Another great rendition of a great band ….when I was a teen I read Tim Page’s autobiography about his experiences as a Photojournalist at the height of the Vietnam war (Page after Page) and “We gotta get out of this place” was fittingly the top tune at their digs in Saigon.
Fab song! I didn't realise until only recently when I researched for these videos that it's not Alan Price on the organ though - he quit the band before this track was recorded and was replaced by Dave Rowberry, who was clearly also an excellent player!
I always thought the intense zooming clips from the factory completely fit their songs despite of what anyone thinks of the videos. Great job on this!
It can be incredibly frustrating in some ways, especially with the 1967 Boston footage, which was a criminal waste of a great opportunity to capture an entire VU concert...but yes you are right, when edited into a music video in this fashion it is really effective at capturing the speedy amphetamine rush of the music and that period!

@@CAMFORRESTER yeah that Boston film is painful, when you consider what could have been if Warhol had bothered to "do it right"
I allways had a 'music video' for White Light/White Heat playing on my mind with the song and it was very very similar to this! Thanks and congrats Cam (as allways)
It's possible you may have seen my previous version on here that I made just before finishing high school many years ago...I was forced to remove it after about a year due to copyright issues, despite it being the most watched video for the song (this was way before RUclips was as well-resourced and had processes in place to distribute royalties properly like they do today).
It consisted of synced footage from the 1966 Warhol Factory film only, but had a similar pace to it, and the headshots at the end were exactly the same as they are in this more diverse, revamped version. Glad you enjoyed it anyhow! 😎
@@CAMFORRESTER Didn't know about that earlier version! Nevertheless I 'created' my 'inner movie clip' way beforer that; in the 80s...yep...gettin old here. Cheers!
The music video in my head that plays when I listen to this would have to be John Cale banging on a piano in a seedy old bar, all the velvets head to toe in black with sunglasses on, new york subway stations and flashes of doing various.. substances in the warhol factory - all played out on bolex film just like a jonas mekas short
I never felt cool until I started to listening to this band. If only I would have discovered them in high school!😘
It's never too late im.46 and just now started to get into them
Oh you're the Moe Tucker doc guy. That's why this is in my feed. That was some fucking awesome film making.
That's me! Thanks for saying so...this video was just a little appetiser; I've got some brand-new VU related content in progress that will be uploaded in the next few weeks, so keep an eye on that feed!
Agreed. Excellent work, Mr Forrester.
@@timneave3240 Thanks mate. I only wish it was better quality...Maybe someday I'll manage to get my hands on full quality digital scans of the footage, and do a re-cut!
@@CAMFORRESTER I can not wait, Cam. Thank you!!
One of the best songs of all time
love this album so much
I used to not care much for it and now I adore it, immensely!
Their best one
Just started a new job and had a hard night. This cheered me up BIG time. Thanks Cam!
great job, you've probably collected all the good film footage that exists of them here
i never regret subscribing to you after seeing your first TVU upload
Marcó una época
Still awesome
1969 live album version is even better
Good stuff!
so so good
Great job on this
very good
Exactly
I'm home!!! ❤🎶
sublime! saludos desde Argentina
Excellent.
The New York Public Library is hosting an exhibition of Lou's estate for free through March 2023. Unheard pieces from the artist's collection will be playing in the Reading Room.
Great work as always btw.
He did a lot of crap as well. Suppose America has to hang on to something.

@@Jlipnicki What do you want?
i’ve been obsessed with this video for a month straight, what’s the footage from?
It's a compilation of the majority of existing footage of the Velvets
First rate, Cam. You've caught what it was.
Please share with us your memories of those times...it would be absolutely fascinating to hear!
2022 in Europe: Expensive Light / Expensive Heat
🥶
Thats the same across the world .keep rocking on
Never saw a member of the band actually eating a banana before.
FUCK YEAH, I saw an amazing white light white heat music video for one of their live songs, its so awesome fits the songs vibe perfectly - that retro striped black and white style, its the first suggested for this video but if you want to look for it its called "the velvet underground live 1968 - white light white heat" its the last clip in that video that is so eerie, it matches the noise jam they have at the end perfectly
John with iconic fruit ( healthy ? ) and sans glasses !?
By the way, where did this mix of WL/WH come from? The piano kicks ass!!
It's the 2015 super deluxe edition remaster of the original stereo album mix
Just wondering, because the piano is featured more prominently which sounds incredible!
The piano being more audible does improve the song.
I can hear a Jerry Lee Lewis vibe
