- The Mario series has had a ton of water levels over the course of the many decades the franchise has existed. However, most people find that the underwater stages in Mario games are usually bad. That however changed with Super Mario Odyssey as I believe the seaside kingdom is one of the game’s best kingdoms. So today in this episode of level by level I’ll look at the seaside kingdom, mario odyssey’s best water stage to determine what makes it so good, from the boss, design, layout, moons, and more! Then we can see where seaside kingdom belongs on the mario odyssey kingdom tier list!

Fun fact: to go more with the “relaxing theme,” Assist Mode for this kingdom doesn’t have you follow a set path, but just points you in the general direction of where you should go!

Seaside Kingdom is the basic template for a great open-world Mario title.
My favorite thing about Seaside Kingdom is something you actually didn't mention: the water is carbonated. For one, that's a clever idea that I've never seen done before, and also it makes for the most satisfying noises when you interact with the water's surface. That fizzy sound triggers some asmr thing in my brain that just hits the spot
I love that the whole kingdom is used for the boss fight arena
I was surprised Nintendo allowed people to escape the battle on my first playthrough
I feel like the overall vibe of beach levels in Mario games are phenomenal. The gameplay in the water might not be, but the atmosphere and music make it feel like an actual lively beach
I also remember having a hard time with Mollosque-Lancuer because I forgot you could hold Y to boost forward with a gushen, so he kept outrunning me lol
Using the gushen to put out the lava for the moon then reusing that to defeat the boss is such a cool aspect of odyssey’s design… it’s one of those things that you don’t think about it often and it’s really cool!
I also like how after you de lava the boss’s head, you don’t have to gushen spray them, and can ground pound them instead
It's nice to see a Mario Odyssey Level by Level video, it's been a while. While Seaside isn't my favorite kingdom, it is definitely one of the best water levels out of any Mario game.
Seaside Kingdom was already good before defeating Mollusque-Lanceur. But the sunset and gorgeous music is really what makes it one of the best and most beautiful kingdoms in the game.
I am so happy that, even though it’s not the most recent game in the series anymore, we still are getting Mario Odyssey videos!

I think Cosmic Cove from Mario Galaxy 2 was the only other water level to get things right. Its gimmick of freezing the water into ice was genuinely really fun and creative, and the phenomenal music and atmosphere made it one of the best levels in the whole game
How about beach bowl or deep dark
@@QnjtGWonQNqVsbYyzjx4 Both are good (as most levels from the Galaxy games are), but I feel Beach Bowl is just a weaker Starshine Beach from Galaxy 2, and A few of Deep Dark’s mission’s don’t even require interaction with water
@@Bob-ombProductions 2 star, the purple coin star and boo in the box(secret star) have sections take place underwater so it is a half underwater level at the least
Gelato beach and sirena beach from sunshine are also really pretty stages. Though kind of old these days, they still hold up pretty well

The Seaside kingdom is actually my favorite kingdom in the game! It's huge, has lots of objectives, a great boss, and it's BEAUTIFUL!!! Plus, you can cheese the volleyball game with two player Cappy!
This really is a “Seaside Kingdom: Mario Odyssey’s Best Water World | Level By Level by Odyssey Central” moment.
The design of Seaside Kingdom is amazing but the MVPs that make this Kingdom so fun are the Cheep Cheep and the Gushen, especially the latter one.
Probably not my favorite kingdom but it’s hard to decide, all the large Kingdoms in Odyssey are fantastic.

One neat thing about the resort room is that when they added the sunshine outfit, they allowed you to enter the room with that outfit. Just a pretty cool detail
Love this kingdom, i was never a fan of water levels until this kingdom.
I feel like I’m one of the few people out there who actively loves water levels. I can respect why other people don’t like them, and I’m not going to force anyone to agree with me. That being said, a lot of the games have different mechanics making them feel unique, and one feature that’s consistently excellent that people don’t give enough credit to is the music. Oh my gosh, the underwater music is incredible in this series, whether it be remixes of existing pieces or original songs completely.
I love them too like a weird amount. People clown me cause I love them, especially the fact that I love zelda water dungeons…. Mario water levels are jaut so relaxing and fun
'Mario Skimming' in 2P mode bouncing along the water with cappy is so much fun. I specifically use my feet for the second controller (bc yes I have learnt how to do that from attempting mincaps help me) to skim across the water. 10/10 amazing trick

Great to see another SMO video, Seaside is one of my top 3 kingdoms and this does a great job of highlighting why. Beautiful-looking, very fun to explore every nook and cranny of, and has some great gameplay mechanics

Noteworthy Moons in Seaside Kingdom (only my opinion btw):
Narrow Valley moons, Ocean Bottom Maze moons, Sinking Island moons, Seaside Kingdom Timer Challenge 1, Beach Volleyball: Hero of the Beach, Lighthouse Leaper, Aim! Poke!, and Poke! Roll!
Bublaine is my fav kingdom besides steam gardens, so thank you for this.

Call me weird if you want, but sometimes when playing in this kingdom I put Mario on the beach chairs and let him sleep while I relax to the music. As you said this kingdom is the most relaxing of all.

Seaside Kingdom is very underrated. The gushen and cheep cheep allow for great movement. Mario’s water movement is amazing as well. The look of seaside is great too with its several islands and trenches.
water will never be more fun than land movement, especially in odyssey, which is why it still doesn't even come close to my favorite kingdom. the fun of mario games for me comes from fun platforming and water takes that away, even if it controls better than it used to. I like most of the kingdoms in odyssey so it's still not bad because the underwater does control fine, it's just still definitely in my bottom half because it is just fine

I feel like this world takes a lot of inspiration from the sunshine missionnwere you have to fight cataquacks on big plates. Also like the FLUDD sound effect and the fact the gushins are basically a big reference

I weird story about Seaside Kingdom. I managed to get enough moons to go to the next kingdom without beating the boss. I misread the King Snail (I think that who it is) text box. I thought it said “At least save some of us.” Combined that with him being angry and Cappy wanting to leave so badly, I felt so guilty I started crying.
20:50 this is a really funny statement since you can actually make it to every painting platform without using the paintings via really hard jumps, 2P shenanigans, or glitches

The fact that Mollusque-Lanceur III is royalty is really interesting and weird, does thst mean that the heir of the kingdom is literally slurping all the sparkling water, why they doing that? Also why do the bubblainians don't know the Dauphin of Bubblaine, the heir to the kingdom, or maybe thry are just heir of thr Gushen species or smth
I absolutely love Seaside Kingdom. I feel like Mario water stages are only bad because of the restricted movement and Odyssey solved that with the Cheep Cheep capture, but Seaside exceeds Lake with the Gushen for surface and air movement too. Plus the vibes are amazing. It's in my top 3 kingdoms just for that alone.
Then factor in the gameplay being one of the most open of all Odyssey kingdoms with the 4 seals being doable in any order. Then the boss fight is my favourite in the whole game because it uses the actual kingdom as the arena. It felt so cool to chase him as a gushen around the area I'd familiarized myself with by exploring earlier and baiting him into getting cornered near the hot springs.

While I may not agree with you saying odyssey has the best soundtrack in the series, I do think it’s the best for background noise for working and stuff, and this track is a perfect example of that

I love the Seaside Kingdom. Its my favourite water Level in any Mario Game and my 3rd favorite in the whole Game. (I Like lost Kingdom and forest Kingdom a bit more)

Outside of Odyssey and Wonder, my favorite water levels are Boey Base and the Kingfin boss fight in Galaxy and Pipeline Lagoon in 3D World.

Fun fact: Mollusque Lanceur is the only boss to have an official 8 bit theme in the game because the 8 bit section of this kingdom wouldn't be blocked off during his boss fight. I love how they would put it as an obscure easter egg that one can only achieve if they really explore hard enough to it.

I used to think underwater levels in NSMB Wii were the bane of my existence, the only reason I did them was the theme. I love the beach theme, I just dont like playing it.
Erm ahkshually 🤓 you forgot another painting moon you can technically get without the painting. In cascade kingdom you can do the "cappy return cancel" glitch to get the painting checkpoint and then warp there and get the moon.
Odyssey does water levels well, just like your FAVORITE games odyssey, the galaxy series :)))))
in those games the control work well enough and the spin is pretty fun to use underwater, they have great atmosphere too

Seaside Kingdom was good, but my favorite water worlds in the Mario Franchise will always be Beach Bowl and Cosmic Cove galaxies.
