Many of us recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the DB’s matched the BPM’s! Their 10th Anniversary Tour concludes at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023! The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, Red!
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live three times with this MV quality in Tokyo & Kawasaki and dropped my jaw three times 😲. I believe so did many of American audience in their recent two US tours. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
Just imagine: on the same mini album, there's this prog intrumental masterpiece, a fast punky post-covid hymn (Unleash!!!!!), one of their best hard-rock songs (Hate?) and a modern funky rock-pop tune (Influencer) - talk about versatility! (and yes, the others songs I didn't mention are great and varied too).
When a single instrumental has more to tell than 100 songs in which someone sings, right? 🤭And yes, let's be honest, with her guitar Kanami stands a bit in the focus here, but you're right, and I never get tired of saying it, this band is built on 5 pillars, none of which is weaker than the other. 🤘🏻🔥 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' 🎶🕊
I saw them perform "From Now On" at their May 24th Okyu-ji in Detroit: Amazing! Everything about "From Now On" is phenomenal. Starting with the backing track. Those who are unfamiliar with Band-Maid might think that their producer had some studio musicians add in the piano and synths, not realizing that Band-Maid self produces and records their own backing tracks. Most of the Maids are multi-instrumentalists and all of them contribute to their backing tracks. Kanami is a brilliant pianist, and we are guessing that she is playing piano on "From Now On". Kanami, Misa, and Akane often compose by programming and sharing MIDI files. Band-Maid Prime recently released a video of Akane playing the drums in "From Now On" and she makes it look so easy. She's so relaxed and calm throughout the demonstration. The music video purposely makes it look more dramatic! As it should, since the drums are such a huge part of this instrumental.
yeah - felt a bit of an idiot on that one for a bit, but I try to go into every song as blind as I can so that my reaction is as you see it, and sometimes it just backfires......lol😂
Great that you are loving Band Maid ! It is interesting that you said you felt exhausted watching this. Last year Band Maid performed 12 shows in October in the USA. However they did not perform 'From Now On' at the last show in Chicago as it was taking too much toll on Kanami. It would be great if you could react to my favourite Band Maid song, 'Blooming' the official MV. I know you will love it ! Enjoy !!
Hi Reds! Best wishes from rainy Staffordshire. Saiki the lead singer has had throat surgery in the past so the band are very careful with her voice. They play 2+ hour shows so to give Saiki a break around mid-set they do three things. 1. Play an instrumental, 2. Miku (rhythm guitar) takes lead vocals for a song or two (she has a track usually once per album where she is lead vocalist) and 3. Miku will do her legendary and hilarious "Magic Time" MC set. Then Saiki comes back on to finish the set. So yeah, they have a number of really cool instrumental tracks. Check out the live MV of "Onset" for another instrumental banger!
Yes 🙌! So happy for you to get this one into your soul. The more you listen to it, the more it will give. After hearing about three tracks, this was the song that put me over the top. This is more than a song; it’s a statement. This isn’t a jam session. This isn’t a rhythm section vamping along as the lead guitarist sweep picks a thousand soulless notes. This is a beautiful musical composition delivered by a band. When musicians can compose an instrumental that comes across as a song? That’s special. It’s a lot of fun watching you discover all this new stuff. I say that finding Band-Maid is like winning the rock & roll lottery. It’s a never ending supply of unique songs. The Maids have several instrumentals: “Don’t be long,” “Onset,” and “Without Holding Back.” I refrain from nerding out beyond that. (Maidiacs tend to go nuts sometimes) 😉 Now what are you going to do!? “Onset,” official live? Another instrumental with an entirely different feel? In front of a crowd? “Play,” official live video. A song written as an instrumental, but Saiki liked it so much she had Miku write lyrics for it? “About Us,” the love song they wrote specifically to their fans while everyone was missing live concerts during the lockdowns? (Band Maid has written several love songs for their fans, too) Keep going, Red! 🎉
You have no ideal just how intense. This song takes a certain amount of energy to play. On the final leg of last year's tour, Kanami was feeling under the weather, some have suggested it was from too much Red Bull. But at the last show she wasn't able to do this song and it was taken off the set list.If you enjoy their instrumentals check out 'Without Holding Back'. You can't find it on RUclips anymore. It's only on the Chinese site Bilibili. But good luck getting a decent reaction of it. It can be challenging.
Reds! Greetings from blazing hot Shizuoka with Munt Fuji hiding under clouds! Hey kid. I hope that you can identify who is who. Fun fact... Kanami's mantra is... "I will do my best". And with what you have seen and heard so far, you have no idea how good her "best" is. Only about 120 songs to go. 🤣🤣🤣

Kanami🥰took the vocals in her own hands on this one.
Out of all the BAND-MAID instrumentals this is by far just as awesome as all the other BAND-MAID songs.
Of the pure instrumentals, I would agree with you. I still have a soft spot for "Giovanni" done instrumentally!
Kanami is so f'n cool.
It’s even better in person.
7:35 if you think they didn't hold back on this one, you should give a look and listen to "Without Holding Back."

My favorite BAND-MAID song for the last few months. And why not. Melodic hard rock at it's finest. Peace. 1.97
Indeed, melodic hard rock. Just like Def Leppard said about their music.

You won't need closed captions for Kanami's singing guitar...

Saiki doesn't have an "intensity" knob. She either gives it everything or goes off-stage for a spot of tea.
Saiki and Miku both had throat surgery.
When I saw them live they played Onset and From Now On back to back.
@@powbobs yep, they both did. I can't wait to see them live, I have tickets for four servings in October!

For me this is up with Santana's "Samba pa ti" and Mick Fleetwood's "Albatross" as a guitar based pure instrumental.
