The Vader and Sabe comics were really something special, the dialogue was superb, and the writer and artist truly understood Anakin's character. Hope we get to see it adapted someday
Vader's force meditation and visions in Charles Soule's Vader 2017 was pretty awesome too. It's just visually depicted in the coolest way, with a dark spirit with white limbs above an endless stormy black ocean, the spirit's tendrils destroying even the tiniest butterflies of the light from coming closer to him. This was just from the start, but it's used in an awesome way too later on.
I’m kind of glad these are ending. Vader’s run in particular has just been running in place for so long, with nothing remotely interesting happening. Now it’ll end with Vader challenging Sidious for the umpteenth time and failing so they stay true to Return of the Jedi. Plus they’ve relied way too much on big event stories. Seriously, we had War of the Bounty Hunters, a three-part event involving Crimson Dawn and Qi’ra, and then Dark Droids, all within the span of the same run. And they were rapid-fire. There was very little room to breathe between them. It felt like an over-reliance.
I don't think the era between ep6 and ep7 is likely at this point, with the tv shows currently focusing heavily on that time. Sure, they could make tie-in books to whatever is going on released around the shows and films that are being released, but I think a strength the comics have had for a while is that they take place in these points in time without being interrupted, so they can go wild with whatever stories they want to make without worries about keeping in line with shows and movies being made. The gaps between trilogy movies is a good place for that, and I think the prequels would make sense for the next project. the time between episode 1 and episode 2 hasn't been explored much at all in canon, and there are a lot of story opportunities there. The second half being between episode 2 and episode 3 though I think might be a bit boring if they keep the focus on the same characters as the clone wars did, but it could work if they give more focus to characters like Padme and Bail Organa that didn't have huge roles in the show. As a replacement for the Vader comics, the prequel era could have an ongoing Grievous comic, I think that character has a lot of untapped potential and you could potentially make him a very tragic figure both before the clone wars with his sort of fall to the dark side and body enhancements and his being controllers by people during the war. They could also have the comics be between sequel movies, but they could only get the time between episode 8 and episode 9 from that, since there is no gap between episode 7 and 8.
I look forward to the final issue of Vader so I can sell the entire volume. It's been lackluster and dull. It suffers from the bull crap of the company decompressing stories and tying into events. I won't miss the issues.
I only read very little, but I liked the stuff with people investigating Padme's death, and the handmaidens, that first story was neat I thought. But I just did not care for the episode 9 tie-in, I think that movie already made Vader's sacrifice, and having Vader know it was for nothing only makes it worse I thought. I also really disliked the Ochi character. Next up was some big event thing but I didn't feel like reading tons of different comics just to understand the Vader story.
Oh wow, they’re finally coming to a close eh? Last year i embarked on a journey to read all the cannon comics up to 2020 and I guess now i should get to catching up again. I’m excited tho, these were some pretty solid stories.
So the 2015 Star Wars comics take place in between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Meanwhile the 2020 comic series takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi? I didn’t know that.
To be honest, I have thought about reading the comics or books but Disney has disregarded the lore established in the books and comics before so I kind of just don't see the point in reading something that might be retconned later for pretty much no reason.
God if the comic takes place on between Bad Batch's Season 3 Finale and Epilogue where Omega is grown up, (and this is just my wishful thinking since I personally have the comics lol), I want it.
Eh, still would prefer a surprise revival and endgame for Star Wars: Rebellion for the Legends continuity. We want to see what happens after the Celeste Morne rakghoul incident!
More is coming with the next era of comics, I think it's exciting. My fingers are crossed for the next era to be between episode 1 and 2. What era are you hoping for?
I sure hope I don't forget that September 11th release date.
bruh that is a wild release date 🤣
never forget
With the way Disney treated Star Wars, the towers falling are now the second most tragic thing to happen on that date.
That's my birthday. No joke. 100% my birthday. Born 5 years before it happened. Turn 28 This year.
@@A21-EDITS21 ngl I feel pretty skeptical about this one chief, but lets say you actually did? that would be wild lol
These comics will be severely missed but never forgotten. They gave us so much💯

"This will be a long day remember, it soon ended with Kenobi and so it'll be the end for the Rebellion." - Darth Vader.
I had hopes they'd end the Vader comics with ROTJ from Vader's perspective but it seems we just won't have that.
Why?
@@trevturp6891 Disney Milkers
@@benfrank9622 What do you mean Disney Milkers?
Why do you hope that the Vader comics end with Episode 6 from Vader's perspective?
I really wish they gave us this as a TV series, like in clone wars style. It was so important but not everyone will access it the same as the shows.
The release date is September 11th? Reminds me of that one tragedy.

Finally we’re going to get more of grand master Luke
The best thing the comics gave us was "I am surrounded by fear and dead men."

I still think it would have been cool to see Luke training the next generation of Jedi, I am not happy with how his story ended in the sequels.
But Disney is not going to decanonize the sequels, so that's all we have.
It’d be cool as an animated series
@@LahissNo but we can choose how the story end for me it’s Returns of the Jedi it is the happy ending to the whole saga.

Nothing lasts forever and ever, but this was a good ride for Star Wars comic fans.

Marvel spent way too much time in the era between TESB and ROTJ. It honestly should have ended in 2022.
I've been waiting for this moment to read the entire run, I don't have the patience to read comics monthly
A Star Wars comic releasing on my birthday? Awseome.
This is the end for you my father

Shadows of the empire
I think what we gonna see is what happened between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. This is the logical step to take
I hope the final issue will finally tell how Luke got his green lightsaber
He built it.
It's in the novelization of Return of the Jedi back in the 1980s, there is even deleted scene in the movie.
@@medson71 That sounds like the old legends to me. I’m talking about Disney’s new Canon.

The comics were dumb. Vader litetally rides a giant octopus thing while fighting Sidious. Stupid and cringe. Not my canon

Too bad Ben solo was a complete failure.
Star wars is sadly dead. This was the last vestige of anything remotely close to it we had left.
Good, I’m so sick of them putting cool moments in comics no one reads. Vader is a prime example.
Those OG Vader comics from 2015 are insanely good and hardly anyone knows about them.
Thank fucking god, these comic stories have been pretty terrible
Star Wars died when it landed in the hands of Disney.
Star Wars got so gay haha the comics have been good but that’s about it.
Star Wars has being going downhill since the prequels. Let the past die.
Least it didn't spit in the face of the audience, they brought this upon themselves.

I'm sure is all Disney's fault because fans like more comics than their..... "Shows" 😝
