I’ve been trying to slowly create and downsize my wardrobe to an extreme minimalist proportion. Keeping ethical and environmental issues in mind. Let me know what you think to this.

I’ve gone from 63 to 45 items and the target is to ethically and sustainably reach 35 approx items by the end of 2022. Let me know if you have or have attempted this before down below ⬇️ 😊
I'm definitely extreme 😂. I own 14 articles of clothing.
@@jessie9653 wow yeah I’d love to have as little as that at some point I bet it is very freeing- I think sometimes peoples lifestyle makes it frustrating that they can’t possibly have less even if they wanted 😂 at least I speak for myself when I say this. I have lots of different situations in my life where quite formal clothes and then Informal clothes are required - not to mention keeping warm in England 😂 but yes I think if I can get down to 30 - 35 including shoes and bags eventually- I will be quite pleased with myself, i enjoy the challenge 😂.
I love how you organised your wardrobe by colour. This streamlined collection is not just lovely to look at but I'm sure is very functional, too.
Thank you very much …yes functional and visually pleasing 😊
I think it's great that you're doing it slowly and using what you have. 😉
Thanks very much for your supportive comment … yeah not much point gifting jeans away is there to have to re-buy them when your others wear out so yeah I’m all about the low consumption, frugal and environmental ethics. 😊
I have 2 hoodies, 2 sweaters (both Xmas gifts) , 4 tops & 4 bottoms. 1 coat, 1 set of winter boots and one pair of gloves. For summer, I have 2 pairs of short and 6 tops and 1 pair of sandals. 2 bathing suits and one cover-up. That's 27 items. I have 5 sets of pajamas (thinking of decluttering 1 or 2) for winter and 3 for summer. So that's 35 total for the entire year!
Wow that’s good… I’ve nearly worn out one of my pairs of jeans so slowly getting there 😂
Nice video. Minimal wardrobes really make getting ready for the day simple :-)
Thank you, yes it’s definitely simplified my life 😊 the dressing and laundry drying side of things - as we have limited space to dry things but no dryer 😊 🧺
I just found your channel. It's fantastic. Just wanted to say thanks and I'll be watching all your videos. I'm also in northern England :)
Awww ☺️ brilliant and thank you 😊
Wheres your jumpers? I cant live without jumpers and a chunky cardi xx
Haha yeah I don’t have any - as I don’t really like wearing jumpers as there always a funny length on me …so I tend to wear long cardigans or long sleeve T-shirts that I double layer 😊 xx
ethical is the cloth without leather?
Hi, I am not sure what you are asking - the point of my video is that I wanted to use up items I already had without throwing them away to create a minimalist wardrobe. Some of the items I have had several years with the exception of some tailored trousers. I think sadly people are not always well informed about where their clothes come from - now I try to mainly buy linen and organic cotton and sustainably sourced clothes if I buy new. However - as many opinions would be , the most ethical, sustainable and minimalist option is sometimes to use what you have already. So whilst I would never buy faux leather again if it contains plastic - I will use these items up first. Also there is obviously now some faux leather vegan clothing so there are those options for people that like the look or style but do not want animal by products of real leather or the plastics of some faux leather. 😊
i dont think it's very healthy to be so focused on the numbers, as long as you get value and regular use of all your items you're ok
I’m not really focused on the numbers that is just for the benefit of viewers really- to get an approximation of what clothing I have. I’ve said regularly on my other videos that in general I don’t count my items but have only recently done so for the first time - as doing a game declutter made me just wonder how many items I had. I absolutely agree that it’s whether you use items or they add value that matters and I would definitely not deprive myself. I’ve also said to other comments that I just have a rough size of wardrobe in mind as a goal as I think it would be easier to maintain - so it is easier maintenance I value. For me and my value system the easier maintenance is a healthier mindset as I don’t like the head space maintaining (keeping, storing, washing, drying) so many clothes or things can take up in my mind. For some people extreme minimalism may seem too much but I believe for myself that I am working towards reprieving some stress in day to day surroundings and chores. To make room for more tranquil and wholesome activities both physically and mentally. But thank you very much for your comment I can see how for some people this would be true. Furthermore I can see how for some people the benefits of keeping a few more things may be less troublesome. But my endeavour is the opposite - my things cause me trouble 😂 I don’t believe I am that extreme as I don’t intend to ever force myself to say only have 15 items. I just have a rough guide in my mind. Which is when it’s simple and easy to maintain what I have - hence a minimalist lifestyle 😊
@@SagelifeMinimalism yeah clothing storage was one of my motivations for minimizing my wardrobe too, as i live in a very tiny space so i get you 😅 i keep all my clothes in a chest of 5 drawers and that's my limit (except for shoes and a big coat i keep in a hanger) i guess some people could say that's restrictive but it works!
I'm trying to peg your accent but my american ears can't identify it lol. where are you from? regionally
I am from Leeds but have lived In York also so I have a North Yorkshire crossed with West Yorkshire accent 😊
@@SagelifeMinimalism I knew it!
