Recently travelled with 44 items and i could live indefintely with those items. As long as a bed and kitchen items are provided i would be happy with just those items.
😂 yes the products are a problem 😂 think girls have it harder possibly 😂 or longer haired people- hairbrushes, bobbles. I’ve spent a long time trying to find as many multifunctional items as possible to help with this. Dr bronners is definitely one of the saviours 😂. Also I’ve found lots of multi functional oils I’ve tried out - that are good for hair skin and face so that helps 😊.
Love your video! I am not at a point in my life where I can go off and travel, but I turned this into a fun exercise if I were to be able to pick up and suddenly travel tomorrow. These are the 40 things I would pack: toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, hair tie, sunscreen, deodorant, soap, towel, washcloth, prescribed medication, sketchbook, pen, iphone, ipad mini (for my ebooks, watching videos, crochet patterns, journaling, gaming, etc.), charging cable, travel cup, reusable chopsticks, bank card, photo id, jeans, hoodie, 2 sports bras, 4 pairs of underwear, 2 pairs of socks, pair of shoes, 3 t shirts, lounge dress (something I can wear around while I am washing my clothes and doubles as my nightgown), a second pair of pants or a skirt, crochet hook, skein of yarn, eyeglasses, hat, and the backpack itself.
I’v noticed you are not using any pouches or compression bags and I love that. For a long time I was trying to find ladies so simple and showing how they do not use all kind of pouches.
Loved watching this and you're one of my favourite RUclipsrs, thank you. It reminded me of the times I've been travelling light, it really makes you question what is necessary. I know it may seem like old fashioned considering we can put things on our phones, but never underestimate the humble pen/ notepad 😉. Xx
I have often gone on trips to see my adult children and grandkids and have had to pare down to just a carry on backpack. I usually would only stay 3 weeks, but it's amazing how very little is needed to exist with. (Of course where I was staying though, there were things like cutlery, dishes, cookware etc) Absolutely love the feeling of 'less' and wish at 'home' I could live more this way! I should do this experiment as well and feel the freedom! Thanks for your video!
Yes, I think it’s a good thing for everyone to try and it really helps us learn what we value the most out of our possessions. Such as for practical reasons I learnt I really missed my hair clip 😂
If you take a look back at my 2 home tours you will get an insight into what it looked like when I was living in a permanent residence. I had around 200 items. As obviously when things like furniture, bedding and cooking utensils aren’t provided for you it’s going to be more items 😊. The difference between the first house tour and the second house tour I ever did on my channel, I think was quite a difference. I decluttered a lot of decor items. I’ve done lots of different things in my life that have required many different choices of attire but it’s never really been over 100 wardrobe items. I just can’t stand being swamped by things. I used to be a professional equestrian. Then I moved away from this and worked as a journalist. Several serious life events made it more difficult however for me to deal with pressure which is why I started simplifying and de-stressing my life. For awhile I thought returning to a physical profession such as being a hair stylist would be the answer. So I retrained in this technical skill. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how one views things - my mind is always active so this manual profession was not fulfilling enough for me. So I recently studied for a masters in philosophy. I now work mentoring and teaching online at the same time as studying for a phd. Skype Meetings along with occasional presentations require me to have some formal wear - which is part of my larger 35 item wardrobe total. This video was my 40 item experiment and aspiration. I currently have 100 possessions in total. But maybe if I continue to have to attend formal events I would have to incorporate one or two smart outfits into my small backpack goal. I lived with these items for 30 days. To really make me question what I needed. I hope this answers your query and thank you for your support by commenting 😊. I’ll be doing an updated tour of my current living situation in a house share and inventory of my possessions in the coming weeks 😊.
Hi Tamara, I do have a little pouch of sentimental items. I think there are only about 8 items in it. I no longer have any books I just have a kindle and I occasionally borrow books from the library. I will link the sentimental items video. As there’s not many 😂 I made it into a cheerful short with appropriate music I think 😊 ruclips.net/user/shortszKDXvpcJ_zE?feature=share ALSO I do have many hobbies and luckily for me as I discuss in this video I will also link for you- they all require only small things in order to do them. At the time I did this particular video however I didn’t have any as I was also getting ready to move. I think some people don’t count hobby goods that are perishable so I sort of stick with that guideline too. Ie: candle wax for candle making. Anyway here is that video about minimalism and hobbies ruclips.net/video/rdUWf_bVpJk/видео.html
Absolutely it’s from a company called Bambaw who are eco friendly. Bambaw Insulated Water Bottle | Stainless Steel Water Bottle 500 ml | Eco Friendly Reusable Bottle | Leakproof and Plastic Free metal water bottle| Keeps Hot and Cold Drinks | Eco Water bottle amzn.eu/d/h2F9lNY
It was only appropriate for about 6 months 😊 I wish - This is my updated video still under 100 items but more winter stuff added ~ EVERYTHING I OWN | Fits in A Backpack [Carry On] EXTREME MINIMALISM ~ 60 litre ruclips.net/video/5fs0Bcr9_YQ/видео.html
I do yes 😂 he’s just re-uploaded his channel hasn’t he. I think it’s great how he lives his life with just that tiny backpack. 🎒 I sometimes think it would be great to be that minimal but I think female minimalists to an extent are slightly disadvantaged. Obviously there’s extra things arguably 🤦♀️ that we may need… bras, hair stuff 😂 I do think his channel is great though… raw… no bull**** 😂
It’s a cabin max 20l backpack made out of recycled materials 😊 🎒 it’s one of the few back pack sizes they now allow under seats 💺 on airplanes ✈️ free of charge.
@@SagelifeMinimalism thanks for your reply! I like your military jacket too. I wish I can live simple life and be able to travel with minimal possession.
I'm trying to have the least objects as possible, changing pencil/books/notebooks to iPad/Pencil, basic clothes so i don't have to do bags of laundry every week. Commodity fetishism is ruining not just the world but my brain, spending habits, attention. We are not what we consume, we don't become what we're wearing.
This smaller one is the eco cabin max bag all recycled materials. The larger bag I use in another video is the eastpak bag which I think is very similar to the pakt bag. 🎒 😊
I’d be interested for anyone to approximate the least amount of items they think they could live with whilst remaining content? 😊 🎒
I guess 60 or something 🙈 can’t say before I tried it
@@rosewinterbabe it’s amazing really when we start putting it to the test what we all personally consider to be our necessary items 😊

I find this experiment fascinating. I often think about what I would take if I did this. The clothing is not the problem, it’s all the products.

That’s brilliant - it’s amazing to see what our core essentials really are isn’t it. Good on you for the critical thought of this list 😊 📝
A ball of laceweight yarn to maximise yardage… yep, pretty much same!

Thank you for your observations 😊 I think it complicates things , although it’s supposed to help 😂 🤷♀️ glad you seem to agree 😊.
Crazy that everything fit in! I hope I will get down to that one day
I know 😂 😅 🎒
Fantastic! Watching you every now and then downsize your things. Impressed 👍🏻 ❤️
Thank you 😊

I’m sure you will. If we put our minds to something anything is possible 😊
Don't know how many items I.could live with . I'm even struggling to down size books
You’ll get there 😊 📚
@@billy77511 I would advise selling the books and buying a small kindle
I have since done that - 😂 only just seen this comment as comments within comments don’t notify creators - better late than never for my response 😂
