I don't understand how you can watch baseball so often and for so long and still not really _get_ baseball.
So obnoxious--we would turn the sound down!! Mase himself bigger than the game
First🎉🎉🎉
Oh good maybe the Yankees will finally have a good play by play now
None I was never a fan ! Sorry
90% of these calls are just dumb
The Astros are the Yankees Daddy!!!!!!! Hahaha!!!!!! Cry more!!!!!!!
Yankees just swept the Astros. You seem the be the one who's crying. A bit obnoxiously aswell.
Guys This is not about the Astros and the Yankees it’s about John Sterling
@@Trailblazer162Imagine getting swept in the ALCS.
@@Red-Bull-Insiderhe does this to every Yankees vid MLB puts out. He just wants attention
@@joewell2709 Yeah I’m not surprised by that
