I think we can all agree "Ghost Sweeper Mikami: Joreishi wa Nice Body" is an excellent title for a video game.
Great game though.
It was a fun anime too, the movie kinda sucked, though.
shes such a babee
Japanese people love girls bodies.
@@lkskun Don't we all?
S.C.A.T. is still the undisputed champion of bad names.
the s.c.a.t man
What i saw the gameplay it really remind of Ghost Sweeper. Luckily you do mentioned it.
I find it amusing how most nes and snes games of the 80s and early 90s with anime styled characters in them, had box art with characters that look almost nothing like the source material.
The localization is a clusterfuck for the most part when it comes to the box art. Just look at the Rockman 1/Mega Man 1 box arts. The us version is so impossibly awful
@@berugaslabor True. Yet the manuals for both games still had the official anime style artwork inside. Anime I suppose looked too cartoony for the time.
The game actually does have a Stage Select code you can input at the main menu. Takes a few tries sometimes, but it's definitely there.
Kendo Rage is actually among one of my favorite SNES games. I love its humor and personality, the art style and character designs (drawn by Ano Shimizu, who's done a handful of games that mostly stayed in Japan but this and Cacoma Knight being the rare exceptions that got an NA release) and of course its fun gameplay.
Ghost Sweeper Mikami is great, I just snagged a physical copy of it. Excellent video as always!
VERY nostalgic game from my childhood. My favorite cousin had this and I would play it everytime I went to their house back in the 90's. It always whooped my ass but I loved it hahaha
I've filled up my collection with so many of these obscure titles thanks to your channel. These are great. Would love to see a video solely dedicated to Live a Live.
I just got this game, through a trade and I really dig it. It also reminded me of the Valis series... which is an underrated franchise, in my opinion. I REALLY want Ghost Sweeper Mikami!!! I first heard about it through this channel. Great job, as usual... Still one of my favorite channels!
Thanks for watching Joel
"Spirit Detective"? Does that mean this game is set in the Yu Yu Hakusho universe? LOL
Omg, this game was a small part of my childhood, but I loved the hell out of this game. Even though the mechanics/level design was frustrating af after a while. Still made me wanna find out what happened next.
I love the fact that they have the time in the corner, just like you have in broadcast TV in Japan. Little touches.
I actually own a CIB copy of this game from back in the day. I thought it was pretty fun, if a little unfair in some areas. I loved the anime aesthetic too, because we didn't have many games like that back in the day.
Tip: You can control Jo with L and R when she walks onto the screen after resetting the game.
I almost forgot about this game. I had bunch of games I wanted to play written down but I lost it. I still want to play it, thanks for reminding me.
Always wanted to pick this one up but ever got around to it. Always looked like a fun time to me
I had this game on the SNES, it was a cool game
i'm just now trying Ghost Sweeper and that game is awesome!
Ah Japanese games and their preoccupation in naming characters Bob.
thanks for the video, I really like this game and yeah, it has a Valis vibe to it, nice vid
My friend just gave me this game. I had no idea what is was. This looks great. Time to go play.
One hilarious thing about this game is that it has tons of automobile references in the dialogue.
LISTEN. I have faint memories of this game and I only recently found SNESDRUNK. I went searching through the videos just for the sole purpose of seeing if this game was tackled; with only vague memories of the cover art reminding me of a topless woman at first glance.
I screamed when I saw that cover art.
That's great
I used to rent this game at my local Blockbuster when I was a kid and really liked it. Never managed to beat it and haven't played it since, though.
Wow thanks man i play this game when as was a kid and was a hard game man long time
Do you think Wing Commander for the SNES is worth playing today??
Part 2 is a fighting game on PlayStation
Actually loved this game as a kid!
Don't you think Hamlin no Violin is another recommendation for anime SNES games?
I do, but it can be a bit confusing to play. That one has its own video as well ruclips.net/video/xA2ANmHDRoY/видео.html
Ryuma King that's another game with a similar vibe!
same here, didnt know about this game! btw do you record using roms or actual console? if the latter, do you take donations?
What mic / webcam do you use in your videos? Can you recommend it / link it?

I completely forgot about this game, I don't even remember how I got my hands on it back in the day
Last. In a universe where time flows backwards.
This is a awesome game!! I have this game.
I was JUST going to mention GSM! You beat me too it.
Does the bad guy on the box have an evil tennis racket
¡¡meow!! I have waited SO LONG for the name of this game!!! so many lists... I would rent this game as often as possible. ~WOW x3 danke ~
holy shit I remember this game
The label/box art alone makes me want to buy this game...
Am I alone on this?
It's the DND tennis racket
Wiki says this game also got an RPG sequel and an OVA series.
This game must have been pretty successful in Japan to warrant all that. Surprised nobody cares about it today.
Hello SNES Drunk!
Holy crap, I thought I imagined this game...
Any idea why the second game was localized as kendo rage?
Pls Do Maui mallard on genesis...maybe lion king...best platformers...
Can you look at unirally (or uniracers)?
I have a request for a video to do, how about Final Fantasy Legend III?
TheMoogleMaster Seconded!
I love you snes drunk.
-Love, A drunk.
I love the SNES box art for this game as well, they made it look like some kind of DnD game and the perspective is completely off to the point where I, a person who cant draw to save my life, notices it.
Ken Williams The box art is a goofy train wreck; it's disingenuous, crummy (the top girl's right wrist is thin as a pencil for example), needlessly sexualized (this is a game meant for youngish players), and tacky. It looks more like Mortal Kombat than D&D.
CaptainNnif umm no it's fine. The wrists are fine. Reminds me of 90s stuff. Like ads for DND. But also something else.
And there's no over sexualization. The game is probably meant for early teen to young boys honestly. But possibly even girls. When it comes to this, it's similar.
I looked at the Japanese one and it's basically a soready showing off her legs.
Japan doesn't mind marketing girls as sexy as long as it's age appropriate for the target audience. And like I said, even shoujo would show off legs. That's why its hard to tell from that time period.
CaptainNnif the weirdest thing sre just their weapons. A tube sword... Guess cause it's kendo but either it's meant to be a fantasy weapon or someone didn't understand a kendo sword.
I wanna say the art reminds me of phantasy star a little but im really blanking.
I will it's not accurate to the goody.style within so someone buying it based on the art might be the wrong audience. And the audience that would buy it based on the game art may pass it up based on the cover art
D. San Jesus; there's no need to be a contrarian; I criticized a videogame box art, not your grandmother. You don't get to decide what's fine any more than I do and thinking that way is a garbage and disrespect excuse to hand-wave away my opinion. I explored google images for 90s DnD art and every artwork put a tiny focus on the look of a character compared to the grand event at hand, and even then the woman were universally wearing full body armor that seemed appropriate for the vague time and places in history that DnD barrows from. Next there is Phantasy Star. The fourth game in the series had a woman in scanty black latex, but again, the focus was not on her but establishing the setting. Compare that to this box art which has two half-naked sexy chicks in a cat fight taking up 75% of the view and tell me with a straight fucking face that this is on the same level as the wondrous, tasteful, imaginative sci-fi/fantasy art of Phantasy Star or DnD.
I think you were mistaken; when I said the left wrist, I meant her left, not ours. In fact that entire arm is tiny and with a crummy perspective.
On multiple occasions, you contradicted yourself. How is this box art for young boys and even young girls if it's clearly directed at teen boys first and foremost? How is it not more sexualized if the western box art took off her skirt? And lastly, how. the. fuck. is this a fine box art if it caused the wrong people to buy it and the right people to skip it?
0:52 "Ooh, it's so cute. Where do the batteries go?" Last time I heard that particular combination of words the apartment next door was hosting a bachelorette party.
Fuck this game. Gonna play James Bond Jr.
Its a sushi roll of ninja gaiden + contra + megaman + anime.
Oh yes. The game with the water level featuring the bad touch shrimps..
Haha! Just last night I was trying to decide if this was worth the limited space on my SNES Mini. I ultimately decided against it because the graphics are just kinda meh and I’m not really into the subject matter. And what’s up with using a wooden stick the entire game? I guess it is called Kendo for a reason, but it ends up looking and feeling lame.
I went into Kendo Rage expecting way, way too much... I thought it would be the total answer to everything... I should have watched this video all the way to the very end beforehand. Now, my whole life is ruined.
It has an anime.
🤺
"It's fine."
""It's fine.""
The game is short & easy to beat.
Happy birthday to me..?
Happy birthday buddy
That cover art is play-bait.
Valis?
ruclips.net/video/an86hqzfOKk/видео.html
SNES drunk lol thanks for link , I was just thinking the way the character is. Girl with sword thank makes a little wave reminds me of valis
man it'd be crazy if he had mentioned valis in this video, wouldn't it
it'd be even crazier if he did it more than once!!
So obscure. Much wow!
This game should have been on the SNES classic Mini
Kinda disappointed that the Drunk didn't thank me for watching or tell me to have a great rest of my day. :(
This game sucks, but for whatever reason, I love it.
They butchered the story for the US version, that's for sure.
honestly this game is no good, the level design is directionless and the sprites are ugly. the gameplay isn't even satisfying.
milo pkl "It's fine."
What happens when there are no more SNES games to review? looks like we're scraping at the bottom of the barrel now...
Someone has posted this comment once every few weeks for the past year and a half or so
You ain't seen close to the bottom of the barrel.
We've only just begun. There's so much to talk about.
Some barrel, huh?
