Does the LS3 suffer from the revised (driver side) valve cover baffling issue..? I have a 2010 Chevy Camaro with a mid 2009 production date, so it probably has the pre-revised (driver’s side) valve cover if anything. My question though, is if the (older) LS3 (non-AFM/DOD) requires this? The manual/non-AFM/DOD LS3 engines don’t have the PCV routing that the L99 engines in the automatic/DOD equipped 5th gen (10-15) Camaro V8’s have. Instead of PCV routing all the way to the rear driver side valve cover, mine is simply capped off from the factory… On top of that, I was planning to swap out my stock valley cover plate and gasket for it, due to excessive oil blow-by. I noticed this issue after installing an oil catch can; where the catch can would fill up 70-75% of the way, with every ~200-250 miles of driving or so!
i thought you needed to install the fuel injector spacers so the fuel rail crossover wouldnt bottom out on the top of the intake manifold. unless i missed that??
i want to order this part for my car i looked at several websites and the price varies .. my question is do i have to purchase all the extras aside of the manifold
What do you mean by all the extras? yes, you will of course need everything that makes the manifold bolt on. Besides O-rings and a few bits, it's pretty much complete. That being said, don't do this swap without the 102 mm throttle body. It makes a world of difference.
That's exactly what I'm dealing with. I just I just figured it out and ordered a different tensioner pulley. There's literally no info about this issue.
I'm currently installing a fast 102 on a 02 WS6 curious if it's necessary to take the top of the manifold and do the RTV. I didn't see it done on this video and if I don't have take the upper shell off that'd be great.
I need urgent help. My son took his intake manifold off but one of the boots broke inside. He bought a new one but they don't come with the sleeves. He was told the manufacturer said he has tonuse the original sleeves so what can he do?
and it is because of what happened at 3:59 in this video that the very first thing youre supposed to do after removing the intake is to shove shop towels down the intake ports on the heads or put masking tape over all of them.
Stupid question Im sure but learning cars and modding as I go with my Camaro. Isn't a tune needed after installing something like this or does it not matter since it's after sensors?
The FAST LSXR intake manifold has a CARB E.O. number and is emissions legal in all 50 states. A tune is not required. However, there will be greater power gains with a tune, especially if the intake manifold is installed with a 102mm throttle body and other modifications.
“Torque to factory specifications” - since you are actually doing it, why not give all of that information? Also, anyone is bolting on an LSXR intake manifold and not tuning, that’s hilariously bad economics.
If I put an intake manifold to my L99 Camaro ss 2015 which I already put Texas speed headders, full exhust, cai, n dyno tune how much horse power would I get?? Lmk I’m tryna get one but I wana make sure first
We recommend a throttle body and gaskets, you may want to consider an upgrade to your injectors and fuel rail as well. www.summitracing.com/parts/fst-146302b/recommendedparts/part-type/throttle-bodies Thank you for watching!
Crypto Pirate only adds 10 to 30+ for stock engine if you have other upgrades like ported heads or cam or any additional mods done to the car then it will help to your advantage cause the more mods you do to your engine the more as you would say “Needy” your car will get like if you have so much done to your car like ported heads cam smaller pulleys forced pistons bigger crank etc and your still running on stock fuel injectors then you will not get the full potential from the mods you’ve done because it has lack of fuel so you will need way bigger injectors to feed your engine:) hope I helped or at least gave you a look outside the box
This is probably one of the worst install videos I've ever seen. Also what happened with the MAP sensor? Looks like it was facing the wrong way when you first put it on and at the end it was turned around.
I love power adders but so many companies have enormous UGLY fucking logos on their parts. I do not want my engine bay to be an advertisement for their ugly parts.
I'd be nervous as hell drilling into a 1000 dollar intake manifold
Thanks Jim!! Very nicely done, helped me a lot! To the other haters under your videos, they are just disrespectful.
Thank you sir.
for an $1,100 manifold made specifically for the LS3/L99 its crazy that you have to drill it
Because its probably designed for "L99" the EFM + automatic transmission version of the manual + no EFM "LS3"

Wait. Plastic $1,000 intake?
So how much HRP and TRQ did this add? Is it worth the 1000$?
i thought you needed to install the fuel injector spacers so the fuel rail crossover wouldnt bottom out on the top of the intake manifold. unless i missed that??
Can you do a camshafts job on that car next?
🤷🏻♂️ would I spend over $1k to drill holes into it myself. How about a product that is fitting for its model? 🤔
would have been nice to show how you disconnect the small line under the front of the intake and the correct tool, if thats whats needed.
Yes! I was going to say that.

I love how he doesn't mention anything about removing the tensioner pulley to add a spacer so the Throttle body and the pulley aren't contracting

@@baykrawlerwhat tensenior did you end up buying? I’m about to buy this manifold

Brandon beard do you have to seal the top of the manifold?

Do you have to upgrade the throttle body to 102mm diameter when upgrading the manifold?
no you can run the stock one or the 102
So wait does the L99 need drilling also or it's only for the Ls3
at the 30 second mark. You are removing a HOT air kit not cold air.
Is the video out of them tuning the Camaro
Do it have the brake booster hose in the back of manifold?
and it is because of what happened at 3:59 in this video that the very first thing youre supposed to do after removing the intake is to shove shop towels down the intake ports on the heads or put masking tape over all of them.
Saw that too.
I thought the same thing.................

What i do to make it fit on a Pontiac g8 gt L76 engine
im trying to figure out the same thing.

Typically this is what i would tell my children if I don’t actually know the specs and im simply tightening it to hell
Can i install this on my 96 5.7 Caprice???
Thanks fellas
Thank you for watching!

Maybe 20 ish..
Just 20-25hp more idk if you’ve done it already I don’t think it’s worth 1.3k
Tuning required?
I like the MSD Air Force intake 👍🏽
Only thing I see wrong here is using the torque for a ratchet vs using a ratchet to do the job.
Anyone know of a cheaper route for a intake manifold for this same generation ss?
That's the same thing I've been trying to figure out. Other than just getting the OEM one ported, I haven't found any answers. 1k for this is insane.
So I have this and just the runners what else do I need before I start

I had a question, is there one of those plastic EFI intake manifolds which can be fitted to the Chevy big block ZZ572 engine. Thank you
+Field__-Marshal-__Flintlock ,
Currently, there are none. Sorry we couldn't help!
Use the Edelbrock Pro Flo XT intake with a Holley Dominator setup.
Can I put a oem ls3 intake manifold off a Camaro SS on my 2007 GMC 5.3 flex fuel truck
Why???
Do they make one for the new comaros?? 6th gen?
Unfortunately, the manufacturers we carry do not have listing them for the newer LT1 as of yet.
Doing this without the 102 mm throttle body makes little sense.
I was thinking the same thing...
Will u need a tune if went to a 96mm?
does this intake add a lot of horses to an engine about how much?

Waste of money
Why? You can't afford one?
@@AB-80X he can't lol
Vengence has a dyno Sheet of 40 plus HP gain so def not a waste.
Is 40Hp worth 1k dollars not including installment cost if you can't do it yourself.
