- In this week's Technique Tuesday we will be covering the kick made famous by the greats Anderson Silva & Lyoto Machida, the front kick. This technique is a technique not used a lot in the game of MMA but is used heavily in Karate & Muay Thai. If executed properly, this kick can be effective in many different ways. Thanks for watching. We hope you all enjoy!

You mean the Special kick that Steven Sensei Segal taught to Anderson Silva?
Lmfao
I taught it to Steven
@PortMourant2008 Lol. Anyone who's ever done martial arts
@Leland Matt could you link to this video?
Segal is a fake
Belfort: Lightning doesn't fall twice in my place.
Machida: Hold My Sake Cup
Hold my cup of my own pee.
Actually Lyoto Machida also KO'd Belfort with that front kick. Poor Vitor.
Arno Verdoodt yeah that front snap kick is a tricky bastard. I once sparred a karate guy back in college and shot in for the kill to out box him he gave me a vicious low kick with a mid range side kick combo and finishes me off with a front snap kick. Pretty much K.O. City for me. Getting kicked in the face can be a bit traumatizing and can rock the brain hardcore man.... damn kicks.
@@unknownslarry395 Also because it lands on the chin mostly, like an uppercut. So yeah if you get hit on the chin the whiplash is bigger and your brain will move more, so bigger chance of getting KO'd
Don't forget Randy couture...
Victom Belfort
Well, that's Vitor Belfort, not Trt Vitor,, they're different guy
Stephen, I know it may sometimes seem like there's not much of an audience for this sort of thing, but for us fight fans and combat sports enthusiasts, this is just priceless content. I'm so grateful to have the chance to get tips and learn techniques from absolute top-tier athletes. It's crazy what the internet does, 10 years ago this was impossible to even fathom. You had to wait for famous instructors to hold a seminar somewhere nearby (for which you hopefully had the money), only chance to get close to the elites.
shit, wonderboy taught me how to wrap my hands 😂
“HE FRONT KICKED HIM IN THE FACE”
"IT IS ALL OVER"
OH MY GOODNESS
Cerrone dropped Iaquinta with a good snap kick too
yeah that was beautiful
Yeah he expected al to get knocked out by that but al got an iron chin
I will never understand why the front kick to the face is so rarely attempted in MMA, especially by such great strikers like for example Wonderboy himself. It seems an absolutely lethal weapon to me.
OMG this is a great Tuesday! Anderson and Lyoto are two of my most favorite fighters ever!
Stephen can you do a video on your five best kicks and possible show them off
YEA
Hey man. Just wanted to say, i really appreciate these tutorial videos. It’s crazy how an active UFC high-level fighter is giving away these lessons on RUclips. Much respect.
Wonder boy! You are one of my absolute favourite fighters in MMA! Cant wait until you get that belt. Greetings from Sweden!
I look forward to all of your upcoming videos! I learn a lot, but I also learn a lot on how to teach them clearly. I’ve got a martial arts ministry at my church and these videos are so helpful!
I wish I could like it twice you guys are awesome
Amazing content. So happy to have found this channel.
Keep em coming bro! Love ur videos. VERY VERY HELPFUL
I’m the kid who left you hanging in Yas Mall. I thought that you wouldn’t upload a Technique Tuesday this week but thankfully you did!
This is pure gold! Thanks wonderboy!
hello from Brazil Wonderboy, i am your big fan!!!

Wonderboy is going to have one of the biggest YT MMA channels if he keeps this up, awesome vids!
Love the way you present !

The hopping front snap kick is used more often in traditional karate styles such as Goju Ryo and Shotokan
No sir sorry you're mistaken this is the great sensai segalls famous move.
Tuesday is quickly becoming my FAVE day of the week! Wonderboy's fight style is mesmerizing and soley responsible for bringing me back to the UFC..

Amazing work champ!
Keep doing!
Before watching this channel, I already liked Thompson as a real fighter, now I absolutely appreciate him about his characteristics (funny, enthusiastic), a kind-hearted person. I strongly believe that he will become UFC Champion in the near future.
When it comes to kicks there is no 1 better than Wonder boy.... the best among beast😎😎😎
Thank you for your amazing content
Great video. Both are very underutilized techniques in mma.
Hello from Brasil!! Amazing videos
I just love technique tuesday!
Also Lyoto was fainting with the back leg the entire fight so when he did the jumping front kick caught Couture by surprise. Also his timing with kicks and knees is crazy would love you two to fight or spar someday
Merci wonderboy
thanks for the great content
@@lengendaryleo3578 not funny
didn't laugh
THOMPSON is a developed karate kid fighting MMA he is full in childhood mood 👍😃 keep it up
Fan from india
Sensei Segal wants to know your location. One does not teach his shadow dragon kick without his concent
Wonderboy such a likeable dude
Awesome brother. Great video!!! Where's the wondermobile R8 going through the drive thru!!!!?? Healthy fast food options for people on the run video would be amazing!!!! but trying to be a little health conscious but always on the run...
My favorite kick. Always works💪💪👊💥
This means nothing, but Wonderboy is my favorite character to use in the UFC game. Lmao. Appreciate the videos, buddy!
Meech4500

@@RMichaelHimself you xbox?? I'm down lol

Lol my favorite too
This is great. Love the comedy
i love this content
Very good energy and interesting content. Love your videos. How about some clinch techniques?
Anderson Silva is Amazing.
Wonderboy rules.
I tried this on my mom and it worked. Thanks WB! Now I wanna learn some ninja sh*t
this guy is a legend!
Great video! I don't trust my ability to do spin kicks in a fight and would rather focus on fundamentals like the front kick.
Wonderboy please do a video on how to fight going backwards that’s something I’m personally struggling on.
Another important aspect to the push front kick is the support leg. If your toes aren't pointed forward, you won't get the power you'd need to drive it all the way through unless your legs are ridiculously strong. Essentially, your power is coming from the rolling of the foot from the middle of the foot to the toes.
This was not too bad. The footwork on that Machida variation made this one worth watching. Thompson is a very good fighter but just because someone is an accomplished fighter doesnt mean their videos are teaching you anything that you wouldnt learn from a random coach youve never even heard of, even an average one. TBH, there are better tutorials on YT for most everything he's covered so far. Im hoping this first round of videos are just meant to outline the basics and eventually he will step the quality up for more advanced people who have some experience in martial arts and look for guys with impressive fight records to learn the things that random, average coaches cant teach us.
Technique Tuesday back in this biatch 😎
This sh*t so informational and entertaining 🤣
Ka Pow!
My favourite mma fighter.
Make video on overcoming the anxiety that comes with performing in front of crowd. For all those fighters that are highly skilled but can’t seem to show it on fight night
cant wait for stephen to demonstrate and explain "the vicious elvis" technique. that technique where he ferociously claws the downed opponent. purely for fights to the death though not for "exhibition displays" like the ufc and tournaments like bloodsport.
Just subbed rate you bro since day1. Your guy looks like Stipe.
remember watching lyoto machidas crane kick and randy coutures teeth flying out.man that was a lethal kick
Randy pulled his tooth out in the post fight interview. It was lodged in his mouthguard. I remember it like yesterday, it was local to me here in toronto.
Any chance you could make some rundowns on cardio/conditioning workouts? My problem is getting gassed out to fast, great vid like always wonderboy
I don't know if I've ever seen Stephen use this kick. Still cool to see, can you talk about why certain traditional techniques aren't used in MMA
Let's see your front leg side kick and spin kick you hit Hendricks with
That's my favorite kick.
Between the Chael club sound FX and Wonderboys karate sound FX the world is a better place
you sounds like barney stinson. Great vid
You should do a video on how to deal with leg kickers. How you approach them
Um salve do Brasil.
Go Lyoto, go Spider.
Love the content bro, is there any chance you could upload a stretching regimen? Btw, I'm not your management or in any position to give you advice have you considered taking the the Kevin Lee fight @ MSG? The taxes suck but your style and distance management are most favorable in that match up.
He did a stretching vid
Hahahahah gotta love this guy’s personality
The beginning reminds me of when you make us sit there at the beginning of karate class ooseing for 30 seconds straight 😂
Maybe a Workout Routine pls Stephen?
Rodos os chutes no karatê são escalados e rápidos, menorgulho de ver as Vitorias mais importantes do Anderson Silva por meio do karatê.
This kick on the cover of the best MMA game ever Undisputed 3
Somewhere, Bisping watched cheat-or get knocked out cold with this technique and jumped for joy
Flex collection👌😎
I’m trying to figure out if this is the same kick Travis Browne kept biting overeem with?
Probably a stupid question but is it logical for a heavy weight area person to utilize the type of karate stance that you use? Or would it be too rough on the knees. I'm a bigger guy but I love the explosive style and I try my best to use it.
Having fun.
Haha I get laughed at because I do sound effects when sparring.. glad I'm in good company there!
Hey Wonderboy, I want to see you and Machida spar and also Silva. both karate master
I want to see you use this kick when you get title shot cos I want you to be the champ.
Machida's kick was announced during the commentary as the Fall Crane Kick from the KK. "No can defend."
I'll go look again but I'm pretty sure he got Couture not with a snap kick but a "real live crane kick".....it was pretty sick!
Mae geri kekomi and Mae geri keage. White - yellow belt level at my time in Shotokan.
Do collabs next with sensei lyoto machida please... thx
Hey man I reached out on FB about a collaboration if that's something you're interested in! I also shared our new graphic novel. LMK if you're interested and great vid as always!
Could you do a Technique Tuesday on the question mark kick?
ty
Please do video big overhand like junior does santos pleaseeeeeeeee
That is one sweet rash guard
I Fuckin Love Ya Boi Sweet Tea
I raise my knee up and thrust that hips but when i extend my leg i feel a pressure on the back of my knee its painful ,on both legs ,is that normal guys ? I hope you answer me wonderboy
maybe you have tight hamstrings? try improving your hamstring and hip flexibility and see if it helps
@@Ethan-rw7ub thank you for your answer ,i'll try hip flexibility exercise
hey stephen when u coming to the motherland south africa to teach the youth karate they need it
I always hurt my toes with the push kick. How do I prevent that?
Did you kick with your toes in contact with your target? Because you should kick with your soles/balls of foot/heel. Try extending your toes while kicking to avoid hitting with your toes
Sensei Steven segal taught wonderboy that front kick so wonderboy could teach it to us
When will u return to octagon?
First?
For real this kick is really good and so useful though
Do a technique tuesday of superman punch using the cage, anthony pettis style.
