    It would be nice to have an independent dyno run before and after to validate a good bump in power...especially for the price point. That being said, these cars have been responding well to various power mods without a tune. I think many people are sleeping on these cars because of "no tunning yet" however...look out when that opens up!

      I agree I have the new mustang would like to know the power gains if any for $650 or more. I do like the look.

      That because these are proven to decrease HP\Tq after install.

    I have installed this kit and the ONE thing that would have been great is if K&N came with the seals installed. Those by far are the most labor intensive and pain in the ass.

      You didn't pay enough to get that. Maybe for 8 or 900 they'll do that. 😂

      I was thinking the same thing, could have pre-installed all the gaskets and badging. They might be justifying the cost by making you really work so you can look at it and go wow, it looks so good! Too much assembly for $700 and not enough performance gain. Looks good though

    I just put on the regular K&N filters and removed the carbon filters that are hidden in the flex tube. I think that will streamline things enough for the $150 that the two filters cost. The additional $550 for their airbox isn't worth it and it was way easier.

      @@Havok-xq6nm I added them the other day and drove it once. I'm still in break in mode and haven't pushed it hard enough to be able to tell. It's going to get even harder because I removed the resonator and installed an X pipe, last night. So, the lines will be blurry when I drive it again, but I expect to feel a difference.

      I drove it today, but to be honest, I couldn't tell. It's pretty hard to differentiate between 486 and 500 hp. It's a rocket, either way.
      The one thing I want to point out is that the car already has a cold air intake from the factory. Take a closer look: the airboxes are😊 fed directly from the air coming through the grill. It's not scavenging air from the hot engine bay. Think about the traditional cold air setups: and dual snout air cleaner with two air ducts running to the grill. Most guys would cut the grills to match the ducts. Actually, that's my next move. If you go look at it, it's kind of an impediment. Cutting it out will definitely force air down it's throat. Before I do, I'll see if there's a grill on the market that's already like that and is at a reasonable price. Otherwise, it's a Dremel job.

      Smart, except you still got duped on the filters. A piece of window screen will keep just as many particulates out of your engine as a K&N filter.

      @@JR15A2 It's not so much about keeping particles out as it is about letting air in. You're looking for the balance.

    $699.99 yikes! Things just get more expensive. Who’d thought we’d ever install 2 intakes in a mustang.

      For the "possible" 18hp it's not worth it. I'd wager the vast majority of those numbers are purely caused by getting ride of the emissions carbon filter inside and upgrading the filter

      @@InfoumusMOBB exactly. Possible not even a guaranteed. This is in a perfect world with perfect climate and outside temps. The best thing to do in this case is just get the k & n filters replaced instead of the paper filters and call it a day. Save your money for other upgrades. This is just out of hand and you are paying for the brand really.

    Seems like for the cost K&N could have cleaned up those welds that are front and center on the hard pipe.

    From what I have seen recently, removing the carbon filters will net a nice bump. If your really adamant about swapping the intakes, if possible it looks like just placing the corrugated plastic pipe with a composite or aluminum one would do the exact same. Plus you would maintain the benefit of the intake box.

    I don't think this was dyno-ed because it probably doesn't make the HP for the price. Just an opinion but without turning this looks great but, maybe sounds good but lots of 24 mods are suspension and cosmetics until the ECU can be unlocked. Either that or just go Whipple when you can.

    Most if not all of the HP increase is from the carbon trap in each of the stock intake tubes... those can be removed for free ...

    love your filters K&N been using them for a lot of years but this kit not so much the welds on the tubes are not very good looking (low skill effort for a presentational part) and the rest of the kit seems low input from the design team, very parts bin special not well thought out with the couplers the factory air boxes looks neater and more purpose built i would buy the filters to fit the factory air boxes and do a carbon pack delete for the air flow improvement ... great video @cj pony parts cheers

    Metal tubes? Are you serious? Dam...k and n are cheaping out. Those things get scalding hot and trap heat.

    It's K&N it's not the best cold air intake. Not just let you guys know to buy those stupid oil will ruin you're maf sensor. There's actually a loose power I will wait for the market to follow up to get a better one!😊

    Don’t buy this if you are considering a super charger! You will be wasting money because this kit will be useless.

    Pretty gross looking weld on that piping. After all that work I’d expect it to look slick. Not shoddy
