Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman will always be remembered for their performances as Mrs. Robinson and Benjamin in ''The Graduate''! The two gave a performance of a lifetime! Responsibles for one of the most funniest scenes and memorable quotes in movie history!
Miss My Dear Anne Bancroft, there is a hole in my heart, l fell in love with her as a teenager when she was living in the Bronx, and we would talk for hours, she was my water in a big desert of dreams; known then as Anne Marno on CBS television, 'Studio One' her first TV introduction,:Anne Marno as 'Gemma'!
CJBlanda: 💔❤️🩹❤️ oh how beautifully written... I cried when she died... Mel Brooks must have been a really happy husband For me, Anne Bancroft is one of the absolute most beautiful women ever ❤️ not that - classically - beautiful like Liz Taylor or Vivian Leight, I would also consider Ava Gardner (almost) her equal - but for me Anne Bancroft is simply incredibly beautiful and even off the mark of the cameras or stages and in interviews she was so authentic, so original and she had such a warm way of laughing, so real and I saw pictures from a very young Anne to her later years and I think she became more and more with each passing year more beautiful, there was always more of this uniqueness, of what enchanted me about her and made me find her so incredibly beautiful, she wasn't afraid of "ugly" roles and she was simply one of the best in her field , she is simply wonderful - even now, somewhere in a place where she is the inspiration of those who create the angels 💔❤️🩹❤️🪽✨✨✨
It used to be more common in past decades to have the main Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles, and a satellite ceremony in New York. The reason is that many actors/directors were also working on the Broadway stage, and they didn’t want to miss performances by flying back & forth.
easily one of the best screenplays ever written. the story centers around 2 characters who though very different, both their lives make it clear that their views and opinions are not aligned with what's seen as acceptable within their society. we see they both know what it's like to hide in plain sight to cope with feeling marginalized for who they are. brought together by a strange and unknowingly shared twist of fate they meet for the first time...the performances are so good that even though you'd never imagine it, the second they're together on screen the energy shifts and we the audience become immediately invested in their relationship. it's so brilliant because we know feeling that connection is this incredibly subtle unexplainable thing. Neil Jordan not only made us believe the story...he made us CARE.
How can he thank the cast of the movie and not thank Jaye?? I simply don't understand. Without Jaye the film would never have been so successful. Never.
What AMAZING line-up of competitors on BOTH categories, adapt and original! That had been a phenomenal year in movies... Hard to choose from those lists... Incredible movies all the way through. Qtest presentation by Hoffcroft! 😝 there, I shipp'd'em!😎👍 #TheCryingGame 💖 #HowardsEnd 💖
The movie is a lot more than the twist. It's a noir thriller with a great love story and it HAPPENS to have this big twist but it's just such a great movie.
Could you please post the Best Picture segments from over the years - when an actor would come out and introduce a clip from one of the nominated films. I'd like to see Jane Fonda introduce Scent of a Woman from this ceremony.
Original Screenplay should have been: Unforgiven The Crying Game Lorenzo’s Oil Husbands and Wives Reservoir Dogs Adapted Screenplay should have been: A Few Good Men Howard’s End The Player Scent of a Woman Wayne’s World
Love dustin's and anne's exchange here. Hard to believe she has been gone eight years now. I miss her in films so much. Such a wonderful actress.
"Are you trying to seduce me?"
"Not anymore."
AMAZING! Love them both!
Yeah! : )
Ms. Anne Bancroft was such a class act
Jordan's script for The Crying Game is a masterpiece
The crying game is one of the best films ever. The twist is like the cherry on top. And the ending is just amazing.
Agree.
Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman will always be remembered for their performances as Mrs. Robinson and Benjamin in ''The Graduate''! The two gave a performance of a lifetime! Responsibles for one of the most funniest scenes and memorable quotes in movie history!
I'll always remember them as Anne Sullivan and Ratso
Howards End and The Crying Game both has great screenplay.
jwelch5742 yes
it is clear that they adored each other - Bless them.....
They became close on the set of The Graduate and would remain good friends until Anne's death. Dustin would always speak so glowingly of her.
The Crying Game is a massive example on how scripts should be done. Still, Hollywood has not found the way to do so.
Yeah and Hollywood's gotten worse and worse since 1992 too...
Anne Bancroft=Class Act!
The crying game is tragic & awesome, that twist in the movie is still shocking
not really your comment has changed since 8 years ago.we will always mm

Bancroft is amazing ♥
She was also great as the lawyer in Lipstick
Any idea why Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman were in New York, and the announcement had to be done in The Tea Room?
It's been said to live fast, die young, leave a good looking corpse. Anne Bancroft died old and still left a smoking hot corpse

Amazing screenplay by Neil Jordan! Truly original.
These two have great chemistry...They should do a movie together.
Yes, but sadly Anne Bancroft died in 2005. She was a great one!
hahahh what a messy nomination kkkkkkk just loved: 'Are you trying to seduce me?" "Not anymore"
They're so funny together hahaha
We miss you ANNE BANCROFT
😍😘I am missing you...Miss Bancroft😍😘
This was classic!!!what Dustin asked and what Anne answered is absolutely classic.
How can he thank the cast of the movie and not thank Jaye?? I simply don't understand. Without Jaye the film would never have been so successful. Never.
Yeah, that was my first reaction! There must be a backstory there.
Both fantastic films, and so glad they won for these categories!

Anne Bancroft remains one of the sexiest women in screen history, in my opinion.
It’s so great to see Anne and Dustin together again. In much happier circumstances!
I love that version of the Crying Game song the orchestra plays lol. It sounds so cool.
The movie is a lot more than the twist.
It's a noir thriller with a great love story and it HAPPENS to have this big twist but it's just such a great movie.
We need you, dear Miss Bancroft!
Not anymore. LOLOLOL
Dustin is only 5 years younger than Anne Bancroft
1:50 - 2:02
What was the sense of announcing the nominees/winners in a tea room in NYC?
The crying game should have won for Best Picture instead of Unforgiven
Here’s to you Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman. Ever since I watched. ‘The Graduate “😂🤣😂
Please post Alan Menken winning Best Score for Aladdin
Ella era naturalmente elegante!!
dustin hoffman's 1992 movie hero didnt get nominated in 1993 for best original song heart of a hero written by luther vandross
Good times

Great stuff
That delayed applause for Enchanted April.
A delight!
I haven't seen the crying game. Is it worth watching???
Just googled the cast....damn it.....movie is spoiled.....
@@boltmarksman488 still good though
How the hell was Scent of a Woman up for Best Screenplay?
3:58 I like The Crying Game music.. ^^
Neil Jordan and Jaye Davidson look so attractive I can’t tell if they’re European or Gay
3:03
Geez, Anne Bancroft won't leave New York for nothing.
I guess there will be more via satellites these days.
The Cab Driver from Midnight Cowboy disliked this video!!!
neil genial.
Original Screenplay should have been:
Unforgiven
The Crying Game
Lorenzo’s Oil
Husbands and Wives
Reservoir Dogs
Adapted Screenplay should have been:
A Few Good Men
Howard’s End
The Player
Scent of a Woman
Wayne’s World
Malcolm X for adapted screenplay over Howard’s End.
@@ronaldmcdonald2817Sorry for the 2 year reply. So you don’t mind me including Wayne’s World?
I see Arlene Dahl in the audience.
Is she the redhead
@@maxipazz8214 I think so
1:49 Bella, Dustin was seduced. 😍😘
Quentin Tarantino should be on here for Reservoir Dogs
What an odd presentation
The real winner for Adapted Screenplay wasn’t even nominated! Aaron Sorkin!
Have you seen Howards End though? That was a wonderful screenplay.
But A Few Good Men wasn’t nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay bud.
@@angelcastaneda529 Hence why I stated "The real winner wasn't even nominated."
Lorenzo's Oil and The Player should have won hands down
Nooo, *The Crying Game* was deserving
