How to Remove a broken key from an ignition cylinder

Demonstration on how to remove the half of the key that remains stuck inside the ignition cylinder, when the key breaks off. Toyota keys seem to commonly break off in the ignition. This is a Toyota ignition cylinder from a 1990 Truck. This same trick will work for any ignition cylinder with a slot in the back.

Thanks for the video. It helped me finally get the tip of a key that broke off in the lock cylinder of my 90 Toyota 4Runner. I've been having to carry both a full key to unlock the vehicle and the remainder of the key that broke off in the lock to start it for about 5 years now. That old key can now go to the trash where it belongs!
