Joe Torre equals 100% class. The greatest manager of my lifetime. And manager of the greatest team in my lifetime the 1998 New York Yankees who won including playoffs 125 games and lost only 50. Probably will never happen again.

53:29--"As I say, anyone who tells you that you're on the back 9 or starting to get to the end at 55-years old, don't believe them, because that started to be the beginning of the best part of my professional life."--What an inspiring comment! I'm 50-yrs and would like to upgrade a few things in my own life. No wonder why he had so much managing success with those last two teams he helmed. Millionaire players could trust this dude!

I was born a Yankees fan - even though they weren’t particularly good for the early part of the 70’s when I started watching. Joe is by far my favorite manager. What a humble, authentic guy. You’d never know how many all-star games he made or that he won the freaking MVP - as a player! C’mon, how many people do that? He had an elegance and grace that I’ve never seen before or since - Bruce Bocce might be close. It also shows that no matter what you have achieved the ghosts of your past constantly haunt you and need to be overcome. Love this guy and love this show.

I started in 92 as a Yankee fan. Scott Sanderson was the ace and Matt Nokes was the catcher. Donnie baseball was the only star with Roberto Kelly in Right. Bernie Williams was a rookie and Mike Gallego was at short with Pat Kelly at second. I was there when Jim Abbott threw the no hitter and it was amazing but seeing as a teenager what they did in the late 90’s will stay with me forever. Joe Torre always portrayed that dad who you knew no matter what as long as your safe it’s all good. He had a quiet confidence about him. God bless him and his family
