  • I'm switching to the Galaxy S23 Ultra from the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I have a lot of thoughts since my decision. It's been very refreshing since I've left my iPhone 14 Pro Max and in this review, I will be showing why the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a superior phone.

For the SPen, this is why it is actually a wonderful tool. You can use the pen to take selfies. Or set the phone on a platform and click the button on the SPen to take a group photo. You can use it to turn off the screen when that someone walks in. You can take a screen shot or any photo and use the SPen to highlight or circle text when sharing. It is a very useful tool that hasn't quite been recognized.

I went S23 Ultra. Absolutely love it (after some 10 years in the Apple eco-system). DeX has become my 'go to' mobile laptop solution, replacing my i7 Chromebook and Linux laptop for a lot of tasks. The battery life, cameras, speed, and feature alone make this a top-notch purchase. Absolutely stellar stuff from Samsung!

Due to the nature of my job I always have both an iOS and an Android phone. And I agree with you 100% when you said that it has been a while since Apple made an exciting phone. So much so that over the past couple of years it's been dificult for me to justify the price tag on the top of the line Apple smartphones, which is something that couldn't be said of the S23 Ultra and its predecessor. I probably wouldn't even be using an iOS device now if I weren't able to get it through company expense.

I owned both iP14 PM Purple and S23 Ultra Green. I can say camera outputs are way better in S23 Ultra than my iP14 Pro Max. As for pictures look much sharper and processed in s23 there is a camera assistant app made for samsung that can be used to lessen the picture sharpening. I dunno but i find pictures on my iP14 PM boring and dull, thoni understand it gives more of a realistic color, the shots are not that good compared to quality of what 200mp from samsung gave. even if i turned on raw 48mp from my promax, s23 ultra still the clear winner in camera dept. i love both phones but its just fun to use on a daily basis the s23u :) this is just my own opinion since i have both

I got the iPhone 14 pro as my first iPhone. The biggest weak spot is how bad the camera quality is when zooming 5x or more. The galaxy line is significantly better there.
Then I prefer the small features like the fingerprint scanner, being able to swipe down notifications from anywhere on the screen, the app drawer, t9 dialing etc. The Galaxy line is just more intuitive and easier to use with one hand

I've been using an iphone7 plus since they first came out back in 2016 and it's still a good phone, the issue i believe is that nowadays apps requirements are too high for its hardware and this is why it has become a little laggy since the last two or three software updates. Thst phone has been through hell in my hands. Lots of gaming, video and music streaming, all kind of app installing and uninstalling, thousands of photos and videos taken, lots of bluetooth and wi fi connections, lots of pairing to other devices, all good never troubled. That has made me trust Apple for life with the quality of their products. Until getting that iphone, I was moving from one android to another, most of the known brands and never had i held a phone longer than a year, two tops. The iphone turns 7 this year and this is why I am considering getting the 14 pro max. Thanks for this comparison, I've been watching a lot of videos and I found your to be the most genuine so far. Keep up the great work!

If you go into settings you can get a secret feature on both phones you can access developer mode and you can pick the speed of what things fo like open other apps return to the home screen ect. Just look it up for yourself
For the selfies get the Google photos app and make it so when you take photos they will automatically be backed up and edit thr photos if it's not the best sharpness on your face and hit thr enhance feature and ot makes 10x better that's what I do
And on the s23 ultra get the samsung smart-switch app when you upgrade because it moves everything I mean everything over to the new phone, most of your apps, all photos in the gallery, phone numbers, nothed in thr notes app, youtube data, settings data, hope this helps 👍

My brother switched to Ios(Iphone 14PM) from Android for the first time and is already regretting. I was about to switch to ios too but decided to go with S23 ultra. I'll be honest , I actually don't feel any significant and mind boggling difference between them. But one thing, android is way more practical. Small features like t9 dialing or Call logs from weeks ago to a back gesture navigation makes a huge difference. Believe it or not my brother's missing all these. He fell into the ios hype and already regretting.
P.S : Also I don't believe Iphone has better camera, videos sure but not better camera overall.

Yeah the video quality of the IPhone 14 Pro Max is excellent, but it's photographic capabilities have fallen behind the pack somewhat. The 23 Ultra takes much better photographs and it's video quality is now closer to that of the IPhone than ever. It's video versatility is actually better. To be able to pause record in video is something Apple needs to bring to the IPhone 15 in my opinion.

@@arthur_of_rivia5909 Camera wise I could not agree with you more about the Samsung shutter speed issue. I was taking photos of motorbikes lapping a grass circuit in ideal sunny conditions at a Vintage Rally recently on my S23 Ultra, and in this bright sunshine the photos I took had shutter speed so fast that it caught the bikes at a dead stop image wise even as far as their spokes being at a dead stop too. I moved indoors later on with no artificial lighting on, taking family photos and everyone's motion was blurred. This can't be just a software glitch though, it is something more complex than this?. Rest of the camera function is superb though. Videos are very very good on this device too, and the zoom lenses give great flexibility in both photos and videos. Display and battery life are superb and the phone flies performance wise. Serious multi tasking is a breeze even when in split screen mode. The phone is delightfuly customizable also, and I regularly change themes on mine. I really do love the phone. 👍

@@neilmcguinness4422 I think the mighty 200MP takes time to process I guess. I don't think shutter speed will be resolved through updates . Hope future Samsung phones come with better shutter speed. Still photos are amazing though. It has that amazing depth sensor Ig which makes photos dslr like. Recently I captured my friends engagement pictures. They were amazed by the camera. Also the phone is just exceptional in other areas.

They won't/ can't implement those features within the next at least 25 years, I said At least. That is also a misconception spread by the Western media that Apple implements better. Did Apple implement Always on Display better? App clone feature, secure folder, t9 dialing. Being able to pause, and change the camera while doing video recording. Everyday use I am talking about man. Multi-tasking, You can't even put your WhatsApp call on hold and receive an incoming call coming. What are you talking about man? iPhone is for older Westerners and females (I hope I don't have to explain why females), outside of that, dumbs use iPhones. By the way, I have mac book pro and I pad Pro, I love them. so I am not an apple hater. But when it comes to phones, I have to be honest. Remember, Media is completely opposite of the reality. The main reason I switched was because the past 3 androids I owned had the type c charger port which would wear out and make it difficult to charge or connect to my car since it had to be plugged in. I discovered the iPhone had the wireless mag charge option so I just switched over. Also my wife and kids all have iPhones and play these chat games together like golf, darts, and beer pong that are only available on iPhone but now I can play along with them. I prefer the s23 ultra for my phone I’ve used both and for 2023, and iPhone can only zoom in 3x optical while Samsung can do 10x and overall I like the s23 ultra they both work well I just find Samsung has a bit more to offer as iPhone has been pretty much the same phone the past few years and I like to be able to customize my phone to my liking like moving a app to a certain part of the screen while Apple always goes to the top no matter where you want to move it both are good but I think Samsung takes this one as they let you do more.

Love my 23 ultra, text customizing in samsung themes with wallpapers etc just work way better than that over skin crap you have to do with iphone. Some things you can now customize on iphone but having to go through shortcuts etc is just a pain. Have all my emails etc in one spot in my samsung folders and my business stuff in google folders, the cameras, video just everything work great for productivity. Also love the fact can use whatever for my samsung vs having to be locked in the apple ecosystem. It was horrible having to switch because apple plants you in concrete shoes with the ecosystem. Im very happy i left apple when they decide to do newer designs to their phones to freshen it up a bit i may go back but the same stuff every year just some upgraded software here and there isnt enough to keep me locked in. Why pay so much for the same thing every year. Now im looking into the fold 5 when it launches as a secondary device. 🎉

But with Apples ecosystem I can’t fault them. Believe me it’s something I can’t believe I am saying.
