The way that huge fizzing ball of energy that Akane builds up during her solo is transferred to Kanami's guitar without spilling a drop is performance magic. You can see Akane visibly relax once she knows it's safe.
After ten years, they are no longer only band members - they've become family (in their own words). They are totally different individualities though, but they are one of those rare miraculous bands where each member complements the others, not only musically but also humanly. And it shows on stage.
They have been together with the same line up for ten years now and yet they love and take care of each other more than ever. How many bands can say that? I do hope they come back to UK next year, but I couldn't wait so I'm off to Japan in October for four servings (they call their shows servings - being maids of course)!
The Maids performing their second most performed song, Freedom, (just behind Real Existence) is pure perfection, isn't it? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure! Thanks Red, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I am a relatively new fan of Band-Maid, so I have been to their concerts only three times in Tokyo and Kawasaki. Their rock shows deliver smiles instead of grumpy faces, playful eyes instead of frowns, cheerful "Hey" instead of roaring. These amazing musicians sometimes work as hilarious comediennes on stage. The maids make you happy then we, masters and princesses, adore them.
Welcome back to Band Maid! You are right. It is amazing to see them having so much fun. They play with each other, interact with the fans, and everything is sincerely fun. Refreshing. Trust me. If there’s any way, you must see them live. It’s an experience right up there with skydiving. Absolutely thrilling and memorable 😉 I can say that you’re knocking down one Maid banger after another. Here are some options, depending on what mood you’re in: More crowd participation and fun? “Play,” official live video. Maybe you’ll even sing along? “La la la la la la la!” Feeling Proggy? Rollercoaster ride of epic proportions, a must-hear masterpiece: “Blooming,” official music video. Or are you ready to hear the Maids softer side? They rock a ballad as well as anyone: “Daydreaming,” official music video. Let’s gooooo! 🎉 🤘🏽 🎸
The drum and guitar solos never fail to give me goosebumps! They're so tasteful and restrained, yet so very good. The other thing is that all 5 members' contributions serve the song so well. And I'm not talking just musicianship, although that's clearly a huge part of it, but also their smiles and energy, their interplay and obvious enjoyment, and then there's the way they support each other. Miku's pumping of her fist during Akane's solo. Oh and one of the fun parts is that Kanami's crouching beside Miku during her vocal piece is in response to Miku once forgetting the words to that verse, so often Kaname and MISA troll her by closely watching to make sure she never forgets again. It's humour and support you never expect to find in a band of such obvious quality. Love 'em. Oh and you wish they'd come to the UK, I wish they'd come to Oz!
Band-Maid is a complete package that the music world very rarely has to offer, especially in this day and age. 🙏🏻🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' 🎶🕊
On my first visit down the rabbit hole, back in 2019. my first excursion was Thrill Band Maid. Loved them right away. I saw the confidence in her ( Saiki ) and the others. I've never left and I get so excited watching new reactors like me. I get so overwhelm by joy and happiness sometimes to tears and I will laugh at the same time. They are truly amazing.
I think the 2 fer Manners / Black Hole live is probably the 'I think you're ready for this' video. Manners will get you in the groove and Black Hole will take you somewhere else.
Kanami was singing and she's not even at a microphone. She' really happy in this one, especially when she is sitting and watching Miku sing her part. She often looks a bit more serious these days when they are performing.
Good one Red (again). I suggest that you react to one of the acoustics next. A different kind of awesomeness. I will also recommend the Ohrenje documentary series of Band-Maid and the Gold Rush interview to get to know each member better. A wise man once said that Freedom are the biggest musical happypill, I believe he's right.
I have seen a lot of great bands live... and the only ones that really kicked ass consistently during the Live experience where Rush, ZZ Top , Stevie Ray Vaughn and Band Maid.... with Rush and Band Maid being the only two where the Band members actually acted like they wanted to be there....
You need some proper Headphones so you can enjoy all that low end goodness from Akane and MISA. I think to come back to the UK, or anywhere in Eurpe, again anytime soon it would have to be on the end of the U.S. leg of an extended tour. To come direct from Japan without flying over Russian Air Space just isn't economical anymore.
For ten years Band Maid have just evolved and grown and trying to pigeon hole them into any genre never works. Metal, Rock, no the genre is Band Maid and it is best left at that. They are just a delight to listen and to watch in the live performances. Not often that music can be guaranteed to have a hook, replayability and on every listen something else pops up from the superb drumming to the vocals to the overall composition. There are great bands and then there is Band Maid.

Short, crisp and to the point! 👍🏻🙋🏻♂
If it's FREEDOM you desire then BAND-MAID are the answer.

No one has more fun than Band-Maid performing, and it's infectious on the listeners!

Would be great to see them live - and on the subject of me singing along, well I doubt that as it would probably get the channel canceled.....lol😉

Every time I see this video I think of Todd Rundgren: _"I don't want to work. I just want to bang on the drum all day."_
And mad props for not pausing between A-Chan and Mincho.

Checkout their live of the song "Play" or "Real Existence" official live. Think you'll like it.
