Hey guys I’m sorry the speaker or sound is being weird I’m trying get these new microphones in the right settings. I will get it right thanks for all the love ❤
I don't believe in open relationships at all, never did and never will. I'm an older, single gay man and this video underscores some of the issues I have with the gay culture and the modern cultural attitudes towards sex and relationships in general. I'm a died-in-the-wool romantic and I can't count the times I've been passed over for the next pretty, shiny thing. It seems to be an obsession with gay men. As a result, I've developed an immense distrust of gay men and the whole lifestyle. I believe in courtship - ie not hopping into bed with a man even when I'm immensely and intensely attracted to him. I refuse to settle for crumbs when it's a seat at the table that I want and need. I have been out of the dating scene for years as a result as I've found that I'd prefer to be alone than to continually have my hopes dashed time and time again. I hear people say to me that I'm very handsome and they don't understand why I'm single...well, this video exactly explains why I am still single. If there's a match out there for me and if it's god's will, then we'll find each other. But I sure won't be fishing in the Grindr pool or any of the other apps that are predisposed to hook ups. Total waste of time. Nick and Mike got lucky but most have not had the fairytale ending. So, for now, I'll find my happiness alone.
My suggestion! Protect and value your relationship by keeping it monogamous! Don't open it! Build something beautiful with your man. And in case, in the future, you both feel the need to explore different things, so then you say goodbye to each other and be free! But, respect, protect and enjoy what you've got! I wish you all the best! A big hug from Brazil! Happy anniversary!
Monogamy cannot "protect" any relationship. Let's be honest: Men are horny. We can either choose to ignore that reality and be disappointed, or accept who we are as sexual beings and be liberated.
100% agree. I see ZERO point in an open relationship or marriage and tbh, I'm tired of seeing it in the gay community. I want to see more monogamous relationships and less messy, open relationships. If they ever feel the need to see other guys, I hope they split up. Open relationships are cope imo
I met my soon to be ex husband, we were together for 2 years and then he broke up with me. We were separated for a year and then got back together. We were then together and got married for almost 20 years and then he left me again and filed for divorce. Life is crazy!
Nick, you look so healthy and handsome! Open relationships in theory sound great where people can explore with other partners but it definitely is not for everyone. Too many emotions and feelings get in the way. I'm so glad that things worked out for you and Mike. Relationships take a lot of work to sort things through sometimes. I love your story telling. You explain everything so well and you are so open about everything. Thank you Nick for being so open with us. I wish you nothing but the best.
Happy Anniversary ❤ ❤. I'm not in a relationship at this time. But I am looking to meet a great man. Thanks for sharing your life with us. I've been a follower for several years!
We had been dating for a short while. Had quite a bit in common (loved the same TV shows and movies, similar politics, etc ). One evening, sitting on his couch, there was a sound at the door. He got up, walked over, opened it, and in walked his neighbor's cat. He then walked to the kitchen, opened up a cupboard, and took out a pouch of tuna fish, and fed it to the cat. He told me he did this all the time. He actually bought tuna at the store to have on hand when his neighbor's cat visited. I fell madly, passionately in love, and still am seventeen years later. Look for what's in the heart. Always.
Your videos are always inspiring, Nick. You give hope to many people who might have given up. Giving up is never an option but believing there's a happy future is always the best. 🙂❤️
Thank you for your openness and honesty. Your stories are always riveting and fascinating. I am so glad it worked out for you two. So many people try to rush and "lock it in" or are so desperate to be in a relationship - as though that is the answer to their problems, and they end up making horrible choices. I would rather be in no relationship than the wrong relationship. Keep up the good work and keep building your channel. ❤
My husband now of 12 years- married 3 years now and dated for 9 years. We had a 5 year long distance relationship before moving to the same city to love together. We’ve had a discussion about opening up our relationship and in the end we decided to remain exclusive to each other. Open relationships works for some couples and doesn’t for others. I’m glad we stayed exclusive.
You asked in another video how folks felt about open relationships. Your story is pretty much the case in point for why one doesn't do open relationships IF you truly value your relationship. I believe, and I haven't watched all your videos, that you and Mike have now survived a few more years (btw your anniversary is on my birthday). That is often or usually not the case. I have seen so many relationships where an open relationship ends, one partner goes off with their new interest, and a year later it blows up. New relationships can be enticing. Falling in lust or live can be very attractive but more often than not, the sparks burn out.
First time seeing a RUclips video on this topic for gay people. Youguys seem so real and down to earth. The sincerity and openness you demonstrate is so refreshing. I was in an age gap relationship and it was an amazing relationship . He has passed and I have been so empty since. So, thanks for now making me feel like I am not the only one understanding how an age gap relationship can phenomenal. Keep up the sharing , it really makes a difference.
I see your channel name changed. I still need to watch your travel videos in my watch later folder. Don't you hate how people misrepresent themselves and put you though changes or waste your time. Your story was quite interesting. You really went through it and the issues of acceptance and other obstacles. You got there. You reached the goal and you stay focused and committed in your relationship. I do not have any stories to share. I was never successful in romance or connecting with someone. I stopped trying years ago. You are and this is good to see and hear.
I met my husband on Grindr too...lol... we are in close relationship... we don't believe in open relationships... we had a few couple of friends who went into open and they broke up .. and one of them married the third one lol... my husband's ex wanted a open relationship and then he married the third ... ... hugs from Canada 👋😁
Hey I just got it on my recent trip to Thailand they sell all different types over there but not sure if there is a specific artist I will look tomorrow and get back with you ❤️😊
Nick, Wow, that's an amazing story. I've always wanted to tell my story but after trying to write a book and do some you tubes nothing too great so far. I enjoy age gaps because I am one. I will say from the other side like Mike, your partner. I'm 62 and raised in a religious family in Missouri. Some say they always knew they were gay. Not me. I dated girls and had crushes on girls. Married at 32 so did that mean I was gay? Had a son and 3 years into marriage at 35 and working for a university I fell into a gay website. 1997... I'd had gay friends. It wasn't me. But seeing what I saw changed something. Talked to my Catholic wife and we worked 5 years to fix me. She finally found someone else. I dated and married a guy who was 9 years younger and had drug issues. We broke up and I was active in gay rodeo in Arizona. My ex moved there with my son so I followed. At my daughter's college graduation I met my now husband. 2011 and he met my ex's family on our first date. He is 25 years my junior. Im just 7 years younger than his Mom. Married 10 years this past June. We have a mini farm with animals. To wake up at 35 and realize you're gay. Wow. Funny part is my husband is older than me in gay years...lol because he has always known he's gay. So he's the quite one and I'm the old man still seeking gay knowledge. I will watch more of your stories. Good luck to you all. Id say we have had a storybook relationship and marriage.
I had a fantastic first date off Tinder that immediately went from a coffee date to a lunch date. We had a whirlwind romance of a summer. 4 months later he accepted a job in Upstate NY (we’re in Austin Tx) and so many confusing things happen week after week until we have one last heart to heart and we agree to work on a long-distance relationship. It was incredibly difficult but we’re back together in ATX going on year 4 😵💫🥰
OMG, Nick, what kind of fool would break up with you??! You make me crazy, just watching your videos! lol I’m glad you managed to overcome your addiction! You’re way too sweet of a guy.
The gay world is so so different. I am gay but was married to my accepting wife for 51 years. I cared for her with MS for 26 years before she passed. Both my adult children are very accepting which is great. I am now free to be the gay man I always was. But at 77 I am not looking for a husband. Too old now. That is OK.
My partner and I met on an AOL chat room. We talked every night. We finally met a month later and instantly hit it off. We did a long distance relationship for 1 year then I moved to the town he lived in . 26 years later we are still the love of each others life. I could not ask for a better partner to spend my life with. So I guess i would have to say this was a fairy tale meeting where we lived happily ever after.
@@AuthenNick of course! I got to the end of the video after posting my last comment so I wanted to expand. I met my husband on POF and there is an age gap with us too. We are about 20 years apart, he is older. My parents def had some issues with it at the time. I was 33 and he was 52, I think. We are 8 years in, 4 years married and still very much in love. Ironically, his name is Mike too :) There are always going to be ups and downs in a relationship because as we all know, no relationship is perfect. We had a honeymoon phase and stuff too. That has obviously gone but at the same time, we make sure we check in with each other and be as present as possible together. The key is to be honest and communicate :) Thankfully, my parents have come to accept us as a couple, despite the age difference because they see he makes me happy and takes amazing care of me, as I take good care of him!
We had the "love at first sight" thing however I had to negotiate around an awful person to get my partner - a 6 month process. Long story short 22 years later here we are. Still very much in love and enjoying everyday together. We're monogamous in the most part. He "cheated" twice BUT he was so upset he confessed as soon as I got home on both occasions. He has intellectual disabilities so he is unfortunately easily lead on occasions twice to be precise lol. I now a 2 voucher Hall pass! lol! We have a friend who I can have fun with - once only so far but its out in the open and no secrets. THAT is the key. NO SECRETS. Be honest and open, all can be forgiven I reckon. *hugs* from Australia.
The audio on this isn't that great. You only have one speaker that plays your video. When a commercial comes on both speakers are on and loud, then you come on and can't really hear.

He was a great guy, but our futures did not align and I couldn’t lead him on. I don’t want to post about it on social media because he still may be watching the content and I feel like that’s kind of rude.
You are just a cute guy. I don't mean sexually (of course you are) but just your whole personality and your honesty is fantastic. Mike is lucky guy. My story is funny about how I met my husband, in fact just north of you. I woke up on a Sunday morning and he was in my living room. He was my roommates Saturday night trick. We spoke for a couple of hours but that was that. I thought he was a nice guy but didn't think anymore about it. They apparently had dated a few times. They went out a few more times (I never saw him again) then he left for a 6 week training in Texas. About 3 months after we met in my living room I was out at the hottest dance club I think ever existed in Ft laud on a Friday night. I ran into him. He had just returned from Tx and apparently my roommate had sent him a dear john letter, that's a "we are over letter" for anyone under 55. Remember no email in 1981. Anyway he was trying to pick up a guy from Sweden and neither spoke the others language. At about 3am I asked him if he wanted to spend the night with me. He said yes, I said you know the way, lol. By Sunday night he still hadn't left and we had to pick my roommate at the airport. He was extremely confused why he was there and who he was sleeping with. It was a bit awkward on the drive home to say the least. That was 43 years ago. We fell in love that weekend....
Hello Nick. I am 32 and from the UK and originally from Hong Kong. I would like to ask how many years age gap between you and mike. I like older men and have been seeing someone almost a year. He is soon 52 and I feel a bit scared the age gap between him and I. Especially, he is been so kind and looking after me. Since my 37 years old british ex ended our 9 years relationship last year September 2023. I have been always thinking that I want to get with my ex in the future. Even through he dumped for a feminine Filipino guy stright after the break up. I don't even know whether this new guy I am seeing is the right person for me. Thank you
Hey bud Mike is 60 so there is a 29year age difference which is a lot. But there is something there our conversations, the spark, the love, the man he is on the inside, i really don’t think about the age anymore I used to think about it a lot but just go with what feels right now
I don't believe in love at first sight. I'm not saying that it's not possible , but i think two people can be very attracted to one another at first sight. I have experienced that. I think a love is something that has to be developed over a period of time. It has to be deep. Then a strong bond is made. Some people want to be in love , but it's only romantic thinking. And some people will tell a person that they love them , but they don't.
Seriously it’s on my shirt I thought I fixed it?!? It’s so loud on my phone and computer when I play it Is it just your phone can you try another device ?

WoW, Nick!!! It sounds like all 3 of you went through HELL!!!! If I understood you correctly, you said Mike has an EX wife and an EX partner???? How long was Mike married for?? Did he suddenly realize he was gay?? Please do a story about this!!!! And do not forget to do the story of what happened to Mike when he broke up with this EX partner on the cruise and still had 10-14 days left on the cruise with his EX!!!! You said you would tell us this story another time!!! Nick, you are an EXCELLENT story time teller!!!! Love listening to your story times!!!!! Something I did not get out of this story nor the break up, relapse, get together story either. How long was the time between Mikes breakup with you and when you two decide to be together?????? I heard Mike was with you through the whole detox and such to get back on the straight and narrow!! I am looking forward to hearing back from you please!!!!!!!!!

I'm a momma's boy too. We're kinda the same. Except, it sounded like you had the courage to put yourself out there in an effort to find someone, but I never did. I'm too introverted to talk to anyone irl. I'm 31 and still a virgin. I crave love. I'm super lonely. I wanted to be loved and to fall for someone, for once in my life, but I can't bring myself to go out to find someone. Im full of insecurities and lacking in confidence. Even if I tried. I would probably be awkwardly sitting by myself in a bar somewhere and will never get a hit. I'm considering an Escort, just to lose my virginity and maybe after getting a taste of being in the company of another man, no matter if it's fake and bought by money, I may finally either want a real one badly enough to find the motivation to confidently looking for it or just shut myself off from love forever and be done with it. This loneliness, the hunger for affection, for love is seriously unhealthy and it's bringing me to the breaking point.
You can’t just say, “we talked for a bit, went into his bed room, we did our thing and it was an amazing experience.” We need details!! 😂 What did you guys do and what made it an amazing experience? 😂
I tried everything dating apps social media going to bars to find my boyfriend nothing yet ?I was told don't be in a rush it would happen when you least expect it? Still looking no luck yet?

Hi nick!
Hi nick…you look so handsome.❤
❤️
Hey, happy 1 year
But there is something there our conversations, the spark, the love, the man he is on the inside, i really don’t think about the age anymore I used to think about it a lot but just go with what feels right now
Wow, that's a huge age gap. I wish you the best but statistically the odds are against you..
I want to tell u I am single . Lol . U and Mike are a nice couple. Lol have a good night .
I am always manifest. 🙏
Any friend or bf you have should be supportive and interested in your recovery , attend Al-Anon etc.
You look so cute. I like the beard and hair
O M G The drama STOP!!!!!

Where is your microphone. I can barely hear this.
Seriously it’s on my shirt I thought I fixed it?!? It’s so loud on my phone and computer when I play it
Is it just your phone can you try another device ?
@@AuthenNickcan’t hear you 😢❤
@@AuthenNick Yes true, the audio seems to have something wrong and only one of the earphones/ speakers is talking. Hope you can fix this problem😀 And I love the way you tell a story. Thanks for sharing!
In future videos please discuss sexual addiction and gold diggers as they function in the gay subculture. Also trauma bonding

HI AUTHENNICK I NEVER HAD ONE OF BOYFRIEND I ONLY LIVE WITH MY MOM FOR 37 YEAR NOW IM 55 YEAR OLD I DON'T HAVE RELATIONSHIP JUST GONE I CAN'T DATE NO MEN WANT ME SO I STAY SINGLE FOR GOOD IM DONE I LOVE YOU LOVE DAVID😀🥰😀🥰🥰🥰
Thanks David ❤️❤️❤️
This loneliness, the hunger for affection, for love is seriously unhealthy and it's bringing me to the breaking point.
great story. open relationship is not my cup of tea. no. no.
Your usual daddy thing.
Hahaha exactly
You can’t just say, “we talked for a bit, went into his bed room, we did our thing and it was an amazing experience.” We need details!! 😂 What did you guys do and what made it an amazing experience? 😂
Just my opinion, focus on your recovery.
I could ask you how long it took before......
But MMOB 😂

Don't give hope. You'll meet the man of your dreams when you least expect it.
It's important to believe he's out there. 🙂
