    I'm watching your videos backwards, and it's funny, when you said here you will be travelling with these 100 items, ten I saw you downsizing to small backpack, and then to bumbag :) Like we always think we need more, and than we manage live with even less :)

      Exactly 😂 it has been a decluttering & minimalist journey & a half. Me constantly realising I needed less. Also after a few long trips away in the last 2 years, it allowed me to trial what I needed. My eastpak bag that I loved turned out to be too heavy for me too. So lightness is now my primary concern 😂 😊

    I love downsizing and have been doing so for many years, although I don't have as few as you, I still wish to get down to 2 suitcases... it's a lifestyle and a work in progress. What I began doing is, if say, the jewelry fits in a tin, I count that as one, because each piece of jewelry isn't sitting out in it's own space on the shelf, only the tin is. And movies, if they are in a case, I count that as one because the case is all that is taking up space, not each individual movie. I use that as an example as I have passed on all of my movies. And my music is in the car where I use it when traveling. I played the minimalist game about 10 years ago or more, and that started me on the journey. I gave away a lot that I regretted because I counted each item instead of the container it was in. I also learned a lot and was very relieved when my first game was over, I started again the very next month. I was on a roll!! That works for me, and may not for anyone else, but we find what is our way and that's what counts. Thank you for your videos. I use them as a refresher course and a motivator.

    For anyone wondering if the book used on the invisible shelf is mine no it is not 😂(The shelf I’ve used to hold the projector).😊 Hope some people find this video interesting…Also I wanted to point out two mistakes that I am aware of: 1.) In the section on accessories I number my bags and suitcase out of order but there is still 11 items so no worries 😉 2.) At the end I count the 100th item twice [ as the sentimental item box and the cruise capsule] but they are both included as 2 of the 13 miscellaneous items so it’s not an overall miscount 😂. Furthermore I hope I made it clear that the hammock was also included in this miscellaneous section. Then also that the sash would obviously not be in a frame but wrapped around the small sentimental item box or all of the items within a small pouch or bag - should I choose to take them travelling. Glad that’s cleared up 😅 Again hope you enjoy watching 😊

    I wouldn't recommend bronners as toothpaste, shampoo, or face wash as it's really drying and tastes like soap. There are better zero waste toothpaste tabs and cleansers out there that wouldn't take much space.

      I don’t think the peppermint version tastes of soap and now use it regularly. Also in the uk we are limited to certain brands of toothpaste tabs and they taste worse than the dr bronners 😂 I’ve tried neem powder which actually tastes ok. 🪥. I also did a whole video trying out different dr bronners for different uses. I figured out that the almond is the least drying. I now do usually keep some kind of oil or moisturiser too though.

    Thank you for sharing! 100 items is not very many things to own in this day and age! I would love to see how you pack all of this for carrying around travel. 🎒😊

      Thank you - yes I think I’ll do a packing video in a few weeks to see how it all packs up 😂

    Watching this back [and realising I myself only own 130 items] and wondered how it has been finding backpacks that fit all of that?

      For these items - as some of them were pretty bulky, I actually had one suitcase for which I think I did a follow up of a few weeks later. I’ll link it here:Packing Everything I Own| EXTREME MINIMALISM [88 items] PACK With Me!
      ruclips.net/video/qeVE6IB9rNw/видео.html
      This video I wanted to physically show all the items out on the floor. But then in the follow up I showed how they all fitted into one suitcase. The suitcase of which I did a cutaway to in the beginning of this original video 😂 as it didn’t really fit in shot. At the moment, I’ve swapped a lot of my bigger items (out in terms of size) for smaller. So that all of my belongings except my coats and shoes fit in my green eastpak bag which is 42l. But with shoes and coats you could kind of say I’m inbetween sizes 😂 of the eastpak bag and my old suitcase now. I’ve actually got rid of the suitcase as I decided it was too big 😆 if I had to guess I’d say it was around 60- 65. So now maybe my perfect size bag for all my stuff would be about 50-55. But I’m not gunna go buy one I don’t think. I think I’ll just wait to see if I get down to the 42l. 😊

    Interesting concept. How do you cook? Or do you? Do you just eat prepared meals?

      Thank you - At the moment I have use of a shared kitchen within the household. When I travel I plan to stay in either apart-hotels or small studio rooms with cooking facilities, or possibly have street food when it’s cheap.

    When you travel, will you always carry all of the items with you? I guess you should talk about what you mean by “traveling”-living out of a bag or moving house.

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  2 года назад +6

      I will take all the items with me yes with the exception of the cruise capsule. My mum will store these 5 items for me. My plans are loose at the moment. I want to just be able to pick up and go when I want, so sometimes I envisage constant travelling like a a couple of weeks in each place at a time or sometimes more settled staying perhaps 6 months in places.

    Do you think you have been able to save more $$ living this way and been able to travel more

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  2 года назад +6

      I think I’ve always been pretty intentional with purchases. I was brought up to never waste the commodity of money. This has enabled me to have savings and therefore what it has also bought me is time. Because I’m not too bothered about the material items money could buy, instead I care about my freedom and time. I haven’t been able to travel much in the last 3 years because of the pandemic but yes I did travel considerably before that. Also moving forwards living without wanting much or spending to excess definitely provides me with more choices in life. My partner and I intend to really save for a year. So we have a substantial fund to go travelling together. 😊 ✈️ 🗺
