ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In a return to Gold Coast Railroad Museum's Models Room, we run a CSX mixed freight train with my ScaleTrains Tier-4 GEVO ET44AH locomotives. We then break in the new SD40-3 product and add a cut of (empty) ethanol cars, loosely resembling train Q300. The layout was donated by the family and estate of David DiMassimo in 2015, and is supposed to capture the New York Central operation. Hence, CSX and Norfolk Southern trains are appropriate in this layout.

Wow, what a beautiful layout. This one has gotta be one of my favorite CSX switching layouts! I used to live about 5 mins away from a very active CSX A-Line in South Carolina. Boy does this take me back.

I personally don't like the cabs on the 40-3s, but hey, that's the great thing about model railroading, you model what you want. I model Chessie System, pre CSX.

That wasn't what I meant. The layout just looks like it been around for awhile. So of course it would need a few repairs. Not trying to knock your layout. I was however saying something about your cam work. But in a good way.

Paleeeeeeeze .... It is not pronounced Lock Sound. These DCC controllers control locomotives. It is pronounced "Loak" sound, as in locomotive. Check the ESU Loksound videos.
I'll keep that in mind. German accent of course.

Unfortunately I had to cut CSX out of my plans. Too expensive for the 100 trains the line would have had.

It was the auto and Intermodal that really decided it. Those cars really add up. 5-unit spines and 3-unit wells were $50-$120 last I priced them a couple years ago.
@@cp368productions2 theyre still high. I made a Chessie TOFC train, i think i have over 1500 in cars and trailers. Not to mention the GP30s i have right now to pull them.
Awesome video.. I liked how some of the equipment was down. You should shoot a mow video with some of the equipment being worked on. Brings more realism to the layout
Thanks! It’s like a happy accident. Well, the layout has deteriorated so the MOW might be extra, but that can be considered!

Hello everyone I am a new Ho hobbyer and I current have a dc track which is fairly large I have a few engines with sound and unfortunately I do not have a controller that can do whistles and bells. I have a railpower 1300 does anyone know a dc Ho controller that can blow a whistle or sound a bell

It’s not realistic because this is the only freight train in the entire world that is not covered in graffiti front to back.
If I had a choice to play video games the rest of my life or have unlimited train models I would choose the train model

Love the SD40-3's but they need a louder and clearer horn, that bell over powers it. Those ET44AH' 's are just as bad, I wonder if its the sound file used or the speakers they used are junk. Scaletrains needs to improve in that dept if thats the case.

Oscar Echevarria The bridge has been problematic as always due to the curvature, nothing new. Also occasional derail at the switches by the IM yard. A plan could be in place to replace with code 100 track

A club member has one! I am considering buying one too. The 4026 and an SD40-2 I own got tweaked by it.
This layout may as well be considered dark territory since CSX obviously won't repair any of those signals
