Don't fall for this guys. I've already seen multiple times for both of these cars at stock. The s550's are on average 2 tenths quicker thru the 1/4 mile. Love the motor in the s650. Its a shame it can't be tuned by everyone like the older car. Don't like the heavy s650 chassis.
It’s the same chassis as the S550 😂 I have a 2020 and it’s outdated by 15 year old tech and interior design. Be thankful you still got a V8 and this car still exists.

It is the same chassis but has been modified. It weighs more. I am glad there is still a V8, just wish it could be more easily modified like the previous gens. I have owned almost every generation. This is the first I would not buy. @@alexordonez6494

It's an s550 chassis which makes me confused as to why it's even called an s650 to begin with. Its a refreshed s550 is heavier with slightly more power and a locked down ecu for a good bit more money. I'll pass. It has nowhere near the potential because of tuning it doesn't matter how good the rods are. With those "Ford approved" tunes you'll never see the potential of them. It's a huge disappointment but people just cannot accept it. I'm a big Ford guy but I'm not blind.
i really dont wanna be that guy but the s550 isnt using the 10 speed right, you can see in the second roll race he did the paddles right until his last shift, this is why you dont leave it in paddles, you put it back into drive and THEN back into S, you cant outshift a computer. this is the absolute fastest way to do roll racing in the 10 speeds, also i dont know if you have a specific reason for doing 25 rolls, but its extremely low in the rpm band, a 45 roll suits the 10 speeds alot more and would be a more entertaining race due to better pickup at the start. another point to make is that gearing matters, you never specified what gearing he has, the 3.15s are going to out do the 3.55s in a roll every single time. just some thoughts from your average 10 speed s550 owner who loves to race and is in fact still stock.

Also the way the 3rd gen shifts after the launch on the last dig, it almost looks like the traction control might still be on. Might be driver error all the way around.
I like the S650 but the S550 is just better in my opinion.

You’re only saying that because of receny bias when the S550 first came out it wasn’t received well at all I remember all the videos saying how ugly it was and people hated to this day people still prefer the 5th gen I’m one of those people but it’s like I said it’s receny bias in the next 5 years people are going to be saying the same exact thing on how the s650 is so much better than the s550 I like the 5th gen because it had a more muscle car look that the s550 went away from

650 smashing it. Im on my 7th coyote all have needed way more miles that what is dyno run right now. My 650 has more power than than my 550. Its also faster. The s650 runs over the top of the 550 which is essentially what you see here. Well done. I own both so no bias, 650 is just better. As you would expect.

They put down similar power, share the same platform. Not much seperates the two. S550 starts pulling a little up top though. The bump in power and the price tag on the s650 while not showing gains over the s550 is what fuels the dud talk. Imop at least

I like both Mustangs. But other than interesting content. No drag packs, no interior deletes. Just straight off the showroom floor an run it. My Mustang is full interior and no weight reduction, do like factory rear seat deletes like on GT350R. Hell I still run all season tires 😂

You really need a starter. Usually the one counting has an advantage. Having a starter is a lot more even. Maybe you can find a portable tree, or some such.

The S650 will find its peeps just like the S550 has. At this point, bone stock, I would say both are a good buy, but I do like the S550 digital cluster better. Its going to be the after market that will get people to really fall in love with the S650. The S550 has the advantage right now of having a huge catalog of aftermarket parts to choose from. So it will be interesting to see whats to come in the next 5 years.
Personally I kinda like the s650 cluster myself. But I have to agree with the aftermarket. It’s really a hit or miss so we got to wait to see how the engine will preform and body
@onlytixer if they had actually done something to integrate the tablets into the dashboard like they did with the S550, I wouldnt have an issue with the dash. I spend a lot of time behind the wheel of my S550 and even more time behind the wheel of an EV that recently launched as a system test engineer. Tablets like that need to just remain in the EVs.
Aftermarket ain't gonna help it much with no tuning lol. People just keep overlooking this. There is nothing to "figure out" before you say tuners will figure it out. You flat out can't tune it outside Ford approved super conservative tunes and if you do they're gonna know about it and will flag it and can even put it back to stock. Try that with a blown car and see what happens. It's just never gonna be the car the s550 is and was. It costed less money, ran at least as fast or faster stock, and had way more tuning potential. This isn't gonna change. People need to accept it and stop hanging on to false hope. It is what it is.
@midnight347 we will see. Its early days. Not even a year yet. I'm still keeping my S550 regardless.
Stangmode is a better driver, I've seen this race before and the s550 won.

S650 hook better but the role are similar. But I've raced plenty of s550 and most of the races are pretty much like this one.

His black mamba ran mid 12’s stock. 12.7 if I remember correctly.

They arent tho. For one driver plays a roll plus hes got the advantage being the one calling for the start. Stock for stock the 24 is .2 slower in auto and .1 slower in manual

This is an ok test and I get it. But them both being on same tire, having a starter, maybe switching drivers also. It seems like he is lifting early on the roll races. S650 does not seem much faster. Good proof of concept vid though.
pretty similar in power to weight, the difference is a tire and a reaction time between the two, the last race when the s550 was in powerband you can tell it was more or less even.

Calling out the cadence is rarely fair...advantage to the caller. If one car is perceived to be slower of the two, then the slower car gets the go on standing and rolling start. If the perceived quicker of the two cars catches or starts to reel in the car getting the move, then we know which car is quicker; and at this point there is no need to do the standing and rolling start with the perceived quicker of the two cars as we know the slower of the two cars will never start to reel in the car given the move and instead will fall so far back.
But if the perceived slower of the two cars holds off the perceived quicker of the two cars, then do the standing and rolling start races with the perceived quicker of the two cars getting the go, and see if the perceived slower of the two cars can hang with the perceived quicker of the two.
In other words, take turns getting the hit and see which car gaps and which car hangs or which car falls back.

I think the s550 is fast the driver is slow his reaction time was way behind and stang mode races all the time and the s550 and s650 are so close In power you wouldn’t notice the difference these comparisons mean nothing
Those were good races. Racing has alot to do with the driver.
Basically to sum s550 vs s650 is this. Ford did improve the handling and suspension of the s650 compared to s550 it wasn’t just the tire. The difference in the rolling races is that the s550 3 gen is not epa friendly where the s650 4 gen is epa friendly and was heavily regulated just to even get into production. Also dyno wise the s650 has more potential than the s550. I know the dyno numbers have been all over the place even for the s550. But the graphs of the s650 shows that the car never drops off in power and keeping building unlike the s550 would just drop off or level off at certain points. So when these cars get unlocked which is gonna be in the next 6 months. It will be interesting because i think the 4 gen has alot of hidden secrets that the tuners are slowly learning. The bottom is is also stronger in the 4 gen. So the weather just got cooler so new numbers will pop up in yhe 1/4 miles. And soon boost will be available so it will be interesting to compare the 2 gens at that point.

@eliteghost0001 The same motor means that every part is the same and the engine once fully broken down. Every part from the 3 gen will just bolt up to the 4 gen? The engine is not the same. They share similar concepts but the components used to for the engine are different. The bottom end of the 4 gen is not the same. So I feel where you coming from but the engine is different. I never said it was this big every part is new engine. But they upgraded some parts which makes it different.

@eliteghost0001 your logic is saying every single part of this engine from the camshafts down is a 3 gen just with dual intakes. So that is like saying the gen 3 is the same as the gem 4. They are all difficult. They all share the same parts why wouldn't they. However some parts are different and have improved. All I'm saying os the engine is different. Never said 100%. And yes they upgraded certain parts of the engine and improved it. However they also put epa restore on it. But the 3 gen and 4 gen if you compare them have different parts in the engine. Look at the e catalog. Some stuff has changed and the parts are different. But aye you believe what you want man

Also gen 3 has direct and port injection along side higher compression compared to gen 2. Please continue bro you look real smart. I’m sure gen 4 gives plus 200 hp per cold air you add. Go add another cai to gen 3 and see what happened 😂. My logic is that YOU said it had more potential and my FACTS are that it doesn’t because it is FUNDAMENTALLY the same engine. they say every dimension is pretty much the same between s550 and s650 but i believe 2 to 4 inches longer for s650. but god damn does that hood on the s650 look long every shot i see
I have a third gen coyote and I think the at 6:50 looks a bit longer in the front because the measurement from the top of the bumper to the bottom of the bumper is taller. So it gives the front end a little bit of a bigger look

Dude, I am a fan so this is not an insult. BUT, in another video you mentioned you opted for 3.55 rear and you have an exhaust mod! That S550 not being a PP1/2 has a 90% chance of 3.15s in the rear. Not a fair race setup at all.

Thanks, StangMode! The last race was best with both cars looking strong. Lately I've been reading better 0 to 60 and quarter-mile times for the 2024 Mustangs. What does that mean? I don't know for certain. But it appears to me that you're right about a "win-win" when comparing the S650 to a S550.

@StangMode why is the s550 in drive instead of sport mode? You can see when he shows the dash. I have a stock s550 it picks up significantly faster in sport vs drive. I don’t get all these vids with people doing 0-60’s and racing in drive vs sport not even showing what the car can do!!

Person counting down always gives themself the advantage. Not sure why there simply can’t be a countdown without that advantage like an alarm that goes off at same time or a cone marker while doing rolling race?

I had a 2017 and I put a power pack 2 in it and it was just a nasty car, I have a 21 now with 10,000 miles with a power pack 2 again, not as nasty as it was on my 17, big difference with the 17s and a powerpack highly recommended... anyway good luck with everything.

If I had to guess, the blue one is a 3.55 and the red one is a 3.15 which should've favored the red one with longer gears. You can CLEARLY see that on some of the rolls the red one jumps slightly before even though dude is calling the go. Y'all gonna look clean dumb when they're all broken in and there's more races. I have a new 24 base with the nite pony and I CAN'T WAIT to find a stock a10 s550 to run.

Ugh… there a lot of variables to go into it. Obviously the S650 is better off the dig, and it’s a bit surprising how far off this was with the S550 having more torque, but get that guy out of regular drive mode man! What the hell. Lol. If his car is stock he should have the stock 19’s on there in drag mode with advance track off. He shouldn’t be spinning like that without a tune.
