Man I just could not justify spending that amount of money for the cold air intake just to make 10hp. I chose to go with the Steeda drop in filters with carbon traps removed and that was a noticeable difference
I just installed my k&n typhoon intakes yesterday on my s650 and the car feels more responsive and a slight bump of power in top end nothing crazy but i will say the sound of the intakes definitely makes them worth the price my car sounds amazing now paired with corsa double x pipe and factory active exhaust. It just sounds mean and super throaty damn thing roars
So the micron filtration does give a little for the amount of air flow but it’s not enough to cause an issue. The biggest thing in the intake filters is bugs and debris from the road so that’s usually on the bottom of the stock intake box when you change the filter and or clean it.
There isn't enough difference in filter density to make it worthwhile. If for some reason there was any difference, it would be very small. At any given point, you have to take into account small dyno variances between runs, ambient conditions, or air flow from fans. A better test for something like that would be to test the flow via cfm. -Landan
People who buy cold air intakes are the same people that think putting a “25 horsepower” sticker on the rear window actually gives them 25 horsepower 😂
The volume of air with two giant throttle bodies is more than you would have ever had with the last single throttle body, taking out the carbon Traps is messing with a beautiful drivability that the car has for zero benefit, and the K&N intake is letting 200° engine heat into the motor ,unlike the Factory closed box cool ram air..
@hpkntnw I don't know but the throttle response is nice, a big difference from my 21 and I had the Ford Motorsports performance pack recalibration and cold air intake from the Shelby, the car is getting enough air.... those stupid traps I think do more for controlling the air flow for the air meter than people realize.... and by now we all know closed air boxes are better for keeping temperatures down, the factory is giving us a nice Ram Air setup and you can kiss that goodbye with any open air box.
@@SHADOWBLACKs650I agree I have a 21 Mach 1 that ford spent millions developing a cold air intake for and besides a high flow filter I’m not touching it. I thought of upgrading to a 24 but I’d want the tremec that’s in my Mach 1 and the only way to do that is a dark horse which are crazy money, make minimally more power and are 150-200 lbs heavier not to mention I bought my Mach 1 for $58,000 and only have 16K left on the note with 16,000 miles. I’ve seen the dark horse as high as $100,000 no thanks. I put the handling pack wheels on and it will carve up a road and stop on a dime.
This shit looks like my Kia Stinger gt, which also has 2 intakes but it has 2 turbos. The AEM intakes i have basically is to heartye turbo sound, which is super quiet from factory. Seems unnecessary to have 2 throttle bodies on this car. One has been sufficient on basically every V8 car for how long? Single blade flows pretty good on my gen 2 ⚡.
Basically Ford tried to fix the issue of having the carbon trap mandated from the EPA. The dual-TBs are pretty ridiculous since it goes into a single bank. Ford is targeting ignorant Gen Zers with all these S650 gimmicks, so it makes more sense for marketing.
I need help understanding something - I just bought a 24 GT. I haven't started tinkering yet. I thought the engines were rated at 480 horsepower. But your Dyno is showing 410-424 hp... If I dyno mine are those the numbers I should be expecting as well?- POST RESEARCH UPDATE: As it turns out, so far the new Mustang GTs are dynoing 410 at the rear wheels - is this because at some point there will be a subscription for me to get my other 70 horsepower? 😢😂 Thanks for the great videos 🎉
Just my opinion and thoughts …. The K&N heat soaks the crap out of that motor . I have never been a fan of aftermarket cold air intakes. To each their own 👍🏻 just not for me.
You didn't hear him explain that the bonnet closed with a fan too.small to replicate the correct airspeed the car sees under motion, heat soak will happen. It was the only run done with the bonnet closed.
@@HSE2inc like I said I’m not a fan of aftermarket cold air intakes . I heard him and it still doesn’t change my mind … lol 😂 I’m definitely not a fan of anything K&N …. The only one that I would remotely consider would be the Roush system and it’s a closed system with a lid but it’s not available for a S650 so it’ll be stock for now .
It’s being reduce upon the cover high end cars DONT carry that or race cars f almost any sort what u think about yet maybe risking filter to get dirty quicker
Yes and no it’s more of a cost thing too the hot ticket would be high flow intakes pipe retain the stock airboxes and run a high flow filter K&N is hot garbage IMO

Motto of the story stick to a 18-23 Car and K&N is junk. And if anybody actually believes that Dyno sheet they put in the Box I have a few Bridges for sale for ya.
Like the transparency and just proofs what we know
Yeah its PROOFS everything
Good to see honest dyno runs all done the same day and with controlled variables as much as possible
I am very happy you left the pizza bite/bagel/pocket discussion in the video. I was already enjoying the video, but that made me SMILE.

So moral of the story, dont waste my money on this CAI. Got it.
Closed hood would not matter with the first 3 pulls since the lid is on the box. Pull the lids of the first 3 pulls.
And the K&N adds more grit and dirt into the engine then stock.
not really. they have filters for a reason.

Great job! Just the kind of info I was looking for.
Ive been trying to find a sound clip of the k&n typhoon for the s650 but i guess i have to wait until tuesday to hear them after i install😊
Do it with the filter box cover off i think their wil be gains
Would like to see a pull with the typhoon kit and S&B filters.

The moral of the story that I understand is this: buy a procharger and gain a ton of horsies and get the whistle whistle.
Great video !!!
14 minutes vid from LMR on the s650, I’m all here for it.
Well done Landon.😊
Thanks. -Landan
Do suspension limit slip and great tires for grip call it a day
nice video, wish everyone made them like this 👌

From what I understand only one throttle body opens at part throttle. The only time they both open is at WOT.

$700 for 14 hp does not really seem worth the money
Better get a dyno tune
@@Carlos.Rivera if only those were available
Its only cold air with the hood open..close the hood and run the dyno and youre pulling hot air in..drop in HP
You want power supercharger kit call it a day
255 series tire are on the small side 285-305's is more like it for the GT.
Baby cheat code if one can’t afford the open air filter an intake upgrade

Umm not every V8 car. There are V8s with dual throttle bodies and dual intake plenums, ITBs and you can kinda call multiple carbs "throttle bodies"...

Yea, it's called the CATBACK/LTH, 93 tune. Should be dropping in about 2 years :)
The 480 is at the crank. The 410 is after drivetrain losses and what actually hits the road.
Thanks for that 🤠
K&N be lyinnnn 😂
In fact it was the lowest number today on the dyno.
Yup. It's just foh sho! The low restriction filters work though.
Except the conclusion reached in the video says otherwise. Pretty darn close was the verdict.
