I currently own under 100 possessions. I would like to own less! I think by subtracting possessions it is possible to learn what we miss, prioritise and value. This is why I'm attempting a project 333 for everything I own. Not simply my minimalist wardrobe.
For anyone who is new to the term project 333. It means picking and trialing 33 items for 3 months. With the objective of learning what works and what doesn't. It is a popular tool in minimalism but usually specifically for a minimalist wardrobe. I want to use this minimalist tool to find out what items I truly use and what items I may miss. Albeit, There is only about 69 more items in my extreme minimalist personal possessions bank/ inventory.
I look forward to this minimalist journey and adventure, in a bid to downsize my items even more. So that I can comfortably Carry My items in a Small Backpack when I go away traveling. Which will be my eventual nomadic minimalist Travel adventure.

Wow this is amazing. It’s crazy after decluttering you realise you don’t really need much at all. I started down sizing to the extreme due to moving house I want my new house to be empty clean and clear although I am hoping to get lots of plants and a record player with a built in cassette player so I can have some lovely uplifting music or a audiobook playing rather then having a tv playing mind nummbing boring stuff. It’s incredible that you managed to have such a small amount of items and you seem so content on what you have which is such a goal. Thankyou for sharing this!
All these shops tell us we need matching plates with multiple mugs and with tea pots and matching coasters ect we don’t need any of it we are brain washed by adverts and magazines to think we need a lot of stuff to have a nice home when all we need is the most basic items to thrive. I found since down sizing in the last 4 months I am finally thriving I can think clearly my home feels so much more positive and less distractions, my laundry has gone from 3 wash loads a week to 1. I just can’t believe how much stuff I had in my draws and I’m my attic out sight out mind sort of thing. I really admire your dedication to minimalism i hope one day I can achieve something similar to your collection

I like the minimalist lifestyle because it puts me in a position where I can help other people. Each time I choose not to spend money on myself, a way is made to help someone else. If I had no income, I wouldn’t be able to help. I prefer to be on the helping side.

It's so nice to see someone who, a) is in the UK and understands British weather and seasons! and b) who really understands minimalism! I'm just starting out on this journey and doing a great deal of research, and it's amazing how many people make videos where they have so many more items than necessary. I've subscribed to your channel.

Love your video! I am so impressed with your minimalism. I have way too much stuff. I have a plan though. I am losing weight. I have lost 53 pounds. I have 62 more to go. Along the way I have gotten rid of a lot of clothing, donating as I go. When i get to my goal, I think everything can go. I will get a very few things that I really love. Black jeans, Jean jacket, black turtleneck, etc… I am looking forward to the minimal nature of my new life. I have so much to declutter. I think it will feel good. Thank you for the inspiration.

I would have to have my phone, kindle , Bible , pen and highlighter, I like writing too so I’d take a journal with me also. When travelling you could buy stuff out there like sunscreen, body wash etc but I might go for a soap option on these things so not carrying liquids. I don’t wear make up but use a facial wash and moisturiser but again the soap would work well and mayb sunscreen instead or one that is duo purpose. I’m someone that has way too much stuff that I’m now thinking about doing some decluttering in my home life. In the kitchen I have too much stuff and need to look into creating a list of meals I love cooking and work kitchen around that x

The very first thing I’d have would be my Bible. It’s very important to me. I live where it’s hot most of the time so flip flops are a must, a couple of dresses, my Kinto water thermos, phone and Ipad. I have a favorite sweater cardigan for when it is cool and a good pair of jeans. I’m a jeans girl too in winter. I would probably have a small container for sentimental stuff because I’d def have a few things that I’d never get rid of. I’d have a document folder such as you have as well. A paper journal and pen because I love to write my thoughts and ideas, ect. I’d have to ponder further what else. Great video though, it’s really making me think how I could down size a little more.

I'm not sure what my 33 items would all be, but I can tell you my number 1 item would be noise cancelling headphones, since I'm extremely sensitive to noise. As for other things, I guess basic clothing items, outergear, a phone, a bag... y'know, I'm really not sure what I need beyond the absolute basics and the headphones. I guess that's a good thing xD

This 33 is amazing and I've been following it too, but with more number, consisting of office wear, occasion wear and night wear.
I repeat my tops every 2 weeks when I see some colleagues barely repeating....and I proudly tell them that I repeat....
Project 333 was tedious and I din see myself owning clothes seasonally. It's good for people who own a lotta stuff.
Thank you for this video 🙏🏽🤗

my 3333 items would be 3332 tarot decks, art supplies mostly plus laptop, phone and some long thing to cover my body so i don't end up in jail for being indecent in public! 🤣🤣🤣
all jokes aside, i always travel with carry on only, and with low cost companies so the dimensions of the free carry on luggage shrink every bloody year, so i'll soon have to invest in cargo pants and a vest with lots of pockets, it seems.
i'm also a large person, so each of my clothing items takes up probably the triple of the space yours would.
seriously though, half of that bag is art supplies and a tarot deck (which i pack first, weeks in advance), the rest is for the laptop (if needed) and a few pieces of clothing.
i usually travel in summer, so it's 3 sets of bikinis (i cannot stand sitting in a wet bikini, be it from sea water or my own sweat, - yuck!), a mandatory sarong (multi-purpose), a dress or two, long shorts or two, a few tanktops, a mandatory hoody (that i wear or tie around my waist), barefoot shoes (usually just sandals that can also go in the water if necessary), ... underwear and menstrual products of choice (if needed), sunscreen, ... lip balm,... probably forgetting a few small things...
of course i rely heavily on sheets and towels being provided, plus use the washing machine regularly...
oh, if it looks like it might be chillier while i'm away, i'll bring a pair of leggings and perhaps an extra pair of barefoot shoes (not sandals), or lately, foldable ballet flats that are super comfy (i've never had ballet flats be comfy before, so trust me on this), and a pair of socks...

4 cutlery, 1 sharp knife, 1 tong, 1 siccos, 1 pasta bowl, 1 plate, 1 water bottle, 1 stainless steel cup, 1 frying pan, 2 pots, 1/2 dustpan, 1 peeler, 1 cutting board, 2 ways to store food, cutlery holder, 2 bins, 1 toaster, 1 oven, 1 fridge/freezer, 1 washing machine, 1 heated drying rack, 1 hoover [if carpet],
2 towels, sanitary towels, razor, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 hand wash, 1 toothpaste, 1 toothbrush, 1 hair comb, 1 hair straightener, 4 hair bands, 1 pack clips, 1 multi use lotion, 1 deodorant, toe separators, tweezers, 2 ear tools, 3 nail tools, flannel, 1 retractable pole, shower curtain
washing up liquid, toilet cleaner, laundry liquid, surface cleaner, oven cleaner, 5 different scrubbers.
paracetamol, finger plasters, infection cream, Rennie, heat packs, lip sore cream, ulcer cream, vitamins
laptop, phone, earphones, 2 multi charger, notebook, 1 multi highlighter, 1 black pen, paperwork for identity, paperwork for therapy
1 heater, 1 fan, 3 pillows, 6 'cases', 1 combo duvet, 1 duvet case, 1 mattress protector, 1 bed sheet, 1 folding mattress.
1 folding table, 1 reading chair, 1 desk chair, some kind of drawers, 2 retractable poles, 50 x hangers
besides clothing/shoes/accessories and interchangeable hobbies and consumables like toilet paper or kitchen towels, this is my 162 minimum requirement for living in a home.
If I was travelling like you I wouldn't need 1/3 or 1/2 of this, so it would just be about 45 things plus clothing, so maybe 80 things?
I think in total, it would equal to about 210 things, or maybe 300 for living in the house if I include things like hammers or gardening tools. Which I believe WAS the number of items I had or just about, until I had my toddler. Interesting, that it's still the same number.

I am far from a minimalist but this was very interesting to see! I think I carry more items in my backpack every day 😂 I need medicine and a first aid kit. For traveling I'd also need some other small things that just greatly improve my travel experience and comfort - flip flops might be handy, but I'd probably take some small sock-slippers, eye mask, earplugs, floss (well, some more reusable items in general), a reusable bag or tote bag, purse or backpack, notebook and pen, a second pair of shoes (I've tried one pair - they were good quality but still got sopping wet in a rainstorm and the next day were still damp...). I could go on.😅

@@SagelifeMinimalism sure thing! :) I'm always scared I'll need something and won't have it with me. I even have a sort of bug out bag on the ready already! I think a 1st aid would probably fit into the category of reusable/consumables - alcohol wound wipes, bandages, basic meds and plasters, don't take up much space and can really help loads in a pinch!

Yes very good point- in fact on my last holiday I ended up having a reaction to an insect bite.I had to pay a fortune at the chemist for something to heal the infected bite but then prevent more. So I said if I ever went back there again I’d actually take a first aid kit and certain ointments. I’d taken it for granted in the past that it was readily available everywhere at a moderate price. However I think importation regulations in some countries make certain products very expensive so yes I may well add this 😂 🧴 🩹 ⛑️

Nothing for me. I need dresses and skirts in my life, colours, beautiful handbags, heels... I tried to be more minimalistic the other day, to create a capsule wardrobe, but it really did not work for me. It added some stress to my life. Then I experienced the worst year of my life and at that point I started something like emotional buying. I felt so down but whenever I buy something beautiful it helped me for a while. Nowadays I feel good (but still grieving) and also try to buy items from more ecological materials, to make more informed purchases. I don´t have that urge to buy something beautiful because of my mood, I just buy it when it is something I need or it si too beautiful and I know, that I will use it with passion and for a long time. My humble observation is, that minimalism and especially extreme minimalism is not for everybody or it really depends on your actual life circumstances. At some point a person can be more minimalistic, at some point it does not work for him. And it is nothing bad about it.

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  10 месяцев назад +4

Absolutely - minimalism and our possessions do definitely eb and flow. Our objects are a part of our life and as human beings we do need some. Yes that some will be greatly different for everyone. You’ve done the intuitive thing to know if it wasn’t comfortable for you. I on the other hand get stressed with too many possessions as our very tiny home just can’t bare it. The space brings me peace. I still enjoy beautiful things but pick very minimally what those things are. There is a famous quote somewhere from Aristotle Onassis and although I forget the exact wording the crux is that having beautiful things all around him makes him feel inspired. It’s a good job our minds don’t all work the same in this world or else it would be a very boring place. I would also say from a place of Grief perhaps we need as much inspiration as we can get… a reason to remember the beauty in the world 🌎 🕊️ Take Care of Yourself & Do what You need to do to remember the light in the dark times ❤️ 🕊️ ✨

Thank You ☺️…All my music I listen to is on Spotify or RUclips music. I no longer own any books. I am currently doing this project 333 with just one pair of shoes. However, I did mention that for different seasons some things may need swapping out. That is, jeans for shorts in summer but perhaps I would also swap something for a pair of sandals too. In my larger inventory of possessions, which I currently believe is around 90 things. I’ve stored these (57 items for my time doing this project 333), I have 4 other pairs of shoes. They include 2 sandals, boots and trainers. I intend to eventually wear these out and then get rid of them. The purpose of this project 333, for myself, (33 items taken from my 90 items.)Is to decide what is truly essential for me. Without having any decluttering regrets later, should I choose to downsize even more. So after this 3 months is up… I will do a video evaluating if there has been anything from my other 57 items that I have missed. 😊 Hope this made things more clear 😊

Well do you know I only got a swimsuit about 1 month ago for a vacation as I never go swimming here in England. The sea is too cold 🥶 and The communal pools arnt very peaceful 😂. I mentioned at the beginning of the video that this 33 items is for winter months and for a warmer climate I would swap a few things out. Like jeans for shorts. So yes I’d definitely swap something out for a swimsuit. I have around 90 items in total and I am storing the other 57 items whilst I do this project 333 across everything I own. The aim is to discover even from so few items - what I truly miss and use. Whether I would keep a 4 season amount of things or choose to live season to season. To keep my items light whilst traveling. Very well spotted though 👙 As I’ve done previous everything I own videos prior to one month ago. Recycled fabrics are created with shorter fiber strands, making them look worn more quickly.
Good on you, I could never do this, it is a great accomplishment!

I’ve never heard that before? I always thought black was actually most flattering on people except as a hair colour. Also even if this was true I’m sure there may be exceptions ie depending on a persons individual skin tone and hair colour also. I for one am very fair and have never thought black makes me look older. I have a yellow undertone to my skin so some shades of navy or grey can have a wash out affect. But not necessarily older look. I do think darker colours are practical for marks and staining - even with the risk of them making one look older as you may say. After all age should not necessarily be something to be ashamed of should it. I bought the recycled fleece because I prefer knowing it’s recycled as a minimalist than buying something completely new. I try to do this wherever possible. I also think it’s nice to know that companies are making sustainability efforts. Thank You for the acknowledgment.

@@SagelifeMinimalism Black may look flattering on a heavier body, you do not have that 😊
But supposedly makes the face look older. If you love it, wear it.

It is Dr Bronners it is available in lots of different essential oil variants. Such as eucalyptus, lemon, tea tree, almond, baby mild, Lavender. However I think the Peppermint one I have in this video is the only one they say can also be used as toothpaste 🦷 🪥 As it actually is mint. However in a home setting rather than if you are travelling - lavender or eucalyptus are lovely for washing clothes. Lemon seems to be best for dishes. Then almond and tea tree best for skin and hair. They can all however do all these jobs. 18 in 1 uses. But arguably only the peppermint one can do teeth 😂 as the others don’t taste nice 😊Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Peppermint Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, Made with Organic Oils, Used for Face, Body, Hair, Laundry, Pets and Dishes, Certified Fair Trade & Vegan Friendly, 473ml Recycled Bottle amzn.eu/d/aGfqRTj

Maybe I don’t understand the video. How do you cook your food and so you know mascara is just fat poop so it should be natural if that is all it is, it’s natural.

I mentioned at the beginning of the video that is a shared apartment so there are shared things like bedding and cooking utensils. I’m talking about personal items. 😊 Also I’m not sure I quite understand what you mean about the mascara? The mascara is the kind and free line - which means it is cruelty free, vegan and natural. I make a point of all my products that I use being cruelty free and as natural as possible. 😊

I assume that you'll travel to quite warm country because so thin and short coat with all these linen is a joke.

I suppose what is cold to many is perspectival (excluding the arctic) as many people would class England as cold and this is my current winter wardrobe living in the uk. The average winter day in the north of England [North Sea Coast] has a chill factor of around 0-2 degrees Celsius. So this is the temperature I’m currently talking about - no colder. I do say in this video I heavily layer my clothes. Leggings under linen trousers. Linen trousers as pjs in heated properties. Linen shirts over a vest, thermal long sleeve top and T-shirt- so 4 layers on my top half. A short coat is also fine in this temperature that I am talking about. I also mention I mainly live in my jeans. The linen options being for slightly milder days. I continue to say I would swap out jeans for shorts in a very warm climate. Furthermore I mention I do have a fleece that is very warm for layering under my thick puffa, albeit ‘short’ coat.

Frequent washing makes your clothes wear out quicker. That's not very sustainable

I honestly think the sustainability factor, works out the same as having more clothes. Either way all clothes we all wear each day need washing. Whether you have 7 t-shirts or 2 t-shirts. They are all going to need to be washed after they have been worn. If you mean because of the amount of clothes washed in one wash. We have an economical environmentally friendly washer that weighs the amount of water and energy needed for each item. So with our washer it definitely works out the same.
