It's crazy how underrated this game was. I don't think I knew one other person who ever played it. It never gets mentioned as a top NES game when it should be
Driveable vehicles, several characters to play with, tons of bosses and different enemies with different graphics, wow this game offers more than a lot of 2019 games
I like classic games as much as the next guy, but let's not pretend this game is offering ground breaking features. It takes under an hour to beat and cost $50 in the 80s, which would nearly be $120 today. It's a simple game with very basic gameplay and controls. It's still fun and the music is classic.
Are you joking? This game have good music good puzzles god animation and it was hard. Today you have 3 stages shoot anything it moves. And go online to enjoy the game
The Taxan team deserves much praise for their handling of the well-established G.I.Joe license. Led by Kenneth Lobb (the man own helped make the N64 worth owning with game like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark), the developers carefully examined and took note of the characters available to them and fit them nicely to their purposes.
Well KID did make this and the second game as well as stuff like Kick Master for Taito, and a little game called Low G Man for the NES. They developed other games too.
This sprite art for this game is *VERY WELL POLISHED.* Cut scenes, full body illustrations, and even the bombs bring left have animation to them. Kudos to the game devs! 👏
I'm a huge GI Joe fan from my childhood. Even now as an adult I'm shocked by how well the GI Joe franchise was actually handled in this game. I still have my copy. I need to crack it out and give it a go again. The game got me so excited as a kid as I had most of the characters and vehicles that were shown in the game! Also, Metalhead talking shit about the Range Vipers will always stick with me!
Игра чумовая! У меня была пиратская версия. Персонажи которыми приходилось играть были персонажами из Стрит Файтера и у босов жизней было побольше с ними приходилось повозиться. Ни где её найти не мог и тут нашёл!))
this is my Number 1 game, I loved it! the password feature was increible in that times, I remember that I burn out a NES playing this game without stop in one entire day , but it was worth XDD.
This game is *precious jewel* that i highly reccomend for any *real fans* of *The Nintendo Entertainment System*. From the *intense music* that pump me up every time i played it to the *precise game control*, *the awesome sound effects*, *the impressive graphics*, *the huge selection of classic joes characters*, *the amazing level design*, and a very *special gift* given by the creators of the game at the end (general Hawk with a jet pack), *a second and third quest*, what more can a fan of the system ask? This game is *clearly nothing short of a masterpiece*.
I had this as a kid back in the early 90s. The detail that went into this was impressive. Anyone who collected the toys and watched the show (both of which I did religiously) could tell the difference between all of the Vipers. Edit- What a lot of people didn't know was if you shoot the ceiling during the stage 2-2 boss fight with the Buzz Boars, one will drop down that you can use.
Snake-Eyes - Can jump higher and punch faster than his ally.Capt. Grid-Iron - Has the strongest fist power.Duke - The most balanced.Rock ‘n Roll - Has the strongest firepower and the widest range.General Hawk - He uses a jetpack, and he's powerful in every area. Blizzard - Is great during the antarctic world
In G.I. Joe, the task force of the joes has been able to pinpoint the main bases of the Cobra organization, and decided to put an end to their criminal acts. No “diplomatic solutions” here: the idea is to infiltrate the bases, set some bombs and explode all the buildings. Each Cobra troop does what he's supposed to do: Frag Vipers throw grenades, Rock Vipers repel from rocks, and Night Vipers sneak up on you with little warning. While these details will go unnoticed by most players, it gives any devotee of the G.I.Joe franchise a sense of satisfaction that grown men at a software company treated their subject with respect and professionalism. An interesting feature is that whenever you find a Cobra vehicle abandoned along the way, you can get into it and use it to attack your foes.Cobra Chopper, Cobra Buzz Boar, Cobra Mech, The bomb-planting segments are no cakewalk, either. Well... at first they are, but after the first two missions, they get complicated. Gun- Levels up your weapon. Collect four of these to make your gun go up a level.Regular recover item- these are seen as a "K". This recovers two units of health. (One in the third quest).Flashing recovery item- Same as above, but recovers every single unit.Bullet- adds ten bullets to your weapon. (Five in the third quest.)Flashing bullet- Same, but adds 30 bullets. Life up- Seen as two arrows pointing down, like a medal of sorts. Adds two units to your health. They don't recover, however, and a certain Joe soldier can pick up about three of these until maxed out on health. Invincibilty vest- Slap this on you to stay invincible for 20 seconds. I never play with Snake-Eyes or Blizzard for obvious reasons.General Hawk is the best G.I Joe.
This wasn't a great game, but it really does seem like one of the better attempts from a developer to utilize a license to the fullest during the NES era. You have to respect them for that.
This game was really dope for its time. - Multiple characters with different statistics and properties you can upgrade during progress and switch anytime - Hidden unlockables - Stages with great variety - classic side scroller and mazes - Multiple vehicles you can use during exploration - Bosses with multiple phases - Kickass soundtrack
WOW para un nes tiene unos efectos inspiradores Este juego es espectacular nunca lo e jugado pero lo buscare para jugarlo Con 8 bites se pueden hacer maravillas esto demuestra que cuando se quiere se puede 👍
LOL. I think you're supposed to take Snake Eyes in the First level. Not to really max him out, but to max out Duke, by jumping up high with Snake Eyes for the gun power up at 1:30 then quickly pressing pause to switch back to Duke in mid air and getting the gun power up to go to Duke. You should have Duke's gun maxed out or close to it by the end of the first level. Never let power ups go to waste! :p
I like the subtle nods that were given to the 1986 movie, such as the Cobra-La Royal Guards in the New York Sewer and Golobulus as a boss in the Sahara.
BOSS FIGTHs 1. Boss figth 3:25 2. Boss figth 4:37 3. Boss figth 8:26 4. Boss figth 9:42 5. Boss figth 15:32 6. Boss figth 17:07 7. Boss figth 21:41 8. Boss figth
Brings me back. Forgot you play Donkey Kong with Road Pig. One thing that gets me: with other characters and vehicles nicely re-created, why is one boss some AI Computer. It's not like there weren't a ton more vehicles and characters to choose from.
Love this game to death. I guess my one complaint is Blizzard. He's pretty useless. Weak jump, weak weapon, and his knife isn't that effective. I only use him to deal as much damage as possible to Metal Head with his knife until he's nearly dead then swap in another Joe to finish the job.
G.I.Joe has the best video game bosses lol :D TBH reason I loved the Metal Gear 1 and 2 bosses (and MGS3 Cobras) so much was they felt kinda like G.I.Joe villains haha
Why is Golobulus and Cobra-La working for Cobra Commander in this game? Last I checked Cobra Commander worked for them, and they turned him into snake after one to many failures.
I remember playing this in 95.. that was one Hella tough Joe game. Atlantis Factor was a flop compared to this gem!! Got this on emulation on the go these days lol. No more bulky consoles.
If they finish the game for the third time in a row (which is also their maximum difficulty), they can see a variant of the final cutscene with Cobra Commander promising to return.
One of the next games to add to my nes collection started collecting about a year ago and man I've got some awesome games and systems snes , nes, sega genesis, xbox.360, ps2, ps4, I modded my snes to play super famicom games I can play famicom games on my nes with the adapter so many games I can play been playing sega genesis lately going back and forth from system to system
35:45 "I always have to take care of problems myself. No problem!" *does nothing but sit around and let you shoot him* Consider me unimpressed. here i am 23 years later after first time playing this. still looks good, still playable. The soundtrack of this game is just amazing.
@Jesus tá na caridade aos Pobres what?
I am 24 yo now, and it was one of my first games. I still love and still hate this game, so much nostalgic memories I had..
Hold up... I'm 34 now I played this when I was 5, you guys were playing retro back in the day. Respect.
@@ncolvin05 yep 13 years old, 1992 LOL
Yes, I love it
What a trip down memory lane. A time when life was simple and the summers lasted for what felt like forever.
And it still wasn't enough time!😹
And when you didn't have to pay for extras once you bought a game game was yours and all its unlocks not like today. 🤨
Dude, totally. At 44 they fly by. Wonder if it's still forever for my kids

One of the best games on NES - superb
Agreed. Highly underrated gem.

Music from this game is EPIC !!
Impresionante. Lo haces ver como si fuese el juego más fácil.Éste, junto a Atlantis Factor, son dos de los mejroes juegos de NES.
Just came here to bring back old memories gi joe was one of my fav game

Taxan: our games have weapons that fire ANYTHING but bullets.
This was better than the second one(Atlantis)
I couldn't agree with you more. From the level design to the selection of the heroes, music and sound-effects, real american own the antlantis factor.
Gi joe for Nes... the only true GI Joe video games.

mission 2-1 i always had snake eyes there the moment cobra sea ray appears i use start throwing grenades it was no damage way to beat that boss

Amazing soundtrack... I think this game could havwe inspired Metal Slug
Blizzard n RocknRoll is my memorable character, its 35 years ago but it fell yesterday
Man this was such a hot triple A game in my days
Wish they could remastered this one in hd as long as the respect the original.
Forgot the kick ass music this game has. Even the character selection music is awesome
Love this game to death. I guess my one complaint is Blizzard. He's pretty useless. Weak jump, weak weapon, and his knife isn't that effective. I only use him to deal as much damage as possible to Metal Head with his knife until he's nearly dead then swap in another Joe to finish the job.

Absolutely amazing old game :)))
i remember having to have lots and lots of ammo to fight the cobra commander.
You must have played part of the game with snake-eyes since he has unlimited ammo. Best joes to save some ammo for the end of the game.
